"You mean this?" Loki twirled his staff, chuckling wickedly. "You're right. My courage comes from this staff in my hand, from the person I met in that foreign land. Even if it was my father—oh, right, I think that old guy wasn't my father—he probably wasn't a match for that person either."

"An outsider!" Adam said coldly. "An outsider and a person from afar are your sources of confidence? How naive."

"Naive? Heh, once you become one of my people, you won't say such things anymore." After Loki finished speaking, his staff flashed towards Adam's chest.

Chapter 297 The Battle of New York Part 2

On a street next to Stark Tower in Manhattan, New York City, Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four used his physical abilities to connect the two buildings and then shot down the Chitauri's fast-moving aircraft. He then shrunk back to normal human size and sighed wearily as he watched the increasing number of aliens.

How are you?

The Invisible Woman used her ability to control magnetic fields to levitate next to Mr. Fantastic, asking him with concern, and used her abilities to block the alien's attack.

"It's nothing, just a little tired. These guys seem to multiply the more we fight them." Mr. Fantastic stood up, frowning as he asked, "Hasn't Superman come back yet?"

"I contacted Athena. Apparently, she's helping S.H.I.E.L.D. deal with the damaged engine of the Helicarrier. Looks like that evil god really knows how to use a diversionary tactic." After saying this, the Invisible Woman shouted to the Human Torch, who was circling in the sky, "Hey, Johnny, stop playing around! There are more and more enemies. Be careful!"

Thunderbolt, engulfed in flames, quickly arrived at his sister's side. Now transformed into a fire-human form, he chuckled and said, "Don't worry, sister, these aliens are no match for me."

“Be careful, Johnny. There are just too many aliens, and they’re all armed with energy weapons. Your defenses are the weakest here, so don’t let your guard down,” Mr. Fantastic said. “Alright, let’s keep fighting. Professor X and the others seem to have arrived, so we won’t be fighting alone.”

“Oh, let’s do it this way. I just agreed to Spider-Man’s suggestion.” Human Torch said with a smile, “We’re going to have a competition to see who can eliminate more aliens.”

After saying that, Thunderbolt suddenly spewed out flames and disappeared instantly.

"This child, really," the invisible woman said, shaking her head helplessly.

"Heh, I think he's quite happy right now, as if he's found his mission." Mr. Fantastic sighed and said, "It seems that among the four of us, he's the only one who's selling his transformations."

"Huh? Adam and the others are back." Phoenix smiled slightly and said, "And it seems they've already engaged that evil god in battle. It looks like today's fight will be over soon."

Just then, the sky suddenly darkened, and a huge monster flew out of the portal. The monster looked like a whale, but its head seemed to be the head of a dragon, which was very ferocious. It kept flying in the sky and destroyed all the spider webs that Spider-Man pointed out.

"A decent one has arrived." Phoenix looked at the enormous monster and said coldly, "It seems our strength has been recognized."

"You stay here and watch over those students, I'm going to deal with this big guy!" Wolverine said excitedly to Phoenix, looking at the huge monster in the sky, and then instantly took off.

"Honestly, they get overly excited as soon as they see a battle."

Phoenix smiled slightly as she watched Wolverine's retreating figure, then turned her gaze to the upperclassmen and teachers of Xavier's School of the Arts fighting nearby. On the top floor of Stark Tower, Adam dodged Loki's staff aimed at his chest, looked at Loki with a cold smile, and said, "You don't think your little tricks have gone unnoticed, do you?"

"Oh, what are you talking about?" Loki asked with a fake smile, not expecting the other party to be so fast.

"Hmph, you and your brother are far too inferior. At least he can fight me. As for you..." Adam glanced at Loki with disdain and said indifferently, "You're nothing but a piece of trash being used by others."

Upon hearing this, Loki instantly recalled the humiliation he had suffered in that terrible space. To obtain this army, he, the mighty god of gods and king of Asgard, had fallen at the feet of this man like a servant, begging for his help to conquer Earth. He then roared, "I will make you, and all those who oppose me, taste the consequences of defying God! I will make you wish you were dead!"

Chapter 298 The Battle of New York (Part 3)

Loki's sudden outburst surprised Adam, who was clearly unaware of the humiliation Loki had suffered in the alien realm. However, Adam reacted swiftly, dodging Loki's attack and then sending a heat ray flying. ★★

Just as Adam was about to continue beating Loki, Thor descended from the sky and came to Adam's side, saying, "Please leave Loki to me, I will deal with him."

Adam smiled slightly and said, "Why should I?"

"You... I came here because it was the people of Asgard who caused this trouble on Earth!" Knowing that his father was still alive, and having regained his divine power due to his clear mind, Thor did not bow his head. Instead, he said in a deep voice, "Please believe me, Asgard does not intend to fight Earth, nor does it intend to interfere in Earth's affairs. We simply want to help."

“Master, don’t waste time over there. A big guy has arrived, and they need your help.” Adam was about to say something when Athena’s voice reached his ears.

“Okay, I’m coming right now.” Adam pressed the button on the communicator in his ear, then said to Thor, “Alright, I’ll trust you this time. Don’t let your brother get away again.”

Thor himself was a rather proud man, so he certainly wouldn't be happy with Adam's cold words. He snorted and said, "Don't worry, we Asgardians keep our word. But there's one thing I need to say first: Loki is, after all, one of the princes of Asgard. Although he made a mistake on Earth, the place where he will be interrogated in the end can only be Asgard. This is my father's will."

"Don't try to pressure me with your father. Loki is yours, but the Tesseract must remain," Adam said in a deep voice.

"No, don't you know that this whole thing happened because the Tesseract exists on Earth?" Thor shook his head and said, "The Tesseract is my father's treasure; it can't stay on Earth!"

"If it were truly your father's treasure, it wouldn't remain on Earth." Adam's expression turned grim. He said coldly, "Don't think I'm truly afraid of your father. I've already given you face by agreeing to let Loki go back with you. Don't push your luck!"

Thor was furious upon hearing this and exclaimed, "You—!"

Before he could finish speaking, Adam interrupted him, saying, "There's no room for discussion on this. The Cosmic Cube belongs to Earth. And if you don't stop your brother, he might die on Earth!"

Thor turned his head and saw that his brother seemed to be heading towards a woman who was radiating golden light. He vaguely knew that the woman was the one who had easily defeated him and his friends last time. No, she should be called a goddess.

"This guy!" Thor sighed, "Let's talk about this later." With that, he spun his hammer, Mjolnir, and soared into the sky, leaving Stark Tower.

Adam didn't stop Thor from leaving, but followed him out of Stark Tower. The giant alien creature Athena had mentioned flew past Stark Tower, which explained why Athena said everyone needed him. "Dude, what are you doing?" Adam had just come out when he heard Tony's message. Tony said helplessly, "If you don't come out soon, I'm going to be eaten by this giant monster. Hey, that's a good idea!"

"Hey, Tony! What are you trying to do? Hey, what a reckless guy!"

Adam panicked upon hearing Tony's words; he had already guessed what Tony was planning to do. Besides blaming Tony for his recklessness, he also felt a pang of self-reproach. If he hadn't just been entangled with Thor, perhaps Tony wouldn't have come up with such a terrible idea.

Adam flew forward somewhat angrily, stomped the guy he had seen before to death with a powerful kick, then killed all the aliens in his way, and flew into the air to use his super vision to search for Tony's whereabouts.

"You better not be so reckless next time," Adam said, letting out a sigh.

"Ah, don't worry, I regretted it as soon as I finished it." Tony, wearing his Iron Man suit, hovered beside Adam, opened his mask, and said with a smile, "But at least it was a success."

"Athena, report the current situation!" Adam said to Athena while using his heat ray to shoot down the alien flying cavalry, seeing that Tony was alright.

“Master, although we have successfully held off the aliens within four city blocks with our mechanical forces and these super heroes, both the energy of the robot forces and the stamina of the super heroes are starting to decline significantly. If this continues, we are very likely to lose.” Athena calmly analyzed the battle situation and said, “Therefore, I think we should find a way to destroy the space-time gate as soon as possible. The alien forces are increasing in number.”

“I understand. What about the casualties?” Adam asked in a deep voice.

Adam and Tony's communication channels are not the same, so Adam did not hear the message from Black Widow Natasha earlier.

“Okay, I’ll tell Christine right away.” After Adam finished speaking, he suddenly seemed to sense something, looked up at the portal, and said, “Something seems to be about to come out. You go ahead, I’ll go check it out!”

Chapter 299 The Battle of New York (Part 4)

The creature has a very calm expression. This is Thanos, the Titan who reigns supreme in this alien world, and the mastermind behind the Chitauri invasion of Earth.

He sat on his throne, watching a scene on a screen in the void before him. It was the Chitauri invasion of Earth. He saw the Chitauri, led by Loki, constantly entering the portal and being slaughtered by the natives of the planet Loki called Earth. Well, at least from the current perspective, this invasion seemed to be a one-sided massacre on Earth's side.

"Hmph, this seems a little different from what that kid Loki said back then." He said casually, with a hint of mockery in his voice.

Upon hearing Thanos's words, the leader of the Chitauri lowered his head and said, "That's true. It's a pity that it's wartime now, so we can't summon that guy's spirit."

"Hmm, this is indeed somewhat unexpected." Thanos rested his chin on his hand, looking at the scene on the virtual screen, and said, "Continuing like this will only send people to their deaths, and it's pointless. Tell your generals to set off immediately, let me see what they're capable of!"

"Huh? What did you say?" Tony asked, somewhat puzzled. They had already found a way to close the portal, so why did his older brother seem even more serious?
