Chapter 106 Hagrid's Past

The next morning during the break, Harry told Ryan that Dobby had come to him again last night, still saying he wanted to save him, but he didn't say why.

It seemed that unlucky Harry would have to continue to spend time entangled with Dobby. Ryan made a helpless expression.

After class at noon, Ryan went to the edge of the Forbidden Forest carrying the new books his father had sent him. Wolfe was already waiting for him there. In addition to the books he had brought back, there was also a tightly sealed wooden box in Wolfe's bag.

"What is this?" Ryan asked curiously.

"Thank you for giving me the book. This is a mature wild mandrake that I collected. Now I give it to you as a gift. This box was made by Betty. As long as the mandrake is not opened, the mandrake can live in a dormant state for a year." A pure smile appeared on Wolf's wolf face.

Looking at this smile, Ryan knew he couldn't refuse his kindness. But such a gift was too precious, and he would feel guilty if he took it directly.

So Ryan fumbled in his space bag and took out a finger-sized pendant and handed it to Wolfe. This pendant was made by Ryan when he was practicing Maoshan Taoism a while ago.

"What is this? I can feel the power of magic?" Wolf asked after taking the pendant from Ryan's hand with his claws.

"This is a gift for you. Thank you for helping me deliver things and messages to Betty and the others recently." Previously, the material exchanges between Ryan and Betty were delivered through Wolfe. After all, Ryan's current level is not enough to deliver physical objects through the Emerald Dream.

Wolfe showed a look of approval on his face. Ryan saw it and continued, "This is a talisman I made using the fangs and venom of an eight-eyed giant spider. It can create a green smoke within a ten-meter radius with you as the center that is undetectable by most magic. The smoke can be used three times a day, and each time it lasts for one minute."

"It sounds very useful. It can be used to save your life. Thank you. I will go back and ask the centaur to make a chain for me to hang it around my neck." After thanking Ryan, Wolfe walked back to the Forbidden Forest carrying the new book and the amulet.

After saying goodbye to Wolfe, Ryan was walking back and suddenly found Harry and Ron standing at the door of Hagrid's hut.

"What are you doing here?" Ryan asked them curiously.

"We heard from senior classmates that there have been crying sounds coming from the cabin these two days. We were a little worried about Hagrid, so we came to check it out," Harry replied.

What could make a 60-year-old man like Hagrid cry for days? Ryan was a little curious. So he said to Harry, "I'll go visit him too. After all, he's a good man."

Harry walked up the steps and knocked on the door a few times. The door opened and Hagrid stood inside with red eyes and a little bit of alcohol: "What are you guys doing here?"

"I heard that you were feeling bad these days, so I came to see you." Harry said.

"Well, come in, I think you can come in and have a cup of tea." Hagrid invited the three people into the house. There was a half-drunk bottle of Fire Whiskey on the table. After he put the whiskey in the cabinet, he brought out a plate of snacks and a pot of black tea from the fireplace.

"What happened? Maybe we can help you." Ryan asked as he took the tea from Hagrid.

After hearing Ryan's question, Hagrid seemed to be touched and tears flowed again. "My Aragog is dead." Ryan froze for a moment after hearing this, but fortunately no one noticed. At this time, Harry asked, "Aragog? Who is that? Why have I never heard you mention it?"

"He is a giant eight-eyed spider, but I never told you because I didn't want others to know about his existence."

"Don't want us to know he exists? Why?" Ryan asked curiously.

"Because the Acromantula is a creature native to Southeast Asia, and its favorite food is humans. Although it can speak, it cannot communicate. It has always been considered a dangerous dark magic creature." Ron said at the side.

"How do you know so much?" Harry asked, looking back at Ron.

"I hate spiders, so I remember these magical creatures related to spiders." Luo said with a grim expression.

"So what happened?" Ryan asked curiously. Because Betty had clearly dealt with all the corpses of the Acromantula, how did Hagrid know that Aragog was dead?

"I go to see Aragog every once in a while, but when I went yesterday, there was no giant spider there. Finally I found traces of fire in the cave where they laid eggs, and this, half of Aragog's head. It's very likely that a wizard killed him." After saying this, Hagrid wiped his tears and pointed to a piece of charred coal on the fireplace.

Ron quietly moved back, while Ryan and Harry came forward to look for a long time before they found that it was indeed half of an insect's head, but it was burnt. Ryan thought that this might be a part of the insect that was blown away by the explosion and was not discovered by Betty and the others, so it was left at the scene.

"Why do you keep such a dangerous species?" Ron asked Hagrid as Ryan and Harry looked at the piece of coke.

"No, he's not dangerous. I even found him a wife and let them reproduce in the Forbidden Forest. When I brought him to Hogwarts, he was only the size of a teacup and not dangerous at all. Later, someone falsely accused him of being involved in the death of a girl, so I had to let him escape to the Forbidden Forest. I was expelled from school because of this. Thanks to Dumbledore's help, I was able to stay in school." Maybe because he had drunk some wine, Hagrid talked about his past in a torrent of words under the influence of alcohol.

"Is the dead girl Moaning Myrtle?" Ryan asked suddenly.

"How did you know?" Hagrid asked in surprise.

"Because I attended Nick's Deathday Party, and there was only one ghost wearing a Hogwarts uniform there. I was curious and asked her a lot of things."

"I didn't kill her, I really didn't." Hagrid waved his hands, looking a little excited. Harry and Ron were also there to prove that Hagrid was a good man and would not kill anyone.

"I didn't say Hagrid was the murderer." Ryan was a little amused. "Myrtle said she died after being looked at by a pair of big yellow eyes. The Acromantula is extremely poisonous and good at attacking, but it is definitely impossible to look at dead people with its eyes, not to mention that the Acromantula has four big eyes, and Myrtle only saw two."

"So." Ryan turned to Hagrid, "I think you didn't let anyone know about Aragog's existence in order to protect him, and the lack of evidence led to you being wrongly accused for decades. Now that Aragog is gone, you can tell Professor Dumbledore about this and ask him to clear your name. At least this way you can use magic openly in the future."
