Stupid Odin
#249 - Small snake vs big snake
To say that the Jormungandr world is like a large octopus is definitely a misconception of the Aztec gods.
It shouldn't be described as an octopus. At this moment, the bottom of the Jormungandr world is more like a cluster of dense coral polyps. Each coral polyp sticks out 'tentacles' from the cracks in the rock shell, grabbing any passing Aztec god for a severe beating.
In reality, the forest god Víðarr simply can't manage so many outer gods. His attention can only be focused on three small areas; any more and he can't handle it.
Following Thanatos's advice, Víðarr set three completely different movement patterns for the World Tree's roots. Regardless of which pattern, the ultimate goal is to strangle the opposing gods, finally adopting the python's predation mode.
Anyone who survives one round of these three attacks will find them overly simplistic.
Unfortunately, many guys really can't survive the first round!
The Aztec salt goddess Huixtocihuatl was one such unlucky soul.
The first attack of the World Tree's roots is to lure the enemy to run between two layers of rock, indirectly reducing the enemy's dodging space, and then use two roots, one above and one below, to stimulate and paralyze the opponent. Finally, a simple backhand maneuver fills all the gaps between the two layers of rock with thick roots, leaving the opponent with no escape, turning them into filling in a sandwich cookie.
This unlucky ghost really fell for it.
"Ahhh—"
This goddess is genuinely not weak, but she adopted a method of using divine power to compete with the world's strength.
Playing螳臂擋車 (táng bì dǎng chē - attempting the impossible) with such a moronic tactic, it would be a miracle if she didn't die.
She was the first idiot to be turned into mincemeat, followed by the god of fishing and birds, Opochtli, and the corn god Centeotl.
Sure enough, a powerful god is not necessarily the one with the most kills; the one who presses the button of the great weapon of destruction can sometimes pick up the most heads.
Víðarr was originally a close-combat powerhouse, but now he's doing too many things, and Thanatos has forcibly turned him into an 'octopus god'.
The World Tree's roots are ultimately too slow, and a large number of Aztec gods still managed to break into the barrier of the Jormungandr world. What they crashed into were the guardians of the lower five realms—the death army led by Hela and Ereshkigal, accompanied by the World Serpent Jörmungandr, the hellhound Garmr, and a host of Sumerian gods.
The location where the two sides broke out in battle was predetermined.
Don't think that the Aztec gods are like locusts sweeping through a wheat field, drilling out of the gaps in the World Tree's roots, seemingly able to fly to other small worlds. In reality, under the confinement of the world barrier and the cylindrical roots, the only continent they can reach is the Sumerian continent.
A deep pit entrance with a diameter of five kilometers in the mountains is their only way out.
Even if this is the predetermined route, the Aztec gods who can reach here are all outstanding.
Unlike the worlds they invaded in the past, this world has a clearer and more active malice towards these outsiders.
In the past, they could rely on their powerful divine bodies to withstand the effects of changes in the world's laws, but that doesn't work in Jormungandr.
The sky still seems to be the same sky.
Those noble sky gods (mainly elemental gods) find it difficult to mobilize elements from thousands of meters away.
This discovery shocked them, and they couldn't help but have the same question in their hearts—is the sky god here so powerful in controlling the sky?
The huge mountain actually opened a pair of gleaming, bestial golden eyes?!
The feathered serpent god took a closer look and was shocked to find that it was not a mountain peak, but a huge white tongue the size of a mountain.
The large and jagged keratin layer on the snake's head made the entire snake's head look like a mountain peak. When it habitually flicked its forked tongue, the feathered serpent god noticed that this super-huge snake was actually the mountain itself.
The serpent's body shape was too exaggerated; it itself was like a small continent.
As soon as it appeared, it swung its tail towards the feathered serpent god's head.
The serpent god was too large and slender, giving the feathered serpent god the illusion that the other party could tear apart the clouds. The shadow of the serpent's tail swept across the earth, darkening the entire sinkhole.
The feathered serpent god let out a furious roar!
As the number one thug of the Aztec gods, it will never admit defeat because its opponent is huge.
A beam of wind and rain divine power containing its violent divine power shot straight at Jörmungandr's head.
The feathered serpent god accurately calculated that this snake head should be one of the serpent's few flaws.
Unfortunately, a black curtain of death suddenly appeared beside the snake's head.
This sudden appearance of death divine power easily resolved the feathered serpent god's attack.
Hela's figure was too small compared to Jörmungandr, so the feathered serpent god didn't notice her existence at first.
Ah!
A powerful goddess?
The feathered serpent god was taken aback.
It didn't quite understand the relationship between this terrifying serpent and the goddess of death, after all, the power of these two didn't match. It also didn't think that the serpent, which was full of arrogance in its eyes, would allow an out-of-tune goddess of death to ride on its head and act wildly.
It probably wouldn't believe it even if it killed the feathered serpent god, that this serpent and Hela were actually siblings... …
Since the feathered serpent god failed to blow up Jörmungandr's head, it was its turn to take a whip-like blow from the serpent that could be described as earth-shattering.
"Boom—"
The snake's tail, which was at least a thousand meters long, mixed with absolute violence that mortals couldn't imagine, shook open the clouds, broke through the atmosphere, and crashed down with the momentum to shatter a heavenly realm.
How could the feathered serpent god's 'small body' withstand this kind of vertical attack like a fly swatter?
The only option was to dodge!
It did dodge using its speed, but it made the death god Xolotl, who rushed up behind it, suffer. This death god and god of lightning, who was responsible for escorting the Aztec sun during the night, could not be considered weak. He was, after all, the feathered serpent god's twin god.
But he was confusedly struck head-on by Jörmungandr's tail, and instantly transformed into a cannonball from a human cannon, being blasted back at twice the speed it came.
"Bang—"
He turned into a meteor and died miserably on the newly built rock barrier of the Jormungandr world.
This guy seemed to have died nonsensically, but in reality, Jörmungandr was the natural enemy of gods who didn't know how to clone themselves and only relied on their divine bodies. Don't forget, in Norse mythology, Jörmungandr killed Thor!
The brutality of the World Serpent was fully displayed at this moment.
