"It sounds a bit like a law of physics, but in all laws of physics, energy always flows from higher objects to lower objects, such as the law of heat transfer and the law of entropy, because objects always spontaneously transform towards a steady state. But when it comes to extraordinary objects, it's exactly the opposite. Why is that?"

After thinking about it for a while, Levi felt that it was worth studying and that the relevant knowledge would likely bring him great benefits in the future.

He then looked at the next item;

'The taste of a witch is really quite good.'

"Um... Did something happen between Emperor Roselle and that being called a witch? Hmm... It couldn't be *that* kind of thing, could it? Would a normal person write that kind of thing in their diary? If it got exposed, wouldn't they be dead? But Emperor Roselle believed that writing in Chinese was absolutely safe, so it's not impossible that he wrote that kind of experience in his diary... By the way, what is this witch? Is it the name of some sequence? Or some kind of profession? Never mind, it doesn't seem to have any research value, so I won't think about it too much."

Reeve made a few complaints about Rosell, then began analyzing the last point:

"Hmm, this one should be the most valuable. Emperor Roselle made a second Blasphemy card, turned it into a bookmark, and tucked it into a book. What is a Blasphemy card? It sounds pretty sophisticated. Speaking of cards related to Roselle, they are the Tarot cards he 'invented.' Is this Blasphemy card related to the Tarot? In any case, we can keep an eye out for the books left behind by Emperor Roselle. If we can find this second Blasphemy card there, it will be a huge find."

After finishing reading and analyzing the entire diary, Levi put it away with satisfaction, placing it together with the diary he had obtained last time, and lay in bed to slowly savor it.

After a while, he noticed that the dining table and kitchen were unchanged from the morning—it was already afternoon, and Emily must not have gone home for lunch, but had eaten directly at Mr. Teyvat's house.

The thought that Mr. Teyvat might be involved with the Hyena Gang made Levi somewhat worried. He got out of bed and headed to Mr. Teyvat's house to investigate the situation.

Half an hour later, Levi arrived at a luxury villa in the Golden Phoenix District. This is a well-known wealthy area in Tingen City, under the jurisdiction of the Night Watchers. Both its security and environment are far superior to those of the middle class and the poor.

The villa's exterior is constructed of light gray granite, complemented by rounded, dark vaulted ceilings, with several small spires standing quietly outside the main building. A wrought-iron, ornate fence surrounds the courtyard, and a smooth stone driveway leads to the entrance, flanked by neatly trimmed yew hedges, marble statues, and tranquil flowerbeds. The spacious courtyard features a well-maintained lawn, with servants' quarters and stables on one side; everything is orderly and undisturbed.

"No wonder this is a wealthy area. An ordinary person would have to work for several lifetimes to earn the same amount of money as this house."

Reeves sighed inwardly, then suddenly realized that this house was probably only worth about the same as the pirate Danitz he had met that morning, and that the Instigator Potion he had drunk would probably cost about a third of the villa's value!

"Extraordinary World is really expensive."

Levi sighed inwardly, then pretended to take a stroll and began to scout around the villa. Although there were two servants working in the villa's courtyard, they were clearly ordinary people and did not notice Levi's spying.

Levi first caught a glimpse of Emily through the window. She was sitting opposite a well-dressed young girl, earnestly explaining her lessons to her. However, the girl seemed somewhat distracted, her eyes constantly glancing out the window, as if longing for the outside world.

"That young lady must be Mr. Teyvat's daughter, Elizabeth? She's certainly a pampered heiress, but she doesn't seem to enjoy studying much."

Levi silently grumbled, and after a while, he finally spotted Mr. Teyvat again—he was wearing an elegant, long, casual suit, standing by the large French windows in the living room, holding a wine glass, and talking to several guests.

Levi concentrated, curled his tongue, opened his spiritual vision, and began to observe Mr. Teyvat's body.

To Reeves' delight, after being promoted to Instigator, his spiritual vision had also greatly improved. The objects he observed no longer appeared as a uniform red mass, but rather as different layers and parts of the body displaying different colors. Mr. Teyvat's body, for example, displayed a vibrant array of colors, appearing healthy and without any abnormalities.

"The distance is a bit far, so my psychic vision can't see anything too specific, nor can it tell whether Mr. Teyvat is an extraordinary being..."

Levi muttered to himself as he continued to observe.

As evening approached, students and gentlemen returning to the neighborhood began to arrive, and a simply dressed young woman was greeted at the door of Mr. Teyvat's villa.

Chapter 69 Melissa (Please continue reading)

She was young, with fair and clean skin, soft light brown hair, and delicate features. Her eyes and brows held a scholarly air and a serious demeanor. She wore a neatly washed but not luxurious dark dress made of ordinary fabric without any unnecessary embellishments.

She tiptoed and pressed the doorbell, then clasped her hands together in front of her and waited quietly, her demeanor composed yet slightly reserved.

After a moment, a servant opened the door and greeted him with a warm smile:

"Miss Melissa, you've arrived."

Melissa blushed slightly:

"Yes, Elizabeth said she hired an excellent tutor, who is also a mechanical engineering student, so she asked me to come and listen to that teacher's lecture."

The servant smiled and nodded, welcoming Melissa inside.

"That girl is quite cute. Is she Elizabeth's classmate? Hmm... Emily seems to be doing a good job. She's been recognized as an excellent governess by her employer so quickly."

Reeves soon noticed Melissa on the table by the window. Unlike Elizabeth, Melissa listened attentively and occasionally chatted with Elizabeth, appearing very eager to learn.

"As things stand, there seems to be nothing unusual at Mr. Tewat’s house. Of course, I haven’t entered his house and my investigation is not thorough enough, so it’s too early to draw conclusions."

Reeve observed for a while longer before returning to University Street. He bought some fresh lamb and fish at the market, then busied himself preparing dinner at home.

Around seven o'clock, Emily returned home and saw the stewed lamb with peas, pan-fried fish and meat, and white bread spread with honey laid out on the table. She couldn't help but exclaim in delight:

"Riveh, have you prepared dinner?"

In Emily's mind, Levi's cooking skills improved by leaps and bounds in the past six months. Before that, she had basically taken care of all the dinners at home by herself.

Reeve nodded and smiled:

"Yes, come and eat. But, doesn't Mr. Teyvat's daughter need to go to school? Why do you tutor her until so late every day?"

Emily helped Reeves set the table while replying with a wry smile:

"She has already enrolled in Ivory School, but her foundation is relatively weak, so she needs a long period of tutoring before she officially enrolls. However, the girl's heart does not seem to be in her studies. She spends all day reading magazines such as 'Spiritual Scripture' and 'Magic Mirror,' and is obsessed with so-called occult knowledge, which really gives me, her teacher, a headache."

"This is not a good habit..."

Reeves raised an eyebrow, wondering if Elizabeth's fascination with occult knowledge was influenced by her father.

"Hmm... what do you think of Mr. Teyvat?"

Emily answered without much thought:

"He's quite good. Although he's a follower of the Lord of Storms, he's still a gentleman to his wife, daughters, and other women. He's also willing to let his daughter receive an education, which is better than many others."

"I heard that his business is very extensive, even extending overseas?"

While picking the fine bones off the fish, Levi asked casually.

Emily looked up this time, thought for a moment, and then answered:

"Perhaps, I don't know much about it. Teyvat rarely talks about business with his wife and daughters."

Then, she smiled and looked at Reeves:

"You seem quite interested in Mr. Teyvat?"

Reeve coughed awkwardly a few times:

"No, I just want to know more about your employer, otherwise I'm always worried about you."

Emily smiled upon hearing this:

"In that case, how about attending Mr. Teyvat's ball this Friday? He invited me and said I could bring my family. I was thinking you wouldn't be interested in something like this..."

Levi was secretly delighted; this was an excellent opportunity for investigation! On the surface, however, he pretended to be indifferent:

"Really? I do lack interest in these things, but we've already transitioned from school to the workforce and will inevitably face social situations from time to time. So, having the opportunity to attend a ball at an upper-class family's house isn't a bad thing. Hmm, I should be free on Friday anyway..."

Before Levi could finish speaking, Emily covered her mouth and laughed:

“You’ve really thought a lot through, Mr. Reeves. In that case, I’ll go pick out a well-fitting suit for you. I’ll take your measurements after dinner.”

Levi smiled somewhat embarrassedly and nodded slightly.

After dinner, Reeves and Emily cleared the table together. Then, Emily took Reeves' measurements and was surprised to find that Reeves' bust had increased slightly while his waist had decreased slightly. This made Emily quite jealous, while Reeves was troubled, wondering if it was the result of his vanity.

Afterwards, the two learned some high society ballroom etiquette and basic ballroom dance steps together before returning to bed to rest.

Lying in bed, Levi recalled his experiences since becoming an Extraordinary, consolidating the knowledge he had acquired and reflecting on what he had done wrong.

"Although I haven't been an Extraordinary for long, a lot has really happened..."

Reeves couldn't help but think of Rowling again, wondering where she was now, how she was doing, and whether she had escaped Tingen safely. And the young woman—after he and Rowling left, were they back in their miserable state...?

"Let's find a chance to go and take a look at the Kingfisher Bar."

……

The next morning.

Levi arrived at the Sail Tavern in the dock area early and handed over the information to the bartender that Mr. Teyvat would be hosting a ball on Friday night.

Then, he returned to the Flamingo Bar and found Ms. B.

“I feel like we’ve been seeing each other too often lately, which gives me the illusion that we’re in a relationship.”

Ms. B leaned back leisurely in the recliner, her eyes full of smiles.

Reeves was no longer that innocent boy, and he continued without the slightest blush:

"I would like to ask you to perform these two divinations for me, and I can pay you for it."

“I don’t think you have anything to offer in return right now.”

As Ms. B spoke, she took out a small mirror.

Levi smiled and tentatively asked:

"You can owe it to me for now, or you can attribute it to 'a gift of fate'."

Upon hearing this, Ms. B's smile vanished, replaced by a serious expression:

"You must understand that the gifts you receive come from fate, not from me."

Upon hearing this, Levi's heart skipped a beat. So, there really was an invisible hand behind Ms. B...

Ms. B did not continue the topic of gifts, but instead asked:

"A magic mirror reading costs £10 for one reading, £20 for two. Tell me, what do you want to know?"

Chapter 70 Rowling's Current Situation

Levi said after careful consideration:

"First, let's divine the fate of a woman named Rowling. How is she doing lately? Is she in any danger?"

Ms. B was taken aback upon hearing this, then a mocking smile appeared on her lips:

“Oh dear, you actually care about another woman? I’m getting jealous. However, I don’t know much about that woman named Rowling. With just that little knowledge, I can’t establish a occult connection with her. Therefore, I can’t help you with divination about her unless you have her blood or hair or something else that can be used as a medium.”

Levi nodded upon hearing this. He had already anticipated the limitations of the Magic Mirror divination, so he wasn't too disappointed. He continued:

"Secondly, I plan to go to the Kingfisher Bar. Could you please do a divination to see if there will be any danger on this trip?"

Ms. B raised an eyebrow:

"Are you going back to Kingfisher Bar?"

She received an affirmation from Levi's silence, and a hesitant expression appeared on her beautiful face.

In the end, she said nothing and placed her hand on the mirror.

After a gathering of spiritual energy, the mirror surface rippled slightly, but soon the ripples disappeared completely.

"The divination indicates some danger, but not great. However, I must remind you that things may not necessarily go as the divination suggests. If you make a wrong choice, it is very likely that the outcome will take a different turn."

Ms. B put away the mirror and gave an explanation of the divination results.

Levi nodded, feeling more confident about going to the Kingfisher Bar. He figured that as long as he was careful, there shouldn't be any major problems.

He got up to leave:

"Thank you for your reading. Consider the 10 pounds I owe you."

Ms. B smiled quietly, and after a while, she took out a stack of £10 notes from her pocket, counted out nine, and handed them to Reeves.

"This is the reward for inquiring about goods in the Southern Continent. After deducting the cost of divination, there are still 90 pounds left."

Levi paused for a moment, then accepted the money with some relief.

He had already taken it upon himself to fight the Hyena Gang, so he hadn't thought about the reward before. Fortunately, Ms. B brought it up herself.

After thanking him again, Levi left the Flamingo Bar.

After Reeves left, Ms. B sat quietly in her chair, her expression somber, lost in thought.

After a moment, she placed her hand on the mirror again, gathered her spiritual energy, and whispered:

"Lowry Augustus's current situation..."

The mirror surface rapidly changed, eventually settling into a blurry image:

That was Rowling, looking haggard. She was lying in a cold basement, surrounded by a jumble of materials, her brow furrowed as she stared at the ceiling.

……

Reeves boarded a public carriage and arrived at the safe house on Iron Cross Street. He changed into women's clothing under his men's attire for easy disguise, and then attached a large fake mustache above his lips. As a result, unless viewed up close, it was difficult to reconcile him with the Reeves on the wanted poster.

After disguising himself, Levi walked to the Kingfisher Bar on the lower street.

It wasn't night yet, and the bar wasn't crowded. Levi casually strolled around the bar, but noticed something unusual:

It's too quiet.

In the past, even during the day, the girls at Kingfisher Bar would sit at the entrance chatting or browse the surrounding shops, buying cosmetics, snacks, and other trinkets.

But now, there wasn't a single woman in sight; only two thugs stood like door gods at the entrance, their expressions tense.
