"Are you manipulating time?" Wade asked.

Bruce Banner paused, adjusted his time flow to match Wade's, and nodded to Wade.

"Won't you age if you speed up your own time?" Wade asked curiously.

“Hulk and I have a long lifespan, longer than you can imagine. I don’t know how much longer Hulk and I will live,” Banner said to Wade.

“OK, I’ll try to keep you company, and we can live together until the end of the world,” Wade said.

"I'm going to continue reading."

Bruce Banner started speeding up his time again, while Wade continued to stand boredly to the side, acting as Banner's light bearer.

Wade heard the church bells ringing in the middle of the night, waking up the entire town. Hundreds of people came out of their homes carrying torches and weapons.

“I’m back. Old Wang said he’ll try to find the author of the picture book.” Li Qun stepped out of the portal and noticed the unusual situation outside the library.

"I have to go out."

“In this situation, Leo will definitely be dragged to the church by the hotel owner. If I’m not there, the people in town will become suspicious.”

"You'd better hurry, Wade! If a conflict breaks out, don't kill everyone in town," Li Qun said worriedly.

"I'm not crazy."

Wade sneaked away from the town library, while Bruce Banner continued his book review work.

Wade climbed back into his hotel room through the window and quickly changed back into his normal clothes. The hotel owner was banging on the door, urging Leopold to open it. Leopold repeatedly emphasized to the owner outside that he was getting dressed.

"Thank God, you're back..."

"What have you done? The whole town is awake!" Leopold asked Wade anxiously.

“We didn’t do anything, we just looked through books in the town library,” Wade explained.

"Ok."

Leopold and Wade arrived at the door, and Leopold opened it. The two looked nervously at the hotel owner.

“Stay close to me, we have to get to the church,” the hotel owner told the two.

"What happened?" Wade asked the hotel owner.

"The wolf pack has decided to attack!"

“If you don’t want to die, come with us to the church,” the hotel owner replied.

How did you know?

"That's hard to explain."

The hotel owner had no intention of satisfying the curiosity of outsiders.

Wade and Leopold arrived at the town church.

The town church is the most magnificent and sturdy building in the entire town, and its doors are all metal.

The town's hundreds of people were all in the church. Wade secretly looked around and saw that most of the townspeople were elderly. Wade and Leopold were the two youngest people among them.

“Excuse me, my friends, you’ve come at an inopportune time.” The priest, carrying a hunting rifle, walked up to Wade and Leopold.

"Are the wolves here really that dangerous?" Wade asked the priest.

"They are the embodiment of the devil; do not underestimate them."

"If everyone hides in the church, doesn't that mean the area outside the church is being given to the wolves?" Wade asked.

“Only by bringing everyone together and fighting as one can we defeat those beasts,” the priest said.

"How many guns and weapons do you have? How long can you hold out? How many wolves are outside?"

"Why are you asking about this?" the priest asked Wade warily.

"How about we make a deal?" Wade asked the priest, tilting his head.

"Shall we make a deal?" the priest asked Wade.

“Let’s make a deal…” someone repeated the priest’s words.

"Let's make a deal," more people whispered in unison.

“This is not good…” Wade whispered to Leopold.

"What's wrong?" Leopold asked, completely bewildered.

“In the story ‘The Man with the Big Eyes and the Man with the Big Mouth,’ the devil wanted to make a deal with two people. One refused, and the other agreed, but both of them regretted it in the end,” Wade explained nervously to Leopold.

"I feel like I've become that demon..."

Chapter 413 Van Helsing

"demon!!"

"Catch them!!"

As if triggering some kind of underlying code in the locals, Wade and Leopold were immediately pinned to the church floor by the townspeople.

Why didn't you resist?

Wade's head was pressed against the floor as he looked at Leopold, who was also being held down.

“Do you want me to kill them? I can’t control my strength very well,” Leopold said to Wade.

“That’s strange. Banner said he used magic to drive the wolves away. Why did this happen?” Wade asked.

“Perhaps those weren’t ordinary wolves, but wolves with magical properties. Dr. Banner’s magic didn’t work; instead, it angered the pack,” Leopold analyzed.

“Could you do me a favor? Could you go and tell Banner that we’re in trouble?” Wade said.

“I have a shotgun pointed at my head,” Leopold said.

"Then I'll get up."

Wade was pinned down by several people, but he withstood the pressure and stood up. He then punched one of the men on top of him, knocking him unconscious.

"Bang!!"

The shotgun fired, and Wade was shot; blood instantly soaked through his clothes.

“It hurts,” Wade said, turning around.

"It's a demon!!"

"Prepare the stake, holy water, cross, garlic, and silver sword!!"

“I’m not a vampire,” Wade said, looking at the rioting locals.

He said he was a vampire!

"It's Dracula's henchman!! He's back!"

"Holy Order, prepare for battle!"

Leopold stood up too. If he didn't, he would be torn to pieces.

“What are they shouting?” Wade asked Leopold. The local accent of the Valerius people was too distinctive, and he hadn’t heard the words they were shouting before.

Leopold frowned, his expression serious.

“The Holy Order, I don’t know what kind of organization that is, but I heard them shout Dracula’s name, so they think we were sent by Dracula,” Leopold said.

"Stop!"

"Stop it!!"

Wade shouted, but none of the locals listened to him. Wade saw these people pull out gleaming silver two-handed swords from under the church pews.

"We have to run."

“The locals really want to kill us,” Wade said, turning to Leopold.

"Door."

Wade shielded Leopold, who then removed the bolt and pushed the heavy iron door open with both hands.

Pushing open the church doors, one finds pairs of eyes glowing green.

The pack of wolves had arrived outside the church; they were a dark mass, and it was impossible to tell how many wolves had come.

The firelight inside the church shone outside the church doors, allowing Leopold to clearly see the enormous black wolf outside the church.

“A pincer movement from both sides,” Leopold calmly turned to Wade and said.

“I feel no pressure about killing wolves.” Wade calmly snatched the silver two-handed sword from the mustachioed man’s hand.

At first glance, the men of Valerius all have beards of various shapes: mustaches, goatees, sideburns, anchor beards, braided beards, and so on.

The church priest, holding a strangely shaped, fully automatic crossbow, fired it at Leopold as he walked out of the church.

The silver crossbow bolt pierced Leopold's shoulder, causing him to groan.

Leopold reached down and pulled the silver crossbow bolt from his shoulder. Blood flowed out, but the wound healed quickly.

"They are vampires!!" the priest shouted.

“Enough! Have you ever seen a vampire?” Wade shouted at the priest.

“Humans don’t heal wounds that quickly; only vampires can,” the priest shouted at Wade.

“Have you ever thought that angels also have the ability to heal themselves quickly? This guy next to me is Gabriel!” Wade shouted.

“Gabriel?” The priest scrutinized Leopold.

"You shot a silver crossbow bolt, didn't you? If it were a vampire, the damage from silver would be fatal; the vampire would turn to ashes in the blink of an eye," Wade continued.

“Is he Dracula? Dracula can’t be killed with silver,” the priest said.

“The reason we’re here is because we killed Dracula and want to investigate his past,” Wade said.

“A cunning vampire, a cunning Dracula,” the priest said solemnly.

"Try shooting me an arrow, make sure it's silver," Wade said nonchalantly, raising his arms.

"I will shoot through your heart."

"Come, I am Jesus, I will not die."
