Make Azeroth breathtaking

“I have arranged for horns to be sounded in all the dens. The druids have awakened from their slumber, and their power can help us better resist the Legion’s invasion.”
Cenarius's voice traveled through the trees to Tyrande's ears. The moment a look of surprise appeared on Tyrande's face, a giant raven flew into the room that Tyrande was using as a command center and transformed back into human form in the blink of an eye.
"Mafia! My beloved!"
Tyrande embraced Malfurion tightly, and Malfurion also embraced Tyrande, enjoying this reunion after a thousand years.
After a long while, the two separated and smiled at each other. At that very moment, Cenarius's voice rang out at just the right time.
“Mafiario, my student, there will be plenty of time for reminiscing later. Right now, our priority is to stop the Legion’s vanguard from advancing any further—and to find out which ‘old friend’ has come this time.”
51. The bombarded mixed forces
While Tichondrius and Mannoroth led the mixed forces of demonic orcs and the Scourge on a rapid march, Tanis and her two companions led a special mixed force that "squeezed" out of the Stonetalon Mountains and set foot on the land of Ashenvale.
As soon as Thrall entered Ashenvale, he covered his ears. As a highly talented shaman, he could clearly hear the wails of the elemental spirits of Ashenvale, which made him slightly agitated. The rising smoke in the distance clearly told him that Grom was very likely already at war with the night elves.
"I sensed extremely powerful magical energy fluctuations over there, and it felt very familiar to me."
Jaina's expression wasn't too good either. After entering Ashenvale, she inexplicably became irritable, as if something was about to happen.
"Don't we need to resupply? I estimate that if we head in that direction, we'll make contact with the enemy's outer perimeter in half a day at most."
Tanis held up a bottle of water and gulped it down.
"We have enough energy. Now, we need to move fast."
Sal took a deep breath and calmed himself down.
“Sarl is right, we have no time to waste.”
Suppressing her inner unease, Jaina climbed onto Tannis's motorcycle, took out a spell crystal, and quietly began to meditate. Clearly, she was preparing to forcibly overdraw her mental energy to face the impending battle.
"Alright... since you've all said so."
Tennys shrugged and started the engine.
Let's go!
————————————Ashvalanche, Battlefield——————————————————
"He! He! He!!!!"
Beneath the towering tree-lined walls, the demonized orcs, completely consumed by bloodlust, braved the localized storms and howls, roaring indiscriminate battle cries and wildly waving their weapons. They followed their master, the Abyss Lord Mannoroth, in launching one fearless charge after another against the walls. However, with each charge, they were forced back by a hail of arrows from the night elves.
"They've grown so much in ten thousand years!"
Knowing full well that the localized storm was a magical effect, Mannoroth plunged his spear deep into the earth of Ashenvale. His eyes, blazing with demonic fire, stared at the night elves blocking his counterattack from the high tree walls, his nostrils flaring with fury.
“You don’t think our old adversary will stand still, do you? Ten thousand years ago, you were almost sent back to the Twisting Nether.”
"Roar!!!"
Provoked by Tichondrius, Mannoroth raised his spear and unleashed a shadow shockwave burning with evil flames. The shockwave then struck the tree-lined city walls and was absorbed as if it had vanished into thin air.
"Don't waste your energy, Manolos. Unless you can withstand this raging natural force and destroy the entire forest within a hundred miles in ten seconds, you will never be able to break through this wall!"
Malfurion stood on the oak-forged city wall, shouting at the great demon not far away. He had already recognized this great demon, the one who had invaded Azeroth ten thousand years ago!
Before Mannoroth could angrily unleash a loving attack on Malfurion, Tichondrius's laughter reached the ears of everyone present.
"Hahahaha! How interesting, so very interesting! You actually exposed the weaknesses in your defenses! It seems that ten thousand years haven't improved your strategic skills much..."
As he said this, Tichondrius waved to Arthas, who had been standing still beside him, and then looked at Mannoroth with a smile.
"Arthas, lead your legion and destroy the surrounding forests! If one day isn't enough, two days; if two days aren't enough, three days! Mannoroth, continue the attack from the city walls. Don't let the night elves interfere with the Scourge's work!"
"Are you ordering me around, Tichondrius?"
Manolos snorted.
"This is for Lord Archimonde, Mannoroth."
Tichondrius was all smiles.
———————————————Strange dividing line————————————————————
"...That...that is...that is......."
Through the high-powered telescope provided by Tannis, Jaina covered her mouth with trembling hands. Although Arthas's temperament had changed drastically and his appearance was no longer the same, Jaina still recognized her former lover at a glance.
"Grom...he and his Warsong clan have gone completely mad...I seriously doubt we can save him..."
Sal also put down his binoculars, his tone heavy.
"Dalaran has conducted some experiments before. If the Grom you mentioned still retains a sliver of consciousness, I might be able to give him a little time to recover."
When Jaina said those words, her tone was somewhat unsteady. Grom might still be saved, but what about Arthas? Slaughtering cities, killing his father, destroying his kingdom, desecrating corpses, summoning demons… could someone who had done so much still be redeemed? No, rather, even if he were redeemed, could he ever return to what he was before?
"They seem to be splitting their forces; it appears they have found a way to destroy that wall."
Tanis's voice pulled Jaina back to reality. Beneath the city walls, Tichondrius seemed to have reached an agreement with Mannoroth and was beginning to lead the Scourge away.
Tanya turned to look at Jaina, who understood her meaning and nodded slightly. Thrall hesitated for a second before nodding heavily in agreement.
"Then, quantum bomb, begin the countdown to delivery..."
Finally able to use some interesting gadgets, Tannis pressed her engineering glasses, locked onto the central area of the mixed forces, and after confirming that the explosion range would not affect the Night Elf walls, she pressed the button heavily.
"Quantum bomb, deploy!"
——————————————Under the city wall——————————————
"Cough...cough..."
Arthas, holding Frostmourne, coughed lightly. The sudden burst of powerful energy had left him dazed and disoriented, tearing apart several layers of his defenses. Tichondrius stood beside him, holding up a shadow shield, his face deathly pale.
That attack just now caused the Scourge to lose more than 50% of its forces on the battlefield, and his plan was ruined once again.
"What is this...?"
Grom leaned on Bloodhowl, breathing heavily. He was positioned right behind Mannoroth, so most of the shockwave was blocked by the Abyss Lord, and he wasn't seriously injured. Mannoroth, on the other hand, was unharmed, but he was still furious that the Quantum Bomb had rendered most of the demonized orcs incapable of fighting.
"Let's retreat, Manolos. We don't have many troops left, and we can't take this wall."
Tichondrius removed the protective shield, and Manolos snorted in dissatisfaction.
The next second, all the demonized orcs present—whether dead or alive, as well as Tichondrius and the Scourge—vanished in the light of the teleportation array.
52. Divide the troops
"Warchief of the Orcish Horde, the Shaman Thrall."
"Jaina, the mage and leader of the Human Alliance exiles."
"Tannis, the tinkerer and vice-commander of Ratchet City, and vice-president of the Tinkerers' Guild."
"Cenarion Council, Archdruid Malfurion."
After Tichondrius chose to retreat, Malfurion, at Cenarius's behest, invited Tannis and the other two into the defensive line and questioned them in detail about the information they knew.
The more Malfurion learned, the more alarmed he became.
"First, the Burning Legion enslaved the orcs through intrigue, driving them to destroy their homeland. Then, they used the orcs as tools to invade the world of Azeroth. After the orc invasion plot failed, they patiently prepared for decades, spreading a deadly plague into the human kingdoms, turning humans into undead who desecrated nature, and into the Legion's complete lackeys."
"This tactic of standing behind the scenes and treating everything as pawns is Kil'jaeden's style."
Tyrande frowned. Although Kil'jaeden hadn't directly participated in many battles during the War of the Ancients, the Deceiver's vicious and deadly schemes had still left a deep impression on her.
"However, the commander-in-chief of this invading legion is Archimonde."
Malfurion tapped the table lightly, his tone extremely solemn. The fact that the two leaders of the Burning Legion had both shown signs of their presence meant that the intensity of this invasion was at least no less than that of ten thousand years ago!
"The only good news is that the power of the Well of Eternity beneath Nordrassil is insufficient to tear open a portal that spans time and space."
Tyrande's words made Malfurion sigh silently.
"Yes—but that doesn't mean its power isn't coveted by the Legion. I believe, given Archimonde's character, he'll stop at nothing to open a passage to Mount Hyjal in order to seize the power of the Well of Eternity for himself... Wait, there's news..."
A small bird flew into the conference room, landed on Malfurion's shoulder, and started chirping at him. As the bird chirped, Malfurion's expression grew increasingly angry.
"what happened?"
Seeing Malfurion's expression, Tyrande knew something serious had happened and hurriedly asked what was wrong.
"The Burning Legion is desecrating the land of Felwood! If we allow them to succeed, our defenses will be severed in the middle!"
"We're short-handed, Malfurion. Even with these outsiders, we can barely keep the Ashenvale defenses from collapsing. Perhaps..."
Tyrande hesitated for a moment.
“Speak, Tyrande, let’s see if we’re on the same page.”
Malfurion's face showed a mixture of helplessness, reminiscence, anger, and warmth.
"We should release Illidan. After ten thousand years of imprisonment, he may have calmed down."
"Let's do it this way... Tyrande... I'll lead the druid legion to hunt down Mannoroth and his evil demon-blooded creatures. You go and contact the Watchers."
Just as Malfurion was about to stand up, Thrall spoke in a deep voice.
"High Druid, could you entrust us with the task of killing Mannoroth?"
"Do you know what you're about to face? Orcs?"
"I know."
“Then I will tell you where Mannoroth is hiding, and I hope you will return victorious.”
Malfurion sensed the determination in Thrall's tone and, without saying a word, raised his hand and drew a map of Ashenvale. In a certain area on the map, a patch of dark red was incredibly vibrant.
————————————————A few minutes later————————————————————
“Jaina, Tanya, you didn’t need to come along.”
Thrall rode on his warg, watching Tanyas riding a motorcycle beside him, and Jaina sitting on the motorcycle preparing her spells. His personal guard followed closely behind them on their rapid march.
"I promised to help you lift Grom's curse, how can I not come along?"
"Madwin's request is clearly that I become your bodyguard, and I don't want to get scammed."
