"What wind blew you, Great Sage Equal to Heaven, here? Weren't you following Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West to retrieve the scriptures? Why aren't you protecting your master and instead coming here to me?"
"You still have the nerve to ask me? If that beast you raised hadn't kidnapped my master, would I be here?" Sun Wukong said without any politeness.
"Go and see when that beast came to the mortal realm and caused me trouble!" Fairy Zixia ordered the boy beside her.
"Sister, that beast has indeed come to the mortal realm and even captured the Great Sage's master. He's at the foot of Mount Ling now..." the boy replied.
"Great Sage, it's my fault. I'll go down to the mortal realm with you now and bring that beast back. I'm so sorry to have troubled you."
"Then hurry up and leave!" Sun Wukong said impatiently.
Finally, Fairy Zixia descended to the mortal realm with Sun Wukong and brought the rhinoceros demon back to Heaven.
At this moment, Sun Wukong remembered that Lin Yaoxie seemed to be missing. He was about to go look for him with Tang Sanzang when they saw the local earth god leading Lin Yaoxie, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing toward them.
"Amitabha, thank you for saving this humble monk," Tang Sanzang said. Lin Yaoxie scratched his head sheepishly, "No need to thank me, no need to thank me."
"Since this benefactor has such a connection with you, Great Sage, why not let him accompany you on your journey? It would be a favor to this old man like me, and you could have someone to look after you along the way," the Earth God said to Sun Wukong.
Even though Sun Wukong was extremely unwilling, he reluctantly took Lin Yaoxie with him because he knew that Lin Yaoxie could predict the future.
And so, Lin Yaoxie set off westward with the four travelers, beginning his Journey to the West.
Chapter Four: Enlightenment
After the four masters and disciples and Lin Yaoxie obtained the seal of the United States, they continued their journey westward. The United States returned to its former peace, and the incense of the local earth god became even more popular than before.
The four, or rather five, of the master and his disciples arrived at a forest.
"Wukong, I'm a little tired. Let's take a rest. I'm also a little hungry. Bajie, go and beg for some vegetarian food," Tang Sanzang said.
"Master, you should have said you were hungry earlier. You didn't need to ask your second senior brother to beg for vegetarian food for you. I can do it myself. I'll make it for you." Lin Yaoxie said smugly and then walked into the depths of the forest.
He returned quickly, carrying several pieces of wood, some wild vegetables, and sweet potatoes. Sun Wukong and the others were astonished; they had never handled such things before. It seemed that this Lin Yaoxie was quite capable, and their disciple was well-received.
"Disciple, where did you get all this from?" Tang Sanzang asked.
"Master, I just dug these up from the ground. The wild vegetables were picked around the trees; they're edible. Don't worry, I didn't steal them."
While talking, Lin Yaoxie was also busy with his hands. He somehow managed to make a fire with two pieces of wood. He put the sweet potato on a tree branch and put the wild vegetables into Huayuan's bowl. Soon, a fragrant aroma came out, and Zhu Bajie ran over from a distance, attracted by the smell.
"Wow, what smells so good? Junior Brother Xie, you're amazing! This is the best vegetarian meal I've ever eaten."
“Master, let me tell you, when we pass through the villages, let’s see if there’s a market. We can beg for some rice or dry food there, so that we won’t have to ask our second brother for vegetarian meals anymore.”
After hearing Lin Yaoxie's words, Tang Sanzang couldn't help but look at this disciple with new respect, and he liked this disciple even more from the bottom of his heart.
However, Tang Sanzang thought to himself, "Lin Yaoxie, this name doesn't seem very good. It feels like the name of a monster and doesn't suit his identity." So he used the names of his other disciples to give him a new name—Wude.
After eating, the five travelers rested for a while before continuing their journey.
Soon after, they indeed arrived at a village, which happened to have a market. So they asked the stall owner for some rice and found an inn to rest for the night before continuing their journey.
Wu De wanted to know where they had arrived, so he asked a villager. The villager told him that this place was Wuming Village. In the past, there were many people here, and they lived happily. However, since a high monk came, the village has become unsettled.
According to the villagers, Wude learned that the high monk had kidnapped many of the people's children, which made everyone unwilling to come out.
It seems this is another ordeal for Master. I need to hurry back and tell Master 427 and my fellow disciples.
Upon hearing this, the four travelers wanted to leave this dangerous place as soon as possible, but then they thought of the kidnapped babies and couldn't bear to leave them behind. So Sun Wukong told Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing to watch over their master while he and Wu De went to rescue the children.
When they found the high monk's temple, it seemed normal on the surface, with many people coming and going and burning incense. But upon closer inspection, they discovered that the more normal a place looked, the more abnormal it actually was.
The monks here are all sweeping the floor with brooms, but if you look closely, you'll notice that they seem to be paying attention to something, as if they're waiting for something.
Chapter Five: Rescuing the Children's City
"Now is not a good time to rescue them. Let's go back and discuss this further. Those children must be hidden here," Wu De said seriously to Sun Wukong.
Upon returning, they inquired further with the people about the matter. It turned out that the people had not told the whole story that day. It turned out that the high monk had kidnapped the child so that the king could eat the child's heart and thus achieve immortality.
So Sun Wukong transformed Wude into a child and let him sneak into the palace. Tang Sanzang and the other three disciples also followed him into the palace.
After entering the palace, they found the king to be a rather kind person, and couldn't help but wonder, "Why would such a kind person have such thoughts?"
After paying their respects to the king, the master and his disciples returned to the inn, leaving Wude, who had been transformed into a child, there.
But in the middle of the night, Pigsy discovered that his master had been kidnapped, so he anxiously woke up his senior brothers.
It turns out that the high monk knew his attempt to steal the child had been discovered. So he set his sights on Tang Sanzang, thinking that since he could achieve immortality, why not just eat one person?
"Now look what's happened! Not only did we fail to save the child, but Master got caught too. It's all your fault for meddling. We could have just left with the seal, why did you have to play the hero?!" Pigsy complained.
"Fool, let me tell you, even if we don't save those children, they will still kidnap Master. Let's think about how to save Master and the children!" Sun Wukong said angrily.
When Tang Sanzang was brought in, Wu De recognized him, but he was in the form of a child, which his master did not know. He had to find a way to inform his senior brothers.
He then burst into tears, which attracted the attention of the guards. The soldiers, finding him too annoying, threw him into a room that happened to be next to Tang Sanzang's.
"Master, it's me, Wude. Don't be afraid, our eldest brother will definitely come to save us." Sure enough, Sun Wukong arrived.
"You heartless king! You killed innocent people for the sake of immortality and even kidnapped my master. I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!" Sun Wukong said as he swung his golden cudgel at the king.
Sun Wukong then realized that the high monk was actually the king in disguise, and that the king was probably an imposter as well.
After fighting the demonic monk for three hundred rounds, Sun Wukong finally killed him. It turned out the monk's true form was a lizard. At this moment, Wude also helped Tang Sanzang out.
"Eldest brother, Master is alright now. Let's hurry to the temple and rescue those children and return them to the people. They must be very anxious."
On their journey, they not only rescued the child but also discovered the real king. The king was very grateful to them for saving him and his people. He not only prepared a sumptuous vegetarian meal for them but also provided them with many supplies for their journey. After the meal, the group thanked the king and left the area with the provisions he had prepared for them.
They continued on their way and found themselves shrouded in mist, like a fairyland. When they got closer, they discovered that what was enveloped in the mist was a verdant mountain.
"This is not normal, this is very abnormal! Everyone be careful, there's a monster here." Before Wu De could finish speaking, a tornado suddenly appeared from afar.
"Quick, protect Master!" But it was too late. After the tornado, the smoke disappeared, and Tang Sanzang was gone too.
Chapter Six: The Holy Infant King
"Master was just rescued and then he was captured again. Why is Master's life so tragic!" Pigsy said, tears streaming down his face.
Suddenly they saw Tang Sanzang reappear, carrying a child on his back.
"Wukong, we don't know whose child this is. He's lost and looks so pitiful. Can you see if you can find his family so we can take him home?"
"Master, don't be soft-hearted. I think the child is very clever. We mustn't be fooled. What if it's another monster that will capture you again!"
"This child is so young and can't find his parents, how could he have so many bad intentions? Are you going to carry him or not?" Tang Sanzang said angrily.
"I'll carry him, I'll carry him, I'll carry him, okay?" With that, Sun Wukong picked up the child and secretly thought about how to deal with this monster.
Fearing that Sun Wukong would hurt him, the demon used a transformation technique to create a fake version of himself, and had Sun Wukong carry the fake version while he jumped into the air.
Upon seeing this, Sun Wukong immediately realized that this must be another one who wanted to eat Tang Sanzang's flesh. He became very angry, grabbed the fake child, and threw it at a stone by the roadside.
"How could you do this? If you didn't want to carry this child, just say so. Why kill innocent people indiscriminately?" Tang Sanzang rebuked.
"Master, you don't know that was a monster, it wasn't the child you were talking about at all!" With that, the monster used a spell to turn into a whirlwind, and sand and stones flew everywhere, making it impossible for people to open their eyes. The monster took the opportunity to capture Tang Sanzang and take him back to his lair—the Fire Cloud Cave.
At this moment, Sun Wukong remembered Wu De, who had followed them all the way.
"Do you know where this monster came from?"
"This is Red Boy, whose real name is Holy Infant King. He is the son of the Bull Demon King. His Samadhi Fire is his ultimate move. We must be careful," Wu De said to Sun Wukong.
"Whatever kind of fire it is, I, Old Sun, have seen it all. Let's go and have a go at him. I refuse to believe I can't handle this brat!" Sun Wukong said, and went to the Fire Cloud Cave with Wude and Zhu Bajie, leaving Sha Wujing to guard the luggage.
"Monster, come out quickly and return my master!" After Sun Wukong finished speaking, five children came out of the cave, each pushing a cart. They were arranged in the order of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, and after chanting a few spells, flames suddenly rose from the five carts.
Seeing that things were not going well, the cowardly Pigsy abandoned Sun Wukong and hurriedly ran to the other side of the river to extinguish the fire on his body. At this time, only Wude and Sun Wukong were left to fight against the monster.
"This can't go on like this, Senior Brother! Go find some reinforcements to put out the fire, then we'll rush in to save Master!" Wu De shouted to Sun Wukong. So they went back to where they were and found Sha Wujing and Zhu Bajie to discuss their next move.
"I'll take Wude to the East Sea to find the Dragon King and ask him to send down some rain to put out the fire. You two stay here and watch the luggage." With that, he led Wude to the East Sea Dragon Palace.
Sun Wukong gathered all the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas and led them to the top of the Fire Cloud Cave. Wukong shouted and cursed at the cave entrance, which lured out Red Boy. The two then fought, and after twelve rounds, they were evenly matched.
Red Boy panicked and started a fire again. At this moment, the Dragon Kings began to send rain, but the fire seemed to burn even more fiercely and burned Wukong as well.
Chapter Seven: A Narrow Escape
After being burned, Wukong immediately plunged into the river, but he was so enraged that he couldn't catch his breath and fainted. No matter how much they called him, they couldn't wake him up.
At this moment, Wude suddenly remembered that he had learned some massage techniques and knew some people's acupoints. Perhaps pressing them could wake him up. He thought to himself and did just that. He rubbed this and that, and it took him a while to wake up Wukong.
When Wukong woke up, he was weak and unable to move, so he had to rest against a tree. However, Tang Sanzang could not be left without someone to help him, so they entrusted this important task to Wude.
They told Wude to go find Guanyin Bodhisattva because Wude had told them that they were ultimately rescued by Guanyin Bodhisattva.
So Sun Wukong taught Wude some of his magic skills so that he could deal with some minor problems. After giving the instructions, Lin Yaoxie went to find Guanyin Bodhisattva.
As luck would have it, Red Boy overheard their conversation, and so he transformed into Guanyin Bodhisattva to block Lin Yaoxie's path.
Lin Yaoxie had just arrived here, and since he didn't have Sun Wukong's fiery eyes, he was tricked by Red Boy and followed the fake Guanyin Bodhisattva to the front of the Fire Cloud Cave to catch the monster.
To their surprise, they were captured and tied up by the little demons as soon as they arrived at the cave entrance and taken inside.
"You stupid monk, you think you can kill me? Hahahaha~ ha..."
Lin Yaoxie knew he had been tricked by Red Boy, but there was nothing he could do but wait for Sun Wukong to realize the trick and come to their rescue.
Sun Wukong and Sha Wujing waited for a long time but Lin Yaoxie did not return. They realized that things were not so simple and that Lin Yaoxie might have been captured by Red Boy.
Since Wukong was injured and weak, he had to resort to strategy. So, Sun Wukong quietly approached the entrance to the Fire Cloud Cave and carefully observed the situation inside.
He heard that Red Boy was about to start cooking his master and was going to invite his father, the Bull Demon King, to join him in eating Tang Sanzang's flesh.
Sun Wukong remembered that the Bull Demon King was his sworn brother from Flower Fruit Mountain, and he still remembered what the Bull Demon King looked like. So he transformed into the Bull Demon King and got on Red Boy's carriage halfway.
And so Sun Wukong followed Red Boy's soldiers into the cave and saw his master.
After the Bull Demon King came in, he tried to persuade Red Boy to wait a few days before eating Tang Sanzang's flesh, or even not to eat it at all, saying that there would be retribution if he did.

Red Boy grew suspicious. His father was behaving strangely today; normally, his father would be very happy. He immediately realized that this might not be his real father, but rather Sun Wukong in disguise.
So he struck the fake Bull Demon King with his staff, and sure enough, the fake Bull Demon King immediately transformed into Sun Wukong. Sun Wukong then turned into a golden ray of light and flew out of the cave, immediately heading to the South Sea to find Guanyin Bodhisattva.
After listening to Sun Wukong's account, Guanyin Bodhisattva decided to go with him to subdue Red Boy.
With his helper, Sun Wukong became more confident and shouted from the cave entrance, "Monster, why don't you come out and pay your respects to your Grandpa Sun?"
"It seems you still think the fire isn't burning bright enough." With that, Red Boy ordered his men to continue setting the fire.
This time, the fire not only failed to ignite but also went out. When Red Boy saw Guanyin Bodhisattva, he immediately stopped being arrogant. At first, he resisted a little, but later, knowing that he couldn't win, he obediently surrendered.
Red Boy was eventually subdued by Guanyin Bodhisattva and became her attendant. Sun Wukong and his companions rescued Tang Sanzang and the demon Lin, burned down the Fire Cloud Cave, and continued westward to Guang.
