"I'll give my regards to Count Laques!" Patting Radman's face, Lothric and Lu Ming left Radman's house. The deep black mud, having feasted, returned to Lu Ming's shadow.
Meanwhile, after resting for a midday, Grand Duke Rael summoned Viscount Ozmoz to the estate of Count Phoenix Aimon.
"You must already know about Count Fernard Ozmoz, right?" Sitting on the bed, pale-faced Rells looked at the somewhat nervous old Ozmoz.
“Yes, Your Grace.” Viscount Ozmoz nodded.
"I want her dead, you have no objection, right?" After thinking for a moment, Grand Duke Rael asked directly.
Faced with Grand Duke Rael's almost heartless question, old Ozmoz thought of his two children still in a noble school and said helplessly and sadly, "No..."
"Excellent! As long as Lu Ming takes back the emblem from that bastard Philna, I can kill that power-hungry bastard without hesitation!"
"This..." Count Phoenix Aymon hesitated for a moment. While Philner's actions today—which could almost be considered betrayal of her fiancé—might lead Lu Ming to immediately revoke the Silver Biting Wolf Crest, it wasn't necessarily going to happen. Was it really a good idea for the Grand Duke to let old Ozmoz know and make a decision now?
However, he never expected that Rells' next words would surprise both him and old Ozmoz!
"I remember Viscount Ozmoz has a daughter, don't you? I'd like her to marry me! I'm sure you two would both agree, right?"
"So, to prevent the Wolf of the Sword from refusing to reclaim its crest, they intend to use this kinship to turn the Ozmoz sisters against each other? What a clever scheme!" Count Phoenix Amon, having figured this out, said with a smile, "Of course I have no problem with it. There won't be any objections in the family. Please rest assured, Your Excellency!"
On the other side, old Ozmoz closed his eyes and pondered for a long time before finally saying, as if deflated, "Of course I agree..."
"Very good. In a couple of days, have your daughter come to the Grand Duke's mansion!"
"Yes, Your Excellency." Because his youngest daughter was more than seven years older than Rael, old Ozmoz couldn't help but worry about her future. But he had no other choice, since his daughter Philna had done too many wrong things in the past three months.
Looking at old Ozmoz, whose face had become somewhat haggard after agreeing to his request, Rells imagined what kind of person Philner's sister would be. Ideally, she would know some martial arts, so she wouldn't end up like Phoenix Amon's granddaughter, helpless when the assassin injected the blood of the Old Gods into his body. (To be continued.)
Chapter 8 - Demon King
Night. Lu Ming and Lothric sneaked into Count Antu Laques's mansion.
To their surprise, the Earl's mansion had fewer than ten servants, as if it were done on purpose to prevent some secret from being leaked.
This bizarre behavior made Lu Ming and Lothric both wonder about Count Antu Laques's motives.
Could it be that there's something hidden in this count's mansion that he can't let others know?
With their hearts filled with worry, the two walked through the Earl's mansion and soon came to a fork in the road.
"Lothric, you go to the right, I'll go to the left." Looking at the two paths in front of him, Lu Ming thought for a moment, then pointed to the right path and said to Lothric.
“Okay.” After looking at the pitch-black sides, Lothric nodded and stepped onto the right-hand path.
After Lothric entered the right-hand path, Lu Ming also stepped onto the right-hand path.
"Do you really think this is the right thing to do?" After taking only a few steps, a whispered voice suddenly rang in Lu Ming's ear.
I stopped and looked around, only to find that there was no one else around.
"Playing tricks." Ignoring the whisper, Lu Ming continued forward.
But the whispered words rang in my ears once more: "Do you really think that what you think is right?"
"Do you really believe you're helping Mirakessa?"
Do you really think you're a hero?
"A little trick." He drew Irithyll's straight sword and cleaved a painting on the wall in two with a single stroke, and the whispers vanished instantly.
"It seems there really is something on this road."
-----------------------------------
Do you think that the magic of this world can make you stand up and walk, and that you can find happiness in this world?
"Do you really think you can escape the fate of becoming the Lord of Cinder?"
No! You are nothing!
"A special magical device? Lu Ming should have discovered it immediately, right?" Looking at the strange oil painting hanging on the wall, Lothric frowned, muttered a few words, then drew his longsword and cleaved the painting in two.
"To have my mind disturbed by something like this, I really am weak! If only my brother had listened to me and come here." With a slight sigh, Lothric continued exploring the path.
Looking at the long corridor and the oil paintings on the walls that had been enchanted, Lothric quickened his pace and swiftly destroyed all of them.
But just as he was about to reach the end of the corridor, he suddenly saw a little girl in a red dress.
Her face was horribly pale, her eyes were red, and bloody tears were constantly streaming down her face.
"Who are you? Are you here to play with me?" Silverbell's voice revealed an unimaginable coldness that sent chills down Lothric's spine.
"A ghost bound by magic? That Antu Laques!" As a mage, dealing with such a ghost would be quite simple for Lothric. But this ghost looked only four or five years old, and it was clearly being brutally murdered here as a magical guard. This reminded Lothric of his younger brother, who had been used for experiments by the demon king Oceloes, and he hesitated to act immediately.
-----------------------------------
"A ghost?" Standing in the middle of the corridor, Lu Ming looked at the little girl in red in front of him and hesitated to make a move.
This was the first time he had ever seen such a bizarre thing as a ghost in another world. If the two in his dream counted, this would be the third ghost he had actually seen. But the two in his dream were, after all, things from a dream, not from the real world.
"Who are you? Are you here to play with me?"
"Yes? I've come to play with you. But why are we here?" Lu Ming didn't have the powerful magic of Lothric, but he could guess what the child had gone through, so he didn't attack immediately.
"How about we play hide-and-seek? If you find me, I'll let you pass!"
"What should we do if we can't find it?"
"Then stay here and play with me forever!"
Upon hearing this, Lu Ming laughed and shook his head, saying, "Wouldn't that be too much of a loss for me? How about this, I win, you let me pass, and you have to stay inside my sword."
The little girl tilted her head and asked, "Can I go out now?"
"Of course. Now you can go outside and play!" Lu Ming reached out and touched the head of the little girl ghost, whose skin felt cold to the touch, and smiled.
Upon hearing this, the little ghost girl immediately smiled happily and said, "Then let's get started!"
-----------------------------------
Lothric touched the longsword in his hand, which had become exceptionally sturdy and sharp because it housed a ghost, and said with a smile, "From now on, you'll have someone to keep you company more often, Mia."
"Ok!"
After receiving a response, Lothric sheathed his longsword, then grasped the handle of the door at the end of the corridor and pushed it open.
"Wah~!! Wah~!! Wah..." As soon as he pushed open the door, the sound of a baby crying reached Lothric's ears, startling him.
"Old monster, when did you get here?!" Lothric roared furiously, staring at the enormous, scaleless, humanoid dragon-like monster that seemed to be holding something in the huge room.
"My son, when did you arrive here?" Turning around step by step, the Demon King Ocelotius smiled coldly at Lothric with a distorted face.
"My affairs are none of your business! You old monster who ate my brother for power!" Rage almost made Lothric lose his mind, but he still raised his hand and fired a light-attribute magic gun.
"Ocelot will become the son of the dragon, far surpassing you and your foolish brother!" The demon king Ocelot shattered Lothric's magic spear with a single claw, then roared, "He will be crowned king! And you will be burned alive!!"
"He's dead!!" In response, Lothric unleashed another barrage of spells, attempting to annihilate the monster Ocelotus in one fell swoop.
Unfortunately, all his magic was eroded by Ocelotus's sudden burst of crystalline breath, and not a single spell hit Ocelotus.
"Is that all? It seems that even here, you are unimaginably weak, my son!" Laughing, the Demon King, holding the non-existent Oselot, uttered a very irritating mockery to Lothric.
'My magic isn't as varied as Miracatha's, and I'm struggling even with the old monster. What should I do to defeat it?'
Just as Lothric was pondering, the Demon King Ocelotus was no longer willing to passively endure the attack. So, without hesitation, it charged at Lothric, intending to kill him in one blow.
However, Lothric was no ordinary man. With a single teleport, he easily dodged the Demon King's attack and seized the opportunity to fire a magic gun, striking the Demon King squarely in the back.
However, this powerful magic gun shot caused negligible damage to the Demon King, leaving only a slight scratch on his back.
"You're too weak!" The Demon King slowly turned around and sneered.
"Damn old monster!" Lothric glared at the Demon King through gritted teeth, finding himself in a predicament.
"Now let me prepare for my son Othelot the Lord of Cinder that will be needed for his coronation!"
As it walked step by step toward Lothric, large amounts of crystals began to grow at its feet and spread outwards.
In just a few seconds, a large amount of crystals covered the entire room.
"What exactly have you been researching with this magic?" Lothric's expression slowly turned grim as he looked at the increasing number of crystals around him.
"It's nothing much, we just found a crystal behemoth here!"
"Damn it!" Realizing his magic couldn't seriously injure the Demon King, Lothric was quickly pushed back. Weak and sickly, he was in no condition to fight the Demon King hand-to-hand with his longsword. At that moment, he couldn't help but envy Lu Ming, Dahl, and the others for their strong physiques.
Why does he, who is about to become the Lord of Cinder, have a body far less powerful than other Lords of Cinder?
But just as the Demon King was about to reach Lothric and cast a spell to imprison him, a figure suddenly walked in through the door behind the Demon King.
"What a pity! Old monster!" A smile appeared on Lothric's face as he saw the man leap up.
"What... Ahhh!!!" Before the demon king could react, a giant sword burning with the flames of sin pierced through its body from behind, pinning it to the ground.
Hearing the demon king's screams, the man injected a syringe full of the blood of the ancient gods obtained from his prey into the demon king's body before it could struggle to throw him off.
Instantly, the Demon King began to wail in agony as the flames of sin burned within him.
However, at this moment, the Demon King struggled and grabbed the man, throwing him away.
He crashed heavily into a large patch of crystals, leaving many cuts on his body. When he crawled out of the crystals, he was covered in blood.
But with the help of a bottle of elemental essence, Lu Ming's wounds were quickly healed.
"What's over there?" Lothric glanced at the Demon King struggling to pull the Greatsword of Sin from his body, screaming in pain as large amounts of blood gushed from the wound. He then looked at Lu Ming.
"The sage is currently studying the fusion of the blood of the Old Gods and the crystal magic of the White Dragon Sith." Taking out the Aries Staff from his phone, Lu Ming cleared away the surrounding crystals with the Farron Rapier as he answered Lothric.
"Is that so? It seems our Earl Antu Laques hasn't given up on blood therapy after all!"
“Strictly speaking, we (hunters) haven’t given up on blood healing either. It’s just that we are thousands of times more meticulous than them.” As Lu Ming walked step by step to Lothric’s side, he kept a wary eye on the Demon King and spoke to Lothric.
"So, it seems both the hunters and the Church of Light are researching the blood of the Old Gods?"
"That's right!"
Just as Lu Ming and Lothric were chatting casually, a portal suddenly appeared behind the Demon King Ocelotus!
"Do you think you can kill all the monarchs of Lothric this way?"
Upon seeing this, Lu Ming and Lothric immediately rushed towards the Demon King, wanting to kill it before it could escape.
Unfortunately, they were a step too late.
"Remember, I, Oceloes, will return with my son, the Dragon Prince Oselot! At that time, you and this country will be mine!"
The Demon King Ocelotius, holding Ocelot in his arms, disappeared into the portal, leaving behind two harsh words before vanishing.
