At Black Lake, Kane's shadows were truly a chaotic mess, but for some reason, after taking a nap, his shadows became somewhat more subdued.
If Kane could hear his question, he would probably be happy to answer it.
Comfortable and soft, and most importantly, a covered bedroom, which can restore a little wizard's pitiful sanity, though not much, but it's useful.
At worst, I can just go to Hogwarts after I wake up, pick some flowers, make a wreath, and wear it on my head...
As for whether the petals will turn into demonic petals under the influence of shadows, just like ghosts, it shouldn't be the case. Shadows are shadows, and ghosts are ghosts; the two cannot be confused.
Soon, after some time, Kane woke up slowly, breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the campfire that was still burning brightly beside him, and had slept quite comfortably that night.
"It's time for dinner, Kane. Wash up and come out." Dumbledore's voice came from outside.
"coming."
The people having breakfast at Hogwarts this morning were more orderly, a total of six humans.
Kane ate while listening to Hagrid's Diagon Alley trailer, talking about magical ice cream, a bank run by fairies, magical stone walls, and Knockdown Alley, which is only a wall away from Diagon Alley, and so on.
However, in Kane's eyes, none of these were as appealing as the slices of toast spread with honey in front of him.
On the other side, Professor McGonagall quietly ate her porridge. Thinking of Harry, who had vowed to knock Kane's teeth out, Professor McGonagall wondered whether Kane's teeth would still be in his mouth when Kane and Hagrid returned in the afternoon.
Should we give him a heads-up?
of course not.
Breakfast was over quickly, and Kane sat by the tree stump in Hagrid's hut waiting for Hagrid to finish getting ready inside. Hagrid came out soon after.
"Professor McGonagall told me that the Weasleys will be going to Diagon Alley today. You'll like them; they're all wonderful people. Plus, there's a young wizard your age who will be enrolling at Hogwarts this year. You two should get along well."
“I hope so.” Kane nodded, and together with Hagrid, they left Hogwarts using a Portkey.
Chapter Eleven: Harry roared and lunged at Kane.
"This is Charing Cross Road in London. For the first time, we're not using fireplaces or apparitions, but instead taking you from the Muggle world to find your way to Diagon Alley."
Hagrid led Kane out of a small alley and pointed to a very dilapidated and out-of-place bar not far away.
"That's the Leaky Cauldron, the gateway to the entire magical world of London. It's the entrance to Diagon Alley." Hagrid led Kane into the Leaky Cauldron.
He had arranged to meet the Weasleys here beforehand, but perhaps Hagrid had taken a while to tidy up, anyway, it seemed the Weasleys had been waiting here for a while.
"I love their family's red hair; seeing it at Hogwarts is like seeing the sun."
Hagrid greeted the family who were sitting neatly at the bar.
Kane also looked at the red-haired family, a large and prosperous family, if it weren't for the one with black hair due to a genetic mutation...
Hmm? Black hair?
Kane sensed something was wrong and glanced over again: "Harry? What are you doing here?"
Unlike Kane, who was slow to realize what was happening, Harry noticed Kane the moment he entered the Leaky Cauldron. The reason he didn't pounce on him immediately was that he was waiting for his prey to come within his attack range, just like a good hunter.
And now is the time.
Harry roared and lunged at Kane.
"I'm here to buy Hogwarts new student supplies, what do you want!" Kane shouted, using his shadow to block Harry in shock.
"Let me go, or I'll knock your teeth out!" Harry said, baring his teeth and brandishing his claws.
"Come on, you know perfectly well you can't beat me." Kane said, looking at Harry, who was struggling more and more fiercely. After a moment of silence, he used more shadow tentacles to bind Harry tightly.
Fortunately, the Leaky Cauldron wasn't crowded in the morning. Most of the people there were hungovers from the night before, along with the Weasleys and the bartender, Mr. Tom.
Otherwise, with Kane's Shadow skill, he'd be easily defeated by the Aurors.
Of course, the fact that the Weasleys didn't report Aurors doesn't mean they weren't surprised.
"Mom, is this black magic? It's so cool! I want to learn!" Ron, the youngest boy in the group of redheads, was quite shocked as he watched Kane tie up the savior of the magical world so easily.
Fortunately, Ron's three older brothers and his mother were very strict about this kind of education, and in an instant, four fists slammed into Ron's head at the same time.
"What's there to learn!"
Hagrid overheard the Weasleys' whisper and, to prevent Kane's reputation from being damaged, quickly whispered an explanation: "This is innate dark magic, not something learned. Kane didn't want it to be like this either. Dumbledore certified it."
A series of four explanations successfully salvaged Kane's reputation, which had almost been ruined.
And then there's Harry. Kane's shadow slowly transformed into a long, slender, and powerful claw. He had already untied Harry, but still used his shadow to lift Harry high up by the back of his neck.
"Put me down," Harry said through gritted teeth.
"You swear you won't go crazy after I put you down."
Harry took a deep breath: "Okay, I promise you."
Kane gently had Shadow put Harry down, but Harry, showing no mercy, immediately lunged at Kane upon regaining his freedom.
Fortunately, Kane had also trained in the Eternal Realm, and with two punches, he knocked Harry to the ground, leaving him to wail on the ground.
“I want...lemonade,” Kane said to the bartender Tom, sitting down in the seat Harry had just been in.
“Oh, okay, Harry…you’re friends?” Tom asked hesitantly after pouring Kane a glass of lemonade.
"Is it hard to tell, or is it that we don't get along well?" Kane said, taking a sip of lemonade.
"Hmm...not enough." Ron said, but still went to help Harry up, noticing the dark circles under his eyes...
“You two really do look like brothers now, you both have dark circles under your eyes,” Ron said, unable to stop laughing.
"Oh, thank you for the compliment." Kane asked Tom for two more glasses of lemonade: "Put it on Hogwarts' tab."
Upon hearing this, Hagrid quickly took out several Galleons and Silver Sickles from his bag and handed them to Kane.
"Hmm, thanks Hagrid." Kane unceremoniously put the money into his pocket, while Hagrid, having finished talking with the Weasleys, came over and patted Harry and Ron on the head.
"Now all three of you freshmen belong to me."
Ron was excited about this. Shopping for school supplies with the savior Harry and a super cool new student would definitely be more interesting than being controlled by his parents.
Harry hesitated. He desired the Weasley family ties, and he also desired Kane's friendship. He could not have both, so he chose friendship over family.
After all, he had actually spent a month with Kane, while Weasley... should have been there forty-five minutes since they met.
He also really wanted to ask Kane how he had been doing during his time away from home, how he usually scavenged for food in that garbage can, and how Hogwarts had found him and taken him out of his misery.
Wow, this kind of question is too cruel for Kane. Maybe I shouldn't ask it at all. It's like reopening old wounds, and it definitely won't be comfortable for him.
Kane watched Harry's expression change repeatedly, wondering what he was thinking about. Should he tell him that he was enjoying himself at Hogwarts while Harry was living the Dursleys' lives?
But before he could finish thinking, he heard about a pair of red-haired twins, whose mother said they were named George and Fred.
The two of them started to whine in unison, "Why are we going to send Ronnie and Harry away?"
“We can definitely bring this young gentleman into our family as well.”
"I think the one who should really be kicked out is Hagrid."
Hagrid, somewhat annoyed, flicked George and Fred on the forehead each.
Mrs. Weasley tapped their foreheads with her finger, somewhat annoyed: "If it weren't for the two of you, I would have been more than happy to bring Harry and Kane along."
"I understand."
"Other people's children are always better in every way."
Mrs. Weasley, listening to the twins constantly nagging at her, subconsciously felt a little itchy to intervene. However, Hagrid was still opposite her, so she awkwardly pulled Mr. Weasley and the three children together: "We'll be going now. We'll leave Harry and Ron in your care, Hagrid."
"It's my pleasure. Alright, let's go too, shall we follow the Weasleys?" Hagrid said, looking at Kane and the other two.
“Well, to be honest, I don’t recommend doing that,” Ron suddenly said, raising his hand.
"why?"
"The reason they left in such a hurry is probably to find a secluded place to beat the child. We'll be disturbing my two brothers' enjoyment if we go over there now." Ron said this with a mischievous grin, as if afraid others wouldn't know he was up to no good.
"Okay, then we'll wait a little longer."
During this precious free time, Harry finally asked Kane the question he had wanted to ask for a long time.
Why did you run away from home?
Chapter Twelve: I'm a person of principle; I would never do something like personalized customization.
Kane raised an eyebrow: "Didn't I tell you? It's because I can't stand the Dursleys' emotional abuse."
There was another half-sentence he didn't say: he was lucky he left the Dursleys' house beforehand, otherwise, less than a day after Maxwell removed the lock from him, his sanity would have been completely tormented by the Dursleys, and then the Shadows would have attacked him one after another like dumplings being dropped into a pot.
“That’s it?” Harry looked at Kane suspiciously, while Kane nodded. “Mr. Dursley, didn’t you eavesdrop on Animal World? Even antelopes know to migrate. If I continue to live in the Dursleys’ house, I might really die.”
Ron, who was listening to Kane and Harry's encrypted conversation, was completely confused. However, he soon didn't have to listen anymore. Hagrid calculated the time and figured that the Weasleys had probably finished fighting the twins, one by one, and it was time to take them to Diagon Alley.
Kane casually put down his lemonade and Hagrid's, while Harry and Ron quickly gulped down their own lemonades and then simultaneously looked at the half-full glass that Kane had left.
Oh dear, we've been found out. Well, let's try to be more dignified this time.
The four went to the courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron, but when they went outside, Hagrid realized he had miscalculated; the Weasleys' grand plan to beat their child was far from over.
The Weasleys awkwardly put their shoes back on, chuckled, and pulled Kane and Harry, the two young wizards who were visiting for the first time, to the front so they could see the peculiar brick. Then they gently tapped it with their wands.
The bricks seemed to come alive, receding to both sides like the tide.
The Weasleys took Percy and the twins to buy things for their new school term, while Hagrid took Kane and the other two to Gringotts first.
Before entering Gringotts, Hagrid took a key out of his pocket and handed it to Harry: "This was left to you by your parents. Opening a vault is a unique ritual, and it should be passed on to you."
"My parents left it to me?" Harry said, holding the key, somewhat bewildered.
"Yes, they are all very good people, and most importantly, they all love you very much."
After Hagrid finished speaking, he led the three of them into Gringotts. The goblins didn't recognize Kane and Harry. Ron's red hair was distinctive, but because he was a Weasley, they didn't ask him to stand up.
In the end, it was Hagrid who caught his eye, and he obsequiously trotted over to him.
After all, who in all of England doesn't know that Hagrid is Dumbledore's henchman?
Hagrid looked at Harry apologetically: "Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, gave me some instructions..."
"Should we take care of business first?" Harry said considerately.
“That’s great, I mean, thank you.”
