The Alpha's Return

A few minutes later, the door burst open as Michael came back in. Lucas turned his head to look at the new arrival. It was a girl, as cute as a flower. She hurried behind Michael with a box in her hand. It was clearly a first aid box. Michael sat in the chair to the side, and said,

"Patch him up Maria. I don't want him to ruin my carpet any longer.". He took a cigar on the table to his side and lit it up. He started smoking it.

"Really? I am dying here, and you are having a cigar?", Lucas said, wheezing.

"You won't die upon me.. You have the tenacity of a cockroach.", Michael waved his hand. Maria, meanwhile, stepped forward. She bent over to look at all the damage done. But, the moment that her hand touched Lucas' body, she scowled. Her eyes turned yellow, and her face turned from that of a human's to something different. Grey hair started seeping from the edges of her face. She fell back as she howled once more.

"What happened Maria? You don't usually turn like this. Lucas, what did you do to her?", Michael asked as he got up to check on Maria to make sure that nothing happened to her.

"I didn't do anything. It could be Fenrir. Scaring off even the help that I need. What the hell is his problem? She isn't a part of my pack, Michael. She is a werewolf facing one of the oldest werewolves in existence. She is going to face bloodline suppression. She isn't used to that.", Lucas explained as he coughed out more blood.

Michael spread his arms in regret. "My carpet! Oh god, I should have told you guys to lay down a plastic sheet below him. This is going to be a permanent stain for sure." he wailed.

"Don't worry Maria. He isn't going to harm you. Just clean him up. Bandage him, that's all. Especially clean the huge hole in his chest before it closes up. Better remove that wolfsbane or it can cause some problems in the future.", he told her. She nodded meekly as she went back near Lucas. Lucas smiled back at her.

Maria took out a pair of scissors and some cotton. Putting the cotton between the scissors, she started cleaning out the huge gaping hole in Lucas' chest. This was a truly interesting sight to see. That big a hole would definitely bring death to anyone, even a werewolf. But, seeing someone alive after facing such an injury was mind boggling to Maria, a nurse.

The cotton swab turned red very soon, but there was another very interesting color that did not mix with the blood. It was a bright yellow, and it felt like the blood repulsed it to it's best ability.

"This is a very rare variant of wolfsbane. It can only be found in the deserts of Africa, and even there, it is very rare. Whoever wanted to kill this man, he did a very thorough job boss. This alone could cost him more than this entire building.", Maria told Michael.

"Ha! Well, it looks like your life is very valuable Lucas. Sometimes, even I am very tempted to kill you.", Michael laughed.

Lucas rolled his eyes, and Maria continued cleaning up Lucas. An hour of cleaning the wounds, and patching him up with bandages, Lucas was finally looking like a human, and not like a bloody(quite literally, not an insult) corpse. With all of the blood out, he looked quite handsome himself. Even standing side by side against Michael, he would not lose out in comparison, and Michael was definitely comparable to a model.

"Wow! I never thought that I would see someone more handsome than you, boss.", Maria commented.

The grinning face of Michael immediately stopped smiling. He looked colder, as if someone killed his parents. "Get out!"

Lucas chuckled at this sudden change in Michael's expressions. "Looks like you became quite the narcissist. Okay, where the hell are my things? I put my broken phone in my pocket.", he asked Maria.
