After Draco Malfoy left, he recalled the strange wilderness where toads rained down. It was a clue; it might be the territory of some strange magical family. He had to tell his father.
"Willy Wonka? What a strange name!" Hermione frowned and asked, but her eyes and hands remained firmly glued to the book. This chocolate had nothing to do with her, so it was better not to look at it.
"Willy Wonka, the most powerful candy merchant in the wizarding world in the last century, invented almost all the mainstream candies now, such as Chocolate Frog, Cockroach Pile, and Lemon Olaf.
"However, it seems that later, because his candy factory was betrayed, he sold all his patents in despair and ended up running a small chocolate workshop, making only one hundred pieces a year."
"Considering how sincere Malfoy's apology was, I'll forgive him!"
After saying that, Ron quickly picked up his own piece of chocolate, tore open the wrapper, and started eating it right away.
Harry was the same; you can't expect an eleven-year-old to share something so precious with a friend they'd only just met. If it were just ordinary chocolate, that would be one thing, but this was Willy Wonka's chocolate...
I don't know how amazing this chocolate is, but it certainly sounds amazing.
As for Kane... normally he would eat the chocolate openly and generously. The kind of thing where he gives the whole chocolate to Hermione or shares half with her, and Hermione suddenly blushes for no apparent reason, and the two of them develop a sweet romance, is abnormal.
And so, in the small private room, the three of them were simultaneously stuffing chocolates into their mouths, while one of them was engrossed in studying, but after a while he remembered that he still had to help Neville find the toad.
She looked up and said, "The people more talented than you are eating chocolate. Now is the perfect opportunity to catch up."
Kane quickly finished the chocolate, leaving not a single piece. This chocolate was worthy of Ron's praise. At this moment, he felt better than ever. His previously withered soul was now incredibly full, and his sanity had never been so high.
The flower wreath on my head can finally be taken down.
Just as Kane was making his move, Hermione, who was reading a book and observing him, finally discovered the blind spot.
"So? Never mind, everyone has their own aesthetic sense, and this wreath is indeed quite nice."
Unlike Hermione's calm tone, the other two people in the carriage couldn't help but laugh once, but they didn't want to laugh out loud because that would be too impolite. So they just lowered their heads, their shoulders shaking, watching Kane's temples throb.
Soon, evening arrived, and Hermione finally put down her book and chose to go find the little wizard named Neville... the toad.
Kane was in a similar situation. He had been reading all morning, but his eyes felt sore and tired, so he had to take a nap in the afternoon. Now he was being woken up by Harry.
"Hurry up and change into your robes! We've arrived at our station, and we'll be seeing Hogwarts soon!"
Chapter Twenty: A Good Show at the Sorting Ceremony
Kane glanced at his wizard robes, ignoring Harry's embarrassment. After they got off the train, they saw Hagrid holding a lantern and beckoning to the first-year wizards.
"Hey, Kane, Harry, and Ron, hurry up and get on the boat over there, we're about to set sail!" Hagrid called Kane and the others onto the boat before turning to the other young wizards.
On the small boat, Kane watched as Harry and Ron looked at the brightly lit Hogwarts Castle in the distance with unavoidable surprise.
Then they looked at Kane, who remained as composed as a rock: "How come you're not surprised at all?"
"I was surprised too," Kane explained simply. How could he possibly say that he had already had a day trip to Hogwarts before even enrolling?
While he was enjoying himself at Hogwarts, Harry was wasting his time at his aunt's house. If Harry knew about this, they might not turn against each other, but he probably wouldn't be able to spend a single penny of his money in the future.
Soon another young wizard sat on the ship. He seemed dull and naive, with no ill intentions. The person who arranged for him to be on the ship was an acquaintance.
“I think Neville is too easy to bully. I have to go to the girls’ boat, so I put him on your boat.” Hermione explained quickly, “So you won’t bully him, right?”
Kane shrugged: "What kind of beasts do you take us for?"
"That's good, Neville. Get along well with your new friends." Hermione said, then walked away.
Ron, being a pureblood, naturally recognized Neville. He looked at Neville teasingly and said, "How come I didn't know you had an older sister in the Muggle world?"
Neville blushed: "Hermione isn't my sister, she's just a friend, and she's a really nice person."
“Yes, Neville… I remember you. We also know she helped you find the toad, did she find it in the end?” Harry added.
"No." Neville said, sounding somewhat disappointed.
"Hmm... I understand how you feel. It's like I have a new pet owl now, but I still keep my spotted mouse. I hope you find that little toad soon."
Hagrid soon walked over from a short distance away. He had already arranged for all the new students to board the ship, just like the four founders of Hogwarts, and to cross the Black Lake by ship to arrive at Hogwarts.
In the foyer, Kane skillfully kicked a crack in the wall with his toe, and a seat quickly appeared on the wall.
"Wow? How did you know Hogwarts could be like this?" Ron looked at Kane's relaxed demeanor, who didn't seem like a first-timer at Hogwarts at all.
"Read more books and newspapers, and all the walls at Hogwarts can be like that," Kane casually made up a lie.
Kane and his two companions sat on a small stone bench in the corner, all three feeling the same trepidation, wondering how the Sorting Ceremony would proceed.
Compared to Harry and Ron, Kane felt a little more regretful. He had been Dumbledore's bunkmate for a while, so why hadn't he thought to ask him about it?
Holding a mountain of treasure without realizing it... I regret it!
Suddenly, a commotion in the distance startled the group.
"What happened?" Harry stood up and glanced around, quickly realizing what was going on: "It must be Neville's toad. Somehow it got onto the head of a strange little wizard, and now this little wizard is forcing Neville to choose between killing the toad or getting beaten up."
“Well, it must be a difficult choice for him, but it’s not that difficult. Neville will definitely protect his toad.” Ron knew Neville well, and sure enough, Neville’s final choice was exactly as Ron had predicted.
Kane could hear the sounds of a lively brawl; such human fights were always so captivating, no matter when or where.
He immediately grabbed Harry and Ron, intending to go and see what was going on.
“Kane, can you be serious for once? Neville and we met once before,” Harry reminded him.
“I know, that’s why I went to protect Neville. If it’s just a symbolic punch to vent my anger, that’s fine, but what if that guy goes too far?” Kane said, pulling Harry and Ron to a spot closer to watch the drama unfold.
Judging from the scene, Neville must have been bullied by other children quite often. When he heard that he could be beaten in exchange for the toad's survival, he naturally curled up on the ground and hugged his head.
Meanwhile, a chestnut-haired wizard with a toad riding on his face squatted down next to Neville and started punching and kicking him.
"That chestnut-haired one is called Paul Anreira, a pureblood with good potential," Ron explained to Kane and the other.
There was no loss of control at the scene. After all, an eleven-year-old child wouldn't be able to exert much force when hitting someone, especially since Neville maintained that professional defensive stance. At most, his clothes were just slightly dirty.
However, Hermione, who had just squeezed into the crowd, couldn't bear to see this scene.
She swiftly pulled out her wand and pointed it at Paulanerla: "Stop, or don't blame me for being impolite!"
Anreira slowly stopped and looked at Hermione: "Who are you?"
“Hermione Granger, Neville’s friend!” Hermione said with a serious expression.
“Granger?” Paul Anreira looked up, clearly trying to recall, but he quickly remembered that there was no such surname among pure-blooded mixed-race British people.
“Hey, you mud-blooded kid, you can turn around and leave now, or I might beat you up again later.”
The moment the word "Mudblood" was uttered, the entire hall was instantly divided into three parts: the surprise and anger of the Lawful Good, the cheers and flattery of the Lawful Evil, and those like Kane and Harry who couldn't understand it at all.
The two of them quickly grabbed Ron, who was about to rush forward with his sleeves rolled up and wand in hand. Before they could even ask, Hermione, the other person in the eye of the storm, used the basic skills of a new generation of wizards to cast an unknown spell that started with zero frames, instantly making the originally soft robes on Paulanera as hard as steel.
Ron, who was originally planning to vent his anger on behalf of a friend he had only met once, suddenly calmed down. It seemed that Hermione could handle the situation on her own.
"By the way, you still haven't told us what Mudblood means?" Harry asked.
"The term is a derogatory term for a wizard of pure Muggle origin, and it is probably a hundred times more insulting than the term 'Son of the Beach'."
Kane scratched his head: "Me?"
“Although your magic doesn’t seem like something a pure Muggle wizard could use, a wizard who uses Mudblood curses certainly wouldn’t understand such complex logic, so… that’s how it is.” Ron considered for a moment and nodded slowly.
Then he and Harry stood quietly on either side of Kane. If he had just stuck Kane to the ceiling, that would have been fine, but what if...?
Meanwhile, on the other side, the necklace around Pol'anreira's neck flashed, revealing a constant stun charm that could protect him from some low-level curses. As his wizarding robes regained their softness, he too drew his spell and engaged Hermione in battle.
With a bang, Maxwell suddenly appeared behind Kane, watching this farce unfold.
“I roughly understand what this whole thing is all about. It’s about that so-called Sorting Ceremony, Kane,” Maxwell said quietly.
Chapter Twenty-One: Professor McGonagall's Sharp Explosion
"What brilliant ideas do you have?" Kane asked Maxwell.
“As we all know, the four houses are Gryffindor representing courage, Hufflepuff representing kindness, Ravenclaw representing wisdom, and Slytherin representing ambition. This play is a stage to select your respective houses.”
"That little girl named Hermione bravely stood up to protect her friends. She was kind and brave, perhaps like Hufflepuff or Gryffindor."
"If anyone else can cleverly solve the problem or cleverly avoid danger, it's most likely Ravenclaw. If someone can step forward to take charge and quell this farce, then their ability matches their ambition, and Slytherin will welcome them with open arms."
Kane raised an eyebrow after hearing Maxwell's explanation. It made surprisingly much sense. After all, if it weren't for this reason, Hogwarts wouldn't have made these young wizards stay in the unattended foyer for so long.
Thinking of this, he patted Harry and Ron on the shoulder: "Don't you both want to get into Gryffindor?"
“Of course.” Harry and Ron nodded instinctively.
“Now is the time to show our courage,” Kane said quietly.
"Show courage? You mean, this is the Sorting Ceremony?" Ron asked in shock, pondering Kane's words.
"Hmm..." Kane paused for a moment. If he was right, all would be well; if he was wrong...
He finally gave an ambiguous answer: "I didn't say that."
After saying that, he walked out of the crowd and headed towards Paul Anreira. Harry and Ron quickly followed. You know, even if you don't deal damage, you can still get gold in team fights!
At this moment, Paulanera had slowly pushed Hermione to the back foot. After all, no matter how talented she was, she couldn't catch up with a pure-blooded wizard who had been immersed in magic since childhood within a month.
Just as the final curse, capable of causing sores to erupt on one's head and oozing pus from one's feet, was about to strike Hermione, a shadowy claw suddenly rose from beneath her feet and shattered the curse.
Malfoy, who had decided not to get involved and was hiding in the crowd, looked at the familiar shadow and his face turned pale.
Bohr is in trouble, Bao is in trouble.
Meanwhile, the person involved, Paul Anreira, was completely unaware of why his spell had suddenly failed, only thinking that he was just unlucky.
Then, looking at Kane and the others who suddenly walked out of the crowd, they frowned. The Weasleys' poor bastards, Harry Potter who killed his parents?
Then he looked at Kane: "And there's another stranger I've never met before. Could he be another Mudblood?"
Malfoy, standing in the crowd, covered his face in exasperation and instructed Goyle and Crabbe beside him, "If Paul Anreira comes looking for me again, tell him I'm busy, and don't have any contact with him."
Kane raised his eyes and glanced at the person opposite him. Was he going to say something trash or start with zero frames?
In the end, he still felt that he shouldn't learn that kind of stereotypical villainous tricks. He just slightly raised his hand, and even though there was no candlelight behind his hand, a shadow crept up onto Paulanera's face.
Paul Anreira, completely bewildered by the scene, said, "I hope that from today onwards, you mudbloods will learn to maintain the most basic humility when you see any pureblood at Hogwarts."
As he spoke, he slowly shook his wand and chanted the spell in a measured manner: "Arra gorilla lanjin!"
As a crimson prank spell flew toward Kane, Kane, along with Harry and Ron, did not react at all.
The other young wizards, who knew that the curse would only cause headaches for a few hours, didn't think it was a big deal. Only Hermione hurriedly waved her wand, trying to use various methods to block the curse for Kane.
Neville did the same, getting up from the ground, wiping away his tears, and rushing straight towards Kane, displaying a tragic heroism reminiscent of someone rushing to catch a grenade on the battlefield.
