They had initially thought the girl would fiercely resist and refuse to eat their food, forcing them to force-feed her. They had specifically sent several strong young men with them, but to their surprise, despite her hostility, the girl accepted all the food offered to her without hesitation.

Then, they witnessed the arrival of the demon.

The girl unceremoniously devoured all the food the cultist was eating, clearly stating that she was still very hungry. So, to feed this "monster girl," people started bringing out their own takeout. After all, there were over twenty of them; even if this girl could eat a lot, she couldn't possibly eat more than all of them combined, right?

And so, they witnessed the arrival of the demon.

The girl ate all their food without any effort and then said again that she was still a little hungry.

So, in order to feed this girl with an amazing appetite, and also to have something to eat themselves, they ordered two takeout meals.

Then the demon descended once again.

"This child's appetite is outrageous! Are all monsters this big eaters? She's already eaten enough for forty people, and she's still complaining that it's not enough. And after eating so much, why hasn't her size changed at all?!"

"If we let her eat like this, we won't have enough money for our return trip!"

"But what if we don't feed her properly, and the goddess complains that she's listless? Wouldn't that mean we've messed things up?"

The believers were thrown into chaos.

Kuntai, who had never been involved from the beginning, leaned against the wall, closing his eyes to rest. He wasn't a follower of this sect; he was a bodyguard-like figure hired by the organization's higher-ups. Although, as a bodyguard, his skill level was excessively high.

The lockdown will be lifted in four hours. A large city like this can't be locked down for long, so they'll be able to leave soon.

Mr. Li Cheng, in these final moments, will you still be able to find us?

Although it was a thought that shouldn't be in his current position, Kuntai was indeed secretly looking forward to it.

"Damn it, where are these bugs hiding?!"

Tohsaka angrily slammed the documents in her hand onto the table, looking utterly dejected. Emiya, standing beside her, wasn't as agitated, but his brow was furrowed, and his expression was grave.

After going out for a walk, Li Cheng returned. He found a chair and sat down, looking at the information that Kiritsugu Emiya had compiled.

After venting his anger, his emotions had stabilized considerably, but the explosive tension emanating from him was growing stronger. His bloodshot eyes were fixed on the documents in his hands, as if he were staring at cult members.

“It still won’t work,” Emiya put down the documents and stood up decisively. “We don’t have enough clues or time to find them. Now we’ll go out and search every place they might be. This is the only brute-force method we have.”

Clues...

"This is a lot of work, it's exhausting, and there's a good chance the other party will escape."

Tohsaka hesitated.

"There's no other way, we really don't have enough time," Shirou said, putting on his black coat. "Jo, it's time to go!"

Li Cheng remained seated, without moving.

"Cheng?"

"Senior Li Cheng?"

Slowly, Li Cheng raised his head and looked at Kiritsugu Emiya, saying, "You were just talking about clues, right?"

What came to mind?

Kiritsugu Emiya immediately realized what was happening.

"Check the food delivery records. Find out where in the suburbs of the city there are large-scale, continuous food delivery orders!"

Li Cheng suddenly stood up, his bones cracking all over his body.

"They are offering tribute to their goddess, so they will make sure she is in good condition and will not let her go hungry!"

Looking into Emiya's eyes, Li Cheng was extremely excited.

"Given her appetite, if she ate freely, there's absolutely no way she could hide her purchase records! Starting from this point, we're sure to find clues!"

That's right, why didn't I think of that at first? That girl doesn't usually eat much, but once she starts eating freely, it's a bottomless pit. Those cultists probably wouldn't have considered these subtle details, so they could use that to their advantage and search for them thoroughly.

There's no mistake, it must be like this, we can definitely find a breakthrough here.

"Alright, let's not delay. I'll ask the intelligence department to look into it right now."

After a moment's thought, Emiya Kiritsugu understood Li Cheng's meaning and nodded, then took out his phone and immediately started making contact.

The night was not yet over, and under the thick black sky, the dilapidated buildings remained silent. Yet, within that silence, something fiery seemed to be brewing and trembling.

Section 16, Chapter 15: The Clash of Blood and Fire

A two-story detached building that looks unremarkable, dilapidated and full of cracks, just like the other abandoned and forgotten buildings around it, with nothing special about it except desolation.

But inside this house, more than twenty cult members were hiding, busy packing their belongings and preparing to leave.

"They're really vigilant. If we had arrived a few minutes later, they probably would have all escaped without a trace."

Standing atop a neighboring building, Kiritsugu Emiya spoke calmly, then raised his hand and fired a shot, instantly blowing the head off the man standing guard on the roof. Before the body even hit the ground, Tohsaka had already landed on the roof, helping the man to lie down quietly.

“Cheng, I know you’re very emotional right now, but please calm down. Rescuing that child won’t be easy. You also know that with Kuntai around, our advantage isn’t actually that great.”

Holding his headset, Kiritsugu Emiya spoke in a low voice. On the other end of the communication, Li Cheng calmly replied, "Understood," and then fell silent, clearly waiting for Kiritsugu Emiya's next move.

"Tohsaka, is the isolation array ready?" Without hesitation, Emiya quickly connected with Tohsaka, who was already on the roof of the tower.

"No problem, we can start anytime. As long as that guy named Quinte doesn't make a move, these guys have no chance of escaping." Tohsaka's voice was full of confidence in the communication.

“Check it again,” Emiya said mercilessly. “This isn’t the first time you’ve messed up. Pay close attention, the time for the operation later is crucial, we can’t waste it.”

"How can you say that? I clearly... Hmph, I know, fine, let's get checked!"

About two or three minutes later, the communication was reconnected, and Tohsaka's somewhat flustered voice came through.

"Okay, okay, everything's fine, we can begin."

In other words, after checking, did you realize that you messed up again?

Without asking her what went wrong, Emiya reconnected the two and cautiously issued orders:

"According to thermal imaging, there are thirteen people gathered on the first floor. The basement is not clear, but there are at least six people. Quinte and the target should both be inside."

“After Tohsaka activates the array, this house will be sealed off, so there’s no need to worry about them escaping. However, the moment the seal is activated, Kuntai will definitely notice, so we must act immediately upon the seal being activated and strike with lightning speed.”

"Tohsaka, after sealing off the area, immediately blow open the rooftop and airdrop directly to the first floor. You're in charge of dealing with the twelve people on the first floor. You have one minute."

“Li Cheng, I know you care about that girl the most. The stairs to the basement are about four meters to the left of the main door. After sealing them off, ignore the people on the first floor and rush straight into the basement. Don’t give them a chance to escape.”

"I will be responsible for high-altitude sniping and backup support. Call me immediately if there is any unexpected situation."

Kiritsugu Emiya methodically assigned tasks to the two men positioned in different locations. After finishing, he took a deep breath and loaded an armor-piercing magazine into his gun. Then, he clearly stated over the communicator:

"Action, begin!"

A bright red light formed a cube-shaped phantom in mid-air, enveloping the dilapidated detached building.

Kuntai, who had been resting with his eyes closed in the basement, suddenly opened them. Almost simultaneously, the already dilapidated door of the detached building flew off with a loud crash, knocking down two cultists who happened to be standing nearby. A tall, muscular man, filled with almost tangible rage, stormed in through the door.

What should have been a coordinated attack by the intruder was a devastating explosion from above. Instead, a more violent bang came from above, and a graceful red figure suddenly pierced through the ceiling, landing steadily on the floor.

"Sorry everyone, we can't let you disturb him right now!"

As the sound subsided, crimson gemstone dust exploded violently in mid-air, the flames instantly engulfing everyone inside. Screams and cries of pain filled the air. Even Li Cheng, who was rushing towards the basement, was thrown off balance by the scorching blast of air, his hair becoming a tangled mess.

This woman, at this distance and with this power, isn't she afraid of blowing herself up?

The thought had barely crossed Li Cheng's mind when he saw a dirty, dusty-faced Tohsaka emerge from the dust, coughing and saying, "How could I have misjudged the power of the explosion again?" She then swiftly turned and punched a man who had attacked her from behind in the stomach. The heavy, magically imbued punch made the man vomit bile, collapsing to the ground convulsing in agony.

The billowing dust engulfed the already spacious first-floor living room. Only the sounds of fists and feet clashing, bones cracking, and screams of agony could be heard. Occasionally, a red figure would flash through the dust, followed by a cultist's heart-wrenching cry of pain.

Li Cheng quickened his pace, running rapidly to the stairs leading to the basement. Two or three cult members tried to stop him, but Li Cheng knocked them over and sent them flying without even looking at them. In just a few breaths, he reached the top of the stairs.

But it was at this point that he could no longer go down.

A man with a small braid, shirtless, revealing a muscular physique covered in strange tattoos, was calmly walking upstairs. The swirling dust obscured their vision, but Li Cheng could clearly feel the man's gaze fixed on him like iron nails.

Li Cheng lightly pressed the communicator in his ear and spoke with a serious expression:

"Emiya, it's him, he's out."

This is an extremely formidable opponent; he must fight with all his might and proceed with extreme caution. Li Cheng had not forgotten the crushing defeat he suffered just hours earlier. He slightly stretched his body, concealed his aura, and slowly descended step by step.

"I'm truly pleasantly surprised, Mr. Li Cheng. I hope that this time I can witness your true level of skill."

With a gentle smile, the man's figure moved like a blur, kicking straight at Li Cheng's brow.

Raising his hand to block the incoming attack, the immense force shattered the wooden staircase beneath Li Cheng's feet. With a series of cracking sounds, Li Cheng plummeted into the basement. Almost simultaneously, two smoky spheres were thrown from the upper floor, exploding and engulfing the entire basement in smoke.

Li Cheng rolled on the spot, got up, and stopped, slipping into a room on the side based on the impression he had gleaned from the stairs. She wasn't inside, but several rather strong men were waiting for him with knives and clubs. A swift attack, snapping, pinching, twisting. He kicked one of the burly men who tried to entangle him, sending him flying through the not-so-thick brick wall.

Footsteps approached rapidly through the dust, followed by a fierce gust of wind. Instead of retreating, Li Cheng advanced, leaning back, sliding, and flipping, directly catching the leg sweeping towards him. With all his might, following the direction of the opponent's attack, Li Cheng roared and flung Kuntai away, sending him crashing into the wall with a loud thud, creating a large hole.

"You brat!"

Li Cheng shouted loudly, his voice echoing through the empty basement. He listened carefully, attentively, with complete focus. He filtered out the cries of those he had defeated, the sounds of the fierce fighting upstairs, and even the sound of Kuntai spitting out blood and then standing up with a smile. He compressed almost all his energy to its limit in that moment, concentrating entirely on listening.

Then he heard it, a weak, faint, almost imperceptible voice, yet it was a voice he could never forget, a voice he could never mistake.

He heard it; he heard a voice coming from afar in the darkness.

He heard:

“Cheng…”

Ah, I found you! Haha, finally, I found you! You really were here! I finally... found you!

Li Cheng rolled forward abruptly, dodging Kun Tai's flying kick. With another somersault, Kun Tai's descending foot shattered the ground beside Li Cheng. Barely managing to raise his hand to block the follow-up knee strike, the immense impact sent Li Cheng's body crashing into the ceiling, where he became embedded.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Li Cheng, although I'm really happy to see you get back into form, I have to go now!"

Kuntai's figure disappeared into the thick fog, but the hurried footsteps clearly led to the direction from which the voice had come.

"Don't! Try! To! Leave!

A heavy punch slammed into the ceiling beside him, sending the shattered first-floor floorboards crashing back into the basement. Li Cheng roared, each kick sending tremors through the ground and creating shallow craters. Like a raging bull, he charged forward, catching up to Kuntai in a few strides. He grabbed him around the waist and slammed him into the wall at the end of the road. The impact left the entire wall riddled with cracks.
