"Oh? What method?"
Hayama looked at Yukiteru. His original intention was not to find the culprit; of course, it would be best if there was a solution.
Yukino Yukinoshita seemed to have thought of it too: "You mean, not to team up with any of the three of them?"
Xuehui nodded: "It seems we think quite similarly. Don't all three of them want to team up with Yeshan? Then let's just not team up with them, and let the three of them team up. I'm not saying this to Yeshan, but although your group looks pretty good, and you seem like a very popular person, you don't understand the interpersonal relationships in your group at all."
Ye Shan was a little taken aback. He looked at Xue Hui, thinking that his friends seemed to have a good relationship with him.
"I really didn't see that coming. I don't know how you've managed to keep this group going all this time." Xuehui shook his head. "I don't know if you've noticed, but in your group, Miura and those three boys hardly ever talk, and those three boys always put you first. When you're not around, those three boys barely interact with each other. How should I put it... um... a friend's friend isn't necessarily my friend?"
"Is...is that how it is?" Ye Shan lowered his head and frowned, clearly not expecting these things to happen.
Unfortunately, he was only focused on getting along well with the people around him, indirectly neglecting the development of their relationships.
"But on another note, you're really something, managing to make these people act so friendly in front of you. What a sinful man..." Yuki looked at Hayama Hayato with a wicked grin.
"I feel like there's something ambiguous about what you said..."
Ye Shan shook his head, stood up, and looked at the two of them, saying, "Anyway, I'll try this method first. If it really is due to the internship, then it should be resolved. Thank you both, I'll be going now."
Nodding his thanks, Ye Shan turned and walked out of the classroom.
Only the two of them remained in the classroom. Xuehui stretched his arms and said, "Now we just have to wait for the results, right?"
"But we still haven't found the culprit." Yukino Yukinoshita seemed still somewhat fixated on the matter of finding the culprit. And indeed, even Yukiteru himself was somewhat concerned.
“There can’t always be a perfect ending in this world. With the information we have right now, we simply can’t find the culprit.” Xuehui shrugged.
Just then, the phone rang. Yukiteru picked it up, glanced at the text message, and said to Yukinoshita, "The matter has been resolved over there. They've already left. Tomorrow at noon, Hachiman and Yuihama will come to the club to report on the situation."
"That was pretty fast." Yukinoshita nodded. "In that case, let's go back."
The two embarked on their journey home together once again, noticing that they were seeing more and more people traveling together like this lately.
The two lived very close to each other. Yukiteru could see Yukinoshita's front door from his balcony, and Yukinoshita could see Yukiteru's balcony from her own door.
Living so close together also leads to a situation where the two of them always go to the same supermarket. In addition, since this is a residential area, the housewives buying groceries in the supermarket always look at the two of them with a strange expression.
I've said things like "It's so good to be young" countless times.
All the two could do was quickly select their ingredients and then go to pay the bill.
The fighting power of a middle-aged woman is not something these two young men can handle.
"Although it's nice to chat with someone while traveling together, this kind of situation is always unavoidable."
As they walked out of the supermarket, Yukihiro spoke to Yukino, who was standing beside him with her head down and a somewhat unnatural expression.
"Just ignore it. Gossip is something that's deeply ingrained in people's minds," Yukino Yukinoshita said.
"Hey, Yukinoshita." Standing next to the apartment building, Yukiteru called out to Yukinoshita Yukino, "What is the Service Club... or rather, what are the members of the Service Club to you?"
"..." Unexpectedly, Yukinoshita was at a loss for words when Yukiteru asked that question. After pausing for several seconds, she replied, "I don't know how to explain it. I used to be alone, and suddenly three people joined the club. To be honest, I wasn't used to it at first. But now... maybe this feeling is not bad."
Rarely, Xue Shine gave a direct and unvarnished answer to this question.
Nodding, Xuehui considered for a moment and then said, "To be honest, I didn't want to join this club originally. I'm a bit of averse to trouble. But now, I consider myself a member of the club. So, for the sake of the club's future, I made a decision on my own today. If you blame me later, I have nothing to say. I'm going back now. See you tomorrow."
Watching Yukiteru disappear from sight, Yukinoshita stood there, her expression gradually shifting from calm to astonishment.
"Could it be... that..."
Then, she took a step.
During my free time, I dug out some dirty jokes and watched them again, still unable to stop.
The only regret is that some of the jokes that took me a while to understand back then are now instantly clear...
It seems that purity is a thing of the past.
Chapter 47 First Visit
He went upstairs, took out his keys to open the door, and stopped when he heard hurried footsteps behind him.
"Hmm? Yukinoshita?"
Standing beside her was Yukino Yukinoshita, who was panting from running.
"You...how did you get here?"
"Ha...ha...what exactly did you mean by what you just said...?" After catching her breath, Yukinoshita questioned her with a serious expression.
"Didn't you already guess? Otherwise, you wouldn't have come in such a hurry. It happened on the first day of school a year ago." Looking at the other person calmly, Xuehui shook his head and turned to open the door.
"Don't stand outside, come in first. It's not good if someone sees us."
After saying that, without waiting for the other party's reply, he opened the door and went inside.
Seeing Yukiteru's actions, Yukino Yukinoshita didn't know whether to stand or leave, so she had no choice but to follow him inside.
"Sorry to bother you."
Although I was still a little angry, I still did my best to be polite.
After changing into a pair of slippers that Yukiteru had brought out, Yukinoshita placed the things she was carrying next to the coat rack in the entryway and followed Yukiteru into the living room.
This was his first time visiting a boy's home, and he was alone at the home of a boy who lived alone. He felt a mix of shyness and curiosity.
After leading the girl to sit down in the living room, Xuehui went to the kitchen: "What would you like to drink?"
"No need to trouble yourself. Um, I..."
"I don't have anything else, but juice will do." Before she could finish speaking, Xuehui came out with a bottle of juice and placed it in front of her.
"Although it's starting to get a bit warm now, it's still better to drink room temperature drinks before meals."
“…Thank you, um? Before dinner?” Yukinoshita suddenly looked up at the other person.
"I'm quite hungry right now, and I don't want to talk about anything." With that, Xuehui walked back towards the kitchen. "You don't have any dietary restrictions, do you?"
"This...do I...have to do this?" Yukino sighed softly, sounding rather helpless.
“What’s wrong with that? You’ll be cooking alone anyway when you go back home. Why not try having a meal together at a friend’s house?” Xuehui said as she walked into the kitchen. The kitchen was open-plan, so there was no problem communicating.
"Friend...?" Yukinoshita looked at Yukiteru preparing ingredients in the kitchen and repeated a few words.
"Isn't that right? Or does the aloof Yukinoshita think I'm not qualified?"
Xuehui said this as she turned on the rice cooker and began processing the ribs.
More than a month after they met, Yukiteru brought up this topic with Yukinoshita for the first time.
"No...that's not what I meant. I...I've never had any friends. I can give you a whole list of explanations for what constitutes a friend, but I still don't know what a friend is." Yukinoshita said, holding a juice in her hand and looking down.
"Then let me ask you this. Do you hate me? Do you hate Yuigahama? Do you hate Hachiman?"
"...I don't dislike them. Although Yuihama is clingy, Hiratsuka is troublesome, and Hachiman is awkward and insecure, I don't dislike being with you guys."
"Troublesome? What kind of explanation is that?" Xuehui shook his head, not caring about the other person's evaluation. "Since you don't dislike me, we're in the same club, we can communicate normally, and we can complete tasks together. Doesn't that count as friendship? Perhaps there are many people in this world who approach you with all sorts of ulterior motives, but there are also some who simply want to be your friend. Try to accept those good intentions; it can make you happier. Well, that's just my own opinion."
“Friends…? That’s not bad either.” Recalling Yukiteru’s words and the time she spent serving in the department, Yukinoshita’s lips curled up slightly.
"But this shouldn't be confused with what you told me before. We still need to make things clear!"
"I never intended to avoid the topic. We just wanted to chat. Otherwise, it would be boring for you to just sit here and cook."
Xuehui shook his head, expertly tending the pot, and began to think about what other dishes to cook.
Seeing Yukiteru busy at work, Yukinoshita couldn't sit still any longer: "Um... do you need my help?"
“Who asks a guest to help with the cooking? Besides, I was the one who forced you to stay here, so I definitely can’t let you do the cooking.”
"You do have some self-awareness, but I won't forgive you if your skills aren't up to par." Yukinoshita snorted coldly, gradually relaxing and starting to look around.
"Hmm, the house is quite clean," commented Yukinoshita, who has a slight case of mysophobia.
"The food will take a little while to prepare. If you're bored, you can watch TV. There are also a few books on the coffee table that you can read, but I don't think you'll be interested."
She picked up two tomatoes, washed them, cut them into pieces, and turned to Yukinoshita, saying, "Also, if you're really curious, you can wander around."
"I'm not curious..." Yukinoshita said with a rare display of pride, picking up several books from the coffee table.
"The Book of One Hundred Things" and "Tales of Monsters" are both thread-bound books that tell stories of monsters in Japanese folklore. Although she had never read them, she had heard of them.
The third book surprised her somewhat.
"The Classic of Mountains and Seas?"
She put down the first two books and turned the pages of this one, which clearly showed signs of being read, with only Chinese characters in its pages. Although the girl had a good foundation in literature, she still found it quite difficult to read books written entirely in Chinese.
I closed the book and looked at it, and found that half of the contents had already been read, while the other two books looked like they had been read in their entirety.
"Are you interested in stories about yokai or the like?" Yukino Yukinoshita asked Yukiteru after putting the book down.
"I've always been quite interested in it. After reading several of the more complete and interesting Chinese books, I taught myself Chinese before I dared to pick up this 'Classic of Mountains and Seas,' though I'm reading it rather slowly." Xuehui answered without turning his head, his eyes fixed on the pot. Of course, it was all nonsense; he already knew Chinese, and now he was definitely a talent fluent in three languages!
Listening to Yukiteru's explanation, Yukino Yukinoshita realized that she had learned some previously unknown aspects of Yukiteru. She turned on the TV and started watching an entertainment program while drinking juice.
After about an hour, dinner was finally ready.
Yukinoshita was called to the dining table by Yukiteru. Her initial mixed feelings about being a guest at the boy's house turned into surprise when she saw the delicious-looking food in front of her.
She never expected that Xuehui would cook Chinese food. Sweet and sour pork ribs, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, dry-fried cabbage, and ham and tofu soup—they were far from ordinary.
Moreover, Xuehui was worried that the other person wouldn't be used to it, so he specially packed the two portions separately.
"I'm quite confident about these dishes, please try them. This is the first time I've hosted anyone since moving back here."
Sitting down face to face with Yukiteru, Yukino Yukinoshita felt that she had encountered too many things today, and it was a good opportunity to take a break.
"I'm starting to eat."

PS2: I foolishly looked up and read the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and my eyes went numb after reading the first few lines...
Chapter 48 Post-Dinner Discussion
As a transmigrator with the soul of the Great Celestial Empire, Xuehui still prefers Chinese food. As for Japanese food, well, it's not that it's not delicious, it's just that he prefers the former over the latter.
For example, Xuehui doesn't like the taste of things like miso soup.
So, after arriving in this world, Yukiteru began to diligently practice his ordinary cooking skills, after all, besides satisfying his own taste buds, there was also Hiratsuka Shizuka to feed him (just kidding).
