Lin Nan's gaze towards Norman changed, now filled with admiration: "You want to hand yourself over to S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Peter was horrified: "Uncle Norman, you can't do that! You'll lose your freedom if you do that!"

Norman shook his head: "Freedom? My freedom is freedom, but yours isn't, Parker... My Osborn family has produced fools, but never cowards!"

"I can't let you two little brats suffer for me; it's a disgrace to me!"

"Besides, I have Harry, and I must protect him. This freedom is nothing to me!"

Peter stopped talking and listened in silence.

Norman's voice echoed in the silent room: "Besides, I also need S.H.I.E.L.D.'s medical resources and technical support. Maybe they can really get rid of this monster inside me."

"And they can gain complete data on a dangerous enhanced creature, as well as an advisor in the field of superpowers. It's a win-win situation."

Lin Nan listened quietly. This behavior was undoubtedly very risky. S.H.I.E.L.D. had complex factions, and a businessman whose group had been dissolved was not safe in that environment.

However, if done properly, it can indeed bring considerable benefits. The advantages of doing so are not only that it allows S.H.I.E.L.D. to obtain a high-value sample, enabling them to do everything in their power to protect Norman.

Most importantly, if everything goes smoothly, Lin Nan will have his own people within S.H.I.E.L.D.

Chapter 34 Cooperation Achieved

Lin Nan considered for a moment and nodded: "We can give it a try, but there must be a heavyweight intermediary; you can't directly step in."

"And we need to have contingency plans. For example, we need to ensure Harry's safety, and Peter and I cannot let S.H.I.E.L.D. discover our true identities, nor can we reveal everything to S.H.I.E.L.D. We need to keep some of our cards up our sleeves."

"Furthermore, we must also maintain an independent and secure secret communication channel, just in case."

Norman gave Lin Nan a sharp look: "You seem to have hostility towards S.H.I.E.L.D."

"It's not hostility, it's self-protection."

Norman didn't ask further, and nodded: "I'll contact the lawyer about what you've said. As for the middleman..."

"Are you referring to that lawyer Matt whom we mentioned earlier?"

Lin Nan nodded: "Yes, but I don't know his attitude towards you, or whether he's willing to get involved in this mess..."

The three men sat down together and began discussing the plan. Norman, through encrypted channels, issued instructions to his team to prepare a preliminary draft of the cooperation plan.

As time passed, Lin Nan's ears caught a strange sound.

Although it's very slight, it's definitely not something an ordinary person could produce.

The movement is fast and smooth, and the jump landing is very agile, almost like a big cat, with no extra sound leakage.

Then, a familiar voice rang out.

That's the sound of a guide cane hitting the ground. Is that Daredevil?

Lin Nan placed a finger to her lips, signaling Peter and Norman to be quiet. She then pressed her ear to the doorway, maximizing her senses to listen intently.

He could hear Matt stop in front of the law firm. After a few seconds, he turned and slowly walked towards the bookstore.

Daredevil's radar senses detected an unusual sound!

Lin Nan's mind raced; before she could even decide how to approach him, he had already come over.

How should I communicate with him?

Light footsteps stopped in front of the used bookstore, and a few seconds later, there was a knock on the door.

Inside the warehouse, Peter and Norman exchanged a glance, both visibly tense. Lin Nan gestured for them to be quiet.

Then he walked to the door and asked through the door, "Who is it? The bookstore is closed today."

Attorney Matt paused for a moment, then said, "I am Matt Murdoch, a lawyer from a nearby law firm. I'm sorry to bother you."

"I've heard some strange noises over here. Do you need help?"

Lin Nan knew this was a test, and replied naturally, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Murdoch. I was just organizing some old books, and I might have made a bit of a commotion."

“Old books?” Matt’s voice was steady, without any extra emotion. “But it sounded heavy. I have some experience dealing with tricky old things, and I think I can help.”

This statement was practically an open secret; Daredevil's radar senses had probably already detected everything unusual in the warehouse.

Lin Nan quickly weighed the options in his mind and decided that rather than arousing Daredevil's suspicion and prompting him to take drastic measures, it would be better to open the door and let him in so that they could communicate.

So Lin Nan walked to the door, took out the key to the lock, and pushed the door open a crack.

Matt Murdoch squeezed in sideways, still impeccably dressed in a suit and wearing red sunglasses. His guide cane tapped lightly, making him appear completely unrecognizable as blind.

After he came in, he didn't make any extra movements; he just stood there quietly, without moving.

Suddenly, he turned his face toward the warehouse and chuckled, "Are you alone here, Mr. Lin?"

Daredevil knows his own name, which is not surprising, as his hearing has always been excellent.

Lin Nan replied calmly, "There are two friends inside helping me tidy up."

“Friends?” Matt tilted his head slightly and slowly said, “One of them sounded very weak, with a whirring sound of toxins corroding him; the other’s biofield was clearly different from that of an ordinary person, young and powerful, like a familiar acquaintance who has recently become active.”

"Mr. Lin, your two friends are quite unusual."

Matt spoke slowly, with the sharpness and penetrating power characteristic of a lawyer.

Lin Nan smiled in relief: "Sir, your hearing is really good."

Matt said with a hint of helplessness, "This is both a gift and a curse bestowed upon me by fate."

Then, he turned to Lin Nan and asked seriously, "The attack on Long Island Manor, the military and police manhunt, and the collapse of the Osborn Group—are these related to your friends?"

True to Daredevil's style, precise and deadly, without hesitation.

Hearing this, Lin Nan knew he couldn't dodge the question any longer, so he frankly admitted, "There is a connection."

His reason for choosing to admit it directly was very simple. Daredevil didn't exude malice; he only displayed the vigilance of a guardian and the desire to uncover the truth.

"One of the people in the warehouse was Norman Osborn, also known as the Green Goblin. Spider-Man and I rescued him; he was seriously injured."

“Attorney Matt, Norman Osborn’s condition is very unstable. We need to get him treatment and ensure that he is not taken away by the military or completely consumed by the Green Goblin inside him.”

Matt Murdoch's figure stiffened for a moment; even with his composure, he couldn't remain completely calm.

He clearly knew about what happened at Long Island Manor and the existence of the Green Goblin. In Lin Nan's mind, Daredevil's importance had increased to a new level.

Matt asked in a complicated tone, "You saved him? Is he still the same now?"

Lin Nan explained, "He has regained his senses now. We need a safe place, and we also need a channel to negotiate with certain forces to protect Norman and protect this city from being invaded by the Green Goblin again."

Matt remained silent for a long time, seemingly sensing Norman's condition in the warehouse, before slowly speaking: "Do you know what you're doing, Lin Nan! You're sheltering a dangerous individual who attacked a high-ranking military officer!"

"I can hear the chaotic, evil power within him. He's dangerous!"

Lin Nan said frankly, "I know, that's why we need to help him. He needs professional medical help to control the demon inside him. Moreover, he has key information about that dangerous serum, which may be crucial in preventing such things from happening again in the long run."

"Your ideals are lofty, but reality is cruel. This matter is extremely risky. You, Spider-Man, and I, once involved, will all face pursuit by the military. And that Green Goblin is really dangerous."

Matt's voice lacked any clear emotion, as if he were talking about someone else's affairs.

Lin Nan smiled bitterly, "We've been involved for a long time, and there's no way we can stay out of it. I just want to try to grasp a glimmer of hope, at least to save his son and prevent more tragedies from happening."

Matt's face showed emotional fluctuations when Lin Nan mentioned his son.

Lin Nan knew that Daredevil's growth was also inseparable from the tragedy of losing his father, and this empathy might persuade Matt to lend a helping hand.

Matt finally said, "I need to talk to him in person before I can decide."

Lin Nan breathed a sigh of relief; this was Daredevil's concession. The so-called "personal talk" was really just about hearing for himself whether Norman was now the Green Goblin or a rational individual.

He walked to the warehouse door, opened it, and gestured for Peter to come out. Attorney Matt tapped the door lightly with his cane and went inside.

Time ticked by, and Lin Nan and Peter waited anxiously outside the door.

After a long while, Matt came out. Lin Nan and Peter exchanged a glance, both feeling a little nervous.

He adjusted his red sunglasses and after a long pause, he finally spoke: "I have an acquaintance in a special department of the FBI. They sometimes handle some unconventional and sensitive cases."

"But the prerequisite is that Mr. Norman must have sufficient influence, and the entire process must be conducted under my supervision."

Norman's voice came from the warehouse door: "Thank you, Mr. Murdoch."

Daredevil shook his head: "You don't need to thank me. I did it not for you, but for this city, and to prevent another young man from repeating my mistake and losing his father."

Chapter 35 (Final Chapter)

Lin Nan breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Matt's agreement. If he and Parker had shown up, their identities would have been easily exposed, and they would have faced the wrath of General Ross and the military.

Now that we have a middleman who is well-versed in the law and skilled at dealing with organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D., things are already more than halfway done.

Lin Nan looked out the window and said, "We need to move as soon as possible; many people have already noticed this area."

“I’ll arrange the transfer route and vehicles,” Matt said in a deep voice. “You guys get ready, clean up the mess, and leave through the back door of the bookstore in half an hour.”

Daredevil then emphasized, "Mr. Lin and Peter, you two are too conspicuous. It'll be safer for us to split up. Norman, leave him to me."

Attorney Matt thought Lin Nan would hesitate, but to his surprise, the Chinese teenager nodded without even thinking.

"it is good!"

This surprised Matt, who was used to seeing evil, and his radar senses detected no hesitation from Lin Nan.

Matt felt a mix of emotions, and unusually added, "Leave Norman to me. You can rest assured, I will do my best to handle things well."

Half an hour later, an unremarkable van pulled up at the back door of the bookstore. A middle-aged man with a kind face and sharp eyes opened the door.

This should be Fudge's cousin, whom Matt mentioned. He's a retired military doctor with excellent medical skills and top-notch driving abilities.

Fudge also came, and although he had some doubts about Matt's decision, he still showed his unconditional support through his actions.

Virginia and Matt lifted Norman into the car quietly and without making a sound.

As he boarded the bus, Norman gripped Peter's hand tightly and looked gratefully at Lin Nan: "Thank you for everything you've done. Osborne will always remember your friendship and kindness."

Lin Nan smiled and gestured to the retired military doctor who was driving that they could leave.
