He laughed heartily and placed the cards on the table. "It's alright, eat slowly. You won't have to worry about that damned curse or the Dark Lord who might attack in the future."

"Boom boom boom!"

There was a knock on the door.

For the first time, William didn't use a fake body; he simply pointed his wand at the doorway and said, "Please come in."

The person outside seemed stunned for a moment before tentatively opening the door and coming in—it was Harry.

"Harry, what's wrong? Is there a problem with not enjoying this rare holiday?"

"Come on, sit here and catch a Chocolate Frog—carefully draw the card first, let me see..."

Amid Harry's puzzled expression, William laughed wildly and placed a new Dumbledore card on the table.

"I knew it! It's not that easy. Tell me, what's wrong?"

"Yes, that professor..."

"The Dark Lord is dead. You find it hard to believe, feeling that it was your responsibility, but someone else accomplished it?"

"Um…"

"Is it because of a prophecy, someone else's words, or some inexplicable news?"

"Yes, it's Professor Trelawney."

Harry laughed awkwardly after he finished speaking—why did he come over to ask this just because Trelawney looked so disbelieving?

"Is it still divination, the so-called destiny?"

William smiled and shook his head. "You are his nemesis, and he is your nemesis. You are destined to fight each other, and only one of you can survive?"

"That's what I don't like about divination—it attributes everything to fate, and the more people resist, the closer they get to that damned end."

“That’s not right, Harry, that’s really not right—if Professor Trelawney says you’re a great apothecary, then the idea that you can become a great apothecary whether you study or not seems absurd to you…”

"Just like you, you have a high talent for combat, but if you don't train, can you really defeat a seventh-year student fair and square, without anyone thinking you just got lucky?"

"Self-defense techniques don't involve these things, Harry. Even the most troublesome Voldemort can only be driven away by the Patronus, and many people can still do that. Can you imagine a dangerous creature that even Dumbledore couldn't handle, and only you could deal with it?"

"Divination that cannot be changed through effort is not divination, Harry, I've always believed that. Fatalism and bloodline theory are the same thing—because they both deliberately create an innate fact that cannot be changed in order to construct their own absolute authority."

"If you don't believe your friend Granger is inherently inferior, how can you believe that only you can defeat the Dark Lord... Defeating him once is already a great honor, Harry."

"Alright, that's enough for now. It's getting late, you should get some rest. After this celebratory mini-holiday, our classes will get quite busy."

"The course is...tense?"

"Yeah, the OWLS exams. This year is the OWLS year for you guys, Harry."

"... "

"You don't think the exam will be canceled, do you? Impossible. Even if the Dark Lord comes knocking at our door, we still have to study."

"By the way, if you don't get an O on this exam, I'll make sure you don't have time to go on dates this semester. I'm not kidding, Harry—don't think that just because the Dark Lord is dead you don't need to study hard. Knowledge is knowledge, and I won't lie to you."

If it weren't for his painstaking research into poisons, the Dark Lord wouldn't have been so easily poisoned—that's the result of his hard work and accumulation of knowledge!

"Professor, OWL results won't be released until summer..."

Harry tried to explain.

"Oh, it's alright. I know Professor Machiban very well. I'll have the examiner prepare your score separately—I promise, if you fail, you'll be so busy you'll regret it."

William watched Harry hastily take his leave and flee in panic, a smile returning to his face—now…

...

"I knew it, it's Dumbledore's card again!"

Chapter 606+ The Future Is Still Long

Time flies...

"That's right. In the blink of an eye, Harry and the others are graduating... another batch of students have graduated."

“Of course, Dumbledore has been retired for two years,” Adams suddenly interjected, “Speaking of which, Dumbledore announced his retirement not long after the Man of the Void’s death, and I still can’t figure it out…”

William and Moody exchanged a glance, then smiled and echoed Adams's statement.

Although the Self-Defense Forces Offices currently have differing opinions in private, no one dares to voice their true thoughts to the public.

After all, Moody's view was that, considering Fudge's jealousy and his unwillingness to preside over the purge of the Death Eaters and Purifiers, it would be better to retire and be done with it—because Mr. Barty, whom Moody had always admired, had suffered a lot of setbacks in the fight against the Death Eaters.

Lupin's view is that Dumbledore probably wanted to experience a new life during the second battle and was ready to see different places—after all, he had been cooped up in the cave for so long, which had made the poor old headmaster very restless.

As for William, the group has always claimed that Dumbledore simply passed the buck to Professor McGonagall since the repair work wouldn't be finished anytime soon—after all, the school was safe after Voldemort's death, so they could just take their time repairing it.

This idea was initially met with disdain from the other two, but after two years, seeing that Professor McGonagall would still go to repair the stone pillars that had been repaired after class, they began to accept it—after all, this was the progress that Dumbledore made by coming to repair them for a week every month…

In short, the more enjoyable the protection system is to use, the more unpleasant it is afterwards…

Of course, William had another guess—but that was far too shocking, after all, resurrection was simply…

In any case, Dumbledore was enjoying his retirement, and William had successfully obtained the addresses of those shops. Although he could no longer count on the weekly specials, getting a batch of custom-made items every year was enough to make him very satisfied.

"By the way, Professor Lupin, which company did Harry ultimately sign with?"

William suddenly remembered this and asked Lupin about it.

"Charlie's Artillery Corps".

Lupin shook his head. "To be honest, I don't really think that team has a high chance of winning, but Harry thinks they can take it to the top."

“It’s still a bit of a pity,” Moody shook his head. “With his talent, if he had become an Auror, he would definitely have been the best.” “It’s nothing to regret, Professor Moody.”

William smiled. "Aurors are cool, professional Quidditch players are great, and he really loves Quidditch, doesn't he?"

"Besides, the magic he learns won't lie to him. Quidditch players also retire eventually. Who knows if he'll want to become an adventurer or follow in Ludo Bagman's footsteps and go into politics? The future is long, don't just look at the present."

“That makes sense. The future is still long,” Professor McGonagall suddenly walked over. “One batch of students will come in, and another batch will graduate. You’ll see in time.”

“Oh, right,” she suddenly remembered something, “I think Albus has been on a rather long vacation lately, so I’m thinking of ending his vacation.”

Please have some decency!

William's eyes widened, then he thought about the work in the office...

“I think this is a good idea, Professor.”

I think so too.

Moody spoke with a hint of glee—he was still paying off the debt of killing Voldemort, and hadn't retired yet.

...

"Oh, right..."

After obtaining the professors' unanimous agreement, Professor McGonagall turned around and said, "There's also a graduation ball this time, with several other schools. We'll take this opportunity to discuss preparations for the next Triwizard Tournament. Young professors, get ready."

...

"A three-way battle for supremacy? You must be joking, the next one is still a long way off."

After Professor McGonagall left, William calculated the time and said, "What a joke."

“I’m not kidding,” Professor Taylor said cheerfully, patting William on the shoulder. “Get ready, Professor William, and remember to dress smartly—like you said, the future is long!”

……

(The End...)

Before the Extra Chapter

I read some of the comments about the ending, and it seems quite heated...

But it all has to end eventually.

With Voldemort's death, the main storyline comes to an end.

The war with the Magical Congress of America will be written, but William will not be involved—the OWL exams are coming up soon, and he is a professor, not a soldier.

Perhaps influenced by some games, I prefer to give each character an ending—otherwise, who would say they want to write a side story right after the story ends?

The individual ending plot, the words strung together in the ending, are nothing more than one or two paragraphs - I prefer to write a separate side story to finish telling what happened in the ending, which is why I said yesterday that I would update the side story.

Those personal stories are probably like bayberries; they can't be strung onto grapes. They taste better when eaten alone—at least that's my opinion.

Why is it called bayberry? Because each story is wonderful, and it would be a waste to summarize it in one sentence. But no matter what, it can't be connected to grapes. If the main plot drags on any longer, it will just be endless water.

I'm still here. The side stories aren't even finished yet. Don't keep saying it's a bad ending. William's story in the end is complete enough. As for the plot holes for the other characters, they'll be filled in the side stories. Because—if you really wanted to be perfunctory, wouldn't it have been faster to just touch on it in a few sentences in the ending?

Alright, here's a bonus chapter—The Collapse of the Purgers.

Side Story 1: The Demise of the Purgers (Part 1)

"This is a lie! A complete and utter lie!"

In Ifamoni's principal's office, Bella's frantic and hysterical voice, even through the thick office door, terrified passersby.

The purgatory agent who came to deliver the message was now floating in mid-air, his face covered in blood, his hands frantically clawing at his neck, as if an invisible giant hand was strangling him.

"It's a notice from the British Ministry of Magic, Ms. Bella! They've declared war on us! It was Dumbledore who killed the Dark Lord!"

He screamed in mid-air in agony, but the oppressive feeling of being unable to breathe only intensified.

After about five minutes, or maybe longer—the purger finally let his arms fall limply, his neck tilted to the side, and he breathed his last.

“This is the consequence of spreading false information,” Bella’s gaze swept over everyone, like a slippery and cold snake, causing the Purifiers who met her gaze to lower their heads. “If I ever hear of anyone spreading such false information again, they will suffer the same fate.”

“Now, get back to your posts. If you delay the mission, I think you’ll know what’s going to happen.”

The purgers left the office trembling, their faces filled with uncertainty about the future and lingering fear—they knew neither what had happened nor what to do next.

They were summoned from the crowd by the Dark Lord, and then followed him in causing widespread destruction. Having only held power for a few days, everyone was in a state of panic after this sudden event.

After everyone left the office, Bella frantically locked the door and picked up the intelligence report again.

'Fake, fake, those guys from the Ministry of Magic, those guys from the Ministry of Magic…'

She accidentally dropped the intelligence reports several times, and finally had no choice but to slump over the table, flipping through the damned reports with trembling fingers.
