Chapter Three: Whisky Hill

As a renowned bounty hunter organization, Baroque Works has established numerous outposts scattered throughout the ancient kingdom of Alabasta, with Whiskey Hill being one of its most important locations.

Baroque Works has four top agents stationed in Whiskey Hill. As soon as the town bells ring, the four of them gather together to discuss how to deal with the pirates.

Whiskey Hill, nominally a mountain, is actually a small island. The bounty hunters on the island all belong to Baroque Works. However, unlike the henchmen, the four of them are considered high-level agents, each with their own exclusive codenames within the workshop.

Riding her pet duck, she sped in like the wind. On the surface, she was a bounty hunter, but in reality, she was the princess of Alabasta, and at her core, she was a time traveler. Nefertari Vivi's code name in the studio was MS. Wednesday.

The middle-aged man, who was two meters tall and had strange curly hair, nodded slightly when he saw her arrive. This was Icarum, the captain of the Kingdom Guard of Alabasta.

The middle-aged man and Vivi teamed up to make a name for themselves among the bounty hunters. After gaining recognition, they were recruited by Baroque Works, so the studio's higher-ups deliberately separated the two.

Ikaram's current codename is Mr. 8, and his partner is a dark-skinned, muscular woman whose codename is Ms. Monday. Unlike Chang Wei, this woman is a true natural-born superhuman.

Vivi's partner is a young man codenamed Mr. 9. He is dressed in a bright green suit with a thick red scarf around his neck, and he looks arrogant, as if he wants everyone to see the crown on his head.

The crown is definitely fake. This guy has just watched too many prince and princess stories and somehow came to the bizarre conclusion that he is also a prince. His actual combat ability is terrible. His only advantage is that he is very brave when he gets excited. Of course, to put it bluntly, his behavior is particularly reckless!

Baroque Works has mastered the essence of "a good team makes work easier," with Mr. 8 Icarus partnering with the naturally strong Ms. Monday, and the hot-blooded Mr. 9 partnering with the charismatic Ms. Wednesday. These four are the four top agents in charge of Whiskey Hill.

Two of the four are spies, one is an easily angered goofball, and the other is a simple-minded but physically strong woman. This is the current state of Whiskey Hill...

Princess Vivi's predecessor needed to find Baroque Works' plan to overthrow Alabasta and the mastermind behind it. This problem was no big deal for a time traveler. She could uncover the truth, go back to a life of luxury, and then, two years later, when her adoptive father fell seriously ill, she could act as a dutiful daughter for a few days before ascending to the throne.

However, considering the actual situation, she cannot do that yet.

She retained memories of the language, lifestyle, and some daily actions, but she wasn't the real person. She had only been undercover at the Baroque Studio for a little over a month, and if she returned now, several intelligent people would notice something amiss. Another reason was that the palace provided too much protection and comfort, leaving no room for her special abilities to be utilized. Considering all these factors, she decided to continue her promising undercover work.

It's hard to say for sure, but she'll have to work here for at least a year before going back. Even if something is discovered to be amiss then, she can use her undercover experience as an excuse.

Her predecessor needed to keep a low profile and dance on the edge of a knife, which was the right choice. She dared not be too reckless, but she also did not need to be too cautious. At the beginning of her transmigration, she gained leadership of the entire Whisky Hill without spending much effort.

As soon as Weiwei arrived, she didn't stand on ceremony and immediately assigned tasks to the group.

“Mr. 8, you should continue your job as a greeter. Smile more and let those pirates see our goodwill.”

The middle-aged man with curly hair nodded vigorously. This was an old confidant who had come undercover with him. His abilities were questionable, but his loyalty was not a concern. He obeyed Weiwei's orders unconditionally.

"Ms. Monday, you and I will lead the sales team. I'll be responsible for getting them to pay, and you'll be responsible for beating them up."

Ms. Monday resembled those female bodybuilding champions from Vivi's past life, with muscles so developed they were almost unwomanly, but her voice was soft and gentle, without any hint of hostility.

That's when she took on the job of a bodyguard.

"The rest..." Vivi pointed to her partner, Mr. 9, who kept claiming to be a prince: "You're more funny... no, I mean more dignified, so you'll be in charge of... in charge of the atmosphere team. Didn't you say you hired a few jugglers? Call them all up and create some atmosphere."

The similar setup had been rehearsed before, and all three had no problems. They then left to prepare to "welcome" the pirates who had come from afar.

Mr. 8 Icarus lagged behind. He had a long face and looked at Vivi with concern. After Mr. 8 and Ms. Monday walked away, he looked like he wanted to say something but hesitated.

The girl waved her hand casually, indicating that she should speak if she had something to say.

Icarum coughed: "Your Highness... cough cough, Mama—ma—"

The girl quickly interrupted his unique opening remarks, which sounded like he was practicing his voice. She didn't know if the uncle had a problem with his voice or if he was just naturally short of breath, but he would "break down" after saying three sentences. She had heard it more than a dozen times in the past few days.

"Stop, stop! Mr. 8, we're in the enemy's lair. If you mention 'Your Highness,' we'll be exposed. Don't call me by my name. Call me by my code name, Ms. Wednesday. We're not that close in public!" Vivi earnestly instructed the old minister.

What could she say? A princess, the sole heir to the kingdom, plus a distinctive and strikingly handsome captain of the royal guard who constantly utters "Mama," in this world of photographs, two celebrities without any makeup or identity verification, venturing into enemy territory to gather evidence—was there any intelligence in this operation? This kind of infiltration was simply child's play! But in order not to expose her own cover-up, Vivi had to continue this farcical infiltration.

I'll lie low for as long as I can. If things really get out of hand, then I'll deal with it when the time comes.

The middle-aged man cautiously covered his mouth, as if he had revealed some crucial information.

He lowered his voice considerably: "Ms. Wednesday, have you found any clues related to Mr. 0?"

Clues? I know exactly who he is, why would I need to look for clues? But it's pointless to talk about this now.

The young girl, Vivi, had to put on a thoughtful expression and ponder for a while before answering, "No, not a single clue. Mr. 9 definitely doesn't know."

The old minister nodded with a troubled look: "I asked around, and Ms. Monday didn't know who Mr. 0 was either. This person is too mysterious; no one knows his true identity."

You're not going to just ask Ms. Monday so bluntly, are you? Vivi was exasperated, filled with worry about the old minister's intelligence capabilities.

Chapter Four: Welcome to the Grand Line

Who is Mr. 0? Just ask any time traveler and they'll know: Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.

Would such a formidable enemy inspire fear? To say she wasn't would be a lie. The difference in strength was immense, and Vivi was indeed terrified. However, the thought of her photo being held and scrutinized by Im, the ultimate boss of the One Piece world, dispelled her fear of Crocodile. What was there to be afraid of? This ultimate boss hadn't even made a move yet! Who could be worse off than me being targeted by someone like that?

Her own combat ability was utterly pathetic. Although she was a princess, she had been too frugal in the past and was still young. Her total wealth was less than 500,000 Berries. You should know that a newspaper in the pirate world costs 100 Berries. 500,000 sounds like a lot, but it was actually about the same as Japanese Yen in her previous life, with extremely low purchasing power.

And what about the other side? Im, as the ultimate leader of the World Government, rules over 170 member states. The mighty Navy in the One Piece world is just one of the World Government's forces.

The Five Elders, who seem so powerful, are nothing more than servants to Im, with no status whatsoever.

How can I fight it myself? With my head?

He himself had neither money nor manpower, while the other party was powerful and had more money and manpower than he could count.

If you knew the other party's weakness, it would be easier to handle, but unfortunately, Oda hasn't explained the relationship between Princess Vivi and Im yet, and the unfortunate transmigrator has already arrived.

She had absolutely no idea what her relationship with Im was. Were they mortal enemies? Ancestors? Surely they weren't mother and daughter?

Weiwei pulled her wandering thoughts back to reality and comforted the old minister, saying, "Don't worry, at least two years, at most three years, the mastermind's conspiracy will definitely be exposed."

She calculated the current time based on her age; it was now the year 1517 of the Sea Calendar. A major event occurred last year: Shanks became one of the Four Emperors. Around the same time, a woman codenamed MS. All Sunday became Mr. 0's partner, managing the daily operations of Baroque Works.

This year, barring any unforeseen circumstances, should be the year Ace sets sail, while Luffy's departure is still two to three years away.

This is why Vivi believes that Baroque Works can be dealt with in at least two years and at most three years. Even if she can't beat Crocodile, Luffy will come to help her with his own food, right?

The old minister Ikaram had no doubt about her tone, which sounded like, "Comrades, the eight-year war of resistance has begun." She herself was quite frank; there were too many funny people around her, to the point that she wasn't funny enough, and she always felt out of place. To avoid seeming out of place, she would occasionally try to appear a little funny...

......

"Pirates, welcome to the Grand Line!"

Welcome to Whisky Hill!

Long live the men of the sea!

A cacophony of cheers erupted over the town, and through the thin mist, three pirate ships flying the skull and crossbones flags filed into the dock south of the town.

The dock was filled with "ordinary people" who came out to greet them. They had smiles on their faces and held various flags in their hands. Seeing the fierce-looking pirates was like seeing long-lost relatives.

Although the idiom "箪食壶浆" (meaning "a feast for the hungry and thirsty") doesn't exist in this world, the bounty hunters of Whiskey Hill have already expressed their love and respect for the pirates through their actions, and their heartfelt joy is simply genuine.

The pirates did not disembark immediately. They believed that their reputation had spread throughout the seas known as the "Grand Line" through a series of acts of burning, killing, and looting. However, they had never seen such a lively welcoming ceremony before. Shouldn't the first reaction of ordinary people to pirates be fear?

Icarum, the captain of the palace guard, was quite approachable. He and his men played music and sang on the dock, which somewhat dispelled the pirates' hostility, and pirates gradually came down.

Mr. 9 had already led the atmosphere team to set up the venue. He knew that the pirates were still wary. These days, people like Luffy are a minority. The pirates have fought their way through the Grand Line, and those who are not on guard are long gone.

The atmosphere team set up a huge bonfire party in the center of town, with several hired acrobats performing tricks like stilt walking and jumping through fire hoops. These people's skills were certainly not as good as Buggy the Clown's pirate crew, but they were enough for this part of the event.

Fine wine, delicious food, and lively entertainment quickly eroded the pirates' guard.

Vivi led MS. Monday and a group of bounty hunters who looked like children but were actually dwarfs, and who looked like old people but were actually prematurely gray-haired, to be in charge of the sales at the venue.

Why not spend the money you stole? What's the point of being a pirate then? Why not just go home and live a peaceful life?

The pirates had a strong desire to shop. Money was useless at sea; it only had value when they went ashore and exchanged it for equipment, supplies, and resupply in towns. Soon, a group of pirates flocked to the shopping area on the east side of the plaza.

This area concentrates most of Whiskey Mountain's supplies. To facilitate management and to show the pirates that they are not a scattered group of itinerant merchants who move from place to place after a hit, Vivi also put up a sign that reads "Prince's Magical Items and Special Products Shop".

It was already dusk, and the sound of the sea crashing against the rocks could be heard faintly. Many bounty hunters lit torches, illuminating the trading area brightly.

In the firelight, one could see that containers, shelves, and tables were filled with all sorts of items, including brand-new swords and knives, as well as tattered nautical charts, compasses, and muskets.

"Come on, take a look! You won't regret it! Only 99,000! Only 99,000!" A middle-aged woman was repeatedly shouting the advertising slogan written by Weiwei.

The pirate captain, wearing a captain's hat, asked indistinctly, "Um, what is that short knife in the very middle of that shelf?"

The geography of the One Piece world is quite unique. The Grand Line intersects with the Red Line, dividing the world into four seas: east, west, south, and north. There is little connection between these seas, and Vivi can't even tell which sea this pirate leader comes from.

She glanced back at the shelf, then slowed her speech to make sure the other person could hear and understand, saying, "That...that's the weapon used by the world's greatest swordsman, Hawkeye Mihawk."

The pirate captain clearly didn't believe it; the knife on the shelf wasn't even as big as his palm.

Weiwei knew he didn't believe her, so she deliberately put it out there to dispel his doubts.

She cleared her throat and then asked the pirate captain, "Have you ever seen Hawkeye Dracule Mihawk? No? That makes things easier... This is a hidden weapon that Hawkeye has been keeping secret. He once used this sword to injure Shanks, one of the Four Emperors. I bought this sword from the Red-Haired Pirates. This sword has a resounding name: Little Hawk's Flying Knife!"

Chapter Five: A Game That Doesn't Cause Much Damage or Humiliation

While the "Little Eagle Flying Knife" claim is misleading, this knife, crafted as the "treasure of the store," is indeed quite sharp.

To demonstrate the power of the sword to the pirate captain, Vivi combined her "chain" skill with the techniques of "weapon throwing," flicking her fingers to send the eagle throwing knife spinning twice in her palm before hurling it far away.

A flash of white light appeared, and thirty meters away, a tree as thick as a bowl was cut in half.

This move was both swift and ruthless. With a flick of her wrist, the pull ring on her pinky finger pulled the transparent thread, and the throwing knife drew a beautiful arc before being pulled back.

This move was a martial art that Vivi's predecessor was skilled in, called "Peacock Chain Saw". It emphasizes speed, accuracy and ruthlessness, and the move is relatively concealed. It can often achieve unexpected victories.

After gaining a lot of combat attributes, her strength increased further. Compared to the three admirals and the four emperors, she was incomparable. However, when she used this move, it already had a mysterious and unpredictable meaning in the eyes of a group of pirates who were just grunts.

With a "whoosh," the pirate leader was startled and instinctively drew his long sword. The other pirates also became tense, and several of them even looked around as if searching for an escape route.

"Hehehe—! Don't be nervous, don't be nervous. I'm just letting you test the knife. How about it? Are you interested in buying this Little Eagle Throwing Knife?" Vivi said, while gesturing to the pirates to look at the sign in the distance that read "Prince's Magical Items and Special Products Shop," meaning that this was a legitimate place and they shouldn't get the wrong idea.

Her demonstration was effective, and the throwing knife was of excellent quality, so the pirate captain eventually bought it for 180 million Berries.

With their leader spending money, the remaining pirates also became more enthusiastic.

A burly pirate, who looked to weigh at least 300 pounds, pointed at a rope on the shelf and asked, "What's that? A tattered rope?"

Vivi said with a heavy expression, "That's a cable left behind by the Golden Lion after the Battle of Et Wol. There are only three left in the whole world. You can still hear the roar of the battle on it."

"Really?" The pirate frowned and listened intently, not noticing that the girl in front of him rhythmically stomped her feet twice on the ground. The dull sound, combined with the noise of the entire town, made it sound like a great naval battle to the pirate's preconceived notions.

Vivi lowered her voice: "Some people say that when Shiki was defeated by the Pirate King Roger, he wrote the location of his treasure in a rope next to him."

No matter how priceless a historical artifact is, it's just trash to pirates. But if it contains treasure, its value is completely different. Several pirates' eyes gleamed as they seemed to be thinking about how to avoid being seen by those around them and find this great treasure on their own.

Another pirate pointed to an umbrella placed high up, its surface riddled with large holes: "Is that also a remnant of the Battle of the Golden Lion?"

Vivi had a "you've hit the jackpot" look on her face: "That's the weapon that Red Earl Baron Redfield used to defeat Fleet Admiral Kong, you know? He's the only legendary pirate in history to defeat a Fleet Admiral head-on! After Red Earl was captured, his weapon was lost at sea, and this is it! The weapon he used to defeat the Fleet Admiral! It's said that it also hides his invincible secret."

The last, thin, withered pirate pointed to a gray, fist-sized ball of fur and asked what it was.
