"You two bastards!!!"
Chapter 31 A Surprise Around the Corner
The speed of the flying carpet was quite impressive; in just a few hours, the group arrived in Ghost Lotus City from Magnolia.
Ghost Lotus City is clearly not as prosperous as Magnolia, after all, there are neither powerful magic guilds nor famous tourist attractions here.
"So, where should we go to investigate?"
After disembarking from the flying carpet, the group wandered aimlessly through the streets. Investigating the location of the Iron Forest was no easy task. The Dark Guilds were gathering places for thugs and criminals, not well-known tourist destinations, so their locations were usually well-hidden and not easily found.
"The book says the best places to get information are, firstly, bars, and secondly..."
At this point, Kira seemed to remember something and suddenly stopped, "Let's go to the bar where Erza met them before."
Erza nodded beside her: "That's what I was thinking too. How about this, Gray and I will go to the bar we went to before, and you four, Kira, Natsu, Happy, and Lucy, can go around town and gather some information. We'll meet here in two hours."
"I see."
Although he readily agreed, after watching Erza and Gray leave, Kira began to deceive the naive girl: "Let's split up and act separately, it'll be more efficient that way."
In this unfamiliar place, facing an entire dark guild, Lucy felt uneasy: "Huh? Should we split up?"
"Yes, Natsu and Happy aren't very bright, so I'll leave them to you to look after them. I'm going to act alone now. Goodbye!"
After saying that, Kira turned and left without waiting for their objections, leaving behind a somewhat doubtful and confused Lucy, a silly Happy, and a hot-blooded Natsu.
Kira wasn't slacking off for one person's sake; he just wanted to give Natsu and Lucy some time alone together. Back in the day, he was a staunch Natsu/Lucy shipper!
"We still have two hours left. What should we do now? Maybe we should find a place to sit down and get something to eat... Wait, what's that?"
Kira was walking along the road talking to himself, figuring out how to kill two hours of afternoon tea time, when he caught sight of something good out of the corner of his eye.
"Could that be the legendary..."
I cautiously looked around. Good, no one around me was paying attention to me.
Humming an unknown tune, he slowly approached his target, pretending not to care. Then he quickly squatted down and pretended to tie his shoelaces. When he stood up, he casually picked up the small white card at his feet.
Kira shielded his eyes from the faint holy light emanating from the card, his eyes widening in disbelief. The card featured an alluring picture and a few tempting words.
Sure enough, it was that kind of thing! I never expected to run into this by such a coincidence, and to have so much time at that. It's like fate!
Kira gave a mysterious smile...
……
Two hours later, at the food street.
"50% off the whole street is just too awesome!" Kira put his left hand on his hip, gently patted his stomach with his right hand, and savored the delicious food he had just eaten. "Ah, what a wonderful afternoon! It's about time to meet up with them."
As soon as Kira turned the corner, he bumped into someone.
Life is often full of surprises and accidents. Although the collision with the newcomer was unexpected, who is Kira? An experienced magician, he simply took a slight step to the side and immediately regained his footing.
But the person on the other side wasn't so lucky; Kira bumped into him, and he dropped what he was carrying.
"Clang! Glug glug..."
Judging from the sound, it's a wooden product! And it's long and narrow!
Of course, the shape wasn't determined by hearing it, but rather by the fact that the item had fallen out of the bag and rolled to Kira's feet.
Kira instinctively looked down and saw a wooden flute with three skulls on it lying on the ground.
Good heavens, this familiar description, this peculiar feeling, could this be Araba... no, could this be the legendary Magic Flute... Lalabai?
This is probably what they mean by "life is full of surprises".
Just a quarter of a second later, Kira casually lay down on the ground, his wide white-gold magic robe covering Ralabai on the ground, briefly obscuring Kageyama's view, and then...
The spell of words is activated, transforming words into shapes, a deceptive substitution!
When Kageyama got up and found that Lalabai had fallen out, he seemed a little flustered. This was an important item, and he would be in trouble if something went wrong with it.
But after looking up at Kira for two seconds, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"I didn't sense any magic. He's just a handsome ordinary person. That makes sense. Our plan is so secretive, how could it possibly be discovered? There's no such thing as a coincidence in this world. I lost my composure."
After a quick self-reassurance, Kageyama calmed down, got up, dusted himself off, took two steps forward to pick up the Ralabai from the ground, and naturally put it back into the bag. Then, Kira, who was still on the ground, asked, "Are you alright?"
To be fair, Kageyama seemed quite polite, especially with that standard fake smile. If Kira hadn't known he was a nasty person, he almost would have believed him!
Sure enough, this two-faced behavior is something I, an honest and straightforward person, can't learn!
Kira grasped the hand Kageyama offered, using it to stand up politely, and replied, "I'm fine, I'm so sorry!"
Kageyama was taken aback when the person in front of him apologized first. In the past, when he encountered such situations, the other party would just start cursing. As a result, he had developed a fake smile.
This guy is handsome and dressed so richly, I thought he would be a spoiled brat, but I didn't expect him to be so polite!
After realizing what had happened, Kageyama smiled and said, "It's nothing, it's nothing..."
After a brief stop, the two parted ways and went their separate ways.
……
The streets were still bustling with people. Kira arrived late, and Erza and the others had just returned.
"So, Kira? Have you gotten any information?"
Kira shook his head silently, his face serious. "I'm sorry, I didn't find out... hiccup... anything about the Iron Forest. What about you guys?"
Erza said, "Although we haven't found out the location of the Iron Forest, we have learned another piece of information: it seems that a group of magicians have gathered in Kunuki."
"Kunookie... I remember that was the stop before Clover, right?"
Clover City is where the presidents of several magic guilds hold their regular meetings.
"There is only one way to get to Clover, and that is by train. If we control the Kunuki station, we can ensure that no one can get to Clover."
Erza gave Kira a meaningful look: "It seems that, just as you said, their goal is indeed the chairmen who hold regular meetings."
The most impulsive Natsu immediately couldn't stand still: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go save the Chairman and the others right now!"
"Don't be impulsive, Natsu!" Killer pressed down on Natsu's restless shoulders. "The guild master isn't someone you need to worry about. Besides, didn't we have Mira inform the guild master before we set off? They should have received the news by now."
"The only thing we need to do now is to deal with the mages of the Iron Forest who are entrenched in Kunu Station."
"Oh! I'm fired up! Happy, let's go!"
"Hey!"
"Natsu! Wait..."
Before the three could grab him, Natsu had already flown away under Happy's claws, and the two of them, human and cat, were heading straight for Quinuki.
"Why does this guy never finish listening to what he's saying?!"
"Isn't this great? With Natsu leading the way, things will be easier for us... Let's take the train."
???
"What are you talking about, Kira? The enemy has Ralaba, Natsu is in too much danger alone, we should..." Erza suddenly stopped talking, her eyes fixed on the wooden flute that Kira had taken out.
"You just said, what are the enemies?"
Chapter 32 I was busy for a full two hours
"Could this be... Lalabai? Why is it in your hands?"
Not only Lucy, but Erza and Gray were also dumbfounded. They went to gather information together, so how did you get there so fast? You got Lalabai already?
No, you just said there wasn't... Oh, you mean Iron Forest? Never mind then.
Kira then spent half an hour explaining to the three how he had spent the past two hours gathering information in Ghost Lotus City, finding Lalabai and Iron Forest based on clues, and finally seizing Lalabai from half of the guild through magic, reasoning, investigation, locking onto targets, and combat.
"No wonder you said all we had to do was deal with Kunuki's mage. So you've already got your hands on Lalabai."
"But why didn't I hear a sound at all?"
"That's because I used magic to block out the surrounding sounds during the battle."
"Now that we've got the stuff, why don't we just go and take care of them? The train is still a long way off!"
"What are you talking about? I've been working on this for two hours straight! What's wrong with digesting... taking a break?"
……
Clover, the meeting venue.
"Markov, your mages are all quite energetic! That's great!"
The president of the Blue Pegasus Guild, Bob, is a bald, short, and fat transvestite with bright red blush on his face, heart-shaped lipstick of the same color on his lips, white wing pendants on his back, a necklace of gold rings and rubies around his thick neck, and a purple halter dress.
"I heard about it. A powerful and influential person in a certain place was beaten to a pulp by them."
Who would have thought that this disgusting old man was actually a handsome man in his youth? Time really is a cruel mistress!
Wearing a cute hat, Makarov was clearly a little drunk: "Oh—! It's that newbie named Lucy, isn't it?! That girl's nice!!! Especially her chest!!!"
That old scoundrel gets drunk as soon as he drinks.
"Hey~ Pervert~"
"It's good that you're energetic, but aren't your mages going a bit too far?" The man next to me, wearing a top hat and sunglasses, was Goldman, the guild master of the Four-Headed Hounds. He said to Makarov with a hint of schadenfreude, "Some council members are also worried that Fairy Tail will destroy the whole city!"
Maklov jumped and laughed, "Hehehe... Yes, yes!!! But even if it's ruined, it'll be with Lucy's breasts, hahaha..."
"Really, you can't attack your own mages..."
Just then, a white dove wearing a wizard's hat flew over, carrying a letter. This was a carrier pigeon raised by Fairy Tail, specifically for delivering messages.
After the carrier pigeon landed on Makarov, it spoke in human language: "Chairman Makarov, a letter from Miss Mirajane to you."
"Ok?"
Why would a letter arrive at this time? With a puzzled expression, Makarov drunkenly opened the letter, only to see a virtual image of Mira with a gentle smile appear on the page: "Chairman, thank you for your hard work at the meeting~"
Makarov proudly boasted to his friends, "What do you think?! This is our star girl!! Isn't she great?!"
