“These are materials compiled and provided by my friend, Mr. Donald, the chairman of Umbrella Corporation,” Trask replied, pointing to Charles’s dissertation and mutant research data on his desk.
"To paraphrase that Oxford student, for the Upper Cave Man, their mutated cousin—Homo sapiens, that is, us—is deformed. However, once Homo sapiens, that is, humans, completes the mutation of this species, those Upper Cave Man species with lower evolutionary levels will be gradually eliminated and extinct." Trask glanced at Charles's paper section and said to the members of parliament who were engrossed in the meeting room.
“Okay, so you mean we’re like the cavemen who were exterminated?” the senator next to Trask asked.
“You mean yourself, Dr. Trask,” the most powerful senator in the conference room said sarcastically to Trask.
"You must understand. When you send soldiers to the Vietnam battlefield without equipping them with the necessary weapons, and expect to win, you're seriously underestimating your enemy. If you also underestimate the capabilities of mutants, this is not comparable to those small wars around the world. This war will be fought in our streets, in our cities, in our homes. We will lose two wars in the process." Bolivar Trask spoke confidently about the potential problems ahead, and then, seeing one of the most powerful senators being whispered about something, his eyes suddenly filled with confidence. He knew that his new boss, Mr. Donald, had begun to help him.
"We can consider moving this plan forward, but you'll need to raise the funds yourself. You need to understand that we're in a recovery period after the Vietnam War, so Dr. Trask, you'll need to find investors yourself, because General Ross at the Department of Defense has already gotten the President to approve the Sentinel Project. I hope you can do well." The last powerful member of the council in the meeting room took off his glasses and, amidst the surprised gazes of the others, delivered the exciting news to Trask.
"Alright, everyone, don't worry. My partner, Mr. Donalds, will definitely expedite the completion of this plan. I obtained a large amount of mutant blood needed for the plan from him, which will enable the Sentinel Project to be completed." Trask closed the documents beside him, stood up, and spoke to the councilors present, his eyes filled with excitement and confidence.
After Wolverine persuaded Charles, Charles finally began to believe Wolverine's words and prepared to rescue his best friend Magneto to change the apocalyptic future of mutants, which was a very necessary thing.
Magneto participated in the assassination of President Kennedy and is now imprisoned in a high-security Pentagon cell. Of course, there are no metal objects inside to prevent Magneto from escaping and harming the world. Naturally, no other superheroes are interfering; they have no choice but to do this.
At the same time, at a US military base in Vietnam.
"Colonel, what can I do for you?" A lieutenant at the U.S. military base asked enthusiastically, noticing the stripes on Alex's uniform and the Umbrella insignia on his inner clothing.
“Of course, I’m here to take a few men away.” Alex shook his head, took off his sunglasses, and looked down at the respectful lieutenant beside him.
"I'm sorry, sir, we have orders that no one else is allowed in here. Of course, except for those with special passes..." the U.S. lieutenant said in a businesslike manner.
“Looks like I still have to take it out. I know this is Dr. Trask’s order. But now, my order is the highest command, soldier. Stand aside, this is an order.” Alex took out the special pass issued by General Ross of the Tang Tian Special Forces and said disdainfully to the soldier next to him.
The special pass allows the user to retrieve any soldier or prisoner they wish to find, as well as access any highly classified location. Alex, after some time with Umbrella Corporation, has developed the air of a leader. Of course, his Watchers all hold positions in the military, meaning the military has already been heavily infiltrated by Umbrella's influence.
"Yes, sir, please come in." The American lieutenant saluted Alex, then stepped aside to let Alex in. As for why it wasn't Mystique, Tang Tian had already placed Mystique around Magneto. He had entrusted the mutants here to Alex to take to his company. Although these people weren't very strong in combat, Tang Tian would protect them. This was the power of power and money; not everyone dislikes money.
Although Tang Tian had befriended Trask, he didn't need to give him much face. Their relationship was mutually beneficial; Tang Tian needed his knowledge and intellect, while Trask needed Umbrella Corporation's power and funds. Therefore, Tang Tian believed that Trask would grant him this favor by only keeping their blood and not handing over the mutants. (To be continued...)

Chapter 99 Quicksilver
Thanks to the powerful Umbrella Corporation, Alex easily brought back Level 2 mutants, including frogmen, from the US military base in Vietnam. They were easily taken away, and no one dared to stop them. Bolivar Trask, after receiving this news, weighed the pros and cons and didn't stop them. He figured Umbrella would give him an explanation, and while Tang Tian, the big boss, wouldn't hand over the mutants, he would certainly create a clone almost identical to the original as a test subject for his plan.
"The prison where Eric was held was built during World War II. At that time, steel resources were very scarce, so it was constructed with concrete and sand, without any metal materials. The guards there were extremely tight, and he was imprisoned 100 floors underground." In the Charles family's villa, Charles and Wolverine were preparing for the next phase of their plan, so they were discussing how to rescue Magneto.
"Why is he locked up 100 levels underground?" Wolverine asked, looking at the prison map on the table with some confusion.
"What? He forgot to mention it?" Charles and Hank exchanged a glance, then turned to Wolverine with a helpless expression.
"Assassinate the president," Hank whispered to Wolverine. Wolverine's expression froze; he hadn't expected Magneto to be such a madman. No wonder he was imprisoned in such a secure jail.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Charles asked, glancing at the prison map and expressing skepticism about Wolverine's plan.
"This is your plan, not mine," Wolverine shrugged.
“We can’t get in freely; it’s impossible for Hank and me alone. By the way, I know a mutant who’s also an arms dealer. I think he can help us.” Charles noticed the pen in his hand and looked up at Wolverine, stating affirmatively.
“A businessman? No, I have a suitable candidate here. He should be some young man somewhere outside Washington. He comes and goes like the wind, but I don’t know where to look for him.” Wolverine muttered to himself, lost in thought about the memories in his mind.
Meanwhile, Mystique, an Umbrella Corporation spy disguised as Bolivar Trask, easily slipped into Trask Industries' archives. Observing the progress of Project Sentinel in Trask's classified archives, she was somewhat moved upon discovering the autopsy reports of clones of her Cold War allies. At the same time, she harbored murderous intent towards Trask. However, Tang Tian had instructed her that now was not the time to kill Trask, and he assured her that Mystique would personally eliminate him. Of course, Trask's genes would also be considered for use as scientists to serve her.
“Hi, hello, is this Alex? We need your help, could you come over here?” Charles asked Alex cautiously in the car on the way to Magneto’s son.
"Of course, I know what you need me to do. The boss said that although he's here to help you, I can help you too." In the Umbrella Corporation's conference room, Alex was about to tell you this news when he suddenly saw Tang Tian embracing a 15 or 6-year-old blonde beauty. Just as Alex was about to say something, the young woman had already learned everything from his mind.
"Tang, you have work to do. That man named Charles needs your help," a stunningly beautiful blonde loli said to Tang Tian beside her, having extracted crucial information from Alex's thoughts.
“Okay, I understand, Alexia.” Tang Tian nodded, indicating to Alex that he could help them. Tang Tian knew that in that parallel universe, Wolverine had persuaded Charles to rescue Magneto, so he didn't stop history from unfolding. Instead, he sent Alex to help Wolverine complete his mission; even if their actions were discovered, it wouldn't matter, the Umbrella Corporation would handle everything.
Tang Tian also knew who the mutant Wolverine was looking for was. Incidentally, he and his sister had also joined the Avengers. That person was Quicksilver, Magneto's illegitimate son from his youth. Quicksilver's abilities allowed him to easily exceed the speed of sound and ignore the omnipresent gravity. He could even briefly reach the speed of light to time-travel to the future. His genes were extremely valuable; if added to Tyrant, they would be incredibly powerful. The genes of Iceman and Pyro were also part of the plan to create a new Tyrant variant.
Just like the original plot, Charles, Wolverine, and the others arrived at the place where Magneto's illegitimate son lived. It was an American-style villa, shaded by green trees and full of natural atmosphere. From this, it was clear how wealthy the owner was. Magneto had treated his former woman quite well; at least when he left, he left her enough money to last a lifetime. So no matter how much his illegitimate son Quicksilver stole, his mother could easily pay him off with a single check.
"Bang bang bang!!!" A series of rapid knocks sounded at the door, and the villa owner pulled the lock from the inside. Seeing that the three men outside, all wearing sunglasses, were clearly not ordinary people, she sighed. Her son, Quicksilver, was a habitual thief. So, she looked helplessly at the men outside and asked, "What did he do this time? Whatever he took, I'll write you a check."
Hearing these words, Wolverine and Hank exchanged a glance, both able to see the surprise in each other's eyes. Then Wolverine turned to the villa's hostess and said, "We just need to talk to him, nothing more."
The villa's owner, who could also be considered Magneto's lover, nodded to Wolverine and the others outside and let them into the villa; "Peter, there are police here again."
When Wolverine came downstairs, he found a room furnished with posters and a huge amount of new television and snacks. Clearly, Quicksilver's mentality was similar to the protagonist of Teleport—he wasn't stealing to serve the people. Hearing someone had come, Quicksilver asked suspiciously, "What's wrong? I haven't done anything. I've been here all day."
Quicksilver's abilities are truly impressive. He can hit a ping-pong ball incredibly fast, then instantly teleport to the other end to hit it again. Then, in a flash, he reappears on the sofa. His movements are so fast they're almost imperceptible to the naked eye, making them seem like teleportation.
“Relax, Peter, we’re not the police.” Wolverine took off his sunglasses, walked up to the gray-haired Quicksilver, and explained.
“Of course you’re not police. If you were, you wouldn’t have driven a taxi here.” Quicksilver put his hands behind his head, leaned against the wall, and said as if he knew their background.
"How did you know we came in a taxi?" Charles asked Quicksilver, somewhat puzzled.
“When you came in, I checked your registration. Since it was still early, I also checked your rental agreement. You came from that side of town. Are you from the FBI?” Quicksilver said lazily, then teleported to produce Charles’s identification.
"He can teleport?" Hank asked Wolverine with some surprise.
"No, he's just incredibly fast, he can go supersonic. When I met him, he was very old, but now he's very young," Wolverine replied, shaking his head.
“Sorry I’m late.” It was a sudden voice that startled everyone. Charles turned around and saw that the person was his Cold War partner—the Sabotage, Alex.
“Long time no see, Alex. We need more help.” Alex was dressed in a very smart black combat suit and looked very distinguished, so Charles greeted him warmly.
Alex, a member of the Watchers, was of course sent out by Tang Tian. This was the most crucial link in the chain, and also something that happened after Tang Tian had planned it out. (To be continued...)

Chapter 100 Pentagon Prison
"Old? You're the old one. And this new guy, wait, what did I just discover? He's an A-rank member of the Umbrella Corporation's Watchmen organization, a gifted superhuman." Quicksilver, sitting on the sofa, held a badge with the Umbrella Corporation logo in his hand, eating chocolate and looking at Alex's abilities and his rank on the badge in surprise.
"Such speed! It can even reach supersonic speeds." Alex's pupils contracted as he looked at the data on the computer on his wrist and admired Quicksilver.
As a member of the Watchmen, Alex also received the Torrent ability and a high-tech miniature wrist computer. The timer on the wrist computer shows Quicksilver's speed as 1135 meters per second. Quicksilver's normal speed is already three times the speed of sound, so you can imagine how fast he would be in combat. Of course, most importantly, the genetic talents of each new mutant member are chosen by the veteran members, so Alex needed the Torrent ability as a supplementary power.
"So, aren't you afraid to show your talent?" Charles asked Quicksilver with a hint of doubt. In Charles's memory, mutants always hid their abilities, so what surprised Charles about this mutant was his complete lack of concealment of his powers.
"Talent? What talent? What are you talking about? What's so strange about this? It's okay, no one will believe me." Quicksilver put down his snacks and answered Wolverine and the others, feigning ignorance. However, those who knew Quicksilver well knew that he generally wouldn't help other mutants unless they were demonstrating their abilities.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Quicksilver instantly sat down in front of the game machine, ignoring these people who might be his fellow mutants, and asked them what their purpose was.
“We need your help, Peter,” Wolverine said earnestly to Quicksilver. “Help with what?”
"Break into a heavily guarded prison and rescue the person."
"A prison break? You know, that's illegal." Quicksilver shook his head and refused.
However, Alex glanced around at the new snacks and television set, and knew that Quicksilver had done plenty of illegal things—he was blatantly lying. But neither Alex nor the others said it aloud; they kept the answer to themselves.
"What's in it for me?" Quicksilver was already somewhat tempted and began to bargain with these people.
"Ever since you awakened your abilities, you've been a kleptocrat, and you even broke into the U.S. Department of Defense!" Wolverine, who knew Quicksilver inside and out, chuckled as he revealed what only he knew, listing it off as if it were his own treasure.
Wolverine's exposure of his secrets proved highly effective. Quicksilver, who was playing a game, suddenly changed his expression, abandoning his previous playful attitude and asking seriously, "Why should I believe you?"
“Because we are all the same kind of people, this is the ability that belongs to us mutants.” Before Charles could say anything, Alex suddenly interjected.
Then, a white tornado appeared in Alex's palm and rapidly expanded. Small pieces of plastic trash around it were swept up. Then, to the astonishment of the others, when his hand touched the tornado again, its color suddenly turned deep red after he infused it with his own energy, and the various pieces of trash inside were reduced to fine dust under the extremely high temperature energy.
"Cool, powerful, definitely an A-class member. I'll take this job." Quicksilver tossed Alex's identification to him. After Alex unleashed his powers, Quicksilver became noticeably more docile and agreed to the job.
The Pentagon, where Magneto is imprisoned, was just built in 1943. It can be considered the world's largest office building, housing 25,000 active-duty military personnel and police officers. It covers a total area of 6 million square kilometers. Of course, Magneto enjoys special treatment here; after all, not everyone can enjoy the privilege of being 100 floors underground.
"Hank, leave this to me." Alex nodded to Hank, then activated the Skynet system on his wrist computer, easily infiltrating the monitoring room's network. He controlled the view so that no one else would notice anything amiss.
A security guard went to the kitchen, took some food, and headed towards Magneto's prison. The guard at the gate, noticing the food delivery, opened the gate without saying anything to someone he knew.
"No metal objects allowed?" Quicksilver glanced at the warning sign at the entrance, a malicious smirk playing on his lips. He was going here to rescue a prisoner controlled by a magnetic field, unaware that he was also rescuing his own father.
Then, as they approached the entrance, Quicksilver used his speed to throw the security guard's hat off. The guard spotted Quicksilver through the reflection in the wall, but before he could say anything, Quicksilver pulled out some silver duct tape and gave a malicious smile. As a result... Quicksilver successfully donned the security guard's uniform, and a mummy made of duct tape appeared on the wall of the electric door.
On the other side, in the Pentagon's control room.
"What's going on? Why is the monitor signal gone? Damn it, call the maintenance department over here." A white monitoring staff member looked at the completely stopped monitor and said to the other departments.
After entering Magneto's cell, Quicksilver left a lunchbox with a note inside warning about the glass. After nodding to Magneto, Quicksilver placed his hands on the tempered glass, vibrating it and creating a destructive resonance that instantly shattered it. Hank also disabled the kitchen's operating system, causing the fire extinguishers to release their water instantly.
“The door will open in 3 seconds. Then 20 guards will open fire on us,” Magneto said to Quicksilver, who was saving him.
"I know! That's why I'm waiting here," Quicksilver said excitedly. Then what happened next was hilarious. Quicksilver, supporting his father's neck, ran to the duct tape mummy, while the security guards inside were, of course, knocked unconscious by the shockwave.
"It's okay, it'll be alright. If it happens the first time of the month, you must have committed a serious crime. What crime did you commit? What did you do? Why are they locking you up?" For some reason, Quicksilver felt a deep familiarity with Magneto, just like he felt with his mother. That's why Quicksilver, who lacked a father's love as a child, asked Magneto so many questions.
“My only mistake was fighting for us mutants. It was our differing ideals that led me here,” Magneto said bitterly to Quicksilver.
As expected, the kitchen scene unfolded exactly as before. After Charles rambled on and on with a bunch of nonsensical words, Wolverine knocked out the two burly black security guards with a single leap.
“They told me you can control metal. You know, my mother knew someone with that talent before,” Quicksilver said thoughtfully, as if he had thought of something.
"Charles..." Just then, the door opened, but instead of a hug, they were greeted by a fist the size of a sandbag. The two best buddies chatted for a while before realizing that reinforcements had arrived. Of course, Charles's powers were temporarily suppressed, and only Quicksilver could change the trajectory of bullets.
"As expected, I'm too late. But I've taken care of those people outside, so we can walk out without any trouble." Alex said in surprise, leaving behind a half-dead policeman he was holding, as he watched Quicksilver take care of the policemen in an instant.
“You’re not late, just in time, thank you, Alex,” Charles said to Alex in gratitude.
Next, Wolverine boarded a private plane bound for Paris, intending to find Mystique and then try to change the future. However, Wolverine was unaware that everything he did would benefit the mutants in the main Marvel universe. All of this was being observed by Tang Tian, who was preparing to seize the opportunity to profit from it. (To be continued...)

Chapter 101 Conversation
On the private plane to Paris, as Eric Lansheer reached for the newspaper by the window, Wolverine suddenly extended his bone claws, pierced the newspaper, and coldly looked up at Magneto.
Magneto didn't say anything; how could someone as cunning as a mutant tyrant be lacking in shrewdness? He turned to Wolverine behind him and said, "Imagine what it would look like if it were made of metal." As he spoke, Magneto walked to another seat on the plane, looked out the window, and after a moment of silence, asked Wolverine, "Where did they find you from?"
Upon hearing Magneto's words, Wolverine sat up, placed his hands on the table, and replied in a deep voice, as if recalling or reminiscing, "You may find it hard to believe, but... you sent me. In the future, you and Charles sent me."
Magneto nodded after hearing Wolverine's serious tone, but he didn't believe that Wolverine was from the future. He was also a little cautious. Of course, Wolverine didn't know that the world he had risked his life to come to was not the original timeline, but another complete original universe. Phantom Cat's ability could allow his consciousness to travel back to the past, but it could only change the future for a short time. In the long run, it would cause his consciousness to flow back to the original universe.
Soon after, the plane took off. Seeing Eric and Charles looking at each other, Wolverine, Alex, and the others knew that the two had something to say, so they wisely moved to other parts of the plane.
The two looked at each other for a while without saying anything. Magneto disliked Charles for disguising himself as an ordinary person and blending into the crowd, and he deeply abhorred the military scientists' killing of mutants. Although his secret boss, Mr. Donald, had told him that the people handed over to the military were clones, Magneto still harbored some resentment towards Charles after learning about the military's experimentation on mutants. Charles's expression was also very unpleasant. Mystique was his childhood friend, and although she was later taken in by the Umbrella Corporation, the bond they had built in that month was far stronger than some people's romantic love. Charles also didn't have a good attitude towards Magneto because Erik had led his sister astray.
After a brief standoff, Magneto broke the silence, asking Charles with some confusion, "Why haven't you lost your special abilities?"
"Hank developed a serum that can turn mutants into normal people. Through spinal surgery, he corrected my DNA and made me a normal person again." Charles slowly recounted his experience after losing his powers. He was clearly doubting his abilities and disappointed that he couldn't keep Mystique, so he wanted to become a normal person and experience life.
"A normal person. Ha, how laughable. I remember you once said you wanted mutants to be respected by ordinary people like Captain America. So, you mean sacrificing your talents for the life and upright walking of an ordinary person?" Magneto said with disdain, his eyes hardening as he thought of his boss's ideals. Charles and he were destined to be on different paths, but he wasn't alone now. He had the support of countless mutant brothers and the power of the Umbrella Corporation.
"I sacrificed my talent to be able to eat well and sleep well—the kind of life only ordinary people can have. How much do you know?" Charles looked earnestly into Magneto's eyes and retorted.
