Adam walked over and gently kissed his woman, saying, "You're so beautiful."
"Am I not pretty normally?" Christine rolled her eyes reproachfully.
"Not really, but she's more beautiful than ever before," Adam said, secretly making a decision in his heart to propose to Christine as soon as possible.
Adam had originally planned to propose to Christine after the unknown crisis had passed, but seeing the longing in Christine's eyes as she wore her wedding dress, he suddenly realized that he had been too selfish all along.
"Hey, we're the ones getting married, what are you two doing?" Susan said, somewhat annoyed by the two of them being all lovey-dovey.
“It feels like something’s missing,” Adam said, linking arms with Christine as they walked up to Susan and Dr. Reed.
"Oh, something's missing? What is it?" Susan looked around and asked, "Is it some jewelry?"
"No, your Mr. Reed doesn't seem to have changed into his suit yet. He really doesn't look good with you," Adam joked.
"Oh, you mean me?" Dr. Reed shrugged and said, "I haven't had time to choose my suit yet, but there are only a few suits for men, so there's no need to worry."
“You should thank Susan,” Christine rolled her eyes at Dr. G. Derek, “otherwise, I really don’t know if any woman would still like you, hmph.”
“Well, you don’t have to say that.” Dr. Reed glanced awkwardly at Susan and said, “Alright, I’ll choose a dress as soon as possible.”
"Alright, I understand your feelings." Susan smiled slightly and said, "Okay, let's not talk about that anymore. How do I look in this outfit?"
"Yes, it's beautiful." Dr. Reed smiled, feeling a warmth in his heart as he saw Susan change the subject.
"There are still a few more, I'll go change some more." Susan smiled slightly and pulled Christine away from Dr. Reed, returning to the inner changing room once again.
After Susan left, Dr. Reed breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Ah, I was so nervous."
Adam found it amusing and said, "You're actually quite nervous. That's rare to see."
"If it's something like a scientific presentation, I'm not nervous, but getting married... to be honest, I've been so nervous lately that I've shifted my focus to all sorts of experiments, almost causing Susan to misunderstand," Dr. Reed sighed.
"I see." After listening, Adam said, "Perhaps you can choose to talk to her. After all, you are going to live together soon, so don't worry about her laughing at you."
Just then, Susan came out of the fitting room in a different wedding dress and approached Dr. Reed, asking for his opinion. However, the taciturn doctor could only repeat phrases like "beautiful," "very pretty," and "so gorgeous," almost infuriating Susan.
"Hmph, I'm not choosing!" Susan immediately disappeared, took off her clothes, and then vanished without a trace.
"Oh, Susan, listen to me, that's not what I meant!"
Dr. Reed saw Susan give Christine and Adam an apologetic smile and immediately chased after her. Although he didn't know where Susan, who was now invisible, was, Dr. Reed knew where Susan would eventually go.
"What's this?" Christine looked at the two people's backs, then at the shop assistant standing next to her, and said speechlessly.
"It might be pre-wedding anxiety. I can tell Dr. Reed is very nervous," Adam said with a smile.
"So what should we do now?" Christine looked at the wedding dress Susan had worn before and said, "Won't we have to postpone it again?"
"I don't know either. How about we buy all these wedding dresses and send them over?" Adam suggested.
Christine rolled her eyes after hearing this and said, "How could they do that? Sigh, those two are really something. I kind of regret going to their wedding as a bridesmaid."
“You’re just saying that, Susan is your good friend,” Adam said with a smile.
"Forget it, I'd better choose dresses for the bridesmaids and some of my girlfriends first, honestly!" Christine said, looking at Adam, and said, "You're not thinking of sneaking off, are you?"
Adam was taken aback, then shook his head and said, "How could that be? I have nothing to do right now, so I'll keep you company while you choose a dress."

Chapter 338 Five Days Before the Wedding (A Reminder from a Fellow Villager)
Time passed slowly, and Susan and Dr. Reed's wedding day was drawing ever closer. All the necessary preparations had been completed, but at this very moment, a very strange thing happened.
Inside the watchtower, Dr. Reed, who should have been arranging the wedding, was instead watching with Adam a strange silver light that Athena had previously photographed.
"What exactly is this thing?" Dr. Reed asked.
“We don’t know either. We initially thought it was a meteor or something, but its trajectory didn’t resemble one at all, which is why I came to you.” Adam stroked his chin and said, “Athena recorded some data from that time. Take a look.”
“Okay, let me see. But where is this silver light manifested?” Dr. Reed asked while looking at the data.
“I don’t know. The first time it flashed by outside the solar system,” Athena explained at this moment. “The second time was near Jupiter.”
"That means it might be heading towards Earth," Adam concluded definitively.
"Coming for Earth? Why would you think that? Perhaps they're just passing through the solar system." Dr. Reed put the data aside and said, "Besides, it's not clear from this data."
"As expected?" Adam sighed and said, "It seems we didn't have enough information."
"Judging from the speed of this silver light, I think it will be arriving on Earth very soon," Dr. Reed said.
"Yes, according to my estimate, that thing should arrive on Earth in three or four days," Athena said with certainty.
"Three or four days?" Adam knew that when information was incomplete, anything could go wrong, so he said, "Then let's go back today. I heard you're going to Los Angeles in a few days, is that right?"
"Did Miss Christine say that? Yes, I have some business to attend to." Dr. Reed said with a smile, "So, for the time being, I'll leave things here to you and Miss Christine."
Since they hadn't found any other clues in the watchtower all morning, Adam and Dr. Reed returned to Earth first, while Athena stayed in the watchtower to monitor some abnormal events in the solar system. Fortunately, it was the technological power that Adam brought back from another world that made it possible to monitor the entire solar system from around Earth.
To be honest, only a pure energy life form like Athena could tolerate spending almost all day in this tranquil universe, since the other members of the Justice League don't spend all their time in the Watchtower either.
On this day, Athena was controlling some instruments in the watchtower to monitor the solar system while constantly analyzing the silver light that had appeared earlier. Although Dr. Reed said that there wasn't much data to determine whether the other party had any ill intentions towards Earth, judging from the other party's movement trajectory and speed, it was clear that it was coming for Earth.
Just then, Athena suddenly discovered that one of the monitoring devices had received a strange frequency band, a mysterious frequency band that had never been encountered on Earth before. Athena immediately began to analyze the information in it.
Athena originally intended to read the message using some universal language obtained from the Chitauri, but she discovered that if she did so, the message was simply gibberish and she had no idea what it meant.
Athena switched to another dialect to analyze the message, but found that even so, the message she had just received had no specific meaning. This puzzled Athena greatly, but she had a strong intuition that the message was very important. Although she didn't know what her intuition was, Athena, who had always studied magic and other mystical powers, chose to trust her intuition.
"What is it?" Athena asked softly, her brows furrowed.
Then Athena suddenly decided to try interpreting the message in English, since it wasn't a message from Earth. If someone from somewhere else wanted to send a message to Earth, they would likely use English, since humans on Earth have never been in contact with other planets and therefore don't know how to use a universal language.
"Hmm, so that's how it is after all?" Athena looked at the increasingly clear message and said with a slight smile, "Let's see who you really are. Huh, what? What is this message?"
Athena was instantly shocked, and then immediately contacted Adam.
-----------------------------
At Adam's house, Christine, who had to postpone her plans today because of the silver light incident, was resting at home. After Adam returned, she decided not to go out today, but to stay home, cook something nice, and enjoy some time alone together.
But all of this was ruined by a phone call.
“Athena, what happened?” Adam asked.
“Master, I have discovered a very important piece of information,” Athena said immediately.
"A very important message? What is it?" Adam asked, puzzled.
“A message from space, sent by an Earthling named Star-Lord,” Athena explained. “So, please return to the Watchtower, Master.”
“Alright, get ready to teleport, I’m leaving right away!” Adam said immediately upon hearing this.
"What happened?" Christine, who was next to Adam, asked in confusion when she saw Adam suddenly stand up.
“Athena has discovered something, so I have to go back,” Adam explained.
"Do you need me to come with you?" Christine asked.
"No need. You've been so busy these past few days. You can rest today, so take a good rest. I'll take care of things at the watchtower." Adam kissed Christine's cheek, then contacted Athena and disappeared in a burst of light.
Christine sighed after seeing this and said, "Sure enough, something has happened again."
-----------------Watchtower------------
"Star-Lord? Who is he?" Adam asked, stroking his chin after reading the message from the person claiming to be Star-Lord.
"I don't know, but he should be an Earthling. According to him, it seems that no one in the outer star systems knows that Earth exists," Athena analyzed.
“Of course, that’s assuming what he said is true.” Adam frowned and said, “And what he said seems to be that a cosmic overlord called Thanos has his eye on Earth and has even sent a lot of aliens to search for Earth.”
"Yes, to become the overlord of the universe, one must be incredibly powerful," Athena remarked. "But when did we offend this overlord of the universe?"
“It must be Loki’s doing,” Adam guessed. “I remember he mentioned something about ‘that person,’ without even naming him. And this message also mentioned that even other aliens wouldn’t call him by his name; they would refer to him as ‘that person.’”
"Is there something on Earth that they're eyeing?" Athena thought for a moment and said, "Could it be the Tesseract?"
"It seems that's the case. Could it be that the silver light we encountered earlier was an alien or an alien spaceship that came to probe Earth's location?" Adam guessed.
“That’s possible, of course, it’s also possible that Star-Lord is lying,” Athena said.
“You’re right. It’s also possible that Star-Lord is trying to find Earth’s location this way because he can’t find it,” Adam nodded and said.
"What should we do now?" Athena asked.
"There's nothing we can do. If that Thanos guy is really that powerful, we can only passively defend ourselves. So all we can do now is wait." Adam sighed. "Just keep observing this matter. Sooner or later, those people will find out Earth's location. After all, back in the 1960s, they launched so many satellites, which carried a lot of information about Earth."
Chapter 339 Before the Wedding (Part 6: The End of the World?)
A week before the wedding, at the watchtower
"Master, that silver light just appeared!" Athena reported to Adam immediately after seeing the fleeting flash of light.
"What? A silver radiance has appeared?" Adam asked in surprise. "Where?"
"He's already hurtling into Earth. He's too fast, and he's on the other side of the planet, so I couldn't lock onto him immediately," Athena said with some self-reproach.
“Go find him immediately. Oh, right, you just mentioned ‘him,’ right?” Adam asked.
“That’s right. Although he was going too fast, I still found a photo of him before he approached Earth. It showed a person covered in silver flying at high speed on something that looked like a skateboard,” Athena said immediately.
“Send me the photos you just got, I’ll see if I can find them.” Adam pondered for a moment and said, “Also, keep observing. Oh, by the way, activating the watchtower’s stealth mode gives me a somewhat uneasy feeling.”
“Understood. Should I notify the others?” Athena asked.
"Notify all S-class superheroes with flight abilities and send them that guy's picture." Adam said to Athena, then received the picture of the silver-haired man. He narrowed his eyes and said, "Alright, I've received the surfer's picture."
"That's a nice name, Master." Athena smiled slightly and then said, "Alright, I've already transmitted the data to the personal terminals of all S-class superheroes capable of flight."
"Continue monitoring, and also remind them that the target is likely quite strong," Adam said before hanging up.
Since Christine and Susan went to Los Angeles together, while Adam stayed in New York City alone, Adam didn't need to tell Christine. He simply left home and took off, flying to the other side of the world.
On that very day, most of New York City saw superheroes flying around in the sky and began to speculate whether something was about to happen. Meanwhile, a fishing boat in a sea off Japan sent a distress signal, saying that the entire sea had frozen over in an instant.
Although the news had not yet reached people around the world, Athena told Adam immediately, and Adam immediately went to the waters off Japan and saw the frozen sea and the fishing boat.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Adam greeted the person wearing the clothes through the language translator.
"Oh, it's Superman. My God, did you come to save us?" the middle-aged man, who seemed to be the captain, said with a face full of gratitude.
"Uh, okay, I'll save you, but you have to tell me what happened first." Adam looked around and found that the entire sea was frozen over. If he didn't help, it seemed that these people really wouldn't be able to get back, so he agreed to their plea for help.
