"Is there a plague?" Upon hearing Lu Ming's warning, the three of them quickly dragged the wandering soul into the jewelry store, only glancing back at the corpses in the courtyard with lingering fear.
Seeing this, Lu Ming couldn't help but marvel at the audacity of people from another world, who could even tolerate such disgusting sights.
Perhaps realizing he hadn't introduced himself yet, the burly man glanced briefly at the pile of animal carcasses in the yard, then bowed to Lu Ming and said, "My name is Kailar, and I am your adjutant, His Excellency Lu Ming, the Sheriff."
“I have an adjutant? I thought I was just a temporary worker!” Lu Ming chuckled, then pointed to the wandering soul on the ground chewing its chains, and asked Kylar, “But how did you know we were here?”
“It was that fellow Rafam who contacted me. He was terrified by Viscount Hatu’s threat and wanted me to protect him. So when I learned that you and Lord Fren were here capturing this guy, I grabbed a few chains and rushed over.” Although Kailar’s answer was reasonable, it made Lu Ming slightly suspicious.
"Alright." Lu Ming nodded slightly, then walked out: "Dex, Fren, take that wandering spirit to the lord's manor to report. Also, Kylar, go and get some people to remove all the corpses from the backyard of this shop. Remember to tell them to take a bath afterward to avoid getting sick!"
"Yes, sir!"
-----------------------------------
As evening fell, Viscount Hatu arrived at the lord's manor with his son to settle accounts with Yusaha, the daughter of Countess Luyanali.
"My lord! I wonder what your decision is regarding your daughter having my son's clothes stripped off in public?" Although somewhat intimidated by Luyanali's imposing presence, Viscount Hatu still spoke righteously, "If you cannot give me an explanation, then I will go to Grand Duke Ramtes and have him give a fair judgment!"
"Have you decided that the Grand Guild will replace me as Earl because of your son's situation?"
"He may not change the lord of Niflheim, but he will not allow a nobody woman to beat up a real nobleman!"
"You mean you want the Grand Duke to execute my daughter?"
"Yes!"
"Heh! Hatu, don't forget, you're still a viscount under my command. If I want to kill you, you can't escape!"
"Perhaps that's true. But our family has been nobles for generations! And you're just a nouveau riche! Without the support of us nobles, do you think your family can still remain a noble family?"
Hearing Viscount Hatu's threat, Luyanali narrowed her eyes, looked at Viscount Hatu's old face, smiled coldly, and said, "I've already sent people to arrest your son's attendant. I believe we'll find him soon, and then it won't be my daughter's problem anymore, but only your son's!"
"What do you mean?" Upon hearing this, Viscount Hatu frowned.
However, the countess did not explain anything to him, but simply looked towards the door.
Seeing this, Viscount Hatu and his son also looked towards the door. There they saw Fren enter with two servants, carrying something covered by a black cloth.
"Mother, the servant of Viscount Hatu's son has been found. However..."
"Just what?"
“But he has become a zombie.” Furen suddenly lifted the black cloth covering the thing, revealing a wandering soul with broken arms, chained up, and almost indistinguishable from a mummy.
Upon seeing the ghost's terrifying yet pitiful appearance, Viscount Hatu and his son were both startled and took a step back in unison.
The Countess observed all of this. She gave a cold smile and said to Viscount Hatu, "I now suspect your son is the culprit behind this servant's transformation; he must be thoroughly interrogated!"
Fearing that Luyanali might harm him, Viscount Hatu immediately feigned anger and roared, "My lord! To casually drag out a monster and claim it's my son's follower is surely an attempt to frame me and my son!"
"And this one?" Knowing that Viscount Hatu might turn on him, Furen took out a crest from his pocket and threw it on the ground.
Upon seeing the emblem, Viscount Hatu's son was so frightened that he collapsed to the ground, leaving Viscount Hatu, who still wanted to argue, with no choice but to give up on this son who was not particularly outstanding among his many sons. He snorted coldly to himself and left in a huff.
As soon as Viscount Hatu left, his son was immediately arrested by the lord's men and imprisoned in the dungeon.
However, when only the Countess and Fren were left in the room, the Countess suddenly asked, "What's the deal with this emblem?"
“It was stolen from the black market by a dwarf friend of mine. Viscount Hatu’s son owns a shop there, and everyone there wears the Hatu family crest. So it was easy to get.”
"This wasn't your idea. It was Lu Ming's, wasn't it?"
"Yes. He said that only in this way could Viscount Hatu be left speechless."

Chapter 5 - The Rabbit Hunter and the Second Undead
Standing outside the dungeon of the lord's manor, Lu Ming, Lily, and Dex waited for Yusahar, this woman who acted without considering the consequences, to be released.
After waiting for about five minutes, Yusahar was brought out of the dungeon by a servant of the lord's manor.
Having just been 'released from prison,' she immediately threw herself into Lu Ming's arms. It took her a while to pull away from his embrace, which was a little bewildered, because of the dark aura emanating from Lily. Wiping away the tears that were about to fall from the corners of her eyes, she said, "I thought it would take you two days to find that immortal, but I didn't expect you to catch him in just one day."
"Don't talk like that! If it weren't for you, having that nobleman's clothes stripped off properly, would you be locked up?" Hearing Yusaha's reckless words, Lu Ming angrily smacked her on the head and said.
Yusaha covered his head and retorted angrily, "Back then, didn't you also draw your weapon, ready to avenge me? Why are you only talking about me?!"
Seeing that Lu Ming and Yusaha were about to start arguing, Dex immediately stepped between them, saying, "Alright, alright! It's over now. You two should just shut up!"
Seeing this, Lu Ming and Yusaha stopped caring about the matter.
When Fren emerged dejectedly from the Countess's quarters, Lu Ming and his group headed straight for the commercial district to have a proper meal. Also in the group were Rafam, the dwarf who had been forced by Lu Ming to steal the emblem of Viscount Hatu's family, and Kailar, Lu Ming's so-called adjutant.
Since there were dwarves present, drinking was inevitable during the feast in the commercial district. Among everyone, the only two who didn't drink were the relatively sober Lu Ming and the easygoing Dex; everyone else, including Lily, had drunk quite a bit and were so drunk they could barely stand.
Seeing that they had eaten enough, Lu Ming and Dex, who hadn't drunk any alcohol, helped Yusaha, Lily, and Fren back to their mansion in the noble district. Rafam and Kylar, however, were still drinking...
Back at the mansion, Lu Ming helped Lily and Yusaha to the bed in Yusaha's room, had the maid take care of them, and then went back to his own room, closed the door, lay down on the bed, and looked at the map of Paris City on his phone.
"A sheriff should be similar to a police chief, and considering the security situation in Paris City, the job should be relatively easy. It's just that it's quite strange for someone like me, a graduate of a teachers' college, to suddenly become a sheriff with police-like functions!"
-----------------------------------
The next morning, when Lu Mingqi went to wash up, Yusaha and Lily, who had gotten up a little earlier than him, looked pale. He couldn't help but laugh and say, "Look at how pale you both look! If you can't drink, then don't drink!"
Hearing this, Yusaha and Lily couldn't help but get a little angry. But Lu Ming was right; if you can't drink and you still drink so much, you'll only end up hurting yourself.
However, are girls reasonable? Obviously not.
So, under the combined pressure of the two angry girls, Lu Ming had no choice but to agree to several of their unreasonable demands and take them outside the city to hunt demon rabbits. Furthermore, Lu Ming's daily rewards had to be given to them, or else he would have to experience their power.
Reluctantly, Lu Ming had no choice but to agree, and after breakfast, he left the city with the two women. But on the way, the three of them encountered Fren, who also looked rather unwell, and a girl who had come out with him.
After introducing himself, Lu Ming learned that the girl was Fren's fiancée, named Mir Tullan, the youngest daughter of a wealthy merchant in Paris.
Honestly, in Lu Ming's eyes, Mil was pretty much a beauty. Although she couldn't compare to Lily or Yusaha, she shouldn't be worth sending that bastard Furen to the village of Helas to find a husband through a martial arts contest, right? He didn't know the details, but he did know that Furen was a scumbag.
After leaving the city gate, Lu Ming arrived at a large meadow near the forest outside Paris. Feeling the gentle breeze blowing by, Lu Ming's heart suddenly calmed down.
Sitting a little away from the forest, watching Lily, Yusaha, Furen, and Mill hunt rabbits, Lu Ming felt a pang of pity for the little rabbits for the first time. But every time he thought about being chased around by a hail of rabbits, this feeling of pity for the magical rabbits would vanish without a trace.
"It's you, Mr. Lu Ming." At that moment, a little girl's voice came from behind Lu Ming, greeting him.
Lu Ming turned around and saw You'er Sika, dressed in a snow-white robe, standing behind him with a small basket, smiling at him.
Good morning, Yul Sica.
"Good morning." You'er Sika gave a slight bow, then sat down not far from Lu Ming, imitating Lu Ming as he quietly enjoyed the breeze on the grass.
"Are you here to hunt rabbits too?" Lu Ming couldn't help but ask, noticing several kneeling demon rabbits in You'er Sika's small basket as he looked at her.
“No.” Yu’er Sica shook her head, then pointed to an old mage in the distance who was using a staff to kill a magical rabbit one by one, and said, “It’s my teacher who’s come to hunt rabbits. He really likes the semi-alchemical potions and drinks from the apple tree. Because he’s very old, he asked me to take these little rabbits.”
"I see." Lu Ming glanced at the old mage and smiled slightly. "But you're so small, can you even lift it?"
"Don't underestimate me! I've made those strong guys on the black market cry!" Yu'er Sika struck a bodybuilding pose and said angrily.
"Alright, alright, You'er Sika can carry it!" Lu Ming smiled helplessly and could only go along with You'er Sika's wishes.
At this point, having probably already defeated 15 magic rabbits, the old mage came over, called Yul Sica over, and asked her to put most of the magic rabbits into the small basket, while he himself only took 5 magic rabbits.
Seeing Yu'er Sica casually carrying the magical rabbits and walking towards the city gates of Paris with the old mage, Lu Ming smiled and joined the rabbit hunters. What could he possibly say when someone so old was hunting rabbits like this?
Unable to automatically regenerate mana like Lily and Yusaha, he didn't really want to use the Seed Machine or Fine Snow, two mana-intensive spells, to deal with the little rabbits.
So after Yusaha and the others had killed enough magic rabbits, Lu Ming told them to stay as far away as possible, and then he used the Metal Sound spell, which reduces magic resistance.
Lu Ming took a deep breath, then opened his mouth wide, emitting a loud, metallic screech that made all the little rabbits shuffle to the ground, desperately pressing their tiny paws to their ears. But this was exactly what Lu Ming wanted to see.
Using the Sage's Candlestick, one at a time, all 15 Demon Rabbits were quickly defeated.
But just as he turned his back to Yusaha and the others to take out the quest log, he was shocked to find that the stat in the main quest log had changed from 1 to 2. Before Yulshika spoke, he had glanced at the quest progress, and at that time the stat hadn't changed.
In other words, that immortal person might also be Yorshka's teacher, the old mage.
Realizing this, Lu Ming immediately handed in his daily task and then quickly headed towards Yusaha and the others.
"We've found the second immortal. Let's head back!"
Hearing Lu Ming say this, Yusaha and the others were slightly taken aback, and then quickly put the Demon Rabbit's corpse into Yusaha's phone, leaving only Furen and Mil there to continue playing.
On the way back to Paris, Yusaha asked Lu Ming about the second undead hiding in Paris: "Who is that undead? Why is it there?"
"He must be a white mage in the church, and a teacher of one of my friends."
"Is that the teacher of the little kid who was sitting next to you just now?"
"Yes."
-----------------------------------
Soon, Lu Ming and the others returned to Paris City and headed straight for the church.
Unfortunately, when they arrived at the church, the pastor said that the old mage was not a white mage of the church, but a black mage living in the industrial area. If he hadn't been one of the few mages in the city and knew how to learn white magic, the church wouldn't have allowed Yorshka to go with him.
Left with no other option, Lu Ming and the others had to head towards the industrial zone.
Finally, at workshop number 467 in the industrial zone, they encountered You'er Sika and the old mage, who had just traded apple soda with the tree spirit.
"Ha~ha~ha~" Lu Ming and his two companions, who had been running for half a day, breathed a sigh of relief. Then Lu Ming stepped forward and said to the old mage, "I am Lu Ming, the sheriff. I would like to talk to you about something."
Upon hearing that Lu Ming was a sheriff, the old mage's expression turned somewhat unpleasant. You'er Sika also stood in front of the old mage, fearing that Lu Ming might do something bad to his teacher.
Seeing the nervous looks on You'er Xika's and the old mage's faces, Lu Ming awkwardly touched his nose, then pointed to the workshop next to him and said, "Let's go inside and talk. Don't worry, I came to see you for your own good."
Hearing Lu Ming say this, You'er Xika, who had exchanged a few words with him, naively began to persuade the old mage to let Lu Ming and the other two into the workshop.
The example used, however, left Lu Ming somewhat speechless, both amused and exasperated.
"If you get into a fight in the street, teacher, you'll be hunted down by all the sheriffs of Paris! So let them in!"
"Hey! Are you even a white magic apprentice of the church? What about your doctrine?! And what's with that murderous tone?!" Lu Ming remained calm on the surface, but inwardly he was furiously ranting.
The old mage looked at Lu Ming, Yusaha, and Lily, thought for a moment, then nodded and let the three of them enter the workshop.
Upon entering the room, Lu Ming didn't bother with beating around the bush and went straight to the old mage asking, "Do you have the Dark Ring on you?"
The old monk's eyes narrowed sharply!
