Mystery: The Witch of Desire

Pat nodded impatiently:
“I understand the language of the Abyss, and I am a criminal with the Abyss Path Sequence 9.”
“Very good.” Levi clapped his hands in praise. “I will teach you the name of our great master. Listen attentively and then recite it in the language of the Abyss.”
Pat immediately adopted an attentive expression, and unconsciously leaned forward.
Levi, with a calm expression, slowly and deliberately began to read in standard modern Loen:
"A divine child who should not have been born."
A cage of imprisonment and curse.
The filth that erodes history
The great master's agent,
The dominant force of the Rose School.
I beg for your attention.
After saying that, Levi solemnly instructed:
"Remember, when you recite, you must be devout, speak slowly, and feel His presence with your heart."
Pat nodded frantically and immediately knelt before the statue, eager to pray.
“Wait! Do you want to pray in a place like this? This is disrespectful to our great master.”
"I don't want anything terrible to happen after Pat recites the name, causing the entire Kingfisher Bar to be destroyed," Reeves said, feigning seriousness.
Pat immediately showed a look of fear in his eyes:
"Where should I pray?"
Reeve said softly:
"Come with me."
He opened the bedroom door with practiced ease and lifted the hidden door leading to the basement.
Pat's eyes lit up, and his admiration for Levi deepened—there was a hidden door in this room, something he himself was completely unaware of, while Levi knew it all too well.
Levi led him down to the basement, down the sewers, until they reached the corner piled with rotting corpses.
"Pray here, for here lies the best nourishment to offer to our great master."
"Pray here, for this is the sanctuary of the soul of our great master."
The overwhelming aura of desire ignited Pat, instantly driving him into a frenzy. Ignoring the pungent stench of death, he trembled as he placed the statue in the center of the mangled limbs, then knelt on a pool of pus.
Reeve thoughtfully prepared essential oils and candles for him to pray with, and then gave him some instructions:
"First, pray silently in your heart to cleanse yourself of all distracting thoughts, and then formally recite His name. Remember to pause briefly after each phrase before reciting the next one."
He smiled gently, sparing no effort in using his persuasive abilities:
"I will watch over you from the ground, so you can enjoy your time alone with your great master."
Pat nodded in agreement, his eyes filled with awe and reverence as he looked at Rivi, as if he were facing his godfather.
Levi turned and left. After disappearing from Pat's sight, he immediately ran like the wind, afraid of being caught in the crossfire.
“My great master’s son, I have sent you a devout believer. You are welcome.”
He climbed the ladder using both his hands and feet, a mocking smile on his face.
Once Levi returned to the Kingfisher Bar on the ground, he immediately began to execute the next step of the plan.
He saw Mark loitering and waiting in the stairwell.
Reeve took the initiative to step forward and activated his instigation abilities:
"Mark, my brother, could you get me some paper and pen? I want to discuss some ways to make money with you."
Upon hearing this, Mark's greed was instantly aroused, and he quickly found the paper and pen that Levi had asked for.
Reeve continued:
"As long as you sincerely believe in the Great Master, you can earn more money than you can spend in a lifetime."
A hint of doubt flickered in Mark's eyes:
"Great Master?"
Reeve nodded:
"Yes, our great master is our supreme mother. He will give us everything we need. Would you like to join me in praising His name?"
As he spoke, Reeves took a one-pound note out of his pocket and handed it to Mark:
“Look, this is the gift you have received. If you can praise His name, you will receive even more.”
Mark's eyes blazed with greed, his reason crumbled, and he cried out urgently:
"I am willing, I am willing to praise our great master!"
“Very good.” Levi nodded approvingly. “Now, write down your praises for our great master on a piece of paper. I will personally instruct you so that your praises will better suit our great master’s wishes.”
Mark thanked him gratefully, his hand holding the pen trembling slightly.
Levi began to read:
"Lord of desire, great mother, great father, your lamb beseeches your coming, beseeches your coming in XXXX."
Levi wanted to say that he had arrived at the Kingfisher Bar, but he was prevented from speaking by the power of the Book of Notarization.
“Even though the notarized document has been greatly weakened by Ms. B’s ritual magic, I still cannot give any specific information about the Hyena Gang.”
Levi's heart sank, but he was not discouraged; he had already come up with a contingency plan.
He then instigated Mark:
"Next, write it yourself: where do you wish for the great master to descend?"
Mark said, bewildered:
"I hope He will descend into the bathroom and cure my hemorrhoids."
"!? Isn't the instigation too much? This guy has already lost his mind."
Reeves inwardly scoffed, but patiently and gently persuaded her:
"We hope that the Great Master will come to your side, and where are you now?"
Mark looked enlightened:
"I'm at the Kingfisher Bar."
He then wrote, trembling:
"Your lamb prays for your arrival, prays for your arrival at the Kingfisher Bar."
Reeves happily took the written paper, then pulled out a few banknotes and handed them to Mark.
"Alright, your great master has bestowed wealth upon you. Now, forget all of this and treat it as a beautiful dream."
Chapter 75 Dunn's Judgment
With Mark's written prayer to the evil god for his arrival, Levi quickly ran out of the Kingfisher Bar.
At that moment, he felt that the sky was filled with gloom, and there was a faint sign of a violent storm.
His body was seized by a strong desire, and the statue inside him, whose location was unknown, trembled slightly, as if resonating with it.
"Pat began to pray..."
Levi felt both nervous and expectant. Pat's prayers had attracted the attention of the son of the evil god, but he didn't know if his own body could withstand that gaze.
If he can withstand it, Reve will likely have another powerful enemy. Anyway, Sharani and the others are already strong enough, so Reve doesn't care about having one more.
But if he can't withstand it and becomes corrupted, it will inevitably cause widespread destruction. If, at this moment, the eyes of the official extraordinary beings happen to fall on the Kingfisher Tavern...
Public carriages had long since ceased operation for the night. Levi dared not delay, unleashing his full assassin abilities as he raced through the shadows of the streets.
He arrived at a book printing shop on Tieshizi Street and, disregarding all gentlemanly manners, kicked open the door.
An apprentice who was fast asleep was startled awake and immediately had a gun pointed at his head by Reeves:
"Quick, make 100 copies of this flyer! Don't worry, I won't hurt you."
As he spoke, Reeves tossed him several one-pound notes.
Levi was unwilling to waste his spiritual energy in instigating things that could be solved with money.
The apprentice was terrified and immediately began making rubbings without stopping. While the machines on the street were roaring, the Kingfisher Bar on the lower street seemed to be emitting waves of vibration.
"What a loud noise!"
Levi couldn't help but feel a little worried. Although he had taken Pat underground, such a commotion could still affect the girls at the Kingfisher Bar.
He couldn't help but urge the apprentice to speed up his movements.
Under the threat and lure of guns and money, the apprentice worked at the fastest speed he had ever seen, printing a large number of flyers.
Reeve grabbed the flyer, vanished in a flash, and sped off towards Zotland Street.
He continued forward until he was firmly locked in place by the invisible constraints of the notarized document, making it impossible for him to take another step closer.
Zotland Street has always been a safe place, with almost no homeless people.
Levi finally found a drunken homeless man and immediately activated his instigation abilities:
“My brother, go and proclaim the name of the great master, and He will bestow upon you inexhaustible wine and riches.”
The homeless man's cloudy eyes were immediately filled with greed. He mechanically took the flyer and stood up unsteadily.
Levi turned him around so that he was facing the Blackthorn Security Company without making a sound, and then gently pushed him in the back.
The drunk man staggered down the street, occasionally scattering a few flyers from his hand.
After doing all this, Levi quickly returned to the Kingfisher Bar.
If Pat causes too much damage, he must hold him off for a while to minimize casualties.
……
Blackthorn Security Company, second floor.
Dunn sat at his desk, looking solemnly at a telegram he had just received:
[10 Years of Secrets]
Reading permissions: Night Watch Squad Leader/Church Bishop
Tingen Market Night Watchers Squad:
Your report has been received.
According to reliable intelligence, the Rose School is planning a sacrificial ritual to an evil god somewhere along the eastern coast of Rune. To this end, they have dispatched a member codenamed "Nightingale" to transport a crucial item needed for the sacrifice from the Southern Continent to Rune, but its exact destination is currently unknown. "Nightingale" is suspected to be Sequence 6 of the "Diviner" pathway—"Faceless"—possessing the ability to disguise herself and has repeatedly evaded capture by official organizations. Please be extremely vigilant and guard against potential sabotage by the cultists.
Also, due to the recent tense situation in various coastal areas of Ruen, it is difficult to send manpower to provide support. Please understand.
Ahowa County Police Department
Dunn put away the telegram and repeatedly pondered every word in the short message.
The Rose School, the Evil God, the Faceless Man...
Just then, his spiritual intuition stirred slightly; there seemed to be some movement outside the silent window.
He got up and walked to the window, his deep eyes gazing at the dark street:
A drunken man was staggering along, scattering flyers as he went.
Dunn walked down the stairs, onto the street, picked up a flyer, and his gaze suddenly sharpened:
Lord of desire, great mother, great father, your lamb beseeches your coming, beseeches your coming to the Kingfisher Bar!
"This is……"
The leaflet clearly stated a prayer to a certain being. However, these strange prayers did not refer to any of the seven righteous gods. Could it be a prayer to an evil god?
"The master of desire..."
Dunn scrutinized those words repeatedly, and recalling the mention of the evil god's descent ritual in the telegram, a chill ran down his spine.
"As for the Kingfisher Bar, an accident occurred that resulted in several deaths. The Punisher team didn't find anything, but Daly told me that there seemed to be something wrong there..."
