However, at that moment, a tracker wielding a Gatling gun appeared before them, but unfortunately, in an instant, the tracker was blasted to pieces by something much larger.
"Roar!" The dark figure roared loudly, a sound as loud as thunder, enough to shatter everyone's fragile psychological defenses. That was the Tyrant, the ultimate weapon of the Umbrella Corporation.
"It seems to be a biological weapon from those Hydra guys. The company has also sent Tyrant to stop it," Leon said seriously, shaking his head.
The tyrant swept his steel-like arm across, and the Hydra tracker, seeing this move from the dark figure before him, was momentarily stunned. He was intelligent enough to use the Gatling gun as a shield.
"Bang!" A loud thud came from the Chaser. The Chaser was mercilessly thrown into a corner by this blow. Umbrella Corporation's biological weapons were quite sophisticated, far superior to the biological weapons that Marcus had just created.
"Bang!" The Nemesis flew out like a sack of potatoes. When he picked up the Gatling gun, he found it had been smashed to pieces by the impact. But if the Gatling gun hadn't been blocking his chest, the Hydra Nemesis's Red Skull emblem would have been very conspicuous.
Despite having the help of the Umbrella Corporation tyrant, Hydra is now in a predicament. They need to capture some Umbrella employees and turn them into their own to launch the most effective attacks against Umbrella, so they have sent out a large number of weak trackers.
At this moment, he also joined the attack on the pursuers. The people standing to the side were quite frightened when they discovered that there were several pursuers around, but their instincts told them that it was time to open fire.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" The bullets from Leon and the others' guns were now aimed directly at the enormous tracker. Why mention this? Because Marcus had obtained the virus from the Left 4 Dead world on that small island near Tokyo—more precisely, the genes of the mutated infected tank.
The enhanced tracker glanced at the group of people without heavy firepower, seemingly unaffected by the bullets. He bent down and tore a slab of concrete from the ground, the force causing the concrete to crack.
The tracker lifted the floorboards he had just torn off and hurled them heavily at the men who were firing at them. The two men panicked and scattered to avoid the deadly blow. "Bang!" Wade suddenly activated his Cyclops ability, a power he had gained after being modified by Tang Tian Deadpool.
Before the two could react, the tracker's body underwent another mutation, and the tyrant who had just helped them was now entangled by the other trackers, before rushing towards the group.
"Roar!" The Tracker raised its arms and slammed them down at Claire. Claire and the others weren't fools; they knew perfectly well that if that strong, massive Tracker arm struck them, they would be instantly turned into mincemeat. Leon and Claire couldn't possibly dodge the attack, but they knew it was impossible. The arm was already in mid-air, showing no sign of stopping, and they had no time to evade it.
"Oh, looks like I'm going to meet my end here this time." Leon smiled as he watched the arm swing down, showing no fear whatsoever; he had died countless times in the virtual world.
"Looks like I can't go see my brother. God! I'm coming." Claire closed her eyes, as if she could already embrace death. Yet death was so close to her.
"Whoosh!" Just as the Tracker's arm was about to swing down, a blinding laser beam shot in, forcing both of them to close their eyes in the intense light. The Tracker stopped as well, but only because his arm had been cut by Deadpool's laser.
Deadpool's laser pierced the Nemesis, tearing its hideous body apart. And this laser beam seemed to have timed perfectly, preventing either of them from being hit.
After Deadpool stopped the Nemesis from attacking his companion, Leon slowly noticed him. "Wade, you have so many abilities. It seems you were modified to gain these powers," Claire said slowly.
"Destroy everything!" The tracker clearly disliked its prey reminiscing in front of it. It roared and charged straight at them.
"Clang, clang, clang." A metallic clang echoed as metal struck the ground. "Boom!" A deafening explosion suddenly erupted beside the pursuer. The sound seemed to drown out his roar.
The Nemesis had half its body sliced off by the explosion. It knelt in utter despair before collapsing to its knees. Its massive body fell to the ground, causing it to tremble slightly, as if struck by an earthquake. This enhanced version of the Nemesis from Hydra, while not as powerful as the Umbrella Corporation's Tyrant, was still a formidable individual attacker.
While everyone was bewildered by this sudden turn of events, they discovered that the tyrant had activated the bio-energy bomb on his body, thus resolving their crisis.
"Get in the car, hurry up!" Leon, standing to the side of the car, was using his M16 assault rifle to keep the zombies from surging in.
"Boom!" The car started and, after smashing through countless zombies, drove straight west, with Deadpool's astonishing strength protecting them.
"These zombies aren't even that strong enough to stop me," Wade said dismissively, while looking at the scenery.
Claire was still somewhat worried as she looked at the swarming zombies outside. It was only because of Leon's experience and the mutant Deadpool that they had been able to get here so easily. Tokyo was now extremely dangerous; the T-virus had successfully spread completely. Unless a nuclear bomb could be used to destroy all life, nothing could stop it. The T-virus was arguably the most dangerous virus besides the one in the comics, easily disrupting the world's food chain.
Tang Tian's next step is to continue his research, because the development of some things is endless, so Tang Tian needs to absorb more experience. The emergence of the Hulk is already showing promise. Tang Tian's goal is to continue using the genes of those superheroes, then develop high-tech weapons to rapidly increase his strength. His main objective is to travel to other movie worlds and plunder their technology. (To be continued...)
Chapter 280 The Green Hornet
On their way to downtown, Lyon and Claire were looking for a safe place to rest when, just as they entered, a pair of all-wooden nunchucks suddenly swung out from the darkness of the room.
"Huh?" Leon's attention was still focused on the safety outside, and he didn't notice the blow from the darkness. "Thud!" The blow struck Leon squarely on the head. Blood splattered from Leon's head, and Claire and Wade simultaneously raised their weapons.
Leon, clutching his head where he'd been hit, still feeling a bit nauseous, was about to see what had happened when a similarly masked figure emerged from the darkness.
"I'm sorry, I thought you were a zombie. Those things are dangerous, so please don't mind," the Green Hornet said, looking at Leon, whose forehead was still bleeding.
“It’s alright, but we have one more member now.” Leon gestured to his companions, telling them not to fire; cooperating with other survivors was the only way to leave this place.
"I thought you were zombies, but it doesn't look like you are. Let's go in, it's still safe here for now." The Green Hornet said in a low voice, because he didn't want the zombies around him to hear. Speaking of which, he was also a superhero without superpowers, just like Daredevil, but he came here at the request of other organizations and ended up being trapped.
The Green Hornet skillfully treated Leon's forehead, and the battlefield first aid kit made Leon feel a little better, temporarily resolving the issue of the Green Hornet's mistake.
"However, I'm still sorry, Mr. Leon. Let me introduce myself. My name is Kato. In America, they call me the Green Hornet, but I don't have Spider-Man's abilities," the Green Hornet introduced with a wry smile.
“It’s alright, don’t say anymore. Now is not the time to talk about these things. The military will destroy this place soon.” Leon’s expression turned serious as he spoke thoughtfully to the Green Hornet.
Leon briefly explained why the place had been destroyed, which made the Green Hornet's expression slightly grim. "Looks like we'll have to leave by helicopter. Damn T-virus," the Green Hornet said angrily, frowning.
The next day, Leon raised his M16 assault rifle and felled the zombies who had just rushed upstairs. They were already preparing to leave, as Tokyo was now extremely unsafe.
"Hurry up, Claire. Wade and the others are waiting for us downstairs," Leon yelled at Claire, urging her to hurry, because the nuclear crisis was like a sword hanging over their heads.
"Okay," Claire replied. She had grown a lot after being through the baptism of battle.
Just as they were about to go downstairs, something resembling a tongue suddenly extended out of a window in another building. Its target was Lyon.
"Whoosh." Leon was struck in the shoulder by the sudden tongue. Then, a tremendous force pulled Leon down, dragging him towards the building. Wade also sensed the danger, instantly teleporting to the location of the Licker and eliminating the attacker with a single strike.
The Green Hornet was very satisfied with the result, and he briefly recalled his mission.
In a brightly lit world, surrounded by densely packed experimental equipment, the surrounding conditions were precisely and accurately recorded, especially the new experimental subjects.
"Test subject number 2045. Kato, male. 23 years old." A mechanical voice came out.
A Green Hornet dressed in what looked like a hospital gown appeared in a room enclosed by reinforced glass, his eyes closed and expressionless. Outside, Tang Tian, dressed in a suit, and his researchers silently observed everything.
"Test subject number 2045 is in good health and is ready to undergo T-virus superhuman serum implantation." The mechanical voice came again.
A man in a white coat pushed a cart in. He picked up a container from the cart, opened it, and took out something that looked like a syringe. He then walked up to the Green Hornet.
"Mr. Green Hornet, your implantation trial is now beginning. If you can tolerate the serum containing a small amount of the G virus, then we can give you what you need," said the person in the white coat. Tang Tian nodded in agreement.
“Of course, Mr. Donald. I’m after power.” The Green Hornet opened his eyes and said seriously. In fact, he also wanted to be like a superhero, but he didn’t have those amazing powers. His own power was just fighting skills and combat techniques, so he wanted to obtain some power.
“Of course, you will gain these powers.” Tang Tian took off his sunglasses, letting the Green Hornet see his mutated eyes.
"Thank you for saving me in time." Leon smiled and looked at Wade.
"Alright, we should go now," Leon said before leaving.
Then, the three of them, along with the newcomer Green Hornet, ran towards the city center. While on the road, Green Hornet took out several bottles from his tactical backpack in the car, with the words "Gan Hong 1994" faintly written on them.
Then they realized they were facing a horde of zombies, who roared and charged toward them, clearly indicating that the Green Hornet had noticed the problem.
Wade took out a crumpled cigarette, lit it with a lighter, and took a deep drag. Watching the charging zombies, Wade grabbed the Green Hornet's gasoline bottle, held the cigarette butt against the bottle's opening, and a rope attached to the bottle instantly ignited.
"Whoosh!" Wade used teleportation to throw the bottle at the horde of zombies outside the car, instantly turning the zombie horde into a sea of fire. "Gasoline can completely destroy the T-virus," Wade said calmly, glancing at the Green Hornet with slight surprise, clearly taken aback by his appearance.
At this moment, the zombies below seemed to fall into chaos. Zombies covered in flames ran around and set the rest of the zombies on fire, thus clearing a safe area for them.
"Let's go!" Lyon said calmly to them once they were safe.
"Try this." Wade threw something that looked like an explosive at the zombies.
With a deafening boom, dozens of zombies were sent to hell.
“It really doesn’t feel right here. I prefer a peaceful life,” Claire sighed.
As night began to fall, they started to walk deeper into the darkness. The darkness seemed to open its arms and embrace them.
The next day, the sun shone its light and warmth upon every dark corner of the world. But no one knew how pale and powerless its warmth was during the T-virus outbreak. No one knew how dangerous the world was, and how much the Marvel universe remained unexplored. (To be continued...)
Chapter 281 The Escape Route
Different organisms react differently to various disasters. Just like the dinosaurs that ruled the Earth in ancient times, they dominated the planet for hundreds of millions of years. They were incredibly large and strong. However, a close encounter between an asteroid only 10 kilometers in diameter and Earth caused these ancient behemoths to disappear from the world forever.
Humans are a species that calls themselves the masters of Earth. They possess intelligent brains, which they use to rule this planet. They are proud because these intelligent brains grant them the ability to destroy Earth hundreds of times over in an instant. However, these intelligent brains seem to be humanity's own gravediggers. The T-virus, nuclear bombs—where did they come from? Did they appear out of thin air? No, that is human wisdom, a power capable of destroying countless parallel universes.
The outbreak of the T-virus is testing this young species that has only existed for a few million years, but this universe is not ordinary. As the most powerful universe, the Marvel Universe still has the strength to stop the rapid spread of the T-virus.
Meanwhile, in Tokyo Raccoon City, a light green military jeep was speeding along the bumpy road. The Green Hornet had spotted it by chance, so everyone naturally upgraded their equipment.
Leon, in the driver's seat, glanced at the fuel gauge, his brow furrowing beneath his blond bangs. The gauge was nearing its lowest point. This meant that without refueling, the car would be like scrap metal, utterly useless.
There are still a few months before the country is completely destroyed by nuclear bombs. The T virus has spread from Tokyo to the entire island nation. Since the city center is where the virus started to spread, most of the zombies have now fled to areas with humans. The survivors of the island nation are continuing their futile resistance.
Lyon slowed down, took out the island map he always carried with him, spread it on the steering wheel, and his eyes seemed to be searching for something.
"What's wrong? Are you out of gas again?" Claire asked, looking at Leon.
"Hmm. I don't know why, but the gas has been running out really fast these past few days." Leon sighed, shook his head, and looked at the map again.
"You didn't drink gasoline like it was water at night, did you? Seriously, that would be hilarious, and we'd have to go look for it again," Wade said with an inappropriate laugh. His presence seemed to fill the car with a cheerful atmosphere; indeed, without the zombies' harassment these past few days, their mindset seemed much more stable.
"However, speaking of which, the zombies have also undergone some changes. For example, some zombies are extremely fast, and there are many newly mutated zombies, but we haven't encountered them yet." Green Hornet frowned as he looked at the newspaper on the ground, his expression grim.
“Yes! At the same time, Hydra has discovered a dangerous virus similar to the T-virus on a small island near Tokyo. According to the company's research, those viruses are a variant of the rabies virus, even more dangerous than the T-virus.” Leon nodded, feeling very uneasy about the newly discovered infected individuals.
“Look here at Lyon,” said the Green Hornet, sitting in the passenger seat. He pointed to a place in the south of the map and said, “This is the closest place to us. We can go there to resupply.” The Green Hornet said unhurriedly.
“Hmm, I think that’s a good idea,” Leon said, then he said to the people in the back seat, “Guys, we’re changing direction and heading south to somewhere. We’ll resupply there.”
“We’ll listen to you, Lyon. Your orders are correct,” Claire said with a smile. After some dangerous situations, everyone felt that Lyon was a good choice to take command, because in this dangerous city, it’s not easy to find someone you can trust.
Leon turned his head, slammed on the gas, and the car roared southward. Once again, the escape was beginning. They were the largest group of survivors in the city, and a group with exceptional abilities.
In the distance, a group of buildings slowly came into view; that was where they had resupplyed. While Tokyo Raccoon City wasn't as developed as America, it was certainly no less developed, possessing comprehensive facilities.
“This is it,” Wade said, his face expressionless.
"Alright, we've got our supplies quickly, so let's hurry and get out of the car," Leon said to his companions in the back.
The group disembarked from the vehicle in a scattered fashion, each grabbing their weapons. Looking at the place before them, everyone had a strange sense of security.
It's winter now, and the sky in Tokyo is always so clear. The sunshine always makes people feel very happy, but the sunlight only shines on the earth at an angle. It has lost the warm enthusiasm of summer, and people feel that the sun's heat is gone.
Looking at the small area before him, Leon frowned. "Everyone, hurry up and find gasoline and supplies. Let's try to get out of here before dark," Leon said calmly.
“Then, let’s go,” Leon said, looking at Claire who was observing their surroundings.
"Okay, I understand." Claire nodded. She and Leon were preparing to go to other places to find supplies, and they killed any zombies they encountered along the way.
On the other side of the area, two men appeared in a small room.
"Hehe...this is really good stuff." The Green Hornet opened a room and was secretly excited about what was inside. This food was very important to them; they were not plants, so they needed these things.
"Hehe, that's what we saw, we got most of it." Wade smiled knowingly at the Green Hornet.
“Then let us choose first, and the rest can be given to them. Vodka and all sorts of high-end goods are ours,” Wade said excitedly, clearly thrilled with his discovery.
As Leon and Claire were preparing to continue their search for food, a dark figure rushed out from a small door in the store.
"Roar!" This familiar sound, like that of a wild beast, that they often heard, reached Leon's ears.
Leon turned around and saw a zombie dressed in what looked like a hospital gown rushing in from behind the door. It all happened so fast that Leon didn't even have time to grab his assault rifle from behind him. He drew the military dagger strapped to his leg and stared at the agile zombie charging towards him.
"Roar!" The zombie charged forward, sending Leon flying. The force was far greater than any zombie Leon had ever encountered, and it possessed some intelligence; those special zombies knew how to use their advantages.
