The rain finally stopped.

Morales put down his binoculars, shrugged, and hesitated to speak.

“They’re going to abandon us!” Andrea suddenly said.

"What?" Jacques looked at Andrea in surprise, who was on the verge of tears.

Several people were plunged into despair, but reality held a different story; it was a glimmer of hope, a desperate struggle for survival. (To be continued...)

Chapter 183 Camp

"Have faith in your companions!" Jie Liang had arrived on the rooftop at some point; he was preparing to leave.

The others looked at Jie Liang, completely bewildered, except for Mo Er, who remained somewhat calm. Jie Liang calmly gave the order: "Pack your things! Prepare to leave!"

“What? Are you crazy? We’ve been abandoned! There are zombies everywhere outside, we’re doomed!” Andrea cried.

“They’re gone! Do you think they’ll come back? Was this part of your plan?” Jacques looked at Akira with hopeful eyes.

Faced with the devastated Andrea, and the suspicious looks from Morales and T-boy, Jie Liang decided to ignore them. Glenn would contact them via radio soon, and they would know what to do.

Jie Liang picked up the toolbox beside him and walked towards the exit first: "Come with me, Mo Er, let's wait downstairs first, so we don't get flustered later."

"Okay, boss!" Mo'er smiled and looked at the three dejected people, then followed Jie Liang downstairs with a smug look on his face.

T-Zai wanted to follow, but Jie Liang waved his hand and pointed to the walkie-talkie that T-Zai was holding.

The remaining three looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Meet us at the roller shutter door on the left side of the department store, we'll come pick you up there!" Just as the group was feeling heartbroken and desperate, Glenn's friendly voice finally came through T-boy's walkie-talkie.

"Oh, they're back to save us! Quick, quick, quick, let's go!" The four of them shouldered their packs and ran quickly toward the exit of the rooftop.

When they arrived at the roller shutter door, Jie Liang and Mo Er had been waiting for a long time.

"You two planned this all along, didn't you?" Andrea said to Suhe, displeased. "You should have told us!"

Akira looked at Andrea expressionlessly: "No one made any prior arrangements. It was an unexpected event. I just trusted my companion."

Andrea clearly didn't believe her. She looked at Akira with disgust.

Jie Liang shook his head and said, "You're different from everyone else. You're like a child who hasn't grown up, impulsive and never thinking, always self-centered, blindly judging others, opposing others, and creating doubt. You know you'll make everyone hate you if you act like that? Nobody owes you anything!"

Andrea's disgust deepened, and she said dismissively, "I don't need you to lecture me!" Akira ignored her. People like that are the most annoying.

Just then, a car alarm blared closer and closer. The men gripped the roller shutter door's chain tightly.

"What happened?" Andrea asked anxiously. But no one answered her.

"Bang! Crash!" The glass of the department store's second door shattered, and the zombies surged into the lobby, rushing towards where everyone was.

The sound of car brakes and engine roaring came from outside the roller shutter, followed by a knock on the shutter.

"Hurry! Open the door!" Several people pulled the chain together, but the roller shutter door paid no heed to their anxious hearts. It slowly rose upwards.

Jie Liang drew his gun, remaining alert. The space was cramped, and with his pistol rendered useless, he had to use the sniper rifle as a melee weapon, butt forward, keeping watch alongside Jie Liang.

The roller shutter door rose to a height of more than one person, and outside the door was a truck container with its doors already open, where Rick was waiting to receive them.

The group hurriedly tossed their bags onto the train and then quickly scrambled into the carriage. Jie Liang remained vigilant, keeping watch for the rear. Only after everyone was on board did he nimbly leap into the carriage.

At that moment, the walkers finally charged at him, and Rick slammed on the truck. As the truck accelerated, the walkers were already close to the cargo bed.

"Bang—!" Another rapid gunshot rang out, and Jie Liang instantly emptied his M9 ammo. The first fifteen zombies fell backward in unison, and the advance of the zombie horde was instantly halted.

Taking this opportunity, Morales and Morales lowered the carriage door together.

After the initial shock subsided, everyone sat in the carriage, panting and trying to calm their wildly beating hearts.

Jie Liang slowly took out the magazine of the M9 and loaded it with bullets one by one.

"Where's Glenn?" Andrea suddenly asked.

"Use the walkie-talkie to call him and confirm his location," Rick said somewhat unsurely, clearly too tense to remember Glenn.

"Glen, are you alright?" T-boy said into the walkie-talkie.

“Yes, I’m great! This car is absolutely fantastic! Absolutely wonderful!” Glenn said over the walkie-talkie, accompanied by the piercing sound of the car alarm.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and sat down to rest; the incredible experience had been far too thrilling.

Morales climbed into the passenger seat to guide Rick, and the two chatted quietly.

After a while, the continuous sound of the car alarm gradually grew louder from behind, and Glenn caught up in his supercar.

"Yoo-ho!" The red sports car sped past the truck, and Glenn stuck his hand out the window, waving and yelling.

The road ahead gradually became desolate, and the car had already entered the mountains. Glenn was in the lead and had already driven to the point of being almost out of sight.

Stones began to pile up on both sides of the road. A large pit, its surface shimmering, could be vaguely seen deep in the mountains.

“It’s an abandoned quarry, far from any human settlement, with water and various animals in the forest. That’s where we set up our camp,” Morales explained to Jie Liang and Rick.

After rounding a bend, a van was parked ahead, and Glenn's sports car was also there. Further ahead, a small campsite came into view.

Rick stopped the car, and Morales patted him on the shoulder, saying to Jie Liang and Rick, "Come and meet everyone!"

“Welcome to the survivors’ camp, boss!” Moore said excitedly to Jie Liang.

Everyone rushed out of the car, but Rick remained in the driver's seat, rubbing his head and looking heartbroken.

"What's wrong, Rick? Thinking about your wife and children?" Jie Liang said with a smile. "You might be reunited soon! If your family is still alive, there's a good chance they're here!"

Rick gave a perfunctory smile, got out of the car, and was clearly somewhat skeptical.

Everyone was busy celebrating their survival.

Andrea and her sister Amy embraced and wept. Morales' wife and two children greeted them joyfully.

"Karei! Rick! Say hello to everyone!" Morales called out to them.

Jie Liang led the way towards the group in the camp, with Moore and T-Zai following behind him, while Rick lagged behind, looking somewhat dejected.

Suddenly Rick's gaze froze. He stared blankly at a man, then noticed a mother and child beside him. He raised his hand as if to say something, but couldn't utter a word. He took a step back in disbelief, tears welling in his eyes.

"Daddy! Daddy!" A cute little boy ran over with a smile. Rick excitedly ran forward and hugged the boy in his arms.

The boy's mother, a beautiful woman, stared in disbelief as Rick carried the boy step by step towards her, finally bursting into tears. These two were undoubtedly Rick's wife and son.

The genuine emotions expressed during the family reunion also somewhat affected Akira's mood.

The man who had just made eye contact with Rick looked on in bewilderment, his joy tinged with disappointment.

He is Rick's friend and colleague, Shane, a tragic character. Although character determines fate, Shane's luck is indeed terrible.

He initially wanted to rescue Rick, but faced with the perilous situation, he lacked the confidence to escape with the unconscious Rick. So he abandoned Rick, assuming he wouldn't survive, and instead went to rescue Rick's wife and son, hoping to console Rick's spirit in heaven. He carefully protected Rick's wife and son, telling them that Rick was dead.

However, a series of unexpected events ultimately led to the two brothers, who had shared a life-or-death bond, turning against each other. It must be said, this is yet another heartbreaking tragedy. Sean is truly pitiful; in truth, he remains a great hero admired by many.

That night, everyone gathered around the fire, listening to Rick recount what had happened after he woke up. Throughout the story, Rick repeatedly mentioned Jie Liang, thanking him for saving him.

T introduced the people in the camp one by one: the kind old man Dale, Dale's friend - the mechanic Jim, Morales' family, and Andrea's sister.

In fact, Jieliang knew them all very well.

During the incident, Ed got into a minor argument with the flustered Sean because he had made the fire too big. In the end, Ed gave in and ordered his wife to turn the fire down. Sean, who couldn't stand it, apologized to Ed's wife and daughter, which made Ed secretly resentful.

Through the conflict, Jie Liang discovers that Shaun has a tacitly agreed-upon authority over the camp, and that Rick's rise to power in the original film was largely due to Shaun's guilty cooperation.

Therefore, Jie Liang decided that he must find an opportunity to have a good talk with Sean.

Late at night, Mor lent Daryl's bedding to Jie Liang, and together with T-Zai, they made a makeshift bed for Jie Liang in the truck bed. Even so, Jie Liang's life in The Walking Dead was still much better than Leon's in the Left 4 Dead world. (To be continued...)

Chapter 184 Daryl

Arriving at the camp, Akira didn't sleep well. It was only his second night in this world, yet so much had happened. He kept dreaming of a man in a suit speaking to him, something that seemed very important.

Before dawn, Jie Liang packed his things and left the truck. He happened to run into Dale on night watch.

"Why don't you sleep a little longer? You must be exhausted after a day of adventure," Dale said to Akira.

"May I say I want to see the sunrise?" Akira asked with a smile.

Dale raised an eyebrow and gave an understanding smile: "Were you thinking about your family? Many people are like you; losing loved ones isn't so easy to forget!"

Jie Liang knew that Dale had misunderstood. Although he didn't know why he had come here, it was definitely something important.

"And you? What about your family?" Jie Liang asked Dale tentatively.

“I am a man. My wife died of cancer!” Dale smiled wryly. “This RV is everything to me.”

As expected, Jie Liang heard this answer and then comforted Dale, saying, "Actually, being alone is quite good. At least you don't have to suffer the pain of losing loved ones unexpectedly."

Dell smiled forlornly and nodded, then said nothing more.

As dawn broke, everyone in the camp gradually got up.

The women gathered together to do laundry. Dale and Jim called Morales and T-boy over, planning to dismantle the sports car for parts. Glenn's objections were ignored.

Rick hadn't left the tent and seemed to be sleeping soundly. Sean, on the other hand, got up early and drove off to fetch water. Moore took over from Dale, standing guard on the roof of the vehicle.

No one seemed inclined to cook, and Jie Liang grimaced, looking miserable. Looks like breakfast is going to be skipped again.

Wait, something's not right. Jie Liang suddenly remembered that Daryl should be back soon. He had hunted a deer and cornered it near the camp. Unfortunately, a zombie spotted the deer, and the campers had to give up the delicious venison.

Maybe I should get moving around a bit! How about a patrol? Then, to my surprise, I spotted a zombie and shot it dead! And then… maybe roasted venison would be nice!

Without further ado, Jie Liang found a fire axe and headed towards the hillside facing the camp.

“Are you going out, Mr. Jie Liang?” Moore called out from inside the RV. “Do you need me to come with you?”

"What do you think?" Jie Liang waved his hand and disappeared into the jungle without looking back.

Jieliang tried to move as quietly as possible. The deer might not be dead yet. Daryl had shot the deer twice in its weak points, then forced it to flee towards the camp. Daryl was an excellent hunter; he wouldn't let the deer die on the way. Instead, he would conserve its strength until it reached the camp, at which point he would personally deal with it. Therefore, when the walker found the deer, it was very likely still alive.

Since breaking through his limits last time, Jie Liang has not only greatly improved his strength and speed, but his five senses have also become extremely sharp. He carefully searched the forest, hoping to find the deer or the zombie by following some clues.

Suddenly, the sound of hooves came from behind the bushes ahead. A weak deer's cry mingled with the terrifying roar of the zombies. It grew closer and closer.

Found it! Jie Liang rushed forward.

After passing through a thicket of trees, Jie Liang suddenly appeared in a small clearing. A doe with arrows stuck in her body was rushing towards Jie Liang in a panic.

Upon discovering the stag, the doe was terrified and tried desperately to change her direction of escape, attempting to bypass it.
