Asuma was overjoyed to have such an obedient student as Choji, and didn't care about the money at all.

Choji felt a little guilty. Asuma-sensei had been too kind to him. He actually had money, but he wanted to save it to eat barbecue when he returned to Konoha.

[It was Shikamaru who gave Choji the idea, tricking Asuma by saying that doing so would save money. He didn't expect Asuma-sensei to fall for it so easily.]

"Pfft." Ino burst out laughing, but this routine felt strangely familiar.

"You guys are really my good students. Shikamaru, you've been corrupted by Sora and are now using tricks. Choji, you can't be so naive in the future. It's wrong to deceive your teacher."

Choji felt even more guilty, but he didn't know if Asuma-sensei would keep his word.

"Teacher, that's not what I meant. It's all just narration talking nonsense."

Asuma took a deep breath and said, "Of course it counts, I am Sarutobi Asuma."

Choji was overjoyed. It seemed that listening to Shikamaru was the right thing to do. Even if he was exposed, Asuma-sensei would agree because of his pride.

Asuma's heart is bleeding. Not only has he been tricked by outsiders, but now he's being tricked by his own students. Can't this world be a little simpler? Can't it be a little kinder to honest people like him?

Asma turned his head, faced the sea, closed his eyes to rest, and tried to find peace of mind from what he saw.

"Asuma-sensei, I've finally waited for you."

The small boat docked, and Kakashi and the others greeted them on the shore.

"You must have had a long journey."

"Not really. The Hokage knows you can complete this mission alone. I'm just showing the Tenth Team Leader around."

After all, doing too many D-level missions can easily lead to complacency.

Chapter Thirty-Four Lime Bombs

Ino said, "Asuma-sensei is absolutely right. It's so boring to weed every day. It would be nice to go outside and get some exercise."

[Finally, a student spoke up for him! Heaven has opened its eyes! Asuma finds Ino more and more pleasing to the eye; she's much cuter than Shikamaru. She's practically his little darling.]

Ino actually wanted to see Sasuke more through this mission; nothing was more important than broadening her horizons.

[Kong seemed to hear a soft "thud," a knife piercing straight into her heart; her sweet little coat had turned into a black-hearted cotton coat, the kind that cuts to the heart.]

[Shikamaru has found his own happiness again. He has discovered a pattern in the narration: the more people try to hide something, the more the narration will reveal it.]

Asuma changed the subject, otherwise he would easily shut up: "Kakashi, how is the situation in the Land of Waves now?"

“Since we defeated Zabuza last time, Gato’s forces have not appeared. I suspect they are preparing some kind of conspiracy.”

[Gato's body is already cold, he died at Bai's hands, and the gang was wiped out by Zabuza. Now Zabuza only wants to kill Uchiha Sora to vent his anger.]

The scene fell silent. Dazner could hardly believe his ears, and his eyes even welled up with tears.

"Is Kado... dead?"

Kakashi nodded. "The narrator did say that Gato died, killed by Haku. He has never lied since the narrator appeared."

Tazna's body trembled slightly, and tears involuntarily streamed down his face.

"Hahaha, this is the best news I've ever heard in my life. The Land of Waves is finally saved. From now on, the Land of Waves will no longer have to endure Gato's exploitation."

I will spread this good news throughout the Land of Waves, encouraging everyone to come and build a bridge, a bridge that belongs to our Land of Waves, so that from this day forward, the Land of Waves will prosper once again.

Tazuna, his face streaked with tears yet unable to suppress a smile, ran madly towards the village, shouting as he went, "Gato's dead! Gato's dead! Our Land of Waves is saved..."

Sakura and Naruto were moved to tears.

Sakura wiped away her tears: "Uncle Tazuna has had it so tough. The crisis in the Land of Waves has finally been resolved. Although it has nothing to do with us, I'm still very happy for them."

Naruto nodded in deep agreement.

Kong shook his head: "It's ironic that Gato's number one henchman has become the savior of the Land of Waves. What a crazy world. Even mice can be bridesmaids for cats."

"This guy is ungrateful; I was the one who reminded him to kill Gato, seize his property, and hand it over to Kirigakure as a pledge of loyalty. And this guy actually wants to kill me!"

He glanced around, revealing an air of confidence, and said loudly, "Now, if Zabuza dares to show up, he's just asking for death. With two Jonin, Kakashi and Asuma, no one but a fool would show up."

If Zabuza actually dares to come, I'll question his intelligence.

[Zabuza, hidden in the water, was burning with rage. That damned brat! He's determined to kill that so-called Konoha genin, Sora! Zabuza could no longer hold back.]

Sora chuckled softly. He already knew that Zabuza was hiding in the water. He quietly moved between Kakashi and Asuma, which was the safest place.

Seven genin quickly closed in, while two jonin provided support from the outside.

[The stubborn Zabuza decided to take action, only by severing the empty head could he vent his anger.]

Asuma formed hand seals: Wind Release: Great Breakthrough. A violent wind swept out of the mist and rushed into the distance, the surrounding mist churning and surging like boiling water, engulfing the sky.

Zabuza's figure flashed by, and mist rose.

"Zabuza, I'm right here. If you have the guts, come and kill me. Being killed by an idiot is just bad luck for Uchiha Sora. If you don't show up by the time I count to three, you might as well change your name to Kirigakure Turtle Man, the turtle of turtles."

[His killing intent was boiling. He planned to bypass Kakashi and Asuma and go straight for that damned Ku. Even if he was surrounded, he would kill this wretched brat first.]

"Three, I've finished counting. As expected, Zabuza the Turtleman didn't dare to show up."

[Zabuza was stunned by the kid's lack of martial ethics. Shouldn't they have counted to three first? Zabuza hadn't expected the brat to cheat.]

Sora lunged forward in an instant, a cold light flashed past where he stood, and then Zabuza's body appeared.

Kong retreated continuously, throwing a smoke bomb that struck the decapitation sword and exploded.

The gray mist completely enveloped Zabuza, who revealed a slight smile. This was a lime bomb he had specially made.

Immediately afterwards, two kunai shot out, heading straight for Zabuza.

Kakashi and Asuma moved at the same time, forming hand seals.

A wall of earthen flow, adorned with dog heads, rose from the ground, separating Sora and Zabuza. Immediately afterward, a massive wind blade hurtled towards Zabuza's location.

The three seemed to have coordinated countless times, giving Zabuza no time to react.

Zabuza sensed his surroundings and suddenly opened his eyes, looking around. The scattered lime dust immediately obscured his vision.

Unless Zabuza wears goggles, his eyes will definitely be irritated; lime in the eyes is no pleasant experience.

The decapitation sword suddenly lashed out in defense, and a huge impact resounded through the mist. Zabuza coughed up a mouthful of blood, and a wound was still slashed open on his chest, from which blood flowed freely.

The enormous impact caused him to roll three or four meters before finally coming to a complete stop.

"You brat, what are you using?"

"This is a specially made lime bomb, designed to deal with guys like you who have their mouths covered."

Sora had already locked onto Zabuza from the system space. His eyes were bloodshot, his chest was covered in blood, and he kept rubbing his eyes with both hands.

He couldn't even care about the wound on his chest. Once his position was locked and his eyes couldn't see clearly, being surrounded by two Jonin would only lead to his death.

"Zabuza-san, what do you think? Should we retreat for now?"

Haku appeared in the mist, knowing that Zabuza had failed again. He hadn't expected the defeat to be so swift; continuing to fight would only lead to certain death.

The thick fog gradually thinned, and apart from the bloodstains on the ground, Zabuza and Haku were nowhere to be seen.

“Zabuza escaped.” Sora said, “I wonder if he will dare to come again next time. He won’t be so lucky to escape from the hands of the two teachers next time.”

Kakashi nodded. "Ku did a good job. He remained calm even when facing a Jonin. If it weren't for your smoke bomb, Zabuza probably wouldn't have been injured so quickly."

Kakashi was somewhat curious about the smoke bombs in the air. He had already seen four or five types, and wondered how many more were yet to be used. However, since it involved ninja secrets, Kakashi didn't intend to pry.

"Haha, thank you for the compliment, Kakashi-sensei. But even I don't know how many kinds of smoke bombs there are. I just buy materials and make them whenever I think of them."

Asuma nodded to himself. It seemed that Sora wasn't entirely useless. Apart from never telling the truth, spending his days freeloading, and being mostly a lazy bum, he still had his merits.

Chapter Thirty-Five: Strange Luck

Sakura quickly chimed in, saying, "Asuma-sensei is absolutely right. Sora is such a hateful guy. If I could beat him up eight times a day, I would do it."

Sakura is somewhat self-aware, knowing she's the one who drags Team 7 down. She's okay at dealing with ordinary people, but when they encounter ninjas, she still needs to rely on her three teammates.

Asuma looked at Sakura with a blank expression and said, "I didn't say anything. It was the narrator who said it. Why are you looking for me?"

Asuma felt that Sakura was a bit naive. She could only attribute the narrator's words to the narrator, not to herself. Even if it was what she thought, she couldn't say it. She was still too innocent and hadn't experienced the harsh realities of life. He, a teacher from another class, needed to teach Sakura a lesson.

Kong gloated, "Some people are overly helpful for no reason, only to find out they're the fools. No wonder the narrator always says that someone has an IQ problem."

[Ku is so gloating. Sakura never learns her lesson. I never expected that Asuma-sensei, who looks so shrewd, would be so cunning, even fooling a little girl. Some people look honest, but they're actually full of bad intentions.]

"Asuma-sensei is such a good person. I never expected the narrator to slander him like this. If I ever hear another narrator insulting Asuma-sensei again, I will definitely clear his name," Sora said righteously.

It's as if they themselves have become the embodiment of justice, while the narrator has become a villain.

Shikamaru glanced at Kakashi. Kakashi-sensei had just said that he had never heard the narrator lie. Ku was getting more and more despicable, and his life was becoming more and more interesting.

Kakashi hesitated for a moment, then said, "I don't remember saying anything like that, Shikamaru. You can't slander your elders."

Shikamaru gained a new understanding of his two teachers' shamelessness. He remembered Sora saying, "A shameless person is invincible."

“Kong is right, the narrator always slanders the two teachers, not a single word of the truth is told,” Shikamaru said.

[I never expected Shikamaru to be so adept at shifting blame. As expected of the highly intelligent Nara clan, Shikamaru may seem like a lazy bum on the surface, but he actually has a secretly passionate side.]

Sora and Shikamaru looked at each other and smiled, as if they were old friends who hadn't seen each other for many years, and they felt a sense of mutual appreciation.

Kakashi took a deep breath, suddenly feeling a bit happy. His class had produced Uchiha Sora, and Asuma's class had produced Nara Shikamaru.

[Kakashi is a handful, and Asuma isn't much better. Kakashi suddenly realizes that the world is still a beautiful place, and that there are others as unlucky as him.]

Asuma's heart is bleeding. Can't there be more sincerity in this world? Why is someone as kind as him always getting hurt?

Asuma gave an awkward laugh and said, "The narrator is getting more and more outrageous, always making jokes like this."

Kakashi nodded in agreement.

Sakura was somewhat gloating. Asuma-sensei deserved it; he tricked her before, and now no one's helping him. This is karma.

In the distance, the sound of rapid footsteps could be heard; Tazuna had returned, bringing with him countless people from the Land of Waves.

Unlike the previous gloom and despair, there was now hope in his eyes, though it was a cautious hope, perhaps because he was not yet certain whether Kado was truly dead.

It was more about trust in Tazna; a little boy running ahead of the group was there.
