The long-haired prisoner, woken up by the noise, yawned. "What are you staring at? There's nothing for breakfast. It's not like any big shot is coming. They're respectable people. Even if they don't add a piece of chocolate or anything, they'll at least change the damn beans! Fuck your beans!"

This swear word resonated with everyone, and for a time, the entire cell was filled with criticism of that damned Bean and those damned prisoners who were about to be released but were dragged to cook.

"Hey, Blackie's gone, and now there's someone over there who's not wearing a uniform!"

The man guarding the window was cursing when he suddenly noticed something unusual through the iron bars.

"Not a new prisoner?"

"Definitely not, those hitters were quite polite!"

He shouted, which made all the prisoners in the cell stand up and try to squeeze through the small window to see what was happening.

However, the jailer quickly seized the best spot with his absolute authority, and the others were pushed to the side. Only one or two people could see the room, and the rest dared not be angry or speak out. They silently moved back a little, hoping to see something.

"Fuck your mother's balls!"

The jailer cursed, then, not satisfied, spat on the ground, "So many people have come, and the menu for breakfast hasn't even changed!"

After he finished cursing, he noticed that many of them were incredibly green youngsters. Although their expressions showed some discomfort, it hardly affected their curious and wide-eyed gazes and their eagerness to explore the outside world.

"They look like students!"

He stomped on the ground, then rubbed it. "Come and see!"

In less than half a minute, the prisoners who had surrounded the window began to murmur among themselves.

"Hey, they're students, then they're definitely students! Has the Ministry of Magic gone mad? Why are they sending so many students here?"

"Duh, how could they possibly imprison so many students all at once? The entrance to the Department of Magic would be blocked by angry parents. Besides, they don't look like Slytherin students. Slytherin students always try to act more mature. But what other house would send all its students to Azkaban?"

"They're probably here for class, right?"

A conman looked outside, then hesitantly came to a conclusion—aside from impossible options like Fudge going mad or Dumbledore going mad, this was the only plausible theory.

"Class? In Azkaban?"

Another prisoner blinked. "What are they planning to learn? Make contraband? Transport goods for the Ministry of Magic? Cast spells on Muggles? Or maybe help Gringotts with some of their business?"

His words caused everyone in the cell to burst into laughter—not everyone was friendly to cubs, especially since most of the prisoners here were scum and had no moral conscience whatsoever.

"Shout! Shout! We want chocolate! We want candy! We condemn the brutality of those who strike us!"

The cell boss laughed wildly as he offered his advice—he had gotten himself in by defrauding and imprisoning recent graduates, forcing them into high-intensity, high-risk jobs, and had almost been locked up in the innermost cell, so he had no psychological burden whatsoever about such things.

Moreover, these students actually had something to offer—to prevent them from developing serious psychological problems while surrounded by Dementors, each student was given some chocolates to eat whenever they wanted.

Moreover, this wasn't the only cellmate with this idea, because before the students arrived, there was a group of pitiful-looking prisoners over there, whispering and begging the students for chocolate.

-

"Professor William."

Lupin and his Hufflepuff students approached. "They've almost run out of chocolate chips. At this rate, there won't be enough chocolate chips to go around..."

"No rush."

William chuckled as he watched the students who were about to give away their last piece of chocolate, shook his head, and then looked at Lupin, "You'll see what these prisoners are like when they run out of chocolate."

"But we can't just not provide it to them, can we?"

Not giving students chocolate is not the way to conduct a class; that would be persecuting them.

"One point for a small piece of chocolate, I can afford to give them as many as they want. I've prepared a lot, enough for them to lose all their college points."

William squinted his eyes and ate a small piece with relish—that's the joy of having an endless supply of chocolate in Azkaban.

"One small piece?"

Lu Ping was stunned for a moment—if you calculate it this way, no college's score is enough to go around like that, and no student with even a little bit of pride in their own college would dare to play like that.

"Aren't you afraid they'll force themselves to endure it and eventually faint?"

"Ah, it's alright. The effect of removing the Guardian Charm is thirty Academy Points. It's a mandatory fee, whether they want it or not—let them faint and see. Azkaban is good at forcing people to buy things."

"You're amazing."

Lupin shook his head admiringly, no longer puzzled.

Soon, the students, unaware of the dangers of magical society, handed over all the chocolates they had—the criminals who could fool people in Azkaban couldn't be fools, so fooling students who hadn't even graduated yet wasn't exactly a piece of cake, it was a sure thing, it couldn't be more satisfying.

As for whether it's shameful or not?

The chocolates in Azkaban were priced in gallons. They cheated people out of gallons before they went to prison, and they continued to cheat people out of gallons after they went to prison. This can be considered as not changing their original intentions. What's shameful about that?

As for not cutting all the chives at once, leaving some chocolate for the prisoners to peel off later?

No way! This is Azkaban. Once you get past my cell, you can go die in any of the other cells!

A group of students, overcome with compassion, not only gave away their own portions but also borrowed some from other students in their college, especially Hufflepuff students—many of them not only contributed their school-issued portions but also distributed the snacks they carried with them.

Anyway, with chocolates being distributed, everything was going well, except for the hitman next to him who felt a little sorry for them—if they kept distributing them like this, Azkaban chocolates might not be able to sell for a high price for a month, which would directly affect their income!

But can he complain?

No, not at all—not to mention that the Minister of Magic knew about this event, Professor McGonagall, who was leading the group, made him have no complaints.

'What are schools teaching now...? What's the course called when they come to Azkaban to distribute subsidies...? Look, look, they're even asking the professor for more when they're out, and the professor is carrying a whole bag of it!'

Just as he was about to grumble to himself, the students' expressions of being robbed and their sudden shouts caught his attention.

"What! Professor, these are just ordinary chocolate candies, a few cocoas can buy quite a lot! You're going to deduct a point from us for each one?"

"That's the rule according to the regulations; that's the rule for this class."

The enthusiastic student, who had been thanking the student, was stunned. If he could exchange the money for the other prize, he would even be willing to pay to help his own college win the Academy Cup. But in the current situation, he dared not exchange even one of the prizes.

"Then should we eat it ourselves?"

Save a little, then secretly share some with others—how sincere were the grateful looks from those people!

"Eating it yourself is also one portion."

"That's not fair, Professor! We didn't mention that beforehand!"

“Because we gave you enough candy, it’s your fault if it’s not enough,” William laughed happily. “If you feel unwell, remember to collect your candy. Don’t try to tough it out. I will help you if I sense something is wrong, but it won’t be just one point—I’ll give you at least twenty points.”

He laughed heartily, but the students were not to be outdone—a little while later, one of them asked a new question.

"Professor, what if we leave the candy and then return it?"

"Not worth a penny."

"This is unfair, Professor!"

"But you can sell them to students in other colleges or your own college, or give them away for free—for every three chocolates sold to students in other colleges and eaten, you can get one cent from me."

The announcement of the new rules immediately attracted the attention of many people. The students who were distributing candy immediately stopped their extravagant act, which aroused the doubts of the prisoners.

How did these greenhorns suddenly become so clever?

But the students didn't care about any of that. The class leader led the group, and everyone started counting the chocolates that hadn't been wasted.

The result was surprising—Slytherin was actually the worst-off house. They didn't have much chocolate left in the entire house; most of it was given away as a reward to the prisoners who spoke well of them.

Next up was Gryffindor, and they sent a whole bunch of gifts too.

Hufflepuff sent a lot, but they also sent a lot of snacks—making them the second-to-last house in terms of the amount of food they sent.

Ravenclaw students surprisingly became the house with the most chocolates—they had been cleverly disguised when the chocolates were being distributed, and ended up being the biggest winners.

But while the students were having a great time compiling the statistics, the prisoners inside were not happy—without chocolates, who would play with you anymore?

Here, chocolate is called Galonnaise. Since ancient times, who can act like a big shot without money?

They even started trying to use some very offensive language.

Chapter 544 The People Who Left Azkaban

When William spoke, the prisoners in the cell stopped their cursing, as if those who had just mocked them had nothing to do with them.

This wasn't because they suddenly became civilized or repented for their actions. The reason they stopped was simple—the Strikers and Dementors were all watching this person cast a spell, but no one stepped forward to stop them, and that was enough.

William smiled as he looked at the students, then took out the roster he had obtained from the batters.

"These are the cells."

He pointed to the cell where the prisoners he had cast spells on were held, glanced at the roster in his hand, and said, "A conman, a thief, someone who has impersonated multiple times in Muggle society..."

Damn! What kind of people are there?

William paused for a moment, looking at the case described above: someone who had been arrested multiple times in Muggle society for pretending to be an exhibitionist, and then had to escape from a Muggle prison by using magic, thus violating the Secrets Act.

"Anyway," he abruptly changed the subject, "most of them weren't actually guilty of that serious crime, but why did they end up like this?"

He pulled a chocolate bar from his pocket. "I'm telling you, this is why! In Azkaban, life without chocolate is worse than death. Here, in the prisoners' private trade, two chocolates like this are worth one gallon!"

The price shocked the students present; they had no idea that those small chocolates were so expensive.

"Did you think I was going to tell you that they were incredibly precious?"

William put the chocolate back in his pocket. "No, I just wanted to tell you that even if you swallow chocolate that's as expensive as gold here, it only relieves the emptiness of being constantly devoured by Dementors!"

“And the reason for all this is very simple: crime,” William said, looking at the students. “This is the only wizarding prison in England. When you were students, if you broke the law, you would first receive a serious warning, then you might be expelled if you broke it again, and in some cases, your wands would be broken.”

"But you will soon lose your student status. I know that many of you are looking forward to your life after entering the magical society, thinking that you will live a good life, at least better than your parents."

“I also know that some of you haven’t had time to plan for the future yet. That’s okay. You can take your time. You’re only seventeen or eighteen years old. You have time, energy, and the right to fail.”

"But I hope you will always remember your bottom line, know what you should and shouldn't do. If you can't do it, think about what they are like—just because of a little profit or a little greed, are they worth being sent here?"

"Seeing those..."

William was just about to talk about the Dementors and their ferocity when he suddenly realized that the current location was inappropriate and instantly changed the subject, "See those prisoners? The vast majority of them, you could even say every single one of them, graduated from or dropped out of Hogwarts."

Professor McGonagall frowned, but said nothing.

"They all received the same education you did. Most of them, like you, dreamed about the future when they graduated. Back then, they never imagined they would one day be imprisoned in Azkaban for one crime or another. But that's the reality. They're in Azkaban, and they'll stop at nothing to trick you, a bunch of newly-adult students, out of your chocolates!"

"They spoke sweet words, they cheated, they threatened, they even vented their pain at you because of their imprisonment and loss of their wands! In the beginning, when they were fresh out of school, did they ever think they would want to be the kind of people who do such things?"

“Look closely, think carefully. I know you think everything in front of you is far away, I know you think it's impossible for this to have anything to do with you—but you don't think I don't know about your private duels, do you?”

William looked around at the students. "You don't think I don't know about your bullying and ostracizing behavior of hiding your classmates' personal belongings, do you?"

"You don't think that the reason Mr. Filch didn't catch you sneaking out at night is because you have superior hiding skills, do you?"
