Kreacher led her out of the bedroom, through a dark corridor, to a carved wooden door on the first floor.

The silver handle on the door had oxidized and turned black. Kreacher gently pushed it with his thin, bony fingers, and the heavy wooden door creaked loudly.

The training room behind the door was much larger than Vera had imagined, about half the size of a Quidditch pitch, clearly the result of the Unfathomable Extension Charm.

Several crystal chandeliers, long since extinguished, hung high in the dome. The surrounding walls were covered with various magical marks—scorched marks, deep engravings, and even a few scratches that looked like they had been inflicted by a giant beast.

Most striking are the training dummies standing in the center of the room. They are enchanted and can mimic real human reactions, making them excellent targets for practicing combat spells.

Vera pushed her wheelchair to a mannequin and thoughtfully observed the marks left by various spells covering its surface.

She raised her hand and ran it over a deep cut, feeling the lingering magical energy emanating from her fingertips.

If we could use magic circuits to understand and memorize these traces of magic...

Her eyes lit up, and her usually indifferent expression finally began to show some excitement.

Chapter Nine: How Magic Circuits Work

Vera closed her eyes as her fingertips touched the mannequin's scarred surface, attempting to actively awaken her magic circuits.

The golden patterns, faintly visible beneath her skin, gradually coalesced on her retina, transforming the residual spell fluctuations on the mannequin into clear magical traces—

In her vision, the long-dried traces of magic gradually began to glow faintly under her fingertips: a silver trail left by a sharp cutting spell, orange-red dots dancing in the charred marks caused by an explosion spell, and even a few eerie purple patterns left by dark magic...

These magical traces of different eras and intensities seemed to be reactivated under the perception of the magic circuits, clearly displaying their respective magical flow patterns before her eyes…

She subconsciously squinted slightly, trying to see the magical trajectories in front of her clearly, but at that moment, a sharp pain suddenly pierced her brain from her temple.

Vera let out a muffled groan, abruptly withdrawing her hand, her breathing slightly rapid.

"Miss!" Kreacher rushed forward in alarm. "Are you alright?"

Vera waved her hand, fine beads of sweat already forming on her forehead: "I'm fine..."

So that's how it is. With her current level of magic circuits, is it still too much of a stretch for her to see the magical trajectory of so many spells at once?

Having figured this out, Vera took a deep breath and gripped her newly bought wand tightly. "I want to practice here by myself for a while."

Kreacher hesitated for a moment: "But now...would you like Kreacher to prepare some snacks?"

"No need." She shook her head and said softly, "I'll call you if I need anything."

After the house-elves left, Vera rested for a moment before opening her eyes again and refocusing her attention on the mannequin.

This time, she didn't greedily try to perceive all the traces at once, but focused on finding the most obvious one—a trace left by a simple cutting spell.

She carefully reached out her hand, her fingertips lightly touching the almost invisible dent.

The magic circuits were reactivated, and golden patterns flowed beneath her skin, clearly revealing the magical trajectory of the cutting spell before her eyes.

It was a bright pink thread, winding and stretching through the air like a living thing, eventually disappearing into the mannequin.

Vera held her breath, focusing intently on tracing the path of the magic, trying to grasp the magical principles it contained.

Suddenly, she felt the crystal at her heart vibrate slightly, and a warm current flowed out from it, flowing through the magic circuit to her fingertips.

The bright pink magical trail seemed to come alive, abruptly revealing an unfamiliar scene before her eyes—

A tall, thin boy stood before the mannequin, his wand tracing a sharp arc: "Tear it apart!"

The light of the incantation immediately left a hideous crack on the dummy's chest.

The image flashed by, and Vera snapped back to reality, the illusion before her eyes vanishing.

She began to breathe slightly, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

"This is... being able to see past memories?" she murmured to herself, her fingertips still lingering on the crack in the mannequin, her heart pounding.

The crystal in her heart vibrated slightly again, and a line of text appeared on her retina:

[Unlock Magic Circuit Skill 3: Magic Tracing: Allows you to read the strong magical fluctuations remaining on an object, recreating fragments of the caster's memory at that moment.]

Vera looked down at her fingertips, where a faint trace of magical energy still lingered.

“Magic Tracing…” she murmured, the newly unlocked skill gleaming with excitement in her eyes.

This ability means that she can trace back the magical events that magical objects have experienced by touching them, and can also glimpse fragments of the spellcaster's memory through residual magical fluctuations.

It's like getting a key to the past.

Don't forget, there are quite a few items left over from the past inside Hogwarts Castle.

Even excluding the treasures that Voldemort turned into Horcruxes, there are enough other things for her to explore.

The only drawback is that the magic reversal will put a considerable burden on her mind and body.

"Looks like I'll need to control how often I use it in the future," she muttered to herself. On the panel in her retina, her magic reserves had dropped to 20/30, but the recovery rate remained at 6.5 per hour.

She had 20 magic points left. Although she didn't know how much magic she would lose by using the spell, she couldn't wait to try it out.

After another short rest, Vera slowly raised her wand. The magical trajectory of the cutting spell was clearly imprinted in her mind, every detail vividly clear.

The tip of the staff traced the same arc in the air, and she murmured, "Fragmented."

A golden light suddenly appeared beneath the skin, and a faint beam of light shot out from the tip of the staff, leaving a shallow scratch on the dummy.

It worked!

Vera's eyes lit up. Although the power was far less than that cast by the boy in her memory, this was indeed the first spell she had successfully cast since coming to this world.

This is the power of magic circuits—no systematic learning is required; you can imitate spellcasting after seeing it only once.

Looking at the magic points again, only a little bit had been used.

In other words, a simple, ordinary spell should only consume a little magic power.

As for more aggressive curses or spells, or even unforgivable curses, we don't know yet.

Vera took a deep breath and began to focus on practicing the spell by following the trajectory of the magic.

With each spell she casts, she can feel the magic flowing through her body, flowing along the magic circuits into her wand, helping her adjust the output of magic and the angle of her hand gestures.

The magic circuits not only endowed her with learning abilities, but also with a keen perception of the flow of magic, allowing her to clearly "see" the trajectory of magic when a spell is cast and to precisely adjust the distribution of every bit of power.

The golden threads originated from the crystal at the heart, flowed along a specific path to the fingertips, and were then released through the wand.

It felt amazing, like suddenly gaining some innate ability that had always been overlooked.

Gradually, the spell's effects became more and more obvious, from initially only leaving shallow marks to later leaving deep cracks on the dummy.

"Torn apart!"

As the final incantation was released, one of the dummy's arms snapped off and fell to the ground with a thud.

Vera let out a long sigh, leaned back in her wheelchair, and smiled as her sweaty face broke into a smile.

At this point, she had begun to grasp the auxiliary abilities of the magic circuits.

Now, what she cares about more is that so-called ancient magic.

Chapter Ten Ancient Magic

Vera stared at the broken dummy arm, the images she had seen when her magic circuits awakened flashing through her mind.

She gently stroked the golden patterns on her wand, lost in thought: "If magic circuits are an ability I already possess, then how do I learn true ancient magic?"

The crystal at her heart vibrated slightly, as if in response to her question.

Vera closed her eyes and tried to immerse her consciousness into the core of the magic circuit.

In an instant, the golden patterns within her body lit up, guiding her consciousness back to the void space she had been in before—

But unlike when she last came here, this place now resembled a complex array of runes formed by countless points of light, suspended in the void.

However, most of the runes were dull and lifeless, with only a few emitting a light that was either bright or dim.

Vera glanced around, her gaze immediately drawn to one particularly bright rune. She instinctively reached out, and the moment she touched it, a flood of information rushed into her mind:

[Ancient Magic - Multiple Casting (Beginner)]

[Effect 1: Consumes 5 mana points. Multiple effects can be stacked within the same spell. Current stack limit: 2 layers]

[Other effects will be unlocked by continuing to upgrade your magic circuits.]

Vera's breath hitched slightly. The effect of multicasting... it was just like a skill enhancement in a game!

She couldn't wait to exit the consciousness space and raise her wand again, aiming it at another dummy.

"Torn apart!"

This time, she deliberately guided the magic to flow along a specific circuit. The moment the spell was released, the crystal in her heart suddenly became hot, and she clearly sensed the runes of multicast lighting up in her consciousness.

As the incantation was uttered, two almost overlapping pink beams of light burst forth from the tip of the staff, fanning out towards the dummy. The first beam severed the neck, and the second beam cut the dummy in two at the waist.

The three parts of the dummy landed almost simultaneously, with the upper body even exploding and splintering wood chips everywhere.

Vera instinctively raised her arm to shield herself, but still got cut on her cheek by several pieces of shards.

Warm liquid slid down his jawline, but the wound immediately glowed with a faint golden light and healed completely in the blink of an eye.

Vera's chest heaved violently; this attack directly consumed 6 points of magic power—1 point from a basic spell plus 5 points from multicast.

But the effect is truly amazing; if used in actual combat, it would be an unstoppable weapon.

With only 4 mana points remaining, it's not enough to attempt multiple spellcasting again.

Vera took a deep breath to calm her racing heart.

She pushed her wheelchair closer to the completely destroyed dummy, her fingertips gently tracing the jagged edges, feeling the lingering magical fluctuations.

This is the power of ancient magic.

She raised her lips, revealing a satisfied smile.

Then, she gently pressed a dark mark on the wheelchair, a type of sprite magic specifically used to summon Kreacher.

As long as it's not a place like Hogwarts with special magical shielding, Kreacher can sense it and arrive immediately.

"Miss!" Kreacher appeared in the doorway almost instantly, her tennis ball-sized eyes widening in horror. "You have blood on your face! Are you injured?"

"It's nothing, I'm all better now." Vera took out a handkerchief and casually wiped the remaining blood from her face, where no trace of injury could be seen.

Kreacher breathed a sigh of relief, looking suspiciously at the mess in the room. His gaze lingered on the broken dummy for a moment: "Were these injuries inflicted by Miss...? Kreacher sensed a very powerful magical aura."

Vera didn't respond to the comment, but simply said softly, "Could you help me tidy up here?"

"Of course!" The little elf immediately sprang into action, pointing casually, and the remains of the dummy and the scattered wood chips quickly gathered together, restoring it to its original state.

Vera stood quietly behind him, observing as a magical trace, different from, yet somewhat similar to, that flowed from Kreacher's fingertips.

House-elves' magic is completely different from that of wizards. Their magic flows more primitively and directly. They don't need wands or even spells; they can perform complex magic with just a thought.

Vera gazed thoughtfully at the magical trails.

Perhaps... the magic of house-elves is closer to ancient magic?

However, his magic power is now depleted, so he can no longer attempt it.

Vera kept this thought in mind, and after tidying everything up, she quietly pushed her wheelchair out of the training room.

Kreacher followed closely behind, glancing worriedly at her slightly pale face every now and then.

“Miss needs to rest,” the elf insisted. “Kreacher has prepared hot milk and blueberry muffins… and today’s potion.”

Vera hesitated for a moment, but ultimately did not refuse, letting Kreacher push her back to the bedroom.

The sky outside the window had darkened, and the afterglow of the setting sun cast a golden shadow on the floor through the gaps in the heavy curtains.

When Knox saw her return, he immediately jumped down from the bookshelf and lightly leaped onto her lap.

“Miss is too tired today.” Kreacher muttered as he placed the hot milk and muffins on the bedside table, then took a small crystal bottle from his pocket containing a bright green potion. “This is today’s potion, just delivered by the apothecary.”

Vera took the medicine bottle, her fingertips gently tracing the cool glass surface.

With the aid of the magic circuits, she was even able to clearly see the subtle flow of magic within the potions, as well as the interaction patterns of the various medicinal ingredients.

“Thank you, Kreacher.” She placed the medicine bottle aside, her voice gentle yet firm. “I’d like to rest for a while before drinking it. You can go ahead with your work.”

After the little elf left with its head drooping, Vera held the medicine bottle up to her eyes, observing the flow of magic within the emerald green liquid.

Those subtle traces of magic were clearly visible to her—there were herbal extracts that repaired muscle damage, and several other ingredients she couldn't yet identify…

To be honest, this treatment, while having some effect, is mostly just a placebo.

After all, given her current physical condition, she can't take those kinds of potent medicines every day.

Vera put the medicine bottle back on the bedside table, pushed her wheelchair to the desk, and took out a piece of parchment and a quill pen.
