……
William was stunned for two seconds.
Is he really cursing himself?
"If I release it myself, there's no way to stop it. Fortunately, the spell's effect isn't too severe, but breaking the spell is much more troublesome. I'll just leave it like this for now. I'll get used to it after vomiting for a while."
William shook his head. In this situation, a potion would be needed for treatment. Only a wizard with overwhelming magical power could do it by casting spells alone. Otherwise, a deeper curse with the same effect would have to be applied and then the curse would be broken. Each one was more troublesome than the last. It was better to wait for the magical effect to wear off.
"William, isn't there any other way?"
"Yes, but it involves more suffering, so I don't recommend using it."
"Ugh..." The student named Ron vomited again, his face turning pale.
But he looked up at William and wiped the sweat from his brow: "Professor, I hope to receive treatment. I feel like I can't get any worse."
"Okay, hold it in and don't yell."
William strode over, took out his wand, and tapped it on the man's stomach.
Ron's face turned deathly pale, then quickly regained its color, snot dripped from his nose, tears streamed uncontrollably from his tear ducts, and his face gradually contorted.
Then, he bent down, hugged the copper basin, and began to vomit frantically, as if he were vomiting bile. Countless tiny particles accompanied by gastric juices emerged and fell into the basin, where they began to wriggle—they were spiders the size of grains of rice.
His face contorted with fear, his eyes lost focus, and he swayed and fell face-first onto the basin. Only then did William's wand strike him a second time.
"The curse is instantly lifted."
William whispered the incantation while pulling the unfortunate child who had fainted—didn't you say you could accept it?
Chapter 81 Unsuccessful Education
Before William could even lift a finger, the eager Hagrid rushed over, grabbed Ron, and put him on the bed—his movements as light as if he were handling a chick.
'I bet Hagrid's punch is more powerful than a normal wizard's Barrier Charm, right?'
With this in mind, William waved his wand and cleaned the spiders and other unidentified objects from the copper basin.
"Professor, is Ron alright?"
Seeing William begin to clean up the mess, Harry couldn't wait to ask.
"I'm fine now, I just threw up too much. I need to rest for a bit to catch my breath."
Although theoretically, the curse used to cover it up should only make the child vomit until his legs are weak, and the child named Ron should have fainted from pain or fright, William kindly kept the real reason a secret—after all, sleeping a little longer wouldn't do the child any harm, and vomiting for so long was indeed tiring.
The professor's promise put the two nervous children at ease, but they soon felt awkward again—the three of them had even had a small celebration at the beginning of the school year when their wizard self-defense magic professor wasn't this one.
Fortunately, William quickly broke the awkward silence.
"Although you are not my students, I am still very curious—this kind of curse is far more insulting than harmful; on an adult, it would be at least a duel. What could have happened to warrant such a vicious curse?"
Making someone spit out snot is far more serious than telling them to go eat shit. For some people, this curse is almost as effective as stuffing a handful of shit into their mouth, or rather, throwing a dung ball into their mouth.
This is a real-life situation that will make people spew filth; if you really encounter someone with guts, the duel will be a fight to the death.
The two relaxed children immediately tensed up—because the professor in front of them really would deduct points and put them in solitary confinement across grades!
Harry had heard the Weasley brothers complain more than once that Professor William tricked them out of the Hog's Head pub, beat them up, and put them in solitary confinement—it couldn't be more terrifying.
"It's Malfoy!"
Harry rattled off the name of the troublemaker at almost breakneck speed, then quickly and clearly recounted the events of that morning at the fastest pace of his life.
"So, it was that student named Malfoy who started the trouble first, then he used extremely insulting language, and then Ron tried to use this curse on him?"
William crossed his arms and quickly tried to recall the name Malfoy—he vaguely remembered that he and Harry had never gotten along.
During the Goblet of Fire tournament, that Malfoy guy even made a bunch of negative support items for Harry?
"Hmm, you and that Malfoy guy don't get along? He's a good student, but you stole his thunder?"
"Are you kidding me, William? Hermione is the top student in their second year, and she's the undisputed number one in the entire year!"
After Hagrid laid the unconscious Ron down, he immediately chimed in when he heard William's question.
William noticed that Hermione's face had turned red—it seemed Hagrid was telling the truth?
"Then it seems it's not a matter of grades. Hagrid never lies. Although it's a bit early for kids your age, I have to ask, did you steal that Malfoy's girlfriend?"
"Hahahaha!"
Hagrid let out a hearty laugh, and only stopped when Harry's expression turned noticeably shy. "William, Harry is only twelve years old."
“So what if he’s twelve? Don’t look down on kids these days—” William turned around and retorted with a smile before turning back.
"If none of the above applies, then it's because he comes from a better family and was originally a popular figure at school, but you completely overshadowed him in terms of fame?"
William noticed that Harry looked clearly uncomfortable, but still managed a reluctant nod.
"Don't like your reputation? Learn from Professor Dumbledore. If he cared that much about his reputation, he would probably be much more serious than Professor McGonagall. Just imagine how terrifying that would be—" William mocked his leader without any restraint.
Hagrid leaned closer, wanting to laugh, but he managed to hold it in, leaving behind only the sound of a tire deflating.
"So, Malfoy came to cause trouble because he was jealous of you, and Ron's spell was reflected back by his own wand when he was casting it?"
"I see, Professor."
“Then Ron is wrong—” William concluded.
"professor?"
"Knowing there was something wrong with his wand when he cast the spell, why didn't he just pull out the wand of someone nearby? According to your description, he was right next to you, wasn't he?"
The two children were stunned. Was the professor inciting them to hit someone?
“Look at your wand,” William pointed to Harry’s wand, which was so easily pulled out, “You got it so easily, didn’t you? You’re friends, he should know perfectly well that using your wand won’t cause any problems. Then, while everyone’s laughing at you, you’ll use a levitation charm or something to cover it up, then quietly put your wand back. And then you’ll panic and pretend your wand has gone out of control…”
"Cough cough."
Hagrid coughed twice, which immediately alerted William that something was wrong.
He's not here in Azkaban bragging to a bunch of prisoners about how to fight the hardest; he's here to teach and educate.
It is unacceptable to teach students to evade punishment in the way you just did. As a professor, you should never teach students to fight.
"Of course, we're just assuming that fighting among students is never a good thing, especially given Professor McGonagall's strict requirements for her students."
William quickly tried to salvage the situation.
"It's fortunate his spell didn't hit, otherwise, if the other side reported it to the professor, the one who struck first would definitely be put in solitary confinement, and you could only curse back at most—"
But halfway through his sentence, William realized something was wrong. In Azkaban, there were plenty of insults to deal with Mudbloods, and they could even get the other person really angry. Hufflepuff, being the largest house in Azkaban, had the most people in the house, and their retorts were so varied and impressive that they could earn applause and admiration.
However, as a professor, he could neither use those words to hurl insults at others nor incite his students to learn those swear words.
It's really frustrating.
William couldn't help but subtly roll his eyes—these three Gryffindors, they can't even swear properly, neither in prison nor outside. They're always ready to fight; why don't you learn how to swear?!
"It's all in the past now, and they probably won't report it to the professor—after all, none of them were cursed, so you've escaped confinement once."
William finally managed to steer the conversation back on track, only to see the child across from him look utterly dejected.
"I'll have to stay in solitary confinement again tonight."
We can't have a conversation anymore...
Chapter 82 What kind of light novel is this?
Harry's detention was imposed along with Ron's, who was lying in bed—crashing a school tree with a car is a crime that would be unjustified in any world.
Seeing that the conversation was stalled and Harry couldn't come up with anything new, William simply said goodbye to Hagrid and prepared to go to the Leaky Cauldron alone.
Considering safety and cost-effectiveness, he ultimately chose to succumb to furnace ash and opted for Floo powder.
"Cough cough..."
As William emerged from the one-way fireplace, he heard Old Tom's delighted voice.
"Look who's here?"
"I am nobody, just a passing traveler. Please give me a glass of water, and a few drops of lemon juice would be even better."
William brushed the dust off his clothes and answered in a reading-aloud tone.
"Water? One Gallon a cup, no bargaining."
"Your heart is blacker than the tax collector's heart, so how about a beer?"
Old Tom cheerfully pushed out the beer and made a shushing gesture; "Keep it down, the tax collectors are really coming over in the next couple of days."
"So early? School has just started."
"Otherwise, they'd like to collect taxes every week. William, how are you doing at school?"
William thought about it carefully and finally came to a rather pleasant conclusion: "I don't know what the students think, but I'm quite happy."
-
While William was giving a speech that would bring tears to the eyes of the fifth-year students, Ron and Harry, who had just regained consciousness from their coma, suffered an incredibly heavy blow in the school cafeteria.
Professor McGonagall finally found the time to deal with these two little rascals who damaged school property.
"Why wasn't that professor's magic stronger? If I had remained unconscious in Hagrid's house for a day, would I have been able to escape this punishment?"
After Professor McGonagall announced the contents of the detention and turned to leave, poor Ron patted Harry on the shoulder and sighed.
"Any heavier? Ron, you're already unconscious!"
“Yeah, I passed out, but I’m not throwing up anymore, right?” Ron shrugged and laughed, then began to recall why he had passed out.
A huge copper basin... a churning stomach... a dense mass of vomit, as if something strange was wriggling inside.
What is it?
Ron became curious, and although his intuition told him he shouldn't think about it, he couldn't suppress his curiosity.
Peristalsis? Peristalsis…
It's a spider.
A spider?
