"Don't rush, it's the insect's tail..."

Although I felt a strong urge to vomit, I quickly suppressed the feeling. The blood spurting from my thigh was much cleaner than that of a wild rat.

"Please...it wasn't me...it wasn't me..."

"Still playing the victim, just like before, right, Peter?"

Blake grabbed Peter's neck tightly and dragged him off the bed to the floor like a dead dog.

"Look at me, look at me, Peter!"

The immense force on his neck made it hard for Peter to breathe. His head involuntarily tilted back as he looked at the disheveled man with eyes that seemed to burn with fire.

His worst fears came true: the guy came out of Azkaban and found him.

"It wasn't me...it wasn't me..."

The sophistry was uttered, but it was severely distorted as it passed through the throat, which was firmly held by a hand.

"Not you?"

The hand gripping his neck loosened slightly, but the next moment, Peter's head and body were slammed hard onto the ground, and muddy shoes stepped on him with even greater force than before.

"It wasn't you!"

He bent over and slammed his fist down, hitting his nose squarely, causing blood to gush out.

"It wasn't you!"

Another punch landed, and with a crack, tears mixed with snot and blood gushed out, soaking wet and indistinguishable.

"Playing the mouse, feigning death, betraying James... How dare you, how dare you?"

Sirius threw a punch, but found he couldn't muster any strength at all. He then noticed that his right hand had been badly scratched.

Without any hesitation, he swung his knife with his left hand, severing Peter's leg, then looked up and stared out the window, pointing his knife directly at that spot.

"Good evening, Sirius Black."

Outside the window, William, who had been standing there silently for a long time, had already raised his wand. "You found out too soon..."

William wouldn't mind if he hit him a few more times, or even kicked him again... as long as no one was killed and the matter could be settled through confrontation. But once he discovered that Sirius Black would never be so carefree as to hit anyone again...

'The time for revenge is over... at least until everything is clear...'

But the next moment, William, who was riding a broom in mid-air, couldn't free his hand to cover his mouth—his spell was cleaved by that seemingly ordinary knife!

Just how many treasures are these purebloods hiding?

While complaining, a series of stun spells flew out, directly hitting Sirius Black—judging from the drama just now, the other party had no intention of having a proper conversation with him.

"Snapped."

With a slight noise, Blake, who was busy defending against the spell, just realized something was wrong when he was suddenly grabbed by the bandages and his feet were tightly bound, causing him to lose his balance.

William, having relinquished control of the broom, quickly withdrew his left hand and firmly grasped the broom before casting a spell to subdue Sirius.

"I'm sorry, it's really too difficult to use Transfiguration with my left hand, otherwise I should have been more careful."

Chasing away the knife, William flew into the hospital, landed on the old broom, and then looked kindly at the three-legged rat trying to escape from the other side of the room.

It scurried away with a speed that was not that of a lame mouse, leaving a trail of blood.

“I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have dodged. If you were still a fool, I wouldn’t have let Mr. Blake attack you,” William shook his head. “But now, we need to find a good place to discuss what exactly happened.”

Another bandage flew up and secured it firmly.

“Before that, we have a little something to take care of…” William said, sticking his head out the window, his voice booming under the spell, “The students are causing trouble. No one is allowed to enter the school until an alarm sounds!”

The silver hummingbird quickly took shape, shimmering with brilliant light, leaving a beautiful trail in the air.

The next moment, the gray mist brought up by the Dementor dissipated, and it returned to its original position without any hesitation.

Chapter 307 Everything Must Have an End

"Dong dong dong..."

A loud noise came from the corridor, and then the door to the school hospital was kicked open.

"Stop!"

Lupin stood at the doorway, wand gripping tightly, the wand pointed firmly at the entrance, but all that greeted him was a smooth wall so clear it could reflect a human figure.

'Oops!'

The thought had barely crossed his mind when a spell struck his armored curse. Then, the bandages on the ground snaked around his legs, but stopped just before they were about to succeed.

"Professor Lupin, what brings you here?"

William's voice came from the side, which immediately put Lupin at ease.

"Professor William, you've arrived..."

He breathed a sigh of relief, then looked toward where William had spoken. The next moment, a silent disarming spell struck him directly, knocking his wand away.

William reached out and caught the wand, feeling slightly relieved—the bandages probably wouldn't hold Lupin back, and it would be hard to lower his guard if he didn't speak.

"Why are you the first one here, Professor Lupin?"

Looking at Lupin, William asked again with a hint of doubt.

“Because Blake and Peter are both here,” Lupin said calmly, showing no sign of panic—which put William, who was slightly drunk, at ease.

Mead is delicious, but it's quite potent. Although he's tried his best to control the amount, after that crazy broomstick workout, he can only try to control all the unstable factors now.

'Wait…'

Despite remaining skeptical, the earlier conversation suddenly resurfaced—if he remembered correctly, this matter… concerned Peter being a suspect, and possibly suggesting impersonating Sirius to assassinate him—was actually Peter's idea…

'Principal, are you serious?'

This idea came to mind, followed by the hidden lab manual.

The payment had been received, and Dumbledore subtly explained that it was a small favor he was giving Lupin to ensure the credit went to him.

The situation suddenly became awkward—he had promised to give it up, but then took the credit for it himself.

William cast a Mark spell on Peter, who had transformed into a mouse, almost without hesitation, followed by a clumsy but powerful Anti-Transfiguration spell—he didn't believe the other could break free without the help of a wand.

"Then I'll leave everything to you, Professor Lupin!"

After casting another Stunning Charm on Wormtail, William grabbed a broom without a word and flew out the window. Only after leaving the room did he use a Levitation Charm to return Lupin's wand.

Never mind—how they explain it later is their business. He was just a passerby who flew halfway and discovered that the Dementors were trying to invade the school. He had no idea what was going on inside!

-

Fifteen minutes later, William successfully blended in with the professors who had confirmed the lounge was safe and sound before splitting up to rush to the scene.

"Professor William, didn't you go to the scene immediately?"

"I ran into Professor Lupin. He had already taken down the intruder. I was just trying to figure out what was going on when I discovered that the Dementors had invaded the campus." Because of the alcohol, William's face was completely red, but he wasn't worried about blushing at all.

"After driving away the Dementors, I was worried that some students might sneak out of the castle, so I looked around again to make sure no one was affected by the Dementors before I rushed back. Now I'm completely baffled."

“We're far apart, after all, there's nothing we can do about it,” Professor Taylor nodded. “Speaking of which, Lupin was quite the duelist back in our school days, Professor Snape is probably pretty angry—”

"Shh," the professor next to him pointed a finger, "Professor Snape has been thinking about killing people lately, so it's best not to discuss these things at a time like this."

“Let’s talk about this quietly when there are fewer people around,” Professor Taylor said to William in a low voice, then followed him seriously as they ran towards the university hospital.

However, this was certainly in vain—William's tracking magic located Dumbledore's office directly, which is why he was leisurely following a group of professors around.

To be honest, if anyone could turn the tables in Dumbledore's office, William would run away without hesitation, go out and study dark magic for at least five years before considering coming back for revenge—he got out of that hellish place Azkaban entirely thanks to Dumbledore's help, and he would definitely get his revenge.

Just as I was thinking about this, Professor McGonagall appeared at the university hospital.

“There was an intruder at the school, but Professor Lupin has apprehended him and everything is safe now,” Professor McGonagall said with her usual serious expression. “Although the matter is somewhat complicated and requires further investigation, Albus is currently in his office.”

Almost everyone breathed a sigh of relief at the same time—the tension that had been inexplicably there vanished just as inexplicably.

“That’s great,” Professor Taylor, who was standing in front, put his wand away. “Does the school hospital need any repairs?”

“Thank you, Professor Taylor, but I think it’s not necessary for now,” Professor McGonagall’s expression softened. “Thank you all for coming. I will handle the follow-up notifications to the students.”

"Isn't this our school too?" the professor behind him said with a smile, then looked around at the other professors. "How about we go to my office for a drink? I can't sleep anyway, I'm not going to be able to go back to my room right now."

William clearly noticed that Professor McGonagall's face was a little stiff—the professor who had been greeting others wasn't exactly a good drinker, and to make matters worse, he was a Gryffindor. The most recent incident involved him riding a flying broomstick on the Black Lake and singing for half the night while drunk, and the next day, the mermaid herself came ashore to complain to the school authorities…

In the end, however, Professor McGonagall didn't try to stop it, seemingly prepared to accept a complaint...

-

Good morning, William!

"You too, Adams."

William rubbed his head, considering whether he should go back and make some potions later, while responding to Adams, who could skip his afternoon nap on the weekend.

'It's unnecessary. What kind of potion can cure the headache from last night's events?'

'I wonder how Dumbledore handled it... It's best not to be curious. He's already received his reward; getting involved now would be too much—maybe Dumbledore was planning to use this to help Lupin sort out the werewolf issue...'

He shook his head, then made himself a donut.

"Quick, look at the newspaper, William!"

Adams had no interest in eating. He hurriedly pulled out the Daily Prophet, which he had only glanced at, and his exaggerated movements almost made William think he had won the lottery.

[A dramatic twist! Former hitter Lupin…]

At this point, William could no longer hold on.

What's the situation with the former hitter?

Given how Professor Lupin was before he took office, was the Ministry of Magic so poor that it started cutting hitters' salaries?

He snapped out of his reverie and continued reading patiently. The rest of the story was quite normal, much like the part of the truth he had uncovered earlier—Sirius was wrongly accused, the real culprit was Peter, and then came the classic, much-anticipated plot: Sirius was exonerated, and Peter Pettigrew was taken away and imprisoned in Azkaban.

But here's the interesting part.

"Although we didn't initially figure out how Mr. Black managed to escape, we still managed to pinpoint his target—so, after discussions with the Hogwarts administration, our excellent batter Remus Lupin left the battering team and joined Hogwarts to dedicate himself to protecting the target we had identified."

"But in the subsequent investigation, former hitter Lupin discovered that things weren't so simple back then..."

Adams pointed to that line in the newspaper, “Doesn’t this overturn the previous Ministry of Magic decision?”
