"What are your orders, Miss Yusaha?" The burly men immediately asked respectfully when they saw that the person who called them was Yusaha.
"Strip those three of them naked!!" Yusaha grinned sinisterly, pointing at the nobleman who had mocked him and his entourage, and addressed the burly men.
"Yes!" The burly men exchanged glances, somewhat hesitant, but because of Yusaha's cold gaze, they had no choice but to strip the nobleman of his clothes.
Soon, amidst the nobleman's screams, the burly men stripped him of his clothes, even removing his underwear, forcing Yusaha and Lily to turn their backs and avoid looking at him.
Hearing the nobleman's screams and seeing his pitiful appearance, Lu Ming almost vomited. Did this grown man really have to act like a girl who had been raped?
However, seeing that he didn't have the Dark Ring on his back, Lu Ming had the burly men return his clothes to him to avoid making him feel disgusted.
However, just as the burly men turned to walk towards the two attendants, one of them suddenly drew a short sword and slashed and wounded the burly men and the other attendant in a few strokes, then ran frantically into the black market.
Blocked by the fallen burly men and their entourage, Lu Ming didn't have time to catch up with him and could only watch helplessly as he disappeared into the black market.

Chapter 3 - The Sheriff's Methods (Seeking recommendations and attention)
"Yusaha, this time you must give me an explanation!" The countess coldly stared at her daughter, pointing at her with an icy gaze, and roared, "You stripped Viscount Hatu's son naked in public, making him and Viscount Hatu lose all face! Moreover, you allowed that undead who might turn into a monster to injure someone and then let him escape. If you can't give me an explanation, then the dungeon will be your residence for the rest of your life!"
“Mother! I am merely searching for the undead hiding in the city. As for the matter of Viscount Hatu’s son, I can only say that since he has an undead follower, who knows if he knows about this and is deliberately hiding the undead!”
"That's one explanation. But what about that immortal man? He injured several people with just a short sword!"
"Mother, please give me two days. I will definitely find that immortal man!"
"no need!"
Yusaha, filled with fear and apprehension, looked at the Countess in shock, too frightened to speak.
However, the countess did not do as she expected. Instead, she tapped the table lightly with her fingers and called in a man in black.
"Your Excellency!"
The countess produced a document and tossed it to the man in black, coldly ordering, "Go tell Lu Ming that starting this afternoon, he is one of the four sheriffs of Paris City. His mission is to find the hidden undead in the city! Also, tell him he must find the undead being harbored by Viscount Hatu's son within two days, or else, Yusahar, will be executed!"
"Yes! Lord Earl!"
After the man in black left with the documents, the Countess looked at Yusaha, who was trembling in disbelief, and sneered, "Two days, you said it yourself. If you can't find it, you're dead! Don't think that just because you're not dead, you're truly immortal. At the very least, you'll become a wandering ghost!"
-----------------------------------
Sitting in Yusaha's mansion, Lu Ming looked at the documents in front of him filled with text he couldn't understand, feeling a headache and even a bit frantic.
"What do we do now? We have no intelligence sources, no informants, and just the few of us. Do we really think we can find that immortal?" Dex, who had come with Fren after hearing the news, asked Lu Ming and the others.
"The problem now isn't whether we can find the Undead, but that damned Viscount Hatu!" Furen scratched his head and said, quite annoyed.
"What do you mean?" Dex looked at Fren with some confusion, not understanding.
"That means even if we find the immortal, if Viscount Hatu denies that the immortal we've gone through so much trouble to find is his son's follower, Yusaha will still be executed." Furen sighed heavily, sounding both helpless and angry.
"Never mind, let's go out and look around first. Lily and I will go to the noble district and the industrial district, and you two will go to the commoner district and the commercial district. Also, if you have any trustworthy friends in the city, call them over to help!" After thinking it over and over, Lu Ming, who couldn't come up with a solution, slammed his hand on the table, stood up, and walked out.
Seeing this, Dex and Fren had no choice but to go out and find that immortal person who should have died but couldn't.
As soon as he stepped outside, Lu Ming headed straight for the black market where he had encountered the immortal man that morning. He planned to look for clues there and see if anyone had seen where the immortal man had gone.
Because it was his mission that led Yusaha into this predicament, Lu Ming felt extremely guilty. The task of finding the immortals also transformed into an operation to save the crazy girl, Yusaha.
The black market is a mixed bag of people, including thieves, robbers, tomb raiders, nobles and wealthy people, as well as some ordinary people just trying to make a living.
Because most of the items in the black market are stolen goods or contraband, the shops don't display them outside; instead, they're kept in wooden boxes. However, this wasn't what Lu Ming wanted to know.
After questioning everyone in the shop, one by one, Lu Ming was shocked to discover that everyone in the black market had been threatened. Each person claimed they hadn't seen the immortals, and even their accounts of what happened that morning were identical. Clearly, they had been forced to memorize these statements and had no choice but to repeat themselves.
This situation left Lu Ming's investigation in a dilemma, but just when he was about to give up, the unreliable dwarven archaeologist Rafam suddenly appeared in a corner of the black market. He was haggling with a shopkeeper, preparing to give him something.
Upon seeing him, Lu Ming immediately smiled.
Stepping forward, Lu Ming patted Rafaam on the head, and then, as Rafaam roared angrily, "Who dares to pat the head of the great Rafaam!?", he placed the Sage's Candlestick around Rafaam's neck.
"I am Sheriff Lu Ming. I received a report that this dwarf gentleman stole from the lord's manor." Lu Ming grinned at Rafam, spouting nonsense with a straight face that nearly made Rafam faint. He then looked at the shopkeeper who was about to buy Rafam's things and said, "I now suspect you are his accomplice, so please come with me to the sheriff's office for a drink of water."
"Want a glass of water?"
"Yes. Pepper spray! I promise you'll get plenty!"
Rafam and the shopkeeper, seeing Lu Ming's grin, both swallowed hard, then followed him dejectedly. After all, defying the sheriff was tantamount to defying the lord's laws, practically suicide. But if one escaped through connections, then there were no such connections.
Unfortunately, Lu Ming did not take them to the police station, but instead took them to Fren's mansion.
There's a basement here, perfect for locking the two of them up and interrogating them thoroughly.
"Lu Ming! I'm warning you! Vigilante justice is illegal! The lord will not let you get away with this!" With the help of one of Furen's servants, Lu Ming tied the two of them up in the basement. But Rafam, mistakenly thinking that Lu Ming was going to use a whip or something to interrogate them, immediately started yelling and shouting.
"Who said I was going to use torture?" Lu Ming asked with a smile, then had Furen's servant bring two large feathers and had the servant remove Rafam's and the black market shopkeeper's shoes and socks.
"Do you know what this is about?" Squatting down in front of Rafam, Lu Ming asked with a smile, "In my hometown, there are many types of interrogations. If you encounter a situation like this, we generally don't use violence. Our approach is to smile!"
"laugh?"
“That’s right! Laughter. We’ll force you to laugh, and you won’t be able to stop. You’ll laugh yourself to death, and no one will be able to tell you’ve been tortured. Also, the ropes used to bind you are deliberately made loose, so that they won’t leave any marks when you struggle.” Pointing a feather at Rafam’s face, Lu Ming laughed, “I’m giving you one last chance. Tell me where the attendant of Viscount Hatu’s son, who injured someone this morning, is. Otherwise, I’ll make you wish you were dead!”
Rafam and the shopkeeper gritted their teeth, steeled their resolve, and roared, "We'd rather die than tell!"
"..." Lu Ming glanced at Rafam, then turned to Furen's servant and said, "Go and call Furen and the others back. Tell them that Rafam and the shopkeeper on the black market said everything. Also, spread this news."
Upon hearing this, Rafam and the shopkeeper's faces darkened, and they asked, trembling slightly, "What did you do before?"
“Me? I used to be a teacher’s college student, that is, a student who studied to be a teacher. However, because I read a lot of books and other things, I know a little about everything.” Lu Ming smiled slightly, then grabbed Rafam’s calf and started tickling his soles with feathers. Rafam immediately burst into laughter and couldn’t stop.
"Hahaha...no...hahahahahaha...please...hahahahahahaha...let me go..."
Seeing Rafam laughing in agony as Lu Ming tormented him, the servant fled without hesitation. The shopkeeper, meanwhile, was drenched in cold sweat, his eyes wide with terror as he stared at the feather in Lu Ming's hand, as if it were something far more terrifying than a butcher's knife.
Forty minutes later, after the servants brought Fren and Dex back, Rafam and the shopkeeper were almost ready to end their suffering by committing suicide.
When Fren and Dex saw the miserable state of Rafam and the shopkeeper, they were both surprised that Lu Ming had this side to him. However, Lu Ming didn't think so. After all, he hadn't hit, whipped, or branded them, so what right did Fren and Dex have to criticize him?
"Are you willing to talk now?"
"I've agreed, I've agreed, or I'll really die. Besides, even if I don't say it, no one outside will believe me." The shop owner, who had been tickled for twenty minutes, said weakly.
"So, where did that attendant go? Do you know where he lives?"
"He is the son of a shop owner in the commercial district who sells gold and jewelry. Recently, he has become somewhat irritable because he suddenly and inexplicably lost a lot of his memories. After he attacked someone today, he went straight home and plans to leave the city once the curfew is lifted."
"How did you know?"
"Everyone on the black market knows this, but they dare not say it because of Viscount Hatu's orders."
"Which shop does his family own?"
"186 Commercial District, Brunhilde Jewelry Store."
"Brunhild, the Valkyrie of the Song of the Nibelungs?" Upon hearing the shop's name, Lu Ming paused slightly, then disregarded the fate of Rafam and the shop owner, and prepared to take Dex and Fren to Brunhild's Jewelry Shop to check things out.
However, before he stepped out of the basement, he breathed a sigh of relief, which nearly infuriated Rafam and the shopkeeper.
"I didn't expect the methods in the book to be so useful. I thought they were fake!"
After saying that, Lu Ming, Fren, and Dex left the basement. Fren then untied Rafam's ropes, and as for the shop owner...

Chapter 4 - Wandering Soul (Please recommend, follow, and favorite)
After passing through the foul-smelling civilian district, Lu Ming and his group arrived at the place where the undead were hiding: Brunhilde Jewelry Store.
“This is the right place.” Dex looked up and then nodded to Lu Ming.
"Then, let's go in."
As soon as Lu Ming and his companions stepped into Brunhilde Jewelry Store, they were greeted by a strong herbal scent, which puzzled Lu Ming. It was supposed to be a jewelry store, but the air was thick with medicinal smells; someone unfamiliar with the place might have mistaken it for a pharmacy!
"What would you like to buy?" An elderly man with gray hair and glasses, who seemed to be the shop owner, immediately stepped forward to ask Lu Ming and his group upon seeing them.
"Oh, we're from the police station. A pastor from a church came to us, saying your son has inexplicably lost some memories, and he suspects it's some kind of curse, so he asked us to find him and have him go to church as soon as possible." To avoid arousing the shop owner's suspicion, Lu Ming started spouting nonsense with a straight face before Dex and Fren could.
After listening to what Lu Ming said, the shop owner thought for a moment, then sighed and said, "You don't need to hide it from me. I already know everything about him. Come with me."
After saying that, he walked towards the inner courtyard of the shop.
Seeing this, Lu Ming had no choice but to follow.
As soon as they entered the inner courtyard, they saw a pile of corpses. Although there were no human, elf, or dwarf corpses, they were mostly animal carcasses. However, the stench emanating from the large pile of corpses was unbearable.
After just one sniff, Lu Ming almost fainted and immediately retreated back into the shop without saying a word.
Looking at Lu Ming, whose face had turned pale, the shopkeeper said with a wry smile, "This was to prevent him from losing his memory further, so we bought a lot of livestock for him to slaughter. However, this method only works at the beginning, and it becomes ineffective later on."
"Is the smell of herbs in the shop just to mask the smell of rotting corpses?" Lu Ming covered his mouth and nose, trying not to smell the disgusting odor, and also trying his best not to look at the nearly rotten animal carcasses, lest he vomit.
"I'll go and call him out. It's already like this anyway." After thinking it over, the shop owner decided it was better to call his son out himself than to anger Lu Ming, the so-called sheriff. He went into a room in the inner courtyard, intending to bring his son out so that Lu Ming and the others could take him away.
But after waiting for a while, no one came out, so Dex went over to take a look at what was going on inside.
However, before he could even get there, a blood-stained dagger was thrust out of the house and aimed straight at Dex's throat.
Dex was startled by this unexpected turn of events and quickly dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the sword and escaping the fate of being pierced through the throat.
At this moment, Lu Ming and the others began to attack the owner of the short sword.
Dark green, almost dried up to skin and bones, its eyes had lost all their luster, no different from the eyes of a dead fish; it was clear at a glance that this person had completely turned into a living corpse.
"Seed Machine!" Lu Ming wouldn't be polite to a zombie. The blood dripping from the man's short sword was enough for Lu Ming to kill the bastard who killed his father.
A series of seeds were shot by Lu Ming at the wandering soul.
Like the Hyde Knight in the dungeon, it's unclear whether it's an innate fighting spirit or something else. When the seed machine fired at it, it suddenly swung its short sword, cutting down most of the seeds. Only a small portion of the seeds hit its body, shattering pieces of its bones.
Compared to the Hyde Knight, this wandering spirit had neither the protection of armor nor the sturdy Hyde straight sword. The short sword in its hand broke in two after blocking one of Lu Ming's seed machines.
Upon seeing this, Fren and Dex immediately rushed forward. One of them grabbed the wandering spirit's arm and snapped it with a crack. At the same time, they kicked the wandering spirit hard in the inside of its knee, causing it to kneel on the ground.
Seeing the wandering spirit being suppressed by Fren and Dex, who were both trying their best to bite, Lu Ming didn't know how to take it away. After all, a wandering spirit was quite dangerous, and it could even kill someone!
Just then, a burly man dressed in fine clothes, though not as extravagantly as Fren, walked in from outside the shop carrying several iron chains and quickly joined the ranks of those suppressing the wandering spirit.
After wedging an iron chain into the ghost's mouth, the burly man, along with Dex and Fren, quickly used the chain to lock the ghost in place before plopping down on the ground and letting out a heavy sigh.
"Can you guys please not sit next to a pile of rotting corpses? It's one thing if you're not disgusted, but aren't you afraid of the plague?" Seeing the burly man, whose identity he didn't know, sitting in the yard with Dex and Fren, Lu Ming pinched his nose and kindly reminded them.
