The silver crossbow bolt pierced Wade's chest instantly, striking him squarely in the heart.

Wade calmly pulled open his shirt, exposing his chest, and stood at the bottom of the steps outside the church. In front of everyone, he pulled out the silver crossbow bolt, letting the locals watch as the wound on his chest healed.

"This is impossible." The priest was stunned.

"How could you only arrive now?" someone shouted from the crowd.

“What do you mean by ‘only now’?” Wade asked.

"Van Helsing!!" someone shouted a name.

"Von Helsing?" Wade looked at the bearded Valerius men with a puzzled expression.

"We're not calling you, we're calling Gabriel's name in the real world, Van Helsing!!"

One of the wolves in the pack started to move, and the alpha wolf moved from the back of the pack to the front.

The alpha wolf trembled, and a hand emerged from its gaping maw. A "person" covered in slime crawled out of the alpha wolf's body.

"devil!!"

The priest fired a silver crossbow bolt at the "man" who had transformed into a wolf, but a wolf jumped out and blocked the bolt for the "man".

"I?"

"Am I Van Helsing?" Leopold was utterly confused.

Leopold's long list of names does not include this middle name, but the name "von" which symbolizes noble status does.

Leopold pondered that the pronunciation of "Helsing" might have changed over time.

“Dracula is my master, Van Helsing. I have been waiting for you here at my master’s command. You have finally come.”

"Is it over once I take care of you tonight?" Leopold asked the vampire.

No, that's not true.

Leopold rushed to the vampire and, without hesitation, plunged the holy silver crossbow bolt into the vampire's heart.

"Couldn't you have waited for him to say a few more words? Leo, I didn't realize you had such a bad temper," Wade said from the side.

“He wants to hypnotize me, like Dracula did,” Leopold said, turning back.

“You’re having PTSD.” Wade looked at Leopold’s serious and angry expression and gave him a thumbs up.

"Could you move aside?" Li Qun's voice came from outside.

The wolves stepped aside, and Li Qun, carrying "Light," walked into the small square in front of the church with Bruce Banner.

"Dr. Banner, your magic to disperse the wolves has failed," Wade shouted.

"I can do it again."

Dr. Banner raised his hand, and a green light resembling the aurora borealis reappeared in the night sky, spreading in all directions. The wolves, no longer under the control of the vampire alpha wolf, howled and scattered in all directions.

Chapter 414 Obtaining Eternal Life

"And who are you two?"

The priest aimed the crossbow at Bruce Banner and Li Qun, moving the crosshair back and forth across the two men.

“I am a mage,” Dr. Banner said calmly.

"It's a wizard!"

"Burn them to death!!"

"Don't be so stressed, okay?" Wade said to the priest.

"What are you trying to say, angel?" the priest asked, looking at Wade.

"God is with me."

"Believe in God and you will have eternal life."

“Van Helsing and I trust them, and you must trust them as much as you trust us,” Wade said.

“I still prefer you to call me Leo,” Leopold said to Wade.

"name……"

“I just remembered, ‘The Monster Without a Name,’ and you have many names now.” Wade looked at Leopold.

“Perhaps we should sew your mouth shut. Is this the time to study fairy tales?” Leopold asked.

“It’s strange, I have this weird feeling of familiarity with these stories,” Wade said.

“Wade, those picture book stories are full of spiritual guidance and suggestion, which will gradually erode people’s ability to empathize and mold them into emotionless, purely empty monsters,” Dr. Banner said to Wade.

"Dr. Banner, have you figured out those stories?"

"What story?!" the priest asked loudly.

“It’s a fairy tale picture book in the children’s section of the town library that doesn’t have the author’s name on it,” Wade explained to the priest.

“There shouldn’t be any danger now, right? Everyone can put down their weapons,” Li Qun said, looking at the local people of Valerius town on one side of the church.

"You are our greatest danger!"

“So what if you’re angels? How can we be sure you weren’t sent by God to cleanse us?” the priest shouted.

“But weren’t you just using God’s power to fight against evil?” Li Qun asked.

“Your faith is not devout!!” Wade shouted.

“We fight against evil, and we find that God proves his existence by letting evil walk among us. Why?!” the priest shouted.

"Is the debate about to begin? Can we find a place to sit down before we start?" Li Qun asked.

“Shut your mouth, child!” The priest pointed at Li Qun.

"Do you call the shots in this town? Don't you have a town mayor?" Li Qun asked.

"The mayor is dead. He died last week. He was bitten to death by wolves," someone shouted.

“The people in town really do listen to me now,” the priest said.

“Hey, Dr. Banner, I just remembered the story of the picture book ‘The God of Peace.’ The God of Peace is busy every day, trying to make everyone happy. However, when the god looked in the mirror, he found that he saw a demon in the mirror. The god realized that as long as this demon exists, people can never be happy.” Wade said to Dr. Banner with a serious expression.

"Are you trying to tell me, by summarizing this story, that the people in the town's faith in God has been distorted by it?" Bruce Banner asked.

“That’s what I mean, but it’s better not to say it out loud,” Wade said.

"The story's ending suggests that the god of peace chose to commit suicide in order to destroy the demon," Wade added.

“If we leave now, we can still have dinner,” Dr. Banner said to Wade and Leopold.

"Should we leave?" Wade turned to Leopold and asked.

“You want to leave? We haven’t agreed to let you go yet,” the priest said.

“What are you going to do with us?” Wade asked.

“Fulfill the duty of our Holy Order Order to fight against all that threatens humanity and kill you, two wizards and two angels,” the priest said.

"How do you view your work, Father?" Wade asked, puzzled.

“God will forgive me,” the priest said.

“Have you ever considered that, at this very moment, God is truly watching over this place?” Li Qun said.

“It’s even better that God is watching over us,” the priest said.

"Anyway, we won't die. What's that saying again? Believe in God, and you'll have eternal life," Wade laughed.

“Perhaps we should let you fight the wolves first, and then we can talk after you survive,” Dr. Banner said.

“I feel like I can communicate with those wolves better. Just now, when Liqun asked them to move aside, they really understood and did so,” Wade said.

“Wade, I’m sure the wolves won’t listen to you no matter what you say to them,” Dr. Banner said.

"why?"

"You have no place that can frighten the wolves."

“Okay.” Wade shrugged.

"Are you done talking?" the priest asked.

"Let's go, let's get out of here."

Bruce Banner raised his hand and used four portals to take the four of them away, while the priest and the townspeople stared wide-eyed as the four disappeared.

……

"Dinner's ready!" Stephanie called out from the dining table, and Gwen and Peter put down what they were doing and came to the table.

"That's great, there's not a single leftover, it's all fresh," Peter remarked.

“If you’re craving a turkey sandwich, I can go to the convenience store and buy you one now,” Gwen said.

"no thank you."

Li Qun, Wade, Leopold, and Bruce Banner "refreshed" the apartment living room, where Peter and the other two had just started eating dinner.

“We’ve made it.” Bruce Banner threw all the old books he’d brought from the library in Valerius town onto the table in front of the television.

“Liqun, you didn’t tell us anyone would be coming for dinner.” Gwen looked over.

"I only found out at the last minute."

“Don’t worry, I’ll make some more to eat,” Li Qun said.

"Are you in trouble? Do you need my help?" Peter looked at Wade and Leopold, who were disheveled, and asked kindly.

“That’s not a problem you can solve, Peter.”

“We went to Leo’s hometown, which has been around for hundreds of years, but the people there don’t welcome us and want to kill us.” Wade casually opened the refrigerator, took out a drink, and started drinking.

“It’s just a temporary retreat; we’ll be going back,” Leopold said.

“Van Helsing, do you think they’ll change their personalities drastically after dawn? Turn into a bunch of good people?” Wade asked.

“Leo, is Van Helsing your new name? It sounds pretty cool,” Gwen said.

“I feel like this is a surname, not a first name,” Leopold said.
