"I'm here."
"Come with me to see them."
"it is good."
Nomiyama lifted the fur covering him and casually took down the magic robe hanging at the head of his bed.
He put on his magic robe, stepped barefoot onto the floor, reached out and pulled her to his side, then pushed open the door and went out.
After going outside, he glanced at the wind and snow outside the valley, squatted down, and waited for her to come up.
Eriri Sawamura leaned over him, holding him tightly, and whispered, "Kazehaya, aren't you wearing shoes?"
Nomiyama shook his head: "I'll stomp it to pieces."
"Are you done?"
"All right."
As soon as they finished speaking, the two disappeared from the valley, crossed the wind and snow, and headed towards the manor.
Upon arriving at the large door, the two did not wait for anyone to open it this time; instead, Eriri burned the lock directly.
Pushing open the door, Nomiyama carried Eriri inside. He walked through the somewhat familiar corridor and arrived at the reception room.
Nomiyama glanced at the living room, then crouched down slightly and put Eriri down.
He reached out and ruffled Eriri's hair: "Go on, they're on the second floor, in their bedroom."
Eriri Sawamura said softly, "Mmm."
Wearing her little leather shoes, she walked through the living room, making a clicking sound as she went upstairs.
Nomiyama watched her disappear around the corner of the stairs, then turned and walked towards the fireplace at the other end of the dining table.
I also grabbed a pot of black tea from the food cart.
He looked at the crackling wood and gulped down a few mouthfuls of red tea.
Mm, it still tastes great.
Turning her head, Nomiyama looked at the person standing silently at the other end of the dining table, wearing that white nightgown.
They stared at each other in silence.
Yukino Yukinoshita's voice trembled slightly: "You knew about this, but you didn't tell me."
Nomiyama nodded: "Yes, I'm afraid you won't agree."
They were separated by a long dining table made of rosewood, with clear and beautiful stripes. It is one of the best furniture woods, and without any special design, it has a classic furniture aesthetic as long as it is placed there.
The exquisite tableware and teacups are no longer on the table, as other items take up more space.
There were more than a dozen people on it, a whole family, all neatly arranged.
They lay peacefully, for they were dead.
Yukino Yukinoshita looked at him blocking the fireplace, and it seemed that he was blocking the warmth from her, so she felt a little cold.
Her gaze fell on the dozen or so people, and her voice carried an unspeakable emotion: "When did you find out?"
Nomiyama looked at her, reached out, and picked up the teapot.
"In the afternoon, I felt that the aroma of the tea was slightly different from usual, with a strange sense of familiarity, so I tried the taste. My body works very well, after all, I only have a body."
Yukino Yukinoshita closed her eyes: "Where's Eriri?"
Nomiyama shook his head: "I don't know when she found out, but she's the one who's closer to them and more familiar with them, so it's normal for her to find out."
Yukino Yukinoshita murmured, "Why didn't you stop them?"
Nomiyama turned his head and looked at a room on the second floor: "Maybe they've been waiting here for so long, even to the point of death, just for this last chance."
“I don’t care what their story is with the family at the table, maybe it’s obscure, complicated, or full of hatred, but none of that matters. They’ve been very kind to us, so I’m not stopping them.”
Yukino Yukinoshita opened her eyes, looked up at the second floor, and took a slight step.
Nomiyama appeared in front of her and took a deep breath: "Eri is there, she'll handle it."
Yukino's lips trembled slightly.
Those two old people are dead.
Her expression hardened: "This shouldn't be happening. Stop it! This family can live, and Grandpa Ivan and Grandma Sasha can live too."
Nomiyama said calmly, “But this is what they expected. They achieved their goal. Their beloved granddaughter is seeing them off, and they can travel together.”
"Nomi Yamakaze Haya..." Yukino Yukinoshita's aura surged, and she took a step forward. "Do you know what you're doing?"
Nomiyama looked at her calmly, without backing down.
"At the time, we didn't intend for anyone to stop us."
Yukino Yukinoshita's breathing became disordered for a moment, and she looked at him blankly.
With a clattering sound, Eriri Sawamura walked down the stairs step by step in her little leather shoes. She was still wearing that light yellow nightgown, but her hair was tied up again in pigtails with a white headband.
She looked at the two people facing each other, waved her hand, and handed a large stack of floating books on her left to Yukino: "These are books that Grandpa Ivan reads himself, with his personal annotations. They are a gift for you."
After she finished speaking, she looked at the other person, reached out, and a notebook flew towards him: "This is from Grandma Sasha. She only knows that you like to eat and cook. This is her recipe."
Finally, she tossed two white winter hats over: "Grandma Sasha made these for you. She also asked me to apologize for not having time to eat the fruits and vegetables we had this afternoon."
Yukino Yukinoshita suspended the book beside her, then took the winter hat. She looked at Eriri's red eyes, her expression still somewhat bewildered.
Nomiyama put on his hat and looked at Eriri: "What do you want to do?"
Eriri Sawamura glanced at the gasoline trail stretching from the dining table to the second floor, then walked towards the manor gate first: "Burn it."
Nomiyama took Yukinoshita's hand and followed her.
When she reached the door, Eriri Sawamura glanced back, and a few seconds later, she lit a beam of light.
Nomiyama glanced back at the burning living room, then silently led Yukino away from the manor.
The three stood on the snow outside the manor, with Eriri Sawamura at the front and the other two watching behind her.
They stood in the wind and snow, with flames shooting into the sky in front of them, as someone kept adding fuel to the fire, seemingly eager to burn everything in front of them to ashes.
Amidst the sounds of wind and fire, the blonde girl's voice was not distinct, but it could still be heard.
"Kazehaya, did I do the right thing?"
Nomiyama looked at her; she was looking at the burning manor, her figure appearing thin in the wind, but her back was very straight and her head was held high.
“I don’t judge right or wrong, but if there is sin, don’t be afraid, we are both sinners this time.”
"Really? That does sound alright."
Eriri Sawamura turned around and smiled.
Yes, she was smiling, even though tears were streaming down her face, it was indeed a smile.
She seemed relieved, no longer looking at the burning manor behind her, and walked towards him: "Kazehaya, carry me home."
Nomiyama tightened his winter hat and squatted down: "This is the last time."
Eriri Sawamura leaned over and said, "You'll still carry it next time."
Nomiyama pouted and tightened his grip: "I'll definitely refuse you next time."
"You won't."
Eriri Sawamura turned her head and looked at Yukino, who had been silent since earlier: "Let's go home, Yukino."
Yukino Yukinoshita glanced at them with a complicated expression, then turned to look at the manor still burning in the wind and snow.
She reached out and put on her winter hat, tightening it slightly.
"Ah."
......
That night felt like an interlude, like a brief, fleeting note in a movie.
After the interlude, the movie continued playing as usual.
Their lives haven't changed much, except that there are some leftover fruits and vegetables in the garden, and they no longer have anyone to talk to except each other.
"Eriri, are you sure this is okay?"
Nomiyama used chopsticks to stir the meat slices with one hand, while smearing seasonings with the other.
Eriri Sawamura sat opposite him, swallowing hard. "What could be wrong with it? It conducts heat so well, it would be a shame not to use it for grilling meat. It's fine, we can just wash it later."
They are grilling meat right now, using a makeshift grill.
Two stones, a fire between them, a sword in the stone on top of the fire, and slices of meat on top of the sword.
The Sword in the Stone is a very wide and thin Western-style greatsword.
Nomiyama reached out, picked up a piece, put it in his mouth, chewed, swallowed, and nodded: "Hmm, all done."
So the people on the other side began to feast.
Nomiyama glanced at her, then at the barbecue grill, and asked curiously, "What do you think those British people would think if they knew you were using your family heirloom for something like this?"
“Hmm.” Eriri Sawamura puffed out her cheeks. “I guess they’ll be thinking things like, ‘What’s the deeper meaning behind my king’s actions?’”
"They're really weird."
Yukino Yukinoshita walked into the valley carrying the fish she had just caught. She looked at the two people sitting and grilling meat, then glanced at the sword, and said helplessly, "If you really wanted to eat grilled meat, you could have just told me. Making a grill isn't difficult."
Nomiyama stopped what he was doing, thought for a moment, and then said casually, "I forgot."
Eriri Sawamura scratched her head: "I just think this thing is pretty convenient for grilling meat."
Yukino Yukinoshita approached them carrying a fish, glanced down at the oily sheen on the sword, and handed them a piece of cod: "Prepare the fish too."
"Oh." Nomiyama picked up the fish, turned around, and began to process it on the cutting board behind him.
He gutted the fish with natural movements, and casually asked them, "Would you like sashimi or grilled fish?"
Yukino Yukinoshita picked up a wooden stool and sat down: "Since we're grilling, then of course it'll be grilled fish."
"Ah."
Nomiyama sliced a plate of fish and placed it to the side, then sat down and placed a few slices on the blade of his sword: "Actually, this stuff is really good for making a grill. It has a kind of, alternative kind of pleasure."
Yukino glanced at him, who had a wicked sense of humor, reached out, picked up a piece of meat, and put it in her mouth.
She chewed, glancing subconsciously at the sword in the stone, and then subconsciously thinking of the legends surrounding it.
Without saying a word, she picked up another piece.
Nomiyama sprinkled on the seasoning, flipped the fish slices over, and after a couple of seconds, he moved his chopsticks and picked them up for them.
He reached out, picked up his portion, and stuffed it into his mouth.
While chewing, he turned his head to look to the side, then quietly looked away.
Continue grilling fish for them.
Eriri Sawamura silently sped up her eating, as if afraid that the meat slices would be snatched away.
Yukino Yukinoshita glanced at him, who seemed normal, but said nothing.
Nomiyama propped his face up and flipped the slice of meat over with one hand.
He seemed to have thought of something: "Speaking of which, do you want to eat musk oxen? We should be able to catch one if we go further away."
"Eat!" Eriri Sawamura was the first to raise her hand.
"Whatever you say," Yukino Yukinoshita replied simply.
"Okay, I'll go for a walk then."
Nomiyama stood up and stretched.
Yukino Yukinoshita took over his work and began flipping the slices of meat and fish on the sword.
Eriri Sawamura glanced at him, but ignored him and quietly waited for the other person to grill their meat.
......
Nomiyama crossed the Arctic Ocean to Greenland and captured a musk ox, but instead of returning immediately, he took the ox and went to the vicinity of the Arctic.
He casually tossed the musk ox aside, then used it as a pillow, lying on the Arctic glacier in a daze.
