Immediately afterwards, the scalpel was inserted into the philtrum in the middle of his upper lip, and the intense pain shot through his brain, instantly bringing him back to his senses.
"Go on, since you're part of a human trafficking gang, where do you sell your stolen goods?"
The man's right eye was bloodshot from the pain. His body trembled as he looked at the scalpel on his philtrum and said in a slightly trembling voice:
"The ship, our slave ships are in the port. We just finished a few big deals and were thinking of doing a few more on the way before heading to the Sabaody Archipelago to be sent back to headquarters for auction."
"How many people are there? What weapons do they have? What kind of ship is it? When are they leaving?"
"There are fifty people in total. The captain is Jacks. There are five squads, nine people in each squad. I am in the fifth squad. The rest of us are the captain, the three cooks, the navigator, and so on."
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we will depart at six o'clock tomorrow morning. Our weapons will be knives, guns, and swords, and our ship will be a large three-masted sailing ship with a black flag bearing the name "Blood Razor" on the mast.
Oh, by the way, our captain is a legendary Devil Fruit user; he's a blade man, very powerful.”
Mercer watched silently as he rattled off the information like spitting out beans, then slowly rose, pulling out a scalpel along the way. Before he could even feel happy, Mercer kicked him in the neck, causing him to hit his head on the ground and pass out.
In this fight, Moses still did not kill anyone.
Turning to look at the silent Bogart, Moses calmly said:
"Human traffickers, what a big ship! And so many abducted people! Does this late-arriving naval captain have any thoughts?"
Bogart's lips twitched. Where did this brat learn his sarcastic and infuriating way from? It's so annoying! I've never seen Vice Admiral Garp with this ability.
"I'll go find Lieutenant General Garp right now."
Messer nodded. "No doubt about it. After all, he's a Devil Fruit user, and a Blade Man at that. It's normal that Uncle Bogart can't beat him. Grandpa is a Vice Admiral, so he must be very powerful."
This is a lie.
Moses certainly wouldn't act like he knew everything.
Bogart's lips trembled with anger.
In this first half of the "paradise," as long as he didn't encounter any real monsters, he wasn't afraid of anyone. Even if that fat guy Du Feld was here, he wouldn't be scared at all.
It was over in one slash.
And this time.
"Grandpa is on vacation and probably too lazy to work. Uncle, do you want to earn some extra money? Let's arrest them. There must be treasure on the slave ship. We should be able to make a fortune. That way, you'll have savings for the female soldiers you want to marry from Lieutenant General Ahe."
Bogart stared blankly at Mercer, but he had to admit it was indeed an opportunity to earn some extra money, and he was somewhat tempted. Of course, rescuing the innocent was still the priority. Now that he knew about it, he couldn't pretend he hadn't seen it.
Just as he was about to speak, he heard Moses say:
"So, Uncle, are you sure you can handle it? Can you beat that Devil Fruit user? What if we both go and end up just adding to their income? That would be ridiculous. I'm still young and don't want to be someone's slave."
Bogart laughed angrily, gritting his teeth as he looked at Mather. "If you were someone with your grandfather's strength, I would have turned around and left without saying a word. Do you really think a worm from the underground and a loan shark's henchman is stronger than your grandfather or a vice admiral?"
Moses laughed too.
"Then it's a deal. We'll split the profits 50/50, no, 40/30. You get 40%, and my grandpa and I each get 30%. What do you think?"
Bogart: "Reason."
"I lured these people out, I dealt with them, and I extracted the information from them through interrogation. I'm going to join the battle later to try my best to protect the victims. It's not unreasonable for me to take 30% of the profits, is it?"
Boga nodded, signaling for Messer to continue.
"You'll be the main attacker. You'll be responsible for dealing with the Devil Fruit users and the powerful slave-hunting group. You'll do the most dangerous work and get 40% of the profits. The remaining 30% will go to Vice Admiral Garp as a safeguard for the two of us. If that loan shark king comes looking for trouble in the future, let Grandpa handle it."
"how?"
Bogart gave Moses a complicated look, seeing how thoughtful he was: "You're young but shrewd, that's good."
Moses smiled happily and immediately handed a small portion of the Beli he had just plundered to Bogart.
"This is your 40%. Now that you've joined, you'll have a share in this preliminary battle."
Boga gave Messer a fixed look and said with a wry smile, "You little rascal, you're really something."
"Even close brothers should keep clear accounts. If we've agreed on a profit-sharing ratio, then we'll stick to it."
Bogart accepted it.
After glancing at the few human traffickers who were still groaning, Bogart walked over and kicked each of them, causing them to fall into a deep coma with the sound of bones cracking.
"Heh, I guess I did my part, so it's not like I got it for nothing."
Mercer's eyes widened slightly, his face showing an expression of having learned something.
Bogart blushed slightly at the sight.
The two immediately left the alley and headed straight for the port.
……
port.
Even when it gets dark.
It was still a bustling scene with people coming and going.
Both of them possess Observation Haki, giving them a wide range of perception. The port, which wasn't particularly large, was brought under their control in just a few breaths.
There must be a lot of biological scents on the human traffickers' boat, so the two of them quietly went to investigate.
They specifically choose those with a strong aroma.
Although the port is not very large, it is a tourist destination with a large number of ships, so it is not easy to find one in a short time.
Halfway there.
Mercer asked, "By the way, I've heard that some users of Observation Haki can sense the emotions of living beings, such as fear. Uncle, can you do that?"
Bogart was taken aback, then realized what he meant and his face darkened: "That's an extremely rare trait, very few people can awaken it, so I won't."
As soon as he finished speaking, as if in retaliation, Bogart said calmly, "And what about you? Can you sense emotions?"
Moses was helpless.
He rolled his eyes at Bogart, as if he were looking at an idiot.
"If I could sense it, would I be asking you? I would be taking you straight to the slave ship right now."
We searched for them one by one.
Knowing the ship's shape, a dozen minutes later, in a secluded corner, a three-masted sailing ship appeared, its black flag bearing the name "Blood Razor," and the atmosphere on board was chaotic.
At that moment, the two knew that this was their goal.
Bogard pulled Mercer's hand, and the two crossed the slave ship, glancing discreetly at the sailors on the opposite deck who were eating meat, chatting, and making strange noises.
A few minutes later, I walked to a corner.
Mercer looked up at Bogart and said, "What, why don't you take out your big sword and just rush up and chop them all down in a few strokes?"
Bogart sighed. "We don't know the condition of the victims inside yet. What if they threaten me with hostages if we rush in?"
"Why don't you just rush up and chop them down, then yell 'I'm a pirate, hand over your treasure and I'll spare your lives'? Have you ever seen anyone use hostages to threaten a pirate?"
Bogart sighed, "It's better to be safe than sorry. I'm in the Navy, I can't just stand by and watch someone die. If that happens, even though I'm confident, no one can guarantee that nothing unexpected will happen."
"Then what do you want to do?" Moses was speechless and said irritably, "How about I go up and walk right into their trap, let them throw me into the slave cell, and then use my Observation Haki to sense you and send you a message? I can also protect the hostages, so you won't have any worries at all?"
Bogart's eyes suddenly lit up as he looked Mercer up and down. She was fair-skinned, cute, and, most importantly, small, only about a meter tall. No one would be wary of such a little devil.
Moses felt uneasy under Bogart's gaze and said speechlessly, "Aba aba, you wouldn't..."
With a "smack," Bogart slapped Mercer hard on the shoulder with both hands, making Mercer wince in pain. Bogart said excitedly, "Mercer, you really are a genius. I didn't misjudge you. This method is brilliant."
“I have reason to believe that you are settling a personal score on this matter. There are Devil Fruit users on that ship. Although I also sympathize with the victims, I don’t want to risk my life to save strangers.”
Bogart sighed. "I know this will put you at considerable risk, but I assure you, if you are in danger, I will get you out immediately. Your safety is my top priority. Trust me."
Looking at Bogart's determined eyes, Mercer sighed, "I give up, I agree."
With a shrug, she shook off Bogart's hand, rubbed her face vigorously, took a deep breath, and relaxed her whole body.
He took off his shoulder bag and handed it to Bogart, then skipped and hopped away, just like a normal little boy his age.
Bogart stared in disbelief, his lips twitching. After a few seconds, he managed to stammer, "This kid's got some skills."
I learned something.
……
Looking at the sailors laughing and joking on the ship, Mercer cupped his hands into a megaphone and shouted, "Hey!!! Gentlemen, is this a passenger ship?"
Hearing the noise, one of the people on the ship alertly walked to the railing and looked down. He saw Moses below and narrowed his eyes: "Kid, where are your parents?"
Moses' eyes welled up with tears: "Waaah, my uncle was killed by pirates. I finally escaped, and all I want now is to go back to Water Seven. I have money, can you take me there?"
As she spoke, she took out a stack of pelies from her pocket, the ones she had just seized, and said aggrievedly, "This is all I have. Is it enough? If not, I'll ask my grandpa to make up for it when I get home."
As if afraid they wouldn't believe him, Moses hurriedly added, "My grandfather is very powerful. He's a high-ranking official. Please, I beg you."
The people on the boat looked at each other, but they were not about to let go of the easy prey they had already caught, especially since the place was remote and deserted.
One of them immediately laughed and said, "Poor little guy, okay, uncle agrees."
After lowering the rope ladder, the man got off the ship, rubbed Moses's head, put his arm around Moses's waist, and quickly climbed onto the deck.
As soon as they reached the deck, Moses noticed that the people were secretly looking around. A dozen seconds later, the man who carried Moses onto the ship laughed and said, "It's so late, little one must be tired. Uncle will take you to rest. We'll arrive at Water Seven by noon tomorrow."
As he spoke, he subtly snatched Bailey from Moses's hand, tossed it around, and said with a smile:
"Little one, this amount of money isn't enough for the boat ticket. Remember to have your grandpa make up the difference later."
"Okay!"
Greedy fellow.
Amidst the envy of the others, the man stuffed Bailey into his pocket and pulled Moses into the cabin.
No one will come to check if it's just a little kid.
Pulled along, Mercer curiously surveyed the ship's layout, which was quite ordinary. As they walked along the corridor, Mercer asked, "Uncle, when do we set off?"
"Uncle?"
The man ignored Moses and continued walking forward. At the end of the corridor, near the stern, a staircase led to the next floor.
"Uncle?" Mercer called out again.
At the top of the stairs, the man frowned, lowered his eyes to look at Mercer, and shouted, "Shut up, or I'll kill you!"
