"Of course, it's on the World Tree too."
“I see.” Nagasaki Asuna nodded.
The elven girl lowered her head.
A brief silence fell over the room.
"Forget it, let's continue. The goal is to find human towns and gather more intelligence," Shen Xi said coldly, then turned and left.
Cheng Fei stood beside her and asked, "Teacher Shen, is this really your territory? You seem to have no reputation at all."
"How would I know about such things? Stop talking nonsense."
"Little Yi, are there any other teleportation stations? Let's just die and go back to start over."
"Okay, I won't object if you're willing."
"Willing to die with me? I knew you loved me terribly. But my body is too precious, so I'm sorry."
"As expected, it's that same endless, disgusting rhetoric. Shut up."
The elven girl stood frozen in place, watching the backs of the two who had once again fallen into a strange conversation.
“You’ll have to stay with us for now, so let’s go?” Nagasaki Asuna smiled beside her, her hands behind her back.
The elven girl was silent for a moment, then nodded.
……
After a long time, the terrain in front of the four gradually opened up, and plantations appeared on the horizon. Tall windmills could be seen, and flocks of sheep looked like gray and white wool balls scattered on the grass. Further away were the silhouettes of medieval-style buildings scattered in a disorderly manner.
"There really is a town, and it's not small," Cheng Fei muttered, shading his eyes with his hand.
“Cheng Fei, look over there,” Nagasaki Asuna suddenly said.
Following the girl's finger, one could see a strangely shaped, dilapidated, silver-gray building entwined with vines standing on the plain, with a winding dirt road next to it leading towards the town.
"Finally, we have a save point, although whether it will actually work is another matter," Cheng Fei sighed.
The four of them quickly moved over.
"Your Majesty, do you have any leads?" Cheng Fei asked, looking at the tightly closed door.
“If it automatically goes into hibernation due to insufficient energy, it can theoretically be forced to start.” Shen Xi stepped forward and brushed away the thick layer of dust on the panel.
"What are you going to do?" The elven girl beside him asked, her gaze shifting back and forth between the three of them and the ruins.
"In short, if all goes well, we'll be going home." Cheng Fei looked at her.
"Go home?" The elven girl looked as if she had heard a fairy tale.
“If you’d like, you can wait for us nearby for a while. We’ll be back soon,” Nagasaki Asuna said with a smile.
"I still have things to do." The elven girl clenched her fist.
"That's a shame. Remember to cover your ears, or you'll get caught again," Cheng Fei said seriously.
"I don't need your guidance." The elven girl turned her face away.
At that moment, the teleportation station door in front of Shen Xi suddenly opened.
"Teacher Shen, you actually know how to operate this? The memories of the Celestial Queen have been awakened?" Cheng Fei asked curiously.
"Isena is teaching me, is that hard to imagine?" Shen Xi looked disgusted, walked in and clicked on the panel, "Come in quickly, Isena can jump by connecting to the data."
"Ok."
Cheng Fei and Nagasaki Asuna followed together.
The elven girl stood outside, staring wide-eyed at the three of them.
"Want to come along?" Nagasaki Asuna asked, tilting her head with her hands behind her back.
The elven girl quickly retreated and shook her head vigorously, her expression more wary than ever before, as if the three of them were some kind of incomprehensible and bizarre beings.
"Ignore her, let's go," Shen Xi said coldly.
As soon as he finished speaking, the door closed.
Cheng Fei realized something, "Teacher Shen, is it going to be the cargo hold again this time?"
"Is there a problem?" Shen Xi raised her chin.
Cheng Fei and Nagasaki Asuna's expressions changed.
The next second, the world of the three began to tremble.
……
After a period of time that felt both short and long, the three returned to the small square where the fountain never stopped.
"Your Majesty, and the Consul and the Inspector, welcome back!" The young girl in the white sailor uniform opened her arms wide, her smile full of enthusiasm.
"Xiao Yi, is there really no cabin available?" Cheng Fei asked, his expression a calm masking his pain.
“Consul, no, normally the Mystic Lock can be created, but I can’t do it now.” Isena shrank back.
"Next time, please send us directly to a key location. Do you know we've been wandering in the wild for hours?" Cheng Fei sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"Governor, most of the teleportation stations in the Fallen Lands are offline; only a few are still on standby," Isena continued, shrinking back.
“Um, there’s something I forgot to mention,” Nagasaki Asuna said. “I have a feeling that Leia is lying. The largest ancient ruins are most likely on the World Tree.”
Cheng Fei and Shen Xi looked at her.
"Nana, who is Leia?" the boy asked calmly.
"That elf, I forgot to mention that I exchanged names with her."
"Why didn't you tell us such important information sooner? How dare you lie to us? We should have arrested her." Shen Xi said unhappily.
“Isn’t that a bad idea? She’s innocent after all.” Nagasaki Asuna tilted her head.
Cheng Fei thought for a moment, "Let's forget about Teacher Shen. We have nowhere to detain her anyway."
"She's your prisoner, I thought you'd be even more reluctant to let her go," Shen Xi sneered.
"Teacher Shen, why don't you believe me? You're the only elf I like." The boy was distressed.
"Because she just wants to hear Cheng Fei repeat that sentence," Nagasaki Asuna muttered.
"Really?" the boy asked in surprise.
"You vixen, I'm warning you, stop trying to confuse the issue here. Don't think you can get away with saying things he likes." Shen Xi's face turned cold as she gritted her teeth and glared at Nagasaki Asuna.
"Eh? Okay, I'll shut up then." Nagasaki Asuna's gaze darted back and forth between the two of them before she zipped up her mouth.
……
The three logged off at 7:00 AM.
Cheng Fei yawned as he stood by the bright window, then opened WeChat and sent a message to the high-level discussion group of the Corridor Research Department.
Cheng Fei: "@Shen Xi, little one, come out and have breakfast before you go back to sleep."
Shen Xi: "Refuse"
Cheng Fei: "Don't force me to grab you in bed."
Shen Xi: "You dare?"
Cheng Fei: "Go ahead and try. You think you're right not to eat?"
Shen Xi: "Cheng Fei, don't push your luck."
Asuna Nagasaki: "Seriously, aren't you going to leave me alone?"
Cheng Fei: "You're the same, little one."
Asuna Nagasaki: "Yes~"
Ten minutes later, the three met at a breakfast shop at the intersection, their eyes showing faint dark circles.
"It's wonderful to live in modern society," Nagasaki Asuna exclaimed, taking a sip of mung bean porridge.
311. Cheng Fei felt hopeless about life.
Shen Xi stirred the sweetened eight-treasure porridge with a listless and unhappy expression.
"Sweetie, I'm calling you to eat breakfast because I care about your health. You're already weak, and if you stay up late and don't eat properly, you'll turn into a half-elf." Cheng Fei looked at her with a doting expression.
"Shut up, I'm not at the point of having that kind of genetic defect." Shen Xi kicked him softly.
"Then you'd better eat quickly."
"It's very hot."
"Oh, excuse me, can I blow on it for you?"
"unnecessary."
"Those elves over there are so pitiful. I can easily guess that if they're caught, they'll be turned into breeding machines for producing half-elves," Nagasaki Asuna sighed softly.
"Given that elf's fighting prowess, it should be humans who are afraid," Shen Xi sneered.
“But she was still caught, which means that humans have other means to suppress elves, maybe it’s technology or something. We still don’t have enough information.” Cheng Fei shook his head and put the fried dough stick that had been soaked in soy milk into his mouth.
"Cheng Fei, can I have a piece of the fried dough stick you made?" Nagasaki Asuna pursed her lips.
"Take whatever you want." The boy pushed the bowl forward, feeling a chill. He looked at the source of the chill. "Little cutie, you can take some if you want, but let her eat the fried dough sticks. Don't stare at me with that resentful look that says 'I've let you down for the rest of my life,' okay?"
"Stop being so self-deluded. I just think only you two, who are in cahoots, would be interested in such a disgusting way of eating." Shen Xi glared at him.
"Teacher Shen, thank you for creating this idiom, but soaking fried dough sticks in soy milk is a common way to eat them, okay? If you keep saying that, believe me, I'll soak a fried dough stick in your eight-treasure porridge." The boy pretended to pick up a fried dough stick.
"Cheng Fei, if you dare to do such a thing, this ends here." Shen Xi calmly moved her seat and the eight-treasure porridge away.
"Nana, is she serious?" the boy asked hesitantly.
"It seems like you're serious. Cheng Fei, you'd better not do anything reckless. If you really want some, I can make you some mung bean porridge." Nagasaki Asuna pushed the bowl in front of her forward slightly.
"Thanks, but never mind. Actually, I also think that's disgusting; I was just teasing her."
After the boy finished speaking, he was struck by an elf-level attack under the table.
After a while, the three of them had enough to eat.
"That's all for now. If there's nothing else, I'll be..." Cheng Fei planned to give a concluding speech.
"Please log on as soon as you wake up." Shen Xi said expressionlessly.
"Again?" the boy exclaimed in surprise.
"What's the problem? The most urgent thing is to find out the situation at the crash site as soon as possible." Shen Xi looked at him with an air of unquestionable authority.
"Teacher Shen, don't you have any more pressing and realistic issues to address?"
“The Corridor Research Department currently has three projects, listed in order of priority from highest to lowest: first, explore the crash site; second, create top-tier equipment for me; and third, manufacture humanoid robots.” Shen Xi spoke quickly.
"No matter what, shouldn't the issue of humanoid robots, such a realistic one, be ranked first?"
"Excuse me, that's a topic you're discussing for your own selfish gain. It's already a privilege that I'm bringing it here to talk about. Also, please understand that every topic here is very practical. Nobody does anything without a reason, so please know when to stop."
"Is that realistic? I just feel like you're a girl addicted to the internet, all you do besides eat, sleep, and call people online."
“Actually, I also think we should launch it as soon as possible. I’m worried something might happen to Leia.” Nagasaki Asuna rested her chin on her hands.
"Nana, what's wrong with you too?" The boy's eyes widened as if he had been betrayed.
"Two votes to one, Cheng Fei, please abide by the majority." Shen Xi immediately sneered.
"I can't accept it, why did my life turn out like this?" The boy grabbed his head with both hands.
"Cheng Fei, don't you like playing video games?" Nagasaki Asuna tilted her head.
"I never said I liked playing video games," the boy sighed heavily.
……
Cheng Fei opened his eyes; it was 2 PM.
He went to sleep at eight in the morning and slept for a full six hours.
