After casting various defensive spells on himself, he pushed open the curtain. In the darkness, he saw a mother carrying a child stumbling towards him, her hair disheveled and wearing a dirty nightgown, holding a child of about three or four years old in her arms.
"What happened?" Felix asked her in a deep voice, as screams and explosions erupted in the distance.
“There was a riot… those fans… no, they were thugs! They were setting fires everywhere…” the woman in front of me said, her face pale and still showing signs of shock and fear.
Lupin emerged from the tent, wand raised alertly. "What's going on?" He paused, startled, when he saw the woman.
“It must be some fans causing trouble,” Felix said. “Remus, look after them. And wake up Kremy and Arik while you’re at it, I’m going out to check it out.”
Lupin glanced at the woman and her child, nodded silently, and looked into the distance. The camp was ablaze with red firelight, and from afar came cries and anxious shouts.
Felix, wand in hand, hurried toward the source of the firelight.
On the road, you could see some dark figures, stumbling and walking with their families and one or two crying children by their side, all heading towards the woods to escape.
Most of these people were caught off guard, wearing only pajamas, and some had even gotten separated from their families, calling out their names as they walked.
Not everyone panicked; some remained calm and helped maintain order. A very tall woman shouted in a loud voice that drowned out the surrounding noise: "Quiet! Students of Beauxbatons, raise your wands and light the way for others."
“Yes, Mrs. Maxim.” A group of young boys and girls answered in unison, lighting their wands. The panicked crowd around them followed the light and spontaneously moved closer, surrounding them.
“Follow me, take the path.” The woman called Mrs. Maxim led the way, occasionally turning back to reassure everyone in a calm voice, “Don’t panic, one after another, stay close!”
This woman was probably about the same height as Hagrid, but visually appeared taller because of her slender and graceful figure, unlike Hagrid's bulky build. Felix suspected she had giant blood, but she undoubtedly inherited the best features of both, with delicate features and elegant manners.
Moreover, it's clear that she holds a high position among these young wizards; she must be a professor.
In his haste, Felix didn't have time to think things through. They brushed past each other, and Felix headed against the direction the group was going, straight for the firelight. Halfway there, he saw some Ministry of Magic staff lying on the ground. They had been knocked unconscious, each of them struck by at least four or five Stunning Curses, along with some other random curses, and they looked quite disheveled.
Felix dragged them over and piled them together to prevent them from being stepped on. He then cast a levitation spell on himself and controlled himself to rise into the air, his gaze constantly scanning the surroundings.
Meanwhile, the procession continued to grow. Initially, there were only thirty-odd hooded wizards who wandered around the camp wearing masks. One of them grabbed the Muggle Roberts family from the edge of the camp and made them spin around on his head for his amusement.
Then more and more people joined in. There were fans who needed to vent because their team had lost the game, there were celebrants who had been drinking heavily all night, and there were thrill-seekers. They grew the momentum of the marching group to three or five hundred people, setting fires all over the camp and leaving behind burning tents.
By the light of the towering flames, they saw a figure standing in mid-air, looking down at them.
The protesters squinted; the man seemed to be able to fly, his eyes were terrifyingly bright, and even from hundreds of feet away, they could feel the anger in his gaze and the pressure he exerted on them.
"Master, Master—"
A hooded wizard shouted, his hands trembling uncontrollably.
In the procession, the dozens of hooded wizards at the head of the procession stirred. Two of them, unable to even hold their wands, knelt down in Felix's direction, crying, "Master, we have been longing for your return—"
“Don’t talk nonsense, that’s Felix Heap!” a hoarse voice said.
Felix moved. A massive amount of light gathered in his palm, then rapidly expanded, and he threw a huge ball of light into the sky, temporarily replacing the barely visible gray-green dawn on the horizon.
The light was like the winter sun, bright but not dazzling, instantly filling every inch of space and every shadow, even obscuring the moon hanging high in the sky, making the entire camp as bright as day.
Felix took in all the chaos—
To his right was a procession of people, led by thirty or forty hooded and masked wizards, presumably the ringleaders of the unrest. They huddled together in a dense formation, slowly advancing. Above them, four struggling figures floated in the air, twisted into bizarre shapes—ordinary people in pajamas, helplessly manipulated like puppets by invisible strings.
Around the hooded man, hundreds of rioting fans had gathered. Judging from their attire, they were probably from different countries, drawn together by a shared interest or a fondness for chaos. These latecomers had a purer purpose: to vent their anger and create chaos. Some wore comical masks they'd found somewhere, some simply covered their faces with a cloth, and others boldly exposed their faces, drunkenly waving their wands and sending sparks flying.
Behind the parade—on both sides of the road they passed—burning tents were left behind, like giant torches.
The surrounding area was filled with fleeing crowds, the screams of women, the cries of children, and the frantic calls of men all mingled together.
When Felix's magic illuminated the entire camp, they discerned their direction and, no longer like headless flies, led their families away from the procession.
In every corner of the camp, countless people looked up at Felix's figure in mid-air, their hearts filled with shock.
A small path at the edge of the woods—
"Look at that person! He's floating in the sky!"
“Where is Mrs. Maxim? We can’t find her—” a little girl with thick curly hair called out to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The three of them had been separated from the adults and then from Ginny and the twins. They had just come to a path at the edge of the woods.
The place was packed with people, all of them peering in fear toward the camp.
"Who is Madam Maxim?" Harry asked nervously. He had just knocked out a drunkard with his wand, and he, Ron, and Hermione had hidden the drunkard in the bushes.
“They’re not from our school…” A young witch, about Hermione’s age, put her arm around the curly-haired girl, glanced at Harry and his two companions in the bright light, and whispered “Hogwarts.” Then, she and the others looked at Felix in mid-air.
"Who is he? Why can he fly?"
"Was he the leader? I saw some of the protesters kneel down before him—"
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Hermione shouted angrily at the man. She looked over there with concern and whispered, “It’s Professor Hyp. He should be trying to stop the riot. It’s too dangerous. We shouldn’t fight directly… There are hundreds of people.”
Harry looked over and saw that the professor's magic illuminated the camp. They could see clearly that a dozen colorful spells were flying toward the professor from among the marchers, but most of them were crooked and off-target.
Ron reassured them, "Professor Hyp is four or five hundred feet away from them. Don't worry, there's no chance of a fight."
……
Felix illuminated the camp with his luminosity, and some of the marchers immediately became uneasy—the darkness had given them the courage to do evil, but when the light came, they could only hide their filth and avoid being discovered.
People kept breaking away from the group and quietly leaving.
But a considerable number of people remained where they were, making noise, pointing at Felix, and deliberately shooting sparks and casting spells in a provocative manner.
On the other side of the parade, Mr. Weasley, Bill, Charlie, and Sirius seemed hesitant. Charlie asked, "Dad, what should we do?"
Mr. Weasley looked at the floating Roberts family and said, "We can't act rashly; it would be bad if we hurt them."
They were worried because several Aurors from the Ministry of Magic had tried to approach the Roberts family by pretending to be protesters, but they were all attacked.
“They’ll be gone soon,” Mr. Weasley said with certainty, though he was somewhat annoyed. “Gutter rats! These bastards are lawless! If only we could catch them all—”
Sirius pointed to the sky and said, "There are people who think the same way you do."
Felix remained calm. He stretched out his hand and pointed forward. A bolt of black lightning struck, and almost simultaneously, a hooded wizard was pierced through the chest.
Chapter 342 Stop
The marchers stood frozen in place, thinking they were seeing things, but the hooded wizard who had been struck by lightning stared in disbelief at his blood-stained chest, took a few steps forward, turned back to look at his companion, and slowly collapsed.
Among the leading hooded wizards, one leaned down to look. "Seriously injured, but not dead yet." He had just dodged the second bolt of black lightning that was flying towards him, which struck the man behind him in the abdomen.
Immediately afterwards, Felix pinched black lightning between his fingertips, which crackled and exploded. Tiny arcs of electricity, like a giant net, enveloped them. These tiny black arcs were not as powerful as the first two bolts of lightning, but they were much more troublesome. One by one, the marchers were struck by the arcs like wheat, convulsing and collapsing to the ground.
The hooded wizards were the first to react. They pulled their two injured companions to the back, erected magical barriers and shields, and counterattacked through the gaps while constantly retreating to hide themselves in the center of the procession.
But while they were safer, they were further away from Felix, and most of the spells dimmed and disappeared in mid-air.
"Fight back! He's all alone—" shouted a red-faced sorcerer who was completely oblivious to the situation. He held a wand in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other, his beard unkempt, and he was drunkenly babbling on.
"He's too far away!" someone shouted furiously.
The drunken, red-faced sorcerer shouted, "Follow me!" He and a dozen or so men of similar appearance charged toward Felix, closing in on him. Most of the marchers watched coldly. Sure enough, a black arc of electricity struck them. Without even chanting the most basic defensive spells, they collapsed to the ground like broken dolls, groaning in agony.
The next second, Felix vanished from mid-air and suddenly appeared fifty feet in front of these people. His expression was cold, as if covered with frost, and there seemed to be flames dancing in his eyes.
“Foolish people.” His gaze did not linger on the wizards charging at him; they were all fools caught up in the chaos. His eyes were fixed on the main procession.
"Damn it! Is he trying to take on all of us by himself?" someone shouted indignantly.
Before they could react, a powerful burst of light from the tip of Felix's black wand exploded, the red glow illuminating everyone's faces.
Felix's target was clear: the group of hooded wizards hiding in the middle of the group. They were likely the organizers of the riot, and since they were dressed in uniform and worked together well, they probably knew each other and had even fought together before.
The names of famous and not-so-famous wizarding groups flashed through my mind, but the most likely one was—
“Death Eaters,” Felix murmured.
These marchers were a complete mob, with no coordination among themselves. They haphazardly cast spells, some even interfering with each other and causing spellcasting to fail. This allowed Felix's spells to flow freely, and his powerful disarming spell sent them flying one by one.
But the counterattack came quickly.
Felix had to raise a golden shield that seemed unbreakable, and various spells clattered against it. Individual spells had little effect on it, but there were too many people facing him. The spells connected and formed a dense beam of light. After more than ten seconds, the golden shield finally gave way and collapsed into golden specks of light. Before that, he had already moved to another position.
Felix would occasionally use Apparition to suddenly disappear, dodging the concentrated fire spells, and then reappear a dozen feet away. Each appearance was accompanied by several spells, which would create arcs from various hidden corners, knocking several people unconscious.
The spells kept chasing his figure, but they couldn't touch the hem of his clothes. When he felt pressured, Felix would quickly switch to the other side of the team, and each time he would get six or seven kills.
The scene was in complete chaos, and no one paid any attention to the Roberts family floating in mid-air. When the levitation charm wore off, they screamed and fell from the sky. Felix suddenly appeared, extended his wand, froze them, and moved them sideways to the side, preparing to hand them over to the Ministry of Magic staff not far away.
The three remaining staff members narrowly escaped the marchers' attacks and followed behind the procession, hoping to rescue the Roberts family. However, they shared Mr. Weasley's concerns and hesitated to use magic for fear of accidentally injuring anyone.
"Great opportunity—" someone shouted from the crowd of protesters.
They all raised their wands and shot spells of various colors toward Felix. The dense magical light illuminated the surroundings, making them glow red. However, the spells stopped three feet away from Felix and formed a wall of spells.
These spells didn't stop, but moved forward in slow motion. Felix deftly dodged a few steps to the side, and after two or three seconds, spells flew out with a "whoosh," smashing small pits on the ground, some charred and some rotten, with grass clippings flying everywhere.
In those few seconds, the Roberts family was safely taken into the hands of Ministry of Magic staff. "Thank you, Mr. Hyp!" a Ministry of Magic staff member shouted, using a spell to help them.
His thanks were nothing short of a mockery of the marchers. A malevolent curse flew out from the crowd toward the Roberts family. Suddenly, several people appeared, including Mr. Weasley, who erected an armored curse. Charlie and Bill stood guard on either side, while Sirius stepped forward and deflected the curse.
"Well done, Arthur," the Ministry of Magic official said happily.
Felix whirled around, his ebony wand piercing out like a sword, and a burst of golden flame exploded in the crowd. The wizard who had launched the sneak attack was engulfed in flames, emanating a burnt smell.
By this time, many people, seeing the situation was not good, hurriedly used Apparition to escape, including the hooded wizards.
Felix couldn't worry about much for the moment, so he could only cast a net-like pattern of black arcs of electricity, trying to form a closed electric grid. Once it was formed, it would be much harder for these people to Apparate.
In the chaos, a hooded wizard said in a hoarse voice, "I promise you—"
Felix paused slightly in his magic, and the hooded wizard used the opportunity to Apparate, taking with him his two companions whose chests were pierced by black lightning. The next second, the large net formed by black arcs of electricity completely closed, forming a sealed cage.
"Was there anything special about those two?" Felix thought carefully. At the time, they were standing in a position near the front, not exactly the leader, but close to the front.
If they are Death Eaters, it means those two people are not of low status.
Felix stood outside the cage, calmly casting a stun spell, as if catching turtles in a jar. The two hooded wizards who couldn't escape in time forcibly Apparated, only to scream in agony, leaving behind an arm and a leg.
At this point, Felix had to hold back. Most of these people were tourists from various countries. Even if it caused a riot, he couldn't kill anyone, or he would be in trouble too.
His first two powerful blows were aimed at the hooded wizard; whether anyone would die, he had no idea.
Mr. Weasley, Charlie, Bill, Sirius Black, and three other Ministry of Magic staff members came to help. They chanted spells through the gaps in the electric fence, and the people inside lay down in unison like wheat.
After a while, Felix dispelled the magic, revealing hundreds of marchers inside, including a dozen or so hooded wizards. He removed their masks, seeing faces that weren't entirely unfamiliar. Adding to this were the mangled limbs left behind from the splitting of his body, making the scene extremely gruesome.
Sirius looked at the hooded wizards and sneered disdainfully.
The riots have been completely quelled.
Silence. The surroundings were extremely quiet, as if the pause button had been pressed. Even the children's cries were silenced by their parents.
