"Okay, I got it, I'll be careful."

His voice carried both helplessness and warmth.

"You're just a little girl, worrying about so much. Aren't you afraid you won't grow tall?"

Sophia immediately rolled her eyes.

Leila smiled, stood up, and gave her one last look.

"Alright, let's go."

So the two went to the living room, where Frey was already waiting.

"Let's go, I'll take you home."

After speaking, Frey raised her hand and tore open a spatial rift, and a dark blue light spread out.

The two walked in one after the other, and after the spatial fluctuations dissipated, they were already standing at the door of Sofia's house in Kyle City.

The courtyard was dark, except for the light on in her room window; Bethys must still be waiting for her.

Sophia turned around to thank her, but Frey spoke first.

"I'm not going in, I'm tired."

She raised her hand, ready to tear open the crack.

"Teacher, wait a minute."

Sophia quickly called out to her, glancing at her own attire and realizing she had almost forgotten.

"Where are my clothes?"

"We'll talk about it tomorrow."

Frey flicked her finger, and the crack reappeared.

Before the words were even finished, the person had already stepped inside, a flash of eerie blue light disappearing in an instant, leaving only faint magical fluctuations in the night sky.

Sofia stood there, stunned.

"Let's talk about it tomorrow? What do you mean, let's talk about it tomorrow?" She looked down at her white dress, then at the tightly closed door of her house.

Never mind, let's go home first.

She pushed open the door and tiptoed inside.

As soon as I reached the door, it opened from the inside.

Bethys stood inside the door, holding an oil lamp, her eyes filled with worry.

“Baby, you’re finally back.”

He stopped abruptly halfway through his sentence.

The lights shone on Sofia, revealing her white evening gown, long silver hair, and a pale blue gemstone at her waist that shimmered slightly.

Bisis's eyes widened, and her mouth opened and closed as if someone was choking her.

"Mom, it's me."

"what!"

Bisis screamed, put down the oil lamp, and pulled Sophia into his arms, holding her tightly as if he wanted to meld her into his body.

"My darling daughter, you're finally wearing a dress."

Sofia was being strangled and couldn't breathe.

"Mom, be gentle, you're going to suffocate me!"

Bisis ignored her completely and kissed her forehead, cheeks, and nose, leaving several lipstick marks.

"She's so beautiful, my daughter is so beautiful."

Her face was full of excitement.

"Do you know how long your mother has been waiting for this day? She has never worn a dress since she was a child, and your mother thought she would never see one in her life."

Sophia froze in her arms, her expression even more unpleasant than if she had swallowed a fly.

But she didn't struggle or push him away.

"Mom, do you have to be so dramatic?"

Bixis chuckled, took a step back, and looked him up and down, becoming more and more satisfied with what he saw.

"Who bought you this dress? It must be very expensive. Was it Lady Frey or Miss Lyra?"

"Sister Leila."

"Miss Leila has excellent taste."

Bisis clicked her tongue in admiration and circled around her.

"That hair looks so good!"

"The teacher used magic to promote the birth."

Bisis nodded.

After being pampered by her mother, Sophia returned to her room.

As soon as she got back, she closed the door, took off her high heels, lay down on the bed, and let out a long sigh.

She looked down at her white dress, then reached out to touch the silver hair hanging down her chest.

"Forget it, let's leave it at that. Trying out a different gender might be helpful for my cultivation."

But my mind is a mess.

Chapter 32 The Disappearance of Surott

A few days later, in Kyle City.

The sun had just risen, but the atmosphere in Sofia's house was as heavy as the eve of a storm.

Sophia had just woken up and came downstairs when she saw Bisis covering her face and crying softly in the living room, which startled her.

"Mom, what's wrong?"

Bixis raised her head, her eyes red-rimmed, her lips trembling as she managed to squeeze out a sentence.

"Your father, your father he..."

Sophia's sleepiness vanished instantly.

She walked quickly to Bisis, placed her hands on her mother's trembling shoulders, and asked in as calm a voice as possible, "What happened to my father?"

Bisis took a deep breath and began to speak.

“Yesterday, people from the town of Slott came to the city asking for help, saying that monsters had appeared in the mines and asking your father and his militia to help clear them out.”

Her voice was trembling.

"Your dad and the others went there, but they haven't come back yet."

Upon hearing this, Sophia roughly guessed what was going on.

"and then?"

Bethys shook his head.

"The Earl has sent people to investigate."

"We only found traces of a battle and some bloodstains at the entrance to the mine. None of the militia members were found; they had all disappeared."

Her tears finally fell.

"You mean... your dad... he's not in any trouble, is he?"

Sofia reached out and wiped away her mother's tears.

"Mom, don't worry, Dad will be fine."

"how do you know?"

Bisis grabbed her hand as if it were her last straw.

"I just know."

Sofia let go of her hand and turned to walk upstairs.

"I'll go to Slote Town right away."

Bisis paused for a moment, then quickly followed.

"You're going alone? No, it's too dangerous."

"mom."

Sophia stopped and turned to look into Bisis's eyes.

“My father is definitely still alive, but if we wait for the lord to look for him, it might be too late.”

Bisis opened her mouth, but ultimately did not refute.

She knew in her heart that her daughter was no ordinary child.

"Then, be careful."

Bisis finally nodded.

Ten minutes later, Sofia had changed her clothes.

He wore a dark blue belted coat, black trousers, and ankle boots, just like any other day.

The only difference was that she now had a slender longsword at her waist, a gift from Frey, a magic sword.

When she came downstairs, Bessis was already standing at the door waiting for her.

"Mom, wait for my news at home."

"it is good."

Bisis watched her walk out of the courtyard.
