After she came up, he stood up and continued walking along the street against the cold wind.
Hiratsuka Shizuka glanced at him sideways. The lower half of his cheeks was mostly tucked into his scarf. His nose was high and straight, and the tip of his nose was slightly red, probably from the wind. He looked kind of cute, and I wanted to pinch it and play with it.
But she suppressed that thought, shrank further into her scarf, and said in a low voice, "What movie were you talking about watching?"
Passing through the orange-lit area of Nomiyama Road, I stepped into a grove of trees, and a voice echoed in the wind: "What do you want to live?" by Hayao Miyazaki.
"Wasn't this movie supposed to be released during the summer?"
"What? I can't relive it?"
"Whatever you want."
"Let's not go out drinking before the New Year. I want to stay indoors and spend the winter in a kotatsu."
"Oh, I know."
"Hiratsuka Shizuka, when are you going to quit drinking?"
He asked the question for the second time tonight.
"It should be possible in about two years, or maybe five or six years."
Hiratsuka Shizuka gave a general answer this time.
"Okay, fine."
Nomiyama stepped back into the orange light. He glanced at her apartment not far away and said softly, "Hiratsuka Shizuka."
"Ok?"
"You've suddenly gained weight."
"So what if you get heavier? Can't you carry it?"
"I can carry it on my back."
......
"I am back."
Welcome home.
This time, Yukinoshita Miyami didn't rush over. Instead, she reached out to help him take off his down jacket and asked, "Is Hiratsuka-sensei alright?"
Nomiyama changed into slippers and walked into the living room: "What could be wrong with her? She probably felt sad because she was still single and thought about things that were unattainable, so she just got drunk."
Yukinoshita Miyazaki hung his clothes on the hanger, then followed him curiously: "You mean Hiratsuka-sensei? What's that?"
Nomiyama shrank into the kotatsu, peeking out to watch TV: "It's probably about things that can't be easily said, secrets that everyone keeps hidden in their hearts."
"I see." Yukinoshita Miyami snuggled into the kotatsu, lay down beside him, and gently hugged him.
Nomiyama didn't react to her actions; these things had actually become a habit for the two of them.
Looking down at the kotatsu, he asked curiously, "Where did you get such a big kotatsu table? It's even bigger than the one at my house."
“You’ve grown a lot taller, haven’t you? The one at home isn’t big enough for you to stretch out, so I had this one custom-made,” Yukinoshita Miyami replied softly.
"Well, it's fine."
Nomiyama held out the remote control and switched channels on the TV.
Yukinoshita Miyabi inhaled his fresh scent and said, "I've downloaded 'How Do You Live?'. If Kazehaya wants to read it, you can read it now."
"Okay, thank you for your help."
"Fengzhao, you don't need to bother me with all this trouble."
Nomiyama pulled up the cached video and brought up something: "Miyayu, come with me on a trip in a couple of days."
"Ah." Yukinoshita Miyami looked at him, pondering how to refuse.
"Going to the shrine to pray for blessings, or rather, just going there to buy a couple of amulets. I have things I want to do after the New Year, so I don't want to go. I'll just go through the motions before the New Year, at least it's part of the New Year's routine."
Nomiyama turned around and looked at her: "Didn't you say before that we would go to the New Year's blessing ceremony together from now on?"
Yukinoshita Miyami felt her eyes stinging, and realized she couldn't disobey him, so she lowered her eyes and said softly, "Okay, I'll listen to you."
Nomiyama leaned in and bit her lips twice, then turned his back again.
See a movie.
"Kazehaya..." The voice sounded somewhat resentful.
"Ah."
"Why wasn't it a kiss..." Her voice became even more resentful.
"Because every time we kiss, you're like a vampire, unwilling to let go."
Nomiyama gave her an answer that made her blush with embarrassment.
Then he gave another answer.
"Mainly because the movie has started."
Lift your foot.
For the first time in her life, Yukinoshita Miyami mustered the courage to kick him.
......
"Gong Yu, these things are useless, so why do people still come to ask for them?"
Nomiyama stood on the steps of the shrine, holding an amulet in his hand. After glancing at it twice, he casually stuffed it into his pocket.
Unlike him, Yukinoshita Miyami was not casual about it; instead, she carefully treasured it in her small bag.
After hearing his words, she thought for a moment: "Because the future is unknown, people can't know the future, so they can only turn to the gods to give themselves some peace of mind."
Nomiyama glanced at her; she was wearing a rather inexpensive blue and white kimono, a gift from him; however, for some reason, she still managed to make the kimono look elegant.
Gong Yu is like this: in formal occasions and formal attire, even if she tries her best to conceal it, she still unconsciously exudes an extraordinary air of nobility.
His eyes darted around, and he said, "I thought you would say that this is one of the ways people communicate their feelings, and that although customs are meaningless, they should be respected."
Yukinoshita Miyami stood beside him, hooked her finger around his, and smiled faintly: "Because I'm waiting for Kazehaya to say it, and also, I recently learned that exchanging amulets is a kind of custom."
Nomiyama pulled her a few steps to make way for the surging crowd, and looked at her with some curiosity: "What custom?"
Yukinoshita Miyabi's gaze was intense: "Once we exchange, it's for a lifetime."
Nomiyama sighed: "They talk about life and death all the time, and ten or twenty years pass in the blink of an eye. They casually say 'a lifetime'."
"Gong Yu, you are really a bit scary."
As he spoke, he took out his protective charm and handed it over.
Yukinoshita Miyami looked at the things handed to her and quickly reached for her small bag.
Nomiyama looked at her, his eyes softened, and he turned his head to continue watching the endless stream of people coming to pray to the gods.
People come to pray to gods and Buddhas with money, but the gods and Buddhas are all vulgar and have no way of being effective. It's better to say they just come to seek peace of mind.
Taking the amulet from Miyabi, Nomiyama stepped forward and pulled her outside: "Let's go, let's also prepare some ingredients, after all, the New Year is coming soon."
Yuki followed closely behind, saying, "Mmm."
"Is there anywhere you'd like to go? After all, it's rare for us to get together."
"Um, I think..."
"Ok?"
"I want to play arcade games..."
"?"
Nomiyama was taken aback and didn't react for a moment.
I can understand dating spots like aquariums and movie theaters. I've been to Ferris wheels before, but going back isn't out of the question. What do you mean by arcade?
Yukinoshita Miyami lowered her head and spoke even softer: "I've actually been to places like aquariums and movie theaters by myself before, but I've never been to an arcade."
Of course you've never been there. From every angle, such a place is not suitable for a refined young lady like you to go alone.
Nomiyama silently complained in his heart, then took her hand tightly and strode forward: "Let's go then. I'm very good at this. I'll show you what the number one arcade master in Chiba City is like."
Yukinoshita Miyabi looked at his sparkling eyes, smiled, and followed him.
I'm not really interested, but he said last time that he learned all his motorcycle skills at the arcade, so it seems like he really enjoys going there.
As long as he's happy, that's the most important thing.
......
Yukino Yukinoshita withdrew her gaze from the crowd and stopped looking.
I had a fleeting illusion of seeing wild mushrooms, but upon closer inspection, I realized they were all strangers.
That's true. Given that guy's personality, he'd probably just stay huddled under the kotatsu watching TV and spacing out in the winter. How could he possibly go out to visit a shrine? After all, he used to be a god himself, so he doesn't really have any customs or beliefs.
I should go see him sooner rather than later, so he won't be bored at home.
"Hehe, what is Yukino planning to ask for this time?" Yukinoshita Haruno took a few steps and took her sister's hand as they walked forward.
"What else could there be besides love between men and women, affection and love, liking and loving?" Eriri Sawamura said, biting into a candied hawthorn.
"Eri, you can't be so mean," Sawamura Sayuri said, rubbing her daughter's head helplessly.
“Sayuri-neechan, Eriri was just saying what she wanted; it wasn’t mean.” Yukino Yukinoshita smiled. “Sayuri-neechan, it’s been a long time.”
Eriri Sawamura pulled her mother away and stood on the other side: "You should call her Auntie according to the hierarchy of elders."
"Oh?" Yukino Yukinoshita's smile widened as she looked past her at the other person. "Sayuri-neechan, look at what Eriri said."
Sawamura Sayuri rubbed her temples in exasperation.
Yukino Yukinoshita stopped arguing with Eriri and turned to look at the shrine not far away.
Amulet for the New Year.
Eriri is right, it is indeed a wish to stay with him forever.
"boom!!"
The four of them stood still for a moment, then pulled out their phones.
It wasn't to film a video; it was to notify subordinates and the hospital to come and rescue people.
The shrine collapsed.
......
"Is it fun?"
Nomiyama swallowed the bamboo shoot and looked at her beside him.
"Mmm! It's fun!" Yukinoshita Miyami hugged a large teddy bear and smiled brightly.
"That's good." Nomiyama picked out another bamboo shoot and took a bite.
"I want it." Yukinoshita Miyami stared at the half-eaten bamboo shoot and said without hesitation.
Nomiyama looked into the cup and realized it was the last piece of bamboo shoot, so he handed it over, saying, "You're lucky. This is my favorite."
Yukinoshita Miyabi took a bite, tilted her head to chew, and squinted her eyes without saying a word.
They were waiting for the tram at the tram stop. Perhaps because it was close to the Lunar New Year, there were only a few people scattered around the platform, making it seem rather desolate.
Fortunately, there was wind. The cold, biting winter wind, no longer obstructed by buildings, found the most suitable passage for it to travel through, howling on the platform as if it had already filled the entire platform.
"Damn winter, there's only wind and no snow."
Nomiyama muttered something to himself, took Miyabi's hand, and stepped onto the tram.
He glanced at the empty carriage, pulled Gong Yu to sit down casually, and then continued preparing the oden.
Yukinoshita Miyazaki hugged the large polar bear tightly, her eyes wide as she asked, "Didn't Kazehaya love winter the most?"
Nomiyama glanced at her and swallowed his food: "I like snowy winters, they're prettier. This year seems a bit unusual, Chiba always has snow in previous years."
"Perhaps, this year is a little different?" Yukinoshita Miyami's voice was uncertain.
"Maybe." Nomiyama shook his head, stopped thinking about it, and took out his phone to check the messages.
"Huh?" He clearly showed surprise.
