Next, the zombies easily entered the department store. Kennedy was unable to force the iron gate shut, so the zombies' arrival at the department store was inevitable. Thus, the zombies officially stormed into the mall, leaving everyone with no other choice but to implement another plan: escape by bus to the island's dock. Even without a detailed plan, there was no time to consider such details.
"We need to go all out later, otherwise we'll be wiped out by so many zombies," the Punisher said to Doctor Doom from inside the car.
“Of course, I can. I’ve already absorbed the surrounding area, lots of lightning,” Victor said confidently, showing his confidence in his superpowers.
Michael, Anna, Nicole, CJ, the Punisher, Doctor Doom, and Chips got into the car in front, with Michael driving.
Kenneth, Terry, Steve, Glenn, and Monica got into the car behind, with Kenneth driving.
Boom boom boom—
The modified bus roared through the garage door, beginning its final escape. The Marvel universe also began its first baptism by a virus. (To be continued...)

Chapter 210 Dawn Battle
“Mr. Victor, I’ll need your superpowers for a bit. We’ll part ways after we leave. I promise to only report on the zombie situation here. I already know the virus originated from Hydra.” The Punisher spoke earnestly and quietly to the Punisher in the car.
"I understand, leave it to me." Victor nodded to the Punisher, but in his mind he was thinking about how to take out the others.
The Punisher also has a trump card that can harm him, so Victor will not attack him for the time being. Survivor Victor thinks it is better to leave the Punisher alive, as the other survivors who know about this place will disappear.
The modified bus, running at full speed, crushed countless zombies, but due to insufficient power, it became stuck in the plaza. Over a thousand zombies in the plaza, upon spotting living people, quickly swarmed over, blocking all remaining escape routes.
"Bang bang bang!" Seeing the danger, the Punisher took out his assault rifle and fired continuously at the large horde of zombies outside.
"Damn it." CJ and Kennedy cursed at the horrific scene outside, while the others fired their weapons in response.
"Doctor Doom, it's up to you now." The Punisher knew that there were too many zombies outside to kill them all, so he said nervously to Victor, who was watching the show from the sidelines.
"Understood, watch me." Victor said earnestly, showing his understanding.
"CJ, return the gas canister," the Punisher commanded CJ simultaneously.
"Understood." After saying that, CJ picked up a gas cylinder, climbed up through the ventilation opening of the modified bus, and threw it hard towards the front of the bus, knocking down an unlucky zombie.
After CJ threw down the gas canister, Victor walked to the ventilation shaft and saw the horde of zombies outside. Victor showed no fear, seemingly indifferent to the danger. Just then, a zombie that appeared to possess human consciousness raised the gas canister, surprising Doctor Doom.
"Was he a mutant? It's a pity he couldn't resist the virus either," Victor muttered to himself, seemingly feeling sorry for the mutant.
Taking advantage of the moment, Victor unleashed a highly compressed bolt of lightning, striking the gas canister in the mutant zombie's hand. The gas canister then exploded with a deafening roar. The powerful shockwave instantly annihilated almost all the surrounding zombies, and nearby zombies were blown away by the blast, opening up a path for them to advance.
"Now's the time, charge!" Victor, unaffected by the shockwave from the gas cylinder, returned to the modified bus and immediately shouted to Myer, who was driving. Michael didn't hesitate and immediately went full throttle.
Following Steve's directions, they encountered few more dangers along the way. Essentially, everyone was finally safe.
After passing through the iron gate, there were no problems with Doctor Doom and Punisher's vehicle. However, Kenneth later discovered a zombie hanging on the right side of the rear of the vehicle and tried to shake it off. Father Glenn, who had been doing nothing until now, offered to help and started a chainsaw that he had prepared beforehand, without Kenneth noticing.
At that moment, the car in front suddenly swerved sharply to the right. Kenneth, trying to shake off the zombies behind him, was on the fast-moving modified bus. The sudden sharp turn caused the entire bus to lose its balance. The priest, who was defenseless, lost his footing, and the chainsaw he was holding struck Monica squarely in the left shoulder, instantly rendering her unable to fight.
At the same time, the bus overturned due to the sharp turn. The priest died from being crushed by the twisted seat, and the others were knocked unconscious by the powerful shock of the overturn. Only a few survived.
Steve woke up first, pushed open the car door, and climbed out. Before he could react, the zombie hanging from the car jumped down and bit him to death. Then CJ rescued Kennedy.
Steve eventually turned into a zombie, just like in the movie. Anna pulled out a pistol and said to the zombie Steve, "I mean what I say." Then, Anna shot Steve in the head with the pistol.
"Quick, come here, Anna!" Michael shouted to Anna.
"The boat key." Anna heard Michael's words and was about to leave when she suddenly remembered that Steve had the key to the small boat at the island's dock.
After Anna received the boat key, she didn't notice that countless zombies were charging at her from behind. Michael became very nervous after realizing Anna was in danger. Perhaps it was Anna's luck, but under the cover of the Punisher's metal storm and Victor's lightning, she escaped the zombies and returned to the Punisher and Doctor Doom's car.
"Anna, where did Steve go?" Michael asked Anna after she returned.
"He's turned into a zombie. I got the key back." Anna took out the key and smiled at Michael beside her.
Michael said that the key was still the yacht key on Steve's body, otherwise they wouldn't be able to leave the island dock. Anna was lucky enough to get the key from Steve, but in order to save her, Michael didn't tell Anna that he had been bitten by a zombie. He didn't want to tell Anna because she had turned him into a zombie.
Twenty minutes later, the bus arrived safely at the island's pier. During this time, Punisher and Victor, with their clear division of labor, worked together to eliminate some of the zombies blocking the way. This allowed the rest of the group to rest, as these two were stronger than the others.
The bus successfully arrived at the dock, and CJ discovered that no one was willing to cover the retreat, and all the zombies on the island had been lured to the dock.
CJ can be considered a hero among the survivors. He had already considered detonating the gas canisters to take down countless zombies with him, but after CJ expressed his idea, the others decided to let him stay behind to cover their retreat, given the circumstances.
The bus stopped, and the Punisher suddenly grabbed CJ and said, "Be careful, come back alive."
CJ heard what the Punisher said, understood what the Punisher meant, nodded, and the rest of the group ran towards the yacht at the bridgehead.
CJ returned to the carriage and retrieved what he wanted. Just as he was about to leave, he found the door blocked, and he began to fight back.
"Fuck." CJ saw the zombies approaching and kept firing to protect himself from being bitten. However, CJ knew he was about to die, so he chose to fight until he lost consciousness.
CJ kept shooting down the zombies that were falling in, feeling increasingly anxious. His pistol was almost out of bullets, and he said helplessly, "Damn it."
CJ wasn't afraid. Instead, he grabbed the car door and trapped himself inside. At that moment, the zombies rushed up, blocking his last escape route.
"This is the last thing I can do." CJ lit a cigarette, ignoring the pain of the zombie biting him, and loaded his last pistol magazine.
However, the onrushing zombies didn't give him much time to think, even as they pounced on him. But he remained undaunted; he had already decided to sacrifice himself.
CJ said calmly, almost to himself, "I'll blow all of you bastards to bits." With that, CJ fired a shot at the gas cylinder—the last thing a person could do. (To be continued...)
Chapter 211 T-Virus Spread
"Bang!" As if a scene from the Road to Survival had been repeated, the gas cylinder exploded again, and the powerful blast wave made Kennedy and the others at the bridgehead feel a strong heat wave as well.
“A perfect rearguard action.” Kennedy placed his hand on his chest in prayer for CJ.
"We're finally back alive! We need to report what happened here to Umbrella," Anna suddenly remembered something and excitedly told everyone.
"No, I'm not leaving." Michael suddenly said to the excited crowd, then untied the ropes, allowing the yacht to move.
“She was bitten in the city.” Michael shook his head at Anna, indicating that she should give up on him.
“No, Umbrella Corporation might be able to save you,” Anna said to Michael, clinging to a sliver of hope.
“No, no one can save me now, and most importantly, I want the virus to stay here, so that the rest of the world doesn’t become like that.” Michael pulled out his pistol and pointed it at his head.
"Live well, Anna." After Michael finished speaking, You Ting had already left. Although most people felt some regret about what happened to Michael, most of them showed a hint of joy at surviving.
"Goodbye, Michael," Anna said sadly after she could no longer see Michael.
“Death may not be so terrible.” Michael smiled, showing no fear of death, but only feeling the warmth of the dawn sunlight, and smiled solemnly.
"Do you think you're safe now?" Victor suddenly revealed a cold smile as he looked at Anna, Kennedy, and Terry, the survivors.
“Dr. Doom, we’re safe now. Once we find the Umbrella Corporation, we’re safe,” Anna said reassuringly to Victor, thinking he was worried about their safety.
"No. That's not right, you're no longer of any use to me." Viktor's body emitted a strong electric current.
“Frank, or rather, Mr. Punisher. Remember what you said.” Victor said disdainfully to the Punisher as he saw him raise his weapon.
"I understand." The Punisher handed over his weapon. He closed his eyes and said nothing more. The fate of the survivors here was already sealed; they were no longer of any use.
Since the Arklay Mountains incident, Zhang Zhongyi has started a new life due to his outstanding performance. However, due to personnel changes at Umbrella, Zhang Zhongyi is temporarily free of work and is enjoying a comfortable life in a bar in Raccoon City.
After dealing with those people, Victor arrived near Raccoon City, Tokyo. Tang Tian severed ties with the past; everything began here, and the past could no longer affect him.
However, Raccoon City was experiencing a surge in mysterious murders. The streets of Tokyo were nearly deserted, with only a few Raccoon City Police Department officers patrolling. The occasional distant sirens and sporadic gunshots mingled with the cawing of crows in the evening sky. This proved that the spread of the T-virus was only a matter of time; nothing could stop it, and everything was now just a matter of time.
The bar where Zhang Zhongyi was located wasn't very big, and the decor wasn't particularly fancy. Two old ceiling fans swayed precariously from the ceiling, seemingly about to fall. The fan blades were clean, clearly having been carefully maintained. Despite its age, the place was very popular.
“Hey bro, you’re here today. Look around, there’s hardly anyone on the street. Damn Marcus. But it’s because of them that it’s become like this.” Billy said loudly to Zhang Zhongyi from his chair.
"Oh, yeah. Everyone seems so anxious right now, I don't know how much longer this will last. I'm not in a good mood. Do you want to come grab a drink with me?" Zhang Zhongyi said to Billy casually.
“Go ahead and drink! I still have a mission. Speaking of which, I’ve been getting a lot of missions from Umbrella Corporation lately, as have Jill and Rebecca.” Billy shook his head and said helplessly. Then Billy left, since there was nothing else to do.
"Matt, get me a beer." Richard's deep voice came from outside the door.
At that moment, with the sound, Zhang Zhongyi turned around and saw a person wearing an Umbrella Corporation combat uniform push open the bar's wooden door.
Richard's attire was still easily recognizable, with a police badge bearing the word "stars" hanging on the back of his combat uniform. He walked into the room listlessly and sat down on a chair at the bar.
“Welcome, oh...it’s you, Richard. Long time no see. Want a beer?” Zhang Zhongyi looked up and saw Richard sit down, so he emptied a pitcher of beer from the beer barrel behind him and placed it in front of him.
Richard waited a moment, then picked up his glass and downed half of it before slamming it down on the table, making the neatly arranged glasses on the plate rattle. He then exhaled a breath of alcohol, his eyes reddening from drinking so quickly.
"Hehe, what's wrong? Still worrying about what happened to Stars in the Arklay Mountains last month? You haven't forgotten that terrifying thing, have you?" Zhang Zhongyi said seriously to Richard while drinking beer, "We should forget about it. Because of the T-virus leak, Umbrella has silenced quite a few people."
“Yes, you’re right. But I just don’t understand. Stars has done a lot of things, but they don’t have a complete solution.” Richard said helplessly to Zhang Zhongyi.
“Aren’t you still contributing to the company? But why do you seem uncomfortable now?” Zhang Zhongyi stopped drinking and looked at Richard with a puzzled expression.
“That’s right, that’s why I’m uncomfortable. The government has downgraded STERS’ weaponry and used the money to strengthen Raccoon City’s security forces. As a result, I might not even have the opportunity to contribute to the company.” Richard finished his drink and said.
"Sigh..." Zhang Zhongyi looked disappointed, but he knew the details of Umbrella Corporation.
“What’s most infuriating is that bastard Brian, who actually used the excuse of insufficient personnel to prepare to officially announce the disbandment of Stars. Fuck! He’s fucking insane! It must be the company that made him do it, otherwise, would he dare to do this? Does he even have the guts?! I never thought our status would decline like this.” Richard slammed his fist on the table and said weakly.
“Matt, look who this guy is? Doesn’t he look like a superhero?” Richard suddenly stopped talking, his eyes quickly scanning the area ahead, which puzzled Zhang Zhongyi.
"Maybe! There have been quite a few strange people coming here lately, and it's normal for them to be wearing metal masks," Zhang Zhongyi said casually, looking at Richard.
“It seems so,” Richard said definitively, ignoring Victor, who was wearing a green cloak and a metal mask.
“However, we still need to work hard and not let the company give up on us,” Richard said with great determination.
“I don’t know if it’s true or not, Brian’s words might just be a rumor! So don’t worry.” Zhang Zhongyi then looked up at the television on the top of the bar’s elevated structure.
Meanwhile, the television station was broadcasting interviews between Raccoon City reporters and the families of citizens who had disappeared due to mysterious murders.
"That's $20 in total, sir." As he left, the waiter greeted Zhang Zhongyi, the customer settling the bill, with a smile.
"Here's your tip," Zhang Zhongyi said.
"Thank you, sir," the waiter said happily.
"The cat-and-mouse game begins," Victor muttered to himself, a cold smile creeping across his face as he looked where Zhang Zhongyi had left. (To be continued...)

Chapter 212 Dark Clouds Gather
After escaping the island, Doctor Doom arrived at the location of Tang Tian's mission, a mission that proved easy for Victor. Meanwhile, Punisher, having narrowly escaped Doctor Doom's attack, went to a secluded spot in Tokyo and used a satellite phone to call Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Mr. Punisher, why haven't you contacted me during this time? You're in Tokyo now, right? Is there something that requires you to make this call?" Nick Fury, who was at S.H.I.E.L.D., was somewhat surprised by the Punisher's voice on the other end of the phone.
“Yes, something very bad has happened recently, which has kept me from contacting you. Here’s what happened: on a small island in the Greater Milwaukee area near Tokyo, there’s an outbreak that you may have provided. That’s why I haven’t been able to complete my mission for so long.” The Punisher, holding the phone, organized his thoughts and spoke. He knew this was something he had to say, because the crisis that could destroy all of humanity had to be known by S.H.I.E.L.D.
"What's wrong? I don't think you've gone to Raccoon City yet. Otherwise, you might have already come back, instead of still being in Tokyo." Nick Fury, the one-eyed man, looked puzzled. He never expected that the Punisher would call him only after being out of contact for half a month.
