As Frey said before, monsters in human kingdoms are natural enemies, at least in the perception of most humans.

What reason did she give for interfering?

"Because of me."

Sophia muttered to herself, a bitter smile playing on her lips.

This is probably the only reason she can offer.

Sophia sat back down at her desk and took out a palm-sized round crystal plate from the drawer.

This is a communication magic item that Frey left her, specifically for remote communication.

The surface of the crystal plate is engraved with dense magical patterns, and a pale blue magic crystal is embedded in the center.

She took a deep breath, placed her palm on the crystal plate, and magic slowly flowed into her palm.

The patterns on the surface of the crystal plate began to glow with a pale blue light, spreading outwards in concentric circles, rippling through the air like water.

A few seconds later, Frey's phantom appeared in the center of the crystal plate.

"what happened?"

Frey's voice came from the crystal plate, tinged with languor, as if she had just been woken up in bed.

"Teacher, there's something I'd like to tell you."

Sophia said with a grin.

"Go ahead."

"It's like this..."

Sophia organized her thoughts and recounted the events of the day in detail.

From Solot's disappearance, to her entering the mine and finding the Spider Queen, to Amelia's willingness to release her on the condition that Count Vlad would most likely not accept the condition and would definitely ask the Empire for help.

After she finished speaking, there was a few seconds of silence on the crystal plate.

Then Frey's voice rang out again, her tone much more sober than before.

"So you came to me wanting me to stop the Empire from sending troops to support your Kyle City?"

"Oh, that's how it is."

Sophia nodded.

"I promised the Spider Queen that I would do my best to stop humans from invading again."

There was silence for a few more seconds on the crystal plate.

Sofia could hear Frey's soft breathing, as if she was thinking about something.

"Sofia."

Frey finally spoke, her voice tinged with helplessness.

"You know it's difficult for me to get involved in this matter."

"I know."

Sophia bit her lip.

"But I can't find anyone else."

"It's not a question of whether we can find the person or not."

Frey's tone became serious.

"Think about it, the relationship between humans and monsters has never been one of peaceful coexistence. Humans hunt monsters, and monsters attack humans. This has been the rule for thousands of years. You suddenly say you want to change this rule? On what basis? Just because of what a twelve-year-old girl like you says?"

Sofia remained silent.

She knew Frey was telling the truth.

In most people's minds, monsters are creatures that deserve to be killed.

You can reason with monsters, that's your business, but you can't expect others to do the same.

"But?"

Sophia opened her mouth, as if to say something, but swallowed the words back.

"But what?"

Frey asked another question.

"But the Spider Queen did nothing wrong."

Sofia's voice was soft, but every word was clear.

"Humans were the first to trespass into her territory, and she was the first to choose to retreat. She didn't kill anyone; it was her survival instinct, just like a tiger eating a rabbit. You can't say that a tiger is evil."

"I understand everything you're saying."

Frey's voice softened somewhat.

"But do you think the nobles of the empire will listen?"

Sofia fell silent again.

"Sofia."

Frey called her name, her tone tinged with complexity.

"Do you know where your problem lies? You always distinguish right from wrong too clearly, thinking that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong, but the world is not black and white."

"I know."

Sophia said in a low voice.

“But I can’t stand by and watch the Empire send troops to slaughter those spiders.”

"in particular."

She paused, then lowered her voice.

"Amelia released my father."

There was a long silence on the side of the crystal plate.

So long that Sofia thought Frey had cut off all contact.

"Sofia."

Frey's voice finally rang out again.

"Are you really going to get involved in this?"

"Yes."

Sofia answered without hesitation.

“Even if you don’t help, I still have to help her. She spared my father’s life; that’s a debt of gratitude I have to repay.”

A sigh came from the crystal dish.

"Alright! Wait for my message."

"Teacher, you..."

Sophia was stunned for a moment, then her eyes lit up. She hadn't expected Frey to agree so readily.

Don't be too happy yet.

Frey interrupted her.

"I only said I'd think of a way, not that I could definitely help. This matter involves too many interests; it's not something I can resolve with just a few words."

"I know."

Sophia nodded quickly.

"Whether it works out or not, I thank you, teacher."

"Alright, stop flattering me."

Frey's tone carried a hint of disdain, but Sophia could tell it wasn't genuine disdain.

"Get some rest and don't think too much. I'll let you know if there's any news."

"it is good."

Sophia responded.

The light on the crystal plate slowly faded, and Frey's phantom disappeared into the air.

Sofia put the crystal plate back in the drawer, leaned back in her chair, and let out a long sigh.

She has done all she could.

The rest is up to Frey.

Chapter 39 Moving Advice

Noon the next day.

Sophia was practicing her sword in the courtyard. The sword was covered with a layer of golden magic, drawing streaks of sword shadows in the air.

Her movements were incredibly fast; an ordinary person would probably only see a blur.

Mother Bessie was cooking inside the house, and the kitchen was filled with the clanging of pots and pans, along with the aroma of cooking oil.

All of this seems quite ordinary.

But at that moment, the air in front of Sophia suddenly trembled.

Immediately afterwards, a dark blue spatial rift was torn open out of thin air.

Frey emerged from the crack.

Upon seeing this, Sophia immediately sheathed her sword and went to meet them.

"Teacher, you're here! How is the situation?"

She asked quickly, a little bit of anticipation in her heart.
