Natasha said calmly, "Okay, I understand!" After hanging up, she stared blankly at the very hidden letter A on the communicator.

As for Adam, when he learned that the so-called Black Widow was actually his first love, Natalie, he suddenly understood everything. He understood why Natalie was so shy when he first wanted to take her home, to the point that Adam didn't end up introducing her to his parents. He also understood why she disliked having her picture taken, and how she had been perfectly fine just a few days before suddenly falling seriously ill and dying.

Everything was orchestrated by S.H.I.E.L.D., perhaps for control, or something else entirely. Natalie wasn't shy about meeting her parents; she was afraid Howard Stark would discover her identity. Perhaps his sudden death was also because her father discovered his identity, and S.H.I.E.L.D. feared his retaliation, so they devised this plan to make Natalie—no, Natasha—leave them.

Adam came from the priest's base, running all the way without any thought in his mind. He didn't know where he was going, and he ran recklessly on the road, relying on his remaining rationality to avoid pedestrians and cars as he ran forward.

Athena saw her master running around like this and called out a few times, but found that Adam, who usually had sharp hearing, did not react at all. "Athena, why did you shock me with electricity?"

Although Adam and Athena could not touch each other's bodies, Adam seemed to sense Athena's feelings for him at this moment, and murmured, "Athena! It's so good to have you!"

Adam rudely interrupted Natasha, saying, "Alright, Agent Natasha, you're not getting any more information from me. If you're so capable, go in yourself!" He then ignored Natasha, had Athena open the door, and went inside.

Natasha was silent for a moment, then said, "Whether you believe it or not, I haven't told Nick your true identity. Also, my love for you has always been real, and it still is!" After saying that, she turned and left.

Adam, who had already entered the living room, sighed softly. He knew Natasha hadn't lied to him, but for both of them, it was too late. They were now just familiar strangers.

Meanwhile, Natasha wiped away her tears, drove her sports car away from Adam's villa, and then called Maria Hill on the way to ask her out for drinks.

She then told them to go back first and hailed a taxi alone to head to the location Natasha had indicated.

"What exactly happened?"

Natasha downed her drink in one gulp and said, "Hehe, don't ask so many questions. Come on, drink with me! I feel a bit bored drinking alone."
