Chapter 1 The Clown

"what…"

"Cough! Cough!"

"Ha...hahahaha!"

In the damp and gloomy cabin, three prisoners were imprisoned in three sturdy-looking cages placed side by side.

One was huddled in a corner of the cage, while the other in the middle had a slumped face and was full of gloom.

There was another one, lying on a metal plate, its body hunched over, yet it managed to squeeze out bursts of eager, joyful laughter.

How can I not laugh?

Bucky turned his head to the side, and the moonlight shone through the round window onto his face.

He had a bone "X" drawn on his forehead, a very noticeable red nose, bright red lips, and a stubble beard.

He held the corners of his mouth with two index fingers and laughed, his lips twitching.

"Ha ha…"

I'm so happy!

Such interesting and wonderful things happen in the world!

This is so exciting!

Bucky's face was pressed against the floor, twisting and turning. He had three people in his mind right now.

One is a college student who works part-time as a clown at an amusement park, trying his best to make the children in front of him laugh.

The child frowned, thinking the adult was very immature.

One of them is a patient at Arkham Asylum who calls himself Jack, but he is more commonly known as the Joker.

In my memory, Jack was straightening his tie in front of the mirror, trying to force a smile onto his face, which was completely corroded by chemicals.

A radio nearby was broadcasting news of a terrorist attack on a bank in Gotham City.

There's also Buggy, the most famous clown on the Grand Line.

Ugly Emperor!

That is, the original owner of this body.

While leading his men on a treasure hunt, they accidentally stumbled into a secret naval base, where they encountered several familiar-looking children and a fat man wielding a large axe.

He was then arrested on the spot.

The three people's memories were like kneading dough: two parts Bucky's, five parts Jack's, and three parts the part-time college student's.

Mix them together and stir vigorously in one direction.

Then slam it down harder.

Continue kneading the three together until they are completely combined and have a gel-like texture.

What a magical and joyful thing this is!

Bucky felt an indescribable sense of fulfillment.

Like when the Joker first saw that extremely twisted, contradictory, and incredibly interesting leather-clad guy in the newspaper.

It's like when a college student receives their first part-time job paycheck and treats themselves to a Big Mac meal at McDonald's.

He lost the fun of one city, but gained the fun of the whole world.

I'm so happy.

……

……

"Shut up, you piece of trash!"

The gloomy man raised his head, revealing a fierce expression.

In the gloomy and stifling cabin, this cheerful laughter was utterly jarring.

If his hands and feet weren't shackled and he wasn't imprisoned alone in this cage that resembled a slave's den, he was certain he would have captured that red-nosed guy and used him to fish for sea kings!

"I'm sorry, hahaha, I'm sorry..."

"I just couldn't help it!"

Bucky sat up, waved his hand, wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, and apologized sincerely, if not for the grin on his face.

"I can't help but laugh just thinking about how we're about to go to the underwater prison!"

"Aren't you excited? The legendary prison no one can escape from, the first floor, the second floor, the third floor..."

He gestured to the gloomy man next door and another man huddled in the shadows in a corner, his face obscured, as if assigning them to a cell.

"The Crimson Lotus Hell, with its vast forest of sword trees whose leaves are like blades; the Beast Hell, teeming with all sorts of venomous snakes and ferocious beasts; and the Hunger Hell, unbearably hot and deprived of both food and water..."

Bucky described the scenes of hell in an exaggerated and expectant tone.

The incessant chatter made the gloomy man's face turn extremely pale, and his slightly trembling arms made a whooshing sound as the iron shackles clicked.

Impel Down, the absolute nightmare of all pirates who roam this ocean!

The endless torture and the absolute impenetrability terrified them!

They were on a transport ship bound for an underwater prison.

They were all criminals being escorted.

"No...don't say anymore!"

"I told you to stop talking!"

Behind the gloomy man's fierce appearance lies extreme fear.

Being in hell is painful, but the slow descent into hell, the quiet waiting for the knife to fall on your neck, is an excruciating torment.

"Oh, you're scared?"

Bucky tilted his head, a beaming smile on his face.

His observations are very keen.

He was all bark and no bite; he was clearly terrified but still put on a deep and sinister act. There were faint stitches on his arm with the cross tattoo, and his expression changed slightly when he raised his hand.

This kid is definitely hiding something.

What can be hidden under the skin undetected is most likely some kind of flat, sharp object...

If the other person hadn't been trembling uncontrollably with fear, Bucky might not have noticed.

Looks like I'm pretty lucky.

Bucky narrowed his eyes, a series of ideas popping into his head.

Such an interesting world, if I were to stay in a cage, following the plot trajectory in my memory and being locked up in the underwater prison, and then wait for some hot-blooded kid to come and cause a ruckus before I could get out, wouldn't that be too boring?

Unchanging.

That would be a terrible waste of the miraculous changes that have happened to me!

He hesitated for a moment, then suddenly rushed to the edge of the cage, his ferocious face staring directly at the gloomy man, and said in a very sharp and grating tone:

"Since you know fear, and since you don't want to go to hell, then give me what you're hiding on your arm!"

"You don't want the guards to know you've hidden something, do you, my dear cellmate?"

Pakistan is also very familiar with people like those who can intimidate others.

In the honest and simple-minded city of Gotham, there are many such scoundrels.

All you need to do is use words as hooks to draw out his uncontrollable fear, destroy his facade, and then use a sudden and direct rebuke...

"How...how did you know!"

The gloomy man opened his eyes wide, his palms covered in cold sweat.

He had once suffered a serious knife wound on his right arm, leaving a visible scar. Later, he had a sudden inspiration to cover it up with a tattoo while hiding a sharp blade inside.

As their last trump card.

really…

Bucky's smile grew even brighter, his eyes narrowed, and he even habitually stuck out his tongue and licked the corner of his mouth.

He was still somewhat unaccustomed to the absence of chemical corrosion and the erosion caused by knife cuts.

"Give it to me, or have the Navy shoot you right now."

“We all know that this thing can’t do anything now, even if it’s in a big prison, otherwise you wouldn’t have kept it until now…”

"Right?"

Bucky's words were like the devil's whispers, one after another dispelling the gloomy man's inner resistance.

A blade is of little use, not even in the legendary underwater prison, let alone on the warship we're on now.

Moreover, there was a hidden threat in their words...

He lowered his head, preparing to tear open the wound with his mouth.

"Fifteen million Berries, Pirate Buggy."

"Ha, the Navy really underestimated you."
