"One, two! One, two! One, two!"
The warship did not adjust its course and continued to sail straight ahead.
Reverse Mountain is one of the safer routes from the four outer seas (east, west, south, and north) to the Grand Line, excluding the Calm Belt. Each of the four outer seas has a counter-current channel leading directly to the top of Reverse Mountain.
From the mountaintop, the shipping routes of the East China Sea and the West China Sea are exactly on the same straight line.
Going against the current.
Inside the ship's cabin, the sailors worked hard to push and pull the various power units. The rows of large oars extending from both sides of the warship began to move, propelling it downstream along the channel and into the waters of the West Sea.
Compared to the ten minutes it took to go up the mountain, it took almost an hour and a half to go down.
It's not just about going against the ocean currents and defying nature, but also because the Dian Dao Shan shipping route in the West Sea is longer than that in the East Sea.
Naturally, it will cost more.
They did not encounter any sailing ships entering the Grand Line from the Western Seas along the way.
Thanks to the efforts of the marines, the warship sailed out of the reverse channel of the Inverted Mountain and officially entered the Western Sea.
Half a day later, on the deck, Mercer looked at the sea not far away, where a huge ice floe had appeared. He was a little puzzled, but then the warship sailed straight toward it.
Approaching.
A tall, disheveled man got up from the ice, then carried a bicycle and rode straight towards the warship.
The man appeared to be nearly three meters tall. A few seconds later, he landed on the deck of the warship and placed the bicycle steadily in a corner of the ship.
Moses could see that the sailors on the warship, especially the older ones, greeted the newcomers warmly, clearly as if they knew them well.
Bogart stepped forward, smiling as he patted the man on the shoulder. "Kuzan, what brings you here?"
The man named Kuzan, who was around thirty years old, yawned, looking languid, and rubbed the sleep from the corner of his eye.
"Yes, it's me. Where's Grandpa Garp?"
As he spoke, he shook his head to clear his mind, then yawned again, "Ah~" "You go ahead and do your thing, I'll go find him."
"Huh?" Kuzan suddenly noticed a little brat watching him curiously from the fence, and pointed at him with some confusion:
"Who is this little guy? I don't remember having such a small creature on Grandpa Garp's ship."
Bogart smiled. "Lieutenant General Garp's grandson. I just brought him along to broaden his horizons."
Kuzan's eyes widened slightly, and he said in disbelief, "That guy is so afraid of trouble, yet he takes care of children? I once asked him to be my apprentice, and he told me to get lost?"
At that moment, Garp poked his head out of the window on the second floor of the cabin, looking disgusted, and said:
"Kuzan brat, do you have no shame?"
It's like I didn't accept you?
how?
"So, after you finished your studies, you went out on your own and became independent, and now you don't recognize me anymore?"
Kuzan looked helpless: "Oh dear~ It's just curiosity. Besides, I won you over with my charm and perseverance."
I didn't say anything wrong. I came to you to become your apprentice, and at first you said things like, "Shut up, get out of here, don't deprive me of my freedom, go find another instructor to learn from."
At this point, Kuzan looked at Garp with a resentful expression. Garp blinked and chuckled.
"Did that happen? I don't remember it."
The marines standing nearby, watching the now-renowned "backbone" of the navy, Kuzan, and his own superior officer's "love-hate relationship," all wore maternal smiles.
They absolutely love to "eat" these interesting and juicy "juicy tidbits" about their bosses.
"Oh dear, you really do have a bad memory. By the way, why did you take on that thankless and difficult task this time?"
"Haven't you always been against this system?"
"Come up here and let's talk." Garp waved his hand and laughed, "It's been a while since I've seen you, come up and have some fun."
Kuzan smiled and said to Bogart, "Since he's spoken, I'll go up first and talk to you later."
Bogart waved his hand and said with a smile, "You go ahead and do your work. I don't have anything to do here. We can talk later when I'm free."
Kuzan spent quite a while on Garp's ship back then, and he had a good relationship with Bogart. They hadn't gotten together for a long time, so this was a good opportunity for them to reunite.
Seeing this, Moses was curious. When Kuzan entered the cabin, he followed him.
Walking behind Kuzan, one could feel a chill in the air. Soon, the two entered Garp's room one after the other.
As soon as he entered, Mercer took the teapot and poured a cup of tea for each of the three of them. Then he sat quietly on the sofa, holding his teacup and watching the two of them silently.
For a moment, the atmosphere in the room became somewhat awkward.
Kuzan looked at Garp, then at Mather, his expression somewhat peculiar. He then turned to Mather and said, "Oh dear, little brother, we need to get down to business. Why don't you go out and have some fun first?"
Moses ignored him and looked at Garp instead: "Master, are you about to tell me some secrets that I can't hear?"
Garp blinked, then shook his head. "It's nothing major, just some trivial matter about recruiting pirates. Listen if you want."
Upon hearing this, Mercer laughed and looked at Kuzan, saying, "You can begin now. I'll just listen and won't say anything."
As he spoke, he pinched the left corner of his mouth with his right index finger and thumb, then pulled it to the right, indicating that he would shut up.
Seeing this, Kuzan laughed, "Grandpa, your grandson is quite interesting. He's worthy of being your grandson; he's quite bold and not afraid of strangers."
Garp laughed smugly:
"Haha, don't you even know whose grandson Mercer is?"
I didn't praise you.
You're so smug!
Kuzan pursed his lips and sighed, "You haven't changed. You're still the same as before, still so willful."
Hearing this, Garp smiled dismissively, but his eyes drifted to Kuzan, and he sighed.
"But you, you... sigh."
I wanted to say something, but I didn't know how to start, so I just sighed.
"Let's not talk about that, Kuzan. Let's talk about this mission. What do you think of that guy? Is he up to the task?"
"The Lizard King Hanafza recently retreated from the New World, and for some unknown reason, he has recently gone to the Western Sea."
Interestingly, Gecko Moria is also in the West Blue, and even more interestingly, they both have some connection to Kaido of the Beasts.
Kuzan narrowed his eyes and said this.
"Gecko Moria, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea? He used to be a formidable guy, but after being defeated by Kaido a few years ago, he has been out of the spotlight for quite some time."
I don't know what he's been doing these past few years, but every time he appears, strange ghost stories circulate in the places where he is. They are all about famous battlefields where graves have been dug up, and corpses have come back to life and gone missing. But considering his Devil Fruit ability, it's safe to assume that he's the one who did these things.
As for that guy named Hanafza, he's quite mysterious. He went to Wano Country, and somehow, he suddenly left the New World with a lot of injuries. Recently, he ran back to his hometown, the West Blue.
This time, the target is him; the government has specially recruited him as a Shichibukai.
Kuzan listened to Karp's analysis and nodded in agreement. "I didn't expect you to know so much. Yes, it's him."
I'm a little confused. This task was originally assigned to me, so why did you suddenly come here?
This is also what puzzled Kuzan. He had just arrived in the West Blue when he was informed by Sengoku Admiral that he should wait for Vice Admiral Garp and go with him on this mission.
Is that Lizard King Hanafza really that powerful? It's surprising that it takes two of them to work together. Kuzan was quite puzzled.
Wouldn't that be giving him too much face? With their combined strength, they could easily handle those infamous monsters entrenched in the New World.
Upon hearing this, Garp laughed and said, "I'm just bored. Anyway, going back to headquarters is just a lot of trouble. I might as well come out and do a mission to shut them up. You're here too, so I thought we could come out and have some fun together."
Kuzan looked at Garp's subtle expression. He only believed about 30% of what Garp was saying. How could Garp, who hated trouble the most, take the initiative to take on a task for him?
"I think you just want to have fun. Go on a mission with me? I might end up doing the mission while you just have fun."
Garp's expression stiffened, then he scratched his head and chuckled, "What nonsense are you talking about? Let's not talk about that. Tell me, where is that Hanafza now?"
“The Kingdom of Troya,” Kuzan said. “It’s the kingdom next to the Flower Kingdom, a World Government member state that has been in a state of war for a long time. It’s very chaotic, with all sorts of people mixed together.”
I heard that several large gangs in the West Sea got involved in this recent war, and their members are practically fighting tooth and nail.
"Oh, by the way, I heard that Gecko Moria also went there about two weeks ago, and recently many towns there have started to spread ghost stories about zombies appearing at night and killing people."
"That's about all the latest intelligence we have."
"Okay, that's enough. We'll be there in a few days anyway. We'll see what happens then. I'm exhausted these past few days. I'm going to take a nap."
After saying that, Kuzan lay back, resting his head on the back of the sofa, his legs stretched out and dangling on the floor. Wearing small sunglasses, he started snoring within seconds.
Mercer glanced at him speechlessly, then asked Garp, "Master, is he your disciple?"
Why do you look so listless and sloppy?
Garp's lips twitched, he glanced at Kuzan, and said with a crooked mouth and squinted eyes:
"Who knows? He wasn't like this when he was young. Back then, he was a pure and passionate young man."
"Who would have thought that after doing a ghostly mission in the West Sea a few years ago, I would return looking like this."
"Heartbroken?" Mercer thought for a moment, then asked with curiosity, "Or did someone important die?"
Garp glanced at Messer and immediately laughed angrily, "Kuzan isn't the kind of person who cries and whines. He's my prized disciple."
"The eldest disciple?" Moses said, "That means there are also junior disciples. Who are they? Can you tell me?"
Garp rolled his eyes, looking like he didn't want to say more: "No, I've only taken in this one so far. Taking in just this one is already enough for me. If I take in a few more, I'll be exhausted."
"I think you're just lazy."
"Hiss!" Garp's eyes widened, and he gasped, "You're talking nonsense. Do you believe I'll beat you up?"
Mercer made a zipping motion with his right hand near his mouth, indicating that he was going to stop talking.
Garp chuckled and shook his head, then leaned back, squinted his eyes, and prepared to take a nap.
I saw two sleeping gods.
Moses also felt a little sleepy, so he immediately curled up on the sofa.
Soon, soft snoring began to rise and fall.
