Just then, the doctor who had just gone out knocked on the door and said, "Sir, the helicopter is ready and we can transfer the patient."

Maria Hill nodded and said, "Okay, let's begin the transfer. Be careful!" After saying that, she followed the doctor and boarded the plane with them.

After flying for several hours, they arrived at S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Trident Building in Washington, D.C. Maria Hill personally arranged for Natasha to go to the nursing room, and then led her to Nick Fury's office.

When Maria Hill opened the door and walked in, Nick Fury was looking at a document. Hearing footsteps, he didn't even look up and said, "Maria's back? Where's Natasha?"

Maria Hill said calmly, "Natasha has fainted!"

Nick Fury looked up, frowning. "Natasha's unconscious? What happened?"

After hearing this, Maria Hill said, "That's a question for you!"

Nick Fury commanded coldly, "Agent Hill, please answer my questions seriously!"

Maria Hill saluted upon hearing Nick Fury's order and said, "Yes, sir. The doctor said Natasha is covered in injuries and fainted due to excessive grief."

When Nick Fury heard it was a psychological issue, he felt a pang of helplessness. Female agents were good in every way, except that they were prone to problems in their relationships. In their lives, they would either fail in their missions and be killed by the enemy because of relationship issues, or they would betray their organization and be killed by their own people because of relationship issues. Nick Fury had always thought Natasha was different, but it turned out she couldn't escape the problems of relationships either.

"Did Adam Stark see Natasha?" The only person who could influence Natasha's emotions and cause such serious consequences is Adam Stark.

Maria Hill nodded and said, "Yes, Natasha may have been seen by Adam Stark after completing the mission. And according to what Natasha just said, she didn't go to treat her injuries afterward, but went to find Adam Stark, but was rejected. So Natasha was so heartbroken that she fainted."

Nick Fury sighed after hearing this and said, "Okay, I was going to send her on a new mission, but forget it, I'll give her a week off and let her go to Africa to clear her head."

Maria Hill nodded and said, "I understand. I'll tell her. By the way, what kind of person would make you prepare to send Natasha?"

Nick Fury slammed some documents on the table and said, "He's an elite who just retired from the FBI. I looked at his file, and it's a shame he retired. I was originally going to have Natasha recruit him."

Maria Hill glanced at the file and said, "Chief, the other party already has a wife and children!"

Nick Fury replied calmly, "It will be gone soon!"

Maria Hilton was shocked and said, "What? What do you mean?"

Nick Fury said coldly, "You know the rules of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Hill: don't ask questions you shouldn't ask!"

Maria Hill said calmly, "Yes, I know!"

Nick Fury said, "Alright, you can go now. While you're at it, make the necessary arrangements for this task!"

Maria Hill understood what Nick Fury meant. Although she struggled with the decision, she finally nodded and said, "I understand!" Then she left the office.

Nick Fury smiled with satisfaction after reading it, then circled the name "Frank Cassel" in red on the file and said in a low voice, "Heh, Frank, you think you can get away unscathed, but did you think the FBI would let you off so easily after you know so much? Besides, you've offended people."

==========================- ...

A week passed quickly, and Adam had moved on from the complicated feelings he had when he saw Natasha again. Although he hadn't forgiven Natasha, he was able to face her calmly, and he seemed to have become more mature.

Right now, Adam is in the underground research lab adapting to his suddenly increased power. In the past week, he has been struggling to adapt to his newfound strength and has caused quite a few laughs. Fortunately, Adam hasn't gone out, so no one has seen what he looks like, except for Athena.

"Athena, turn off that video! And you'd better delete it!"

To Adam's dismay, Athena has recently been using this video to tease him. Adam has said the same thing more than once, but it has no effect on Athena.

Athena chuckled and said, "No way! I'm going to keep this as a keepsake. When you have a child, Master, I'll definitely show her this video."

Upon hearing this, Adam asked, "Why her?"

Athena replied, "Of course it's because I like girls."

Just as they were having a pleasant conversation, Adam's phone rang.

"Master, Attorney Stephen has brought a phone call."

Adam wiped his slightly sweaty body with a towel and said, "Hmm? Take it. It must be because of the newspaper."

As expected, Adam's guess was correct; Attorney Stephen had approached him precisely to get Adam to sign the contract.

"Okay, the weather's nice today. I'm getting a bit tired of staying home these past few days, let's go sign some papers in Central Park."

After listening, Attorney Stephen said, "Okay, you're the boss. By the way, they're asking that the worker representatives go along too."

Adam didn't care and said, "Let them be. See you in Central Park in an hour! I'll call you when I get there."

After hearing this, Attorney Stephen said, "Okay, see you later!" and then hung up the phone.

An hour later, Adam, wearing sunglasses and a fitted trench coat, appeared in Central Park. After calling Stephen's lawyer to find out his location, he went to a coffee shop.

The man who came to sign the contract was a balding middle-aged man. Seeing Adam walk in, he quickly stood up and said, "Heh, Mr. Stark? I didn't expect it to really be you. I'm Jason Ryan, a major shareholder of the Daily Bugle."

After hearing this, Adam glanced at lawyer Stephen, who explained, "The editor-in-chief still holds 15 percent of the newspaper's shares. I've spoken with him, and he has no intention of selling them."

Adam shrugged and said, "Fine, whatever. I just need the final say. Let's sign the contract."

An old man who came with them heard Adam's words and asked, "Mr. Stark, the boss owes us three months' wages. What are you going to do about this?"

Adam replied calmly, "Since you know me, you should know that I'm not short of money. I won't cheat you, so don't worry."

Jason Ryan nodded and scoffed, "Heh, these poor bastards actually doubt Mr. Stark's character. It's hilarious. If you ask me, Mr. Stark, it would be best to fire this old guy."

After hearing this, Adam glanced indifferently at the pig-like Jason Ryan, quickly signed his name, and said, "Alright, sir, from now on he is my employee, and this matter is no longer your concern!"

Jason Ryan was furious after hearing this, but when he remembered the other party's identity, he immediately deflated, gave a few dry laughs, and slunk out of the coffee shop.

Adam watched Jason Ryan's retreating figure and sneered, "No wonder the Daily Bugle never took off; it turns out the boss is this kind of person."

Attorney Stephen shrugged and said, "That's why I told you this newspaper isn't worth acquiring."

Adam glanced at the somewhat uneasy old man and said, "Alright, Attorney Stephen, now that I've signed the contract, you can go about your business. I'll call Dawn Company later and send someone over to calculate their debts and pay their wages. That's what you wanted to hear, isn't it, sir?"

The old man was somewhat moved and stood up, saying, "Thank you, Mr. Stark."

Adam waved his hand and said, "Alright, go back and tell them the good news. I think they must be getting impatient."

The old man thanked him profusely and left the coffee shop. Stephen, seeing that he was alright, also said goodbye to Adam and left. Adam, after calling Dawn Corporation and arranging for someone to check the accounts at the Daily Bugle, saw the rare sunshine outside and suddenly had the idea to go for a walk in the park.

After leaving the coffee shop, looking at the people around me playing with their children, I suddenly realized that I hadn't gone out with Tony in a long time, so I decided to call Tony tonight to relax.

As Adam strolled around, planning his evening activities, a loud explosion came from the distant zoo. Knowing something was wrong, Adam quickly found a secluded spot, changed into his combat suit, and ran towards the scene.

When Adam arrived at the scene, a fast food restaurant near the zoo was engulfed in flames. Many people had been cut by shards of glass, and some were calling 911 or emergency services.

Upon seeing this, Adam said, "Hey, gentlemen, get out of here!" He then took a deep breath and exhaled a blast of cold air.

Adam quickly extinguished the fire in the fast food restaurant. He first used his X-ray vision to look at the restaurant and, after finding that there was no problem, said to the people around him, "Can you help me? Carry them out of there. I've already called the emergency center."

After hearing this, a young citizen patted his chest and said, "No problem at all, Xia Ying, we'll help you bring the lightly injured out."

Others also offered to help, and Adam smiled. He used his speed to transfer the seriously injured person to a nearby hospital. Because Adam had notified the hospital through Athena beforehand, the hospital had already prepared several emergency rooms. When Adam arrived at the hospital entrance with the injured person, they quickly moved in and carried the injured person into the emergency room.

After several trips back and forth, Adam finally got the seriously injured people to the hospital. Then he returned to the explosion site and found that the FBI had taken over the area and was not allowing anyone else to get close. The people who had helped Adam earlier were also being interrogated by the FBI. Adam frowned and looked around. He noticed that one person was missing from the group of people who were slightly injured and unconscious. These phenomena made Adam suspicious of the explosion.

Just then, a middle-aged man wearing black sunglasses and a black suit approached Adam and asked in a questioning tone, "I heard you moved all the injured people away? Who gave you permission to do that?"

Adam sneered and said, "Oh? Is it wrong for me to save someone?"

The middle-aged man said coldly, "You did nothing wrong in saving people, but you might have rescued the criminals along with them. If they escape, can you take responsibility? Which hospital is the injured person in? Tell me now!"

Adam frowned upon hearing this and said, "What gives you the audacity to speak to me like that?" He then stared at the FBI agent with icy eyes.

The FBI agent, seemingly used to being unreasonable, snapped his badge out and said, "Because I represent the country!"

Adam sneered and said, "Oh, really? Heh, since you're so powerful, then you can find the injured person yourselves!" With that, he vanished in an instant, taking the other man's clothes with him and leaving him only a red thong.

Adam had just returned home when Athena appeared and laughed, "Master, you are so wicked! How could you play such a trick on a person who represents a country? Aren't you afraid?"

Adam said irritably, "Alright, Athena, stop mentioning the FBI. Quickly pull up the video footage near that fast food restaurant. I didn't want to get involved, but since you've messed with me, let me investigate what's going on here."

Athena replied, "Okay, Master, please wait a moment!" After saying that, she began to search for fast food restaurants and video materials in the vicinity, and then sent several photos or videos that she thought were acceptable to Adam.

“Master, these people are suspicious. They've been watching the family at table number three. And according to this video, the man being monitored seems to have noticed it, and then the explosion happened. It's a pity the surveillance camera in the kitchen is broken. We don't know if it was deliberately broken or if it was always broken. Otherwise, we would definitely be able to find out the cause of the explosion.”

Adam nodded after hearing this and said, "Hmm, not bad. Check this man's identity; perhaps he is the person the FBI is looking for."

Athena pulled up another picture and said, "I've already checked. This person's name is Frank Cassel, one of the FBI's elite agents. He completed his last mission a month ago and has already left the company."

Adam asked, "Then, who are the other three people?"

Athena quickly replied, "These people seem to be local thugs, and I don't know who instructed them to monitor Frank."

Adam looked at Frank's file and suddenly noticed a clue. He said, "Wait, the file says that Frank's last operation seems to have involved someone. Let's find out who that person is."

After hearing this, Athena quickly checked and said, "Alright, Master, I found out. He was the only son of US Congressman Edward Shermill. During the last mission to raid a drug trafficking ring, he somehow ended up in that place and was killed in the explosion while caught up in this mission."

Adam said after hearing this, "So, it's very likely that this senator is seeking revenge. Damn it, to blow up a restaurant just to kill the Frank family, without caring about the lives of the other people inside. These guys are all parasites. Can we find any evidence?"

After hearing this, Athena shook her head and said, "There's nothing I can do, Master. There's no information available."

Adam had only asked casually and hadn't had high hopes, so he wasn't surprised.

At this moment, Athena said, "Master, Frank may not be dead."

Upon hearing this, Adam immediately remembered the missing person and said, "That makes sense. As a battle-hardened elite warrior, he would definitely wake up earlier than the average person. So the person who left just now must be him."

After listening, Athena pulled up the video from earlier and analyzed it, saying, "Based on my analysis, there's an 80% chance that the FBI is still searching there, so they're probably looking for Frank."

Adam asked, "So, are Frank's wife and son dead?" He had been so focused on saving people that he hadn't noticed those who were already dead.

Athena checked again and said, "Frank's wife died on the spot, and it seems that you have already saved his son. He should still be in the hospital."

After hearing this, Adam said, "I'll go to the hospital to see a doctor. I don't think Edward Shemir will let this go."

Athena replied, "Alright, I'll investigate Frank's son's whereabouts right away and then send it to you."

Adam nodded and said, "Okay, I'm off then!" and left.

===========================

On the other side, in a secluded corner of the artificial lake in Central Park, after a ripple, a person emerged from the lake. He looked around cautiously, then limped away.

He walked to a roadside phone booth, took out a few coins from his pocket, struggled to press a few numbers, and said, "Come pick me up!" Then he couldn't hold on any longer and fainted.

Less than ten minutes later, a black car sped up and stopped on the side of the road. A middle-aged man in a black trench coat got out, holding a device in his hand, and then found the person lying in the phone booth.

He shook him gently and said, "Frank? Wake up! Damn, you're bleeding so much." After shaking him a few times, he realized that the other man was bleeding profusely, so he quickly carried Frank to the car and drove away.

Shortly after the black car drove away, an FBI team emerged from the other side, seemingly having followed Frank's bloodstains here. The leader was the same man Adam had met before; he glanced at the bloodstains inside the phone booth and said coldly, "Damn it, he got away again!"
