After the Demon King escaped, Lu Ming took out several empty syringes and collected the Demon King's blood from the ground, intending to use it as evidence to prove that Antu Laques was the culprit who caused the Grand Duke to become beast.

"We should go back and report to the Grand Duke." After putting all the syringes into his phone, Lu Ming patted Lothric, who was somewhat annoyed because the Demon King had escaped, and said.

"Okay. Let's go."

----------------------------------

The next morning, Lu Ming left the Earl's mansion of Phoenix Aimon and went straight to his parents' house in Philner. After taking a short shower, he collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Looking at Lu Ming, who had been working outside all night, Sham, lying in his arms, tenderly stroked his face...

Meanwhile, Philner was downstairs, catching up with his younger siblings who had just returned from the prestigious school.

"Are you sure you're doing this? Your brother-in-law has been exhausted all night. Aren't you going to keep him company?" Philna's brother couldn't help but ask, watching Philna chatting with her sister.

"What I do with your brother-in-law is none of your business," Philner said coldly, glancing at his worried younger brother.

"Whatever." With a helpless smile, Philna's brother then asked Philna, "Then why do you think Grand Duke Rells Hadist would ask to get engaged to our sister, Shumira, even though he was already married to Count Phoenix Amon? My dear Countess!"

“I don’t know. Do you know something?” Philner frowned slightly as he looked at his younger brother, unable to discern what he was thinking.

Do you know the Hatu family?

“I know. The woman upstairs with your brother-in-law right now is from the Hatu family.”

"Three months ago, the Hatu family was just a minor noble family in Niflheim, but now they are a family with considerable influence in Agamemnon and even throughout Erebus. Do you know why?"

"(Hunter)?" Shumira replied with some confusion.

“Indeed, (hunters)!” Philna’s brother nodded with a smile, and continued, “The hunt is almost over now, and the hunters in these (hunter) organizations are already preparing to accept the recruitment of various nobles. But now most of the hunters, as well as those who left (the hunters) during the Seven Days’ Civil War, are already vassals of the Hatu family! So now the Hatu family is the family that no noble in Erebus dares to provoke.”

"In order to gain this powerful force, the Grand Duke will definitely try his best to recruit my brother-in-law and the Hatu family. But apart from Sham, who is a direct descendant, the other Hatu daughters are all from collateral branches, so the Grand Duke cannot form a marriage alliance with them. So what other options are there?"

"To indirectly form an alliance with the Hatu family through a marriage with the sister of another wife of Sham's husband!"

Chapter 9 - Dungeon [Undead Temple] Part 1

In the afternoon, when Lu Ming got up, old Ozmoz had already taken Philna's sister to Count Amon's mansion to let the Grand Duke, who was temporarily residing there, meet her. Meanwhile, Philna's brother, driven by some minor ambition, had followed two hunters who had come to report on a special prey to the hunters' secret base in Agamemnon. He planned to join the hunters' organization and gradually recruit some hunters to work for the Ozmoz family.

Lu Ming, who had just gotten up, picked up his phone and glanced at it. He noticed that the copy application, which had been inactive for more than three months, had a new notification and a message in his notification bar.

"The new instance is ready and will begin at 3 PM. Have fun!"

From: Death, Lepluto.

"Since when did dungeons become the domain of death? This time it won't be any harder than before, will it? Wait, what is this quest?"

While pondering and planning to claim the Moonlight Arrow from the daily quests, Lu Ming suddenly noticed a new quest category in his quest log: Dungeon Quests.

There's only one quest called "Ghost Mage," which requires you to kill 300 Ghost Mages. The reward is something called "Dungeon Re-explorer."

"Ghost Mages, this quantity... does it mean the dungeon is the Undead Temple? But does the reward mean I have to run the dungeon again? Where am I going to find teammates? Right now, the only person I can trust is Sham. What should I do?"

Just as Lu Ming was pondering what to do about the upcoming dungeon, Sham and Philna each carried two plates of food in.

"You haven't eaten anything this morning, have something to eat now." Sham said with concern as he placed the food on the bedside table.

“I understand.” Lu Ming nodded and handed his phone and another phone, which he had found in a room in Count Laques’s mansion that the Grand Sage used to research blood therapy, to Sham. Then he began to eat.

“I know this is yours, but where did this come from?” Sham took the phone and saw the copy countdown on it, but she remained calm and instead asked Lu Ming about the origin of the other phone.

"I found this in Count Laquis's manor. It must belong to some unfortunate soul who was used as a guinea pig in blood therapy experiments."

"So, what do you mean, you're planning to give it to me?"

Lu Ming nodded and said, "Although this thing is not fully functional, the internal space is still usable. It's perfect for you to use."

Upon hearing this, Sham glanced at Philner, who was standing to the side with a curious expression, and then asked Lu Ming, "If this thing is given to me, then it's mine, right? I can use it freely and distribute it to my family, right?"

Mistaking Sham for Muka's sake and her brother who had been hiding in the shadows, she didn't think much of it and nodded, saying, "It's yours now."

"Then, you can have this Philner."

To Lu Ming's surprise, Sham, after receiving his approval, immediately gave the phone to Philner.

This caught him completely off guard, leaving him dumbfounded as he stared at Sham. If he hadn't known Sham would never betray him, Lu Ming would have been furious, and his fury would have been like a forest fire!

"What's the reason?" Philner couldn't help but ask, not understanding why Sham would hand over such a mysterious phone to him.

“Because we don’t have enough people, I have to bribe you,” Sham said with a slight smile, seemingly out of nowhere.

These words startled Lu Ming slightly, but he quickly understood what Sham meant.

Because death in a dungeon is a real death. So Sham thought it was better to bring Philnar along than to risk it out with just the two of them, to avoid the danger of dying in the dungeon.

"What's wrong? Why are you trying to bribe me?"

"You'll see when the time comes. Anyway, it should be today." Sham smiled slightly, then suddenly pressed Philner down onto the bed and said to Lu Ming beside him, "Want some?"

"They're here!" Seeing this, Lu Ming smiled helplessly, then locked the door first, and slowly undressed as he walked towards Philner, who already knew what was about to happen.

"Two people are bullying me..."

-----------------------------------

At 3 PM, Lu Ming and his two companions were teleported into the instance right on time.

Looking around at the darkness, though he could still make out some things, Lu Ming was certain that this was the second generation's Undying Temple.

"It's so dark here!" Sham and Philna couldn't help but complain about the dark environment of the Necropolis.

“This is the shrine of the undead, it’s impossible for it not to be dark. Also, I need to summon another undead, otherwise the three of us won’t be able to light the campfires along the way.” Sitting next to a campfire that had already gone out, Lu Ming took out his phone and started checking the undead teammates he could summon. He found that in addition to the five scoundrels of Atlas, there was one more person he could summon.

"Benjamin of Anor Londo: One of the Silver Knights of Anor Londo."

Because he discovered that Eldridge had devoured the Shadow Sun, he was pursued by the people of Sorcerer's Seal and had to flee the Silver Knights of Anor Londo.

Rating: Two stars.

Just as Lu Ming summoned Benjamin, the Silver Knight, Philna suddenly noticed that the text on the phone that Lu Ming gave to Sham, and Sham gave back to her, had suddenly changed from the text she couldn't understand to Miracatha's text. Moreover, the mission application was inexplicably enabled.

Even though it was just a dungeon quest with rewards of only gold and elemental bottle fragments, it still surprised her.

Seeing Lu Ming waiting by the extinguished campfire for a response from his undead teammates, Philner was momentarily unsure whether he should tell him and Sham.

"What's wrong?" Sham suddenly asked Philner, perhaps sensing something.

Biting his lip, Philna struggled internally for a while before picking up his phone, showing it to Sham, and saying, "The text on this thing has changed to Miracathian script, and there's also some kind of dungeon quest added."

Upon hearing this, Lu Ming immediately connected it to the fact that the deity who sent the message was the Grim Reaper. After frowning and thinking for a moment, he asked, "What is the reward?"

"One thousand gold coins and two fragments of the elemental bottle."

"You mean the fragments of the elemental bottle?"

"Yes!"

After learning that the reward for Philna's mission was a fragment of an elemental bottle, Lu Ming frowned and thought for a while before saying, "My dungeon mission requires killing three hundred ghost mages, and the reward is to re-enter a dungeon I've already completed."

"My mission is to defeat Westerd."

"It seems your mission will be adjusted based on the instance. In fact, this time the Grim Reaper seems to have put a little more effort into it compared to the previous two gods."

"Perhaps. But you'd better not speak ill of the gods!" Sham frowned and said angrily.

"Okay. I'll listen to you." Lu Ming smiled slightly, kissed Sham's cheek, and laughed.

A minute later, Benjamin accepted Lu Ming's invitation and arrived at the Temple of the Undead.

Seeing the undead clad in silver knight armor and wielding a dragon-slaying bow, Lu Ming and the others first introduced themselves. Then, Benjamin, who was incredulous that Lu Ming came from Irithyll, lit the campfire in front of them, and they prepared to set off.

"I, Benjamin, may not be good at much else, but my archery skills are definitely among the best of the Silver Knights. I even followed King Gwyn and hunted ancient dragons together back in the day. It's a pity that the royal family has fallen now."

"Yes! The royal family, the Four Horsemen, and the Silver Knights—just thinking about them makes one yearn for them. It's a pity that now... never mind, let's not talk about that. Let's start conquering this place!" After exchanging a few lies with Benjamin, Lu Ming led the way into the Undead Necropolis.

At first, Lu Ming and his companions encountered two knights wielding long spears and a warrior carrying two large shields. Lu Ming's method of dealing with them was to use righteous poison arrows.

Each man was pierced by four poisoned arrows, and they were naturally poisoned to death. Their armor, weapons, and shields were also looted by Sham and Philna.

Besides the three knights whose purpose was completely unknown, Lu Ming and his group also encountered a completely harmless wandering spirit. Moreover, this wandering spirit foolishly followed behind them, using a torch to light their way, which couldn't be more helpful.

However, Lu Ming was wary of it. After having Sham and Philner carry weapons and be cautious of this non-aggressive wandering spirit, he and Benjamin chose to go ahead and scout the way first.

Then they were attacked by a large group of wandering spirits and two dark sorcerers. But under the onslaught of Lu Ming and Benjamin's magic and arrows, these wandering spirits and dark sorcerers all died obediently.

They picked up the magic wands from the two female dark sorcerers, put them into their phones, and then continued to probe forward.

They had only walked a short distance when they heard someone say to them, "Humans, remember not to turn on any light source!"

Instantly, Lu Ming understood the wandering spirit's intentions. It was trying to use someone else to do its dirty work!

Without saying a word, Lu Ming went back and backstabbed the wandering soul to death.

Then Lu Ming and his three companions found the person who had spoken on a platform at the top of a staircase at a corner, and killed three bastards who were wielding curved knives and looking for death.

After some conversation, the gravedigger named Agdran inexplicably gave Lu Ming two magic scrolls and offered to sell some magic and arrows to Lu Ming and his companions, but the currency was souls.

"You mean, my body is also absorbing the souls of those undead?" During the conversation, Agdran reminded Lu Ming that among the four of them, Benjamin wasn't the only undead with a large number of souls; Lu Ming himself also possessed a large number of souls, he just didn't know it. This startled Lu Ming, but he quickly understood.

"Yes!"

After thinking silently for a while, Lu Ming bought three sets of miracles, magic, and spells that he could buy in Agardran, except for the Vortex Soul Block that he had already given to Lu Ming.

The magic, miracle, and spell that Lu Ming purchased were Soul Gun, Soul Suppression, and Warm Fire, respectively. Aside from one set for the three undead in his family, Lu Ming planned to use two of each for his own research.

"Remember, do not turn on any light sources!" Just as Lu Ming and the others were preparing to continue their dungeon run, Agardran suddenly reminded them once again.

"Understood!" With a wave of his hand, Lu Ming and the others continued their journey.

After leaving the room where Agdran was, Lu Ming and the others first found a treasure chest containing embers and a strange book at the top of a ladder on the right, and then found a corpse dressed in black at the bottom of the ladder.

Lu Ming picked up the longsword from the corpse's hand and handed it to Philner.

Since she hadn't hidden the changes to her phone, and Sham wanted to give her another chance, Lu Ming felt he had to offer her some encouragement. And this Hyde Longsword, which somehow ended up in the Undead Temple, was actually a pretty good weapon. At least it did more damage to the monsters in the Undead Temple than the Pope Knight's Curved Sword!

Following the main road, Lu Ming and the others soon arrived at a place full of piles of stones.

After eliminating a female dark mage hiding on the second-floor platform, Lu Ming and his group began to inhumanely ravage a mage statue next to the ladder leading to the platform where the female dark mage was located.

When the bell in the hand of the stone statue next to it rings, a ghostly mage wearing a robe, holding a magic sword and a shield that can deflect magic will be generated in the mage statue.

"The hundredth!" After each ghost was killed, Lu Ming and Sham would hide on either side of the mage statue, then have Philna and Benjamin ring the bells in the hands of the other statues. Then, the moment the ghost mage appeared, they would use a double-edged sword piercing technique, killing the ghost mage instantly.

Using this tactic, Lu Ming and his group killed a hundred ghost mages here, acquiring ninety-eight magic straight swords named Blue Flame and more than seventy shields.

But when the hundredth ghost mage died, the mage statue inexplicably shattered, forcing Lu Ming and the others to continue forward.

However, these ninety-odd weapons directly solved the weapon problem for the Viscount's Guard that Odysseus would be forming in the future, saving the territory a large amount of money.
