The hamster in the cage smelled the aroma, stared longingly at Rena, and squeaked.

Rena looked at the hamster: "Are you hungry? Want to eat?"

The hamster kept nodding and squeaking.

Reina took a bamboo skewer, poked a small piece of sausage into it, and was about to put it into the cage when Itsuki stopped her: "What are you doing?"

“Feed Hamster Wheel, it looks really hungry,” Rena said.

The hamster's eyes sparkled, and it nodded pleadingly.

"No way! How can hamsters eat this kind of food!" Yi Yue said. "Didn't you hear what the clerk said? Don't feed them this kind of cooked food. It's too salty and heavily seasoned, which will increase the burden on the hamster's body."

"Then what should it eat?" Rena asked.

"You can feed them vegetables, fruits, seeds, grains, and animal protein."

Yi Yue explained, "For vegetables, feed them bok choy, white radish, and asparagus, the fresher the better. For seeds, use sunflower seeds and peanuts. For fruits, use apples, strawberries, and cherries. For grains, use millet and corn. For animal protein, use beef, chicken, and milk."

Yi Yue added a special reminder: "Hamsters have a habit of storing food. When feeding them, make sure there's plenty, not too little. If there's not enough food, they'll feel uneasy. Check their food and water bowls daily, change the water to fresh water, and be careful that the fruit they eat doesn't spoil."

"Also, it's summer now. Don't set the air conditioner too low, and don't bring it into the air-conditioned room immediately. Let it gradually get used to it. If it will be in the air-conditioned room for a long time, it's best to take good care of keeping the hamster warm."

Izuki talked on and on, which gave Rena a headache. She nodded as if she understood, and sighed, "This is so troublesome."

"This is troublesome!" Yi Yue said, dissatisfied. "The shop assistant just told you a lot, but you didn't listen to a single word?"

"Not really," Rena scratched her head. "I understood a little bit."

Yi Yue said seriously, "Just understanding isn't enough! Don't treat the hamster like a pet, treat it like a child, a life! These little creatures are very fragile! If there's anything you don't understand, come and ask me right away, okay?"

Izuki looked very serious, and Rena didn't dare to be playful either, so she could only nod and say, "Okay." She thought to herself, "This is so troublesome." Then, thinking of something, she asked Izuki, "Dad, when you raised me, was it like raising a hamster?"

“It was a bit more troublesome,” Yi Yue recalled. “Back then, you were always by my side. If I left you even for a moment, you would cry nonstop.”

"You can't be that insensible, can you?" Rena stuck out her tongue.

"What do you think!" Yi Yue said irritably, "They're many times harder to raise than hamsters."

Rena looked at the hamster in the cage. She had such a headache raising a hamster, let alone raising a child.

Rena immediately sensed that it was a difficult place for Izuki.

Chapter Ninety-Three Training

"Dad, you've worked hard," Rena said, picking up a skewer of meatballs and handing it to her father, grinning, "Dad, have some meatballs!"

Yi Yue took it, ate one, and mumbled, "Knowing how hard I work, be more obedient from now on, study hard, and don't be playful."

"At most, I'll be more obedient," Rena said with a grin.

Yi Yue shook her head helplessly.

"Squeak, squeak." The hamster in the cage squeaked, its eyes fixed longingly on the sausage in Rena's hand.

"Be good, I'll feed you when we get back, but you can't eat sausage!" Rena said.

The hamster squeaked as if in rebuttal, its little fingers pointing incessantly.

"Hurry up and eat. It seems the pet store didn't feed it enough. We'll feed it something when we get back," Yi Yue said.

Rena nodded, her fingers twisting and turning as she comforted the hamster in the cage, "Hamster Wheel, I'll feed you when we get back, so don't squeal."

Yi Yue said, "Couldn't you change the name? Flywheel sounds weird."

Rena retorted, dissatisfied, "Then what good names do you have?"

“I think calling him Shiro is pretty good.” Seeing Reina glance at him, Izuki immediately said, “I think Shiro is good too.”

Rena ignored Izuki and comforted the hamster, saying, "Be good."

Yi Yue asked, puzzled, "Is there anything wrong with the names 'Little White' and 'White Ball'?" She then asked Yi Xue, "Are they really that corny and awful?"

Yi Xue smiled and said, "No, I feel fine."

Rena stuck her tongue out at Izuki: "I think that's so lame!"

……

After finishing her meal and returning home, Yiyue put the turtle into a clean fish tank.

This fish tank was the first one I bought for Rena to keep goldfish.

As a result, less than half a month after buying them, all the goldfish died.

"Everyone says turtles are easy to keep, so I guess there won't be any problems," Yi Yue muttered, placing the bathtub on the wooden table next to the sofa and slowly looking at the hamster in the cage beside it.

The little hamster noticed that Yiyue was watching, squeaked, sat down on the ground, and acted cute.

"Sigh." Yi Yue sighed. The turtle wasn't a problem, it was the hamster that was the main issue.

Izuki is a little worried that Rena might kill the hamster.

It was a life after all, and since it died while being raised, Reina must be the one who's heartbroken.

Last time, when she killed her goldfish, Rena said it was nothing, but she still secretly cried under the covers.

What an adorable little hamster! I'm afraid Rena might feel guilty and develop a lingering trauma because of this incident.

"No, we must help Rena take good care of this hamster!" Izuki cheered up and teased the hamster in the cage with her finger.

Rena emerged from the kitchen looking refreshed, carrying chopped bok choy and a small handful of peanuts.

"Dad, move aside, I'll feed the hamster wheel," Rena said.

Izuki stepped aside and watched Rena feed the hamster with a bright smile on her face. Izuki's smile also brightened.

Time passed slowly, and it got late. Rena yawned, said to the hamster in the cage, "Goodnight," and went back to her room to sleep.

After washing up, Rena turned off the light, lay down on the bed, and drifted off to sleep.

After about ten minutes, Rena's room door slowly opened.

Izuki entered, tiptoed to Reina's side, looked at the sleeping Reina, gently kissed Reina's forehead, and softly said, "Goodnight." She then gently closed the door.

As Yi Yue stepped outside, she stretched deeply.

Tomorrow will be another beautiful day. Looking down at the living room, there's just one more hamster to feed. No, there's also a turtle.

Yi Yue thought to herself, yawned, and went back to her room to sleep.

……

At 5:14 a.m., Yi Yue turned off her alarm clock a minute early and went to the kitchen to cook.

"Hmm, let's have a sandwich for breakfast."

After thinking it over, Izuki busied herself making breakfast and then went to Rena's room to wake her up.

Rena, still a bit grumpy from waking up, said grumbling, "What are you doing!"

"Get up and eat breakfast. We're going hiking later. Don't develop the bad habit of staying in bed too long," Yi Yue said.

Rena muttered unhappily, "Dad, have you forgotten something?"

"Forgot what?" Yi Yue asked, puzzled. Had she promised anything?

Rena reminded me, "You lost to me in badminton yesterday. Promise me you'd let me rest for a day." After saying that, she lay down, turned over, and turned her back to Izuki, saying, "Sleep until you naturally wake up."

Yi Yue wanted to say something, but she held back and said, "Then don't stay up too late. If you don't eat breakfast, your stomach will get upset."

"Okay, I know," Rena said. Hearing the door close, she curled her lip in disdain. "Just skipping breakfast? How could my stomach be ruined by hunger? You're kidding me." She sprawled out comfortably, staring at the ceiling, and said, "I can sleep however I want! I can sleep as long as I want! This is awesome!"

dining table.

While eating her sandwich, Yixue asked Yiyue, "Dad, where's Reina? Why didn't she come for breakfast?"

Yi Yue said, "Have you forgotten? I lost the game to her yesterday and promised her I'd sleep in until I naturally woke up."

"Dad, you spoil her too much," Yixue said.

Yi Yue smiled and said, "Let her relax for a morning. I already promised her, so I can't go back on my word."

Yixue asked, "Then why don't we go hiking later?"

Yi Yue looked out the window; the sunlight was blinding and the sun was blazing. "It's just the two of us; there's no point in going. It's so hot, let's just stay home."

"Mmm." Yixue nodded, quietly eating her sandwich. She ate in small bites, her manners very gentle, with a smile on her face, giving her an elegant air.

Yixue thought to herself, "I wish it were just me going hiking with Dad."

After finishing the sandwich, Yixue drank the milk in her glass.

Yi Yue asked, "Want some more?"

"No need," Yixue said.

"Then you go play first," Yi Yue said.

Yixue nodded, put the dirty bowl into the kitchen sink, took a clean rag, and brought out the trash can.

Yi Yue took the cloth and said, "Okay, thank you." She wiped the table with the cloth, swept the crumbs into the trash can, and thought to herself, "Yi Xue is so thoughtful."

Chapter Ninety-Four: Training Partner

Yixue went to the living room to watch TV, but after a while, Yiyue still hadn't come out of the kitchen.

Yi Xue found it strange; washing dishes shouldn't take this long. She got up to check the kitchen and found that Yi Yue wasn't there, but in the room next door with the balcony.

This room used to be where Makise exercised and practiced yoga. There were dumbbells on the floor, a treadmill next to it, a small TV, and a pull-up bar.

Yi Yue supported herself on the ground with both hands, lying face down, doing push-ups.

Yixue came over and asked, puzzled, "Dad, why did you suddenly decide to exercise?" She never sees Yiyue exercising usually.

Yi Yue stopped, took a breath, and slowly stood up, saying, "On a whim, I suddenly felt like exercising."

Seeing Yixue looking at her strangely, Yiyue smiled and said, "Actually, I'm just not feeling well, and I was thinking of exercising to improve my physical fitness. I don't want to get sick so easily."

"Is that so..." Yixue was still somewhat skeptical.
