"Hahahaha... Long time no see, Duke of De, indeed, even if I've become like this, I'm still 'Saint' George' in front of you bunch of trash."
Darkness waved its hand dismissively, as if it were the master of this land.
"I've heard the jokes, I've done the experiments, and I've greeted everyone."
"Hmm... I hope you corrupt ones don't show your faces in front of Raymond..."
"You don't need to agree to me, because this doesn't require your consent."
“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to kill you all, so Raymond won’t be able to see you. Hahaha, a brilliant decision, isn’t it?”
Darkness laughed heartily, as if he had just performed another successful childish act in Andrei—no, much more delighted.
"I left my mark on that human boy, and today is truly my lucky day. Hmm, you should all be here by now. Let me take you all down this time."
"Don't think I'd be like that fool and care about old feelings. Former servants of the Holy Light, you have chosen a dark path."
"Then let's face the darkness at the end of the darkness."
"Hahahaha, the thought of being able to completely eradicate the bloodline of Galaron makes me so happy I could cry."
"You degenerate bastards, go to hell and repent!"
A terrifying aura erupted from the darkness, and fear and despair nearly engulfed the fallen legion.
Too powerful. The Fire Angel is even more powerful than they imagined. Its mere pressure is enough to drive the Fallen to despair.
Angel of Fire, Angel of Judgment, Punisher of Darkness, Butcher of Holy Light. Memories of the past have driven them to the brink of madness; they have abandoned reason, for reason only leads them to compromise with such power.
The Fallen surrendered everything to instinct, and having drunk the blood of the gods, they were corrupted by the bloodline of evil gods and would not tolerate any existence greater than themselves.
The Fallen rose to their feet, their claws outstretched, and they roared madly into the darkness.
"Have you completely turned into monsters... How disappointing, I was hoping to hear more of your wails."
Duke Delaris revealed his true form, his ugly, twisted limbs stretching out as he proclaimed to the darkness.
“This legion will become the force for the revival of our Loshutar. St. George, you cannot stop us. With the help of this Legion of Galarón, I will be able to defeat you.”
Blood gathered in the void and entered Duke Delaris's body, and the Fallen Legion, now under a powerful leader, roared with excitement.
The power of the Vampire Grand Duke has surpassed that of darkness; it is the bloody wealth accumulated from the atrocities committed by the Loshutar family in Dagonris.
Darkness pinched his chin. "Although you seem to be able to fight, you weren't afraid. My original intention was to let you struggle and die in despair."
"Besides, wouldn't it be beneath me to personally kill this bunch of trash?"
Darkness slowly rose, looking down upon everything from its lofty height.
“Duke, this is your first time commanding a Crusader Legion, isn’t it? Come, let me teach you how to control these legions.”
“Apart from Raymond, every Crusader leader has his own legion, and these legions each have their own characteristics.”
"The Guardians are characterized by a collective consciousness, which is already a well-known secret."
"I don't know the Purifier's secrets, because I killed him before he could summon the Legion."
“But, as the leader of the Judges,” Darkness smiled slightly, “I can tell you the secrets of the Judges.”
"I'm a restless person, and I spend most of my time out partying. To deal with that guy Raymond, I even sacrificed a talent to compensate for my legion."
"The Judges are the darkness of the Holy Light, the sharp blade that punishes foreign enemies, the most mobile legion, and the hunters."
"You must be very curious, how did the Inquisitors become the Crusaders of the Outer World, and how did they appear on every battlefield?"
"Those who knew this secret are all dead."
"Hehehe, now I'll reveal the answer to you."
Shadows gathered in the hands of darkness, and raging shadows soared into the sky, devouring the moonlight.
Darkness tore apart the shadows of Drogonris, transforming itself into supreme darkness.
"That's because, whether in life or after death, I can summon a massacre, or rather, a just reckoning, at any time and in any place."
In Duke Delaris's wide-eyed gaze, beneath the lunar eclipse, on his dark face, only a bloodthirsty smile remained.
Seven Locks, the power of a king.
"By the Holy Light."
"Judgment has arrived."
The shadow that devoured the moon crashed down, and from within the black mist, a group of knights clad in black armor, swords in hand, appeared before the Fallen Legion.
The Legion of Judges has descended upon the battlefield.
Chapter 496 Dark Trial
Algernon, commander of the Inquisitors' Legion, was once a cheerful paladin. Later, he joined the Inquisitors and met their leader.
Saint George Edmund, the Angel of Fire.
Algernon now despises angels, especially that angelic leader who laughs maniacally as he rains down fire, burning everything in his path. He's heard the angels of the Guardians are humble gentlemen, and the angels of the Purifiers are elegant nobles. Why, why does the angel of the Judges act like a thug?
Algernon soon realized that he had underestimated his leader.
Judgment has arrived. St. George's Seven Locks ability grants him the power of teleportation over extremely long distances with no time difference. This is mandatory, and the target is locked onto all those who will be judged.
Algernon had lost count of how many times he had experienced this: when everything went black, he and his comrades found themselves bewildered on the battlefield, facing a roaring, fully armed enemy, while the judge might be holding a broom meant for cleaning churches.
"Kill them, Judge!" The arrogant roar echoed above his head as Saint George charged into the enemy ranks with a maniacal laugh.
The judges followed their leader and charged into the enemy ranks, even though they were only wearing underwear.
There's no way around it; this is the heart of the battlefield. If you don't kill the enemy, you'll be the one who dies.
As the Judges, having narrowly annihilated their enemies, cheered and celebrated, their bodies soaked in blood, they looked up to find their leader gone. St. George, their leader had abandoned the entire Judges legion in this desolate land of unknown origin and flown away.
The Judge Knight returned to the camp after two months, and the first thing he did was put on his brand-new armor, and from then on, he never parted with his sword.
This was the standard procedure throughout the Crusades.
The judges are thrown into unknown areas, usually facing a large group of enraged enemies. The judges kill as they search for a way back to the military camp, or wait for the next trial to begin.
While the Judge terrified the enemies of the Holy Light, Algernon was numb; even when he managed a smirk, it was a maniacal laugh reminiscent of that devil.
"Kill all the enemies, burn everything, Judges, annihilate!" Without any plan or military drill, the Fire Angels randomly deployed a group of Judges knights who would either win or die, just like in a brawl. After countless battles, the Judges became the most ferocious legion among the three legions.
It wasn't until Algernon was promoted to legion commander that he noticed another side of the mischievous and troublemaking angel.
The Inquisitors' Legion never suffered a loss during the Crusades. St. George was the most fervent warrior of the Light, always at the forefront, drawing all enemy fire and becoming the focus of the battlefield. He never celebrated the Inquisitors' victories, but his laughter would never cease to echo in their ears until victory was achieved.
The judges, including Algernon, gradually grew accustomed to the thrill of being parachuted in front of the enemy, especially their terrified faces, which always brought them laughter.
Until that day, the Holy Light collapsed.
With the fall of the angels, the three legions have all lost their way.
The Judges Legion was the first legion to regain its senses, after all, the missing angel never interfered.
But when Algernon severed the heads of heretics with his blade and saw the despair on their faces, he always felt that something was missing.
The Judge needs an angel; if our angel dies, then let me take his place.
……
"Finally, that familiar feeling..."
Algernon, blade in hand, sank into the rising shadows beneath his feet.
When I awoke again, the enemy's terrified face was still before me, though it seemed somewhat familiar.
"George! Now you are also the judge's target!"
A clear, ethereal voice appeared above him, a familiar voice completely different from the one he knew before. Shadows flowed beneath the Judge's feet, adding another layer of coldness to his black armor.
"Hahahaha, I've taught these guys that the Judges are jackals who chase power. They will do anything to pursue power, by any means necessary, even if it means allying with evil. You are just snacks, and as for me, hehehehe, they can't beat me."
The darkness laughed loudly and pointed forward.
"Judges! Slay these degenerate traitors!"
The Judges did not move. They looked up at the dark, indistinct mass hovering above them. They glanced at each other, then turned their gaze to their commander, Algernon.
Faced with the darkness of falling into the void, the Judge hesitates.
Algernon looked up into the darkness, raised his sword, and pointed it directly into the darkness.
Mr. Darkness grinned.
"Oh, you're ready to face me, Algernon?"
Algernon's face contorted into a maniacal grin, mirroring the darkness itself.
"George, you're the dog."
"Shadow Copy, Worshipper".
Algernon extended a shadow tentacle from his hand, rushing towards the darkness. The shadow tentacle didn't attack; instead, it connected with the darkness, becoming a link of power, copying and imitating the darkness's strength.
The Legion of Judges received its command, and its surging tentacles reconnected the fallen angels with the legions of darkness.
Hahaha, hahaha.
The wings of the void stretched out, and the entire Legion of Judges transformed into a void form identical to the darkness. They grinned, joining the darkness in facing the Fallen, displaying a savage and bloodthirsty smile.
A longsword flew from its scabbard on Algernon's back, hovering in the void, lingering before the darkness, emitting a dim, gloomy light.
Darkness raised an eyebrow and gripped the hilt of the sword.
A light, intertwined with darkness, burst forth from the sword.
"Darklight Sword... Hehe ...
Darkness roams the night sky, and the Void Knights, thronging around, have raised their swords. At a single command, they will once again annihilate their enemies.
"Galaron! Loshutar! I will burn every drop of your blood, and let you wail eternally in the fires of hell!"
Darkness surged toward Duke Delaris.
Algernon looked at the Legion of Judges who had been left behind once again. The Judges, now in a void state, looked around before turning their gaze to the Legion Commander.
The emptiness in his face revealed no speechlessness.
