Originally, without understanding the nature of the power of hell, Lyle would have been helpless.

But he understood. The power of hell is a power of fear. A powerful emotional force, and emotions originate from the soul.

Although Lyle's understanding of soul science was terrible and only at the beginning, he still remembered how to dispel fear—the first lesson Troy taught him: the soul's scream.

The soul's scream can dispel the power of fear and partially block the "gas" pipes beneath hell.

Inside the bone spear embedded in the ground, Nia's flesh was moving; she had already touched the depths of the earth. With just a thought from Lyle, Gorgalan Black Abyss would "die."

In theory, it's very simple.

However, Lyle's frail body was the biggest obstacle to carrying out all of this.

He was exhausted, both physically and mentally. He felt like all his blood was draining away, his vision was starting to go black, and his hearing was gradually weakening. He felt like he was about to go into shock at any moment.

His body swayed precariously, unable to support his own weight, and he had to shift his center of gravity onto the bone spear.

"Lyle, just hang in there a little longer, Nia will definitely beat that stupid prince to a pulp!"

“Okay, Nia.” Lyle replied simply to Nia, then turned his gaze back to Gaugaran’s tall frame.

Prince Black Abyss stood like a mountain, a statue, and remained silent for a moment after Lyle finished his declaration.

"I take back what I said, Plague Doctor." Gao Jialan opened his eyes, a ferocious smile appearing on his demonic face.

"I apologize for the disparaging remarks I made about Andre Academy. You are a worthy warrior."

“As a sign of respect for the Plague Doctor, I will now unleash my full power.” Gao Jialan’s eyes flashed with a dangerous cold light. “I will carefully and meticulously shatter every bone fragment in your body.”

Lyle chuckled and answered listlessly.

"Come, Prince of the Abyss."

Before Lyle could finish speaking, the towering demonic figure had already teleported in front of him.

"Extinction, one strike."

The enormous fist kept growing larger in front of Lyle.

A soul-piercing scream! From beneath the earth, Nia let out a furious roar, rapidly ascending towards Lyle's true form.

The black smoke around Gao Jialan disappeared, and his aura did indeed weaken somewhat, but he was still dangerous.

The power of hell has indeed been suppressed.

"Lyle! Lyle! Grab the gun! Attack!" Nia shouted anxiously, just one second away from regaining control of Lyle's body.

But even this one second felt so slow.

Lyle slowly pointed the muzzle of Vilimro at Gaugaran's head.

Just a hair's breadth away, just a thought, a thought to drive magic, and Vilimro would have shattered that arrogant demon's skull.

But it was just a tiny bit off.

Lyle couldn't even muster a thought to attack; the resilient human had lost consciousness.

Freed from Nia's restraints, the hellish power climbed back onto Gaugalan's body and, with a fierce attack, slammed into the human flesh and blood.

Gao Jialan looked at the fist in confusion; his fist was already pressed against that fragile, thin body.

But nothing happened; there was no bloodshed, no broken bones.

Only black mud.

A layer of black sludge gushed out of Lyle's body.

"Hehehehehe..." A strange laugh rang out in front of Gao Jialan. He looked up and saw that face.

He was looking at himself, with Lyle's face.

Its eyeballs seemed to be swallowed by darkness, with no whites, and its face bore a sinister smile, emitting eerie laughter. Black sludge flowed from the corners of "Lyle's" eyes, mouth, and nose.

The power of hell burned within Him, but it did not harm Him.

"Giggle giggle giggle..." Wriggling flesh mixed in with black mud, pulling at the broken body, twisting and deforming.

The laughter of the boy and the girl mingled together, growing along with their twisted limbs.

In the end, what appeared before Gaugalan was a black giant shrouded in the power of fear.

That filthy, evil voice was chanting a simple word, revealing boundless malice.

Lyle

Chapter 401 Hell Blossoms

Lyle.

A simple word.

A name, a title.

But that wasn't the case in that foul voice.

Lyle

That was a hint.

That was a spell.

That's a switch.

A switch that turns weakness into strength, a line that divides hope into fear.

The power of hell burned on his body, like cast iron returning to the furnace that nurtured it, revealing its true form.

Fear, a fear mixed with a chaotic will, constitutes His incarnation.

Its name is Lyle, its power is fear, and its form is an omen of doom.

The intensely concentrated hellish power condensed into a sludge of malice, spreading out beneath its feet to form a black pool.

His slender, gaunt body was like a hemp stalk, and his elongated limbs resembled withered branches. He stood frozen in place, his head, ignited by the power of hell, formless and intangible, and the eerie laughter seemed to emanate from nowhere.

He felt the gaze upon him, a malice emanating from all directions. It was as if that sinister laughter originated from the depths of his own heart. The Black Abyss Prince felt a tremor in his heart; a primal fear was forming within him.

The terror of facing the inviolable unknown is impacting the demon race's rationality.

"Gluck cluck cluck..."

The enormous black figure did nothing but stand there, emitting a terrifying laugh.

No, I can't wait any longer. With each passing second, Gao Jialan felt herself getting closer to the suffocating fear. She was facing her fear head-on, she was succumbing to it.

Suppressing his inner vulnerability, Prince Black Abyss's eyes turned cold once more.

"Burning Demon Blood".

The demonic runes on Gao Jialan's chest glowed with a molten crimson light, and the suppressed temperature finally rose again. The pain of burning flesh lessened the fear and ignited the demon's rage.

“I see, Mr. Plague Doctor, Lyle is your real name... I must say, this sense of oppression is quite a gift.” The gloom on Gao Jialan's face vanished, replaced by a fanatical smile, almost demonic. “You are truly a worthy opponent, Lyle!”

"Prepare to face my wrath!!!"

"Annihilation Strike!"

Having assumed his stance, Gao Jialan swung his fist again. The Black Abyss Prince, his entire body engulfed in flames, struck the fragile, rotten wood-like body like a meteor.

The entire plane trembled violently.

Click...click.

The towering giant, wreathed in hellish power, broke in two from the center, like a bent chopstick shattered into two pieces.

Click...click.

Lyle felt a splitting headache, and he clutched his head as he awoke from the pain.

I opened my eyes and looked at the strange scenery around me.

It was a hazy starry sky with a ghastly green aurora, and I was floating in that starry sky.

Where am I? Wasn't I fighting Gorgalan in Hell? Is the battle over?

Lyle quickly examined his body. It was intact; every organ was in its proper place. There was no damage, nothing was missing. It was as if nothing had ever happened.

Lyle had a bad feeling.

No way, did Gao Jialan just punch me and take me out? Is this some kind of heaven? Wait, where's Mr. Raymond?

With a click, Lyle felt a sharp pain, like a head renovation, in his head again, pulling him back to reality.

I am definitely still alive; if I were dead, I wouldn't feel any pain anymore.

Regaining his composure, Lyle began to observe his surroundings. A strange sense of familiarity welled up within him; he seemed to know this place, everything here, even the stars, yet he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Lyle began to search his memory for that familiar feeling.

He went through his memories and actually found it.

Stone fragments, Soul Stealers, Land of Souls.

This is the land of souls, and it seems to belong to my own soul.

It seems that due to his own shock, his consciousness accidentally entered the realm of souls. He needs to get out quickly; if Gorgalan shatters his physical body, he'll only have two choices: death or becoming a ghost. Although Ariana certainly wouldn't object, wouldn't it be better to just be a decent human being?

As he pondered, Lyle began to pull his consciousness upward, following the ritual he remembered.

As a result, he was stuck. He was trapped in a soul space; another consciousness had taken over his body, and Lyle couldn't get out! What was going on?!

Before Lyle could even begin to worry, his head started throbbing again, this time with a splitting pain as if his skull were cracking open.

It really cracked! Lyle stared in astonishment as a fissure appeared in his soul space, a rift appearing in the starry sky. From the crack, black sludge was being poured into his soul space.

What's going on?! What's gotten into my brain?!

The black filth polluted all colors, turning them black, and gradually tarnished Lyle's will.

This is the power of fear! A high concentration of the power of fear, and I can even use it?!

Feeling the highly concentrated "gas" churning up and down under his control, Lyle didn't know whether it was a good thing or a bad thing.

If I can use the power of hell, does that mean my physical body can regenerate at a high speed like the demons?
