"The more I fought, the less I could control myself..."

William watched the spells escalate and grew increasingly anxious—the spells used by the two professors were becoming less and less dazzling, and they were even starting to use Ironclad Charms to directly withstand the spells, beginning a simple, turn-based-like battle.

This means that the spell has become so powerful that if the casting animation is distorted too much, it may fail. This also means that the spell is not commonly used—mostly because it is too powerful and has side effects.

'I can't interfere…' William knew this very well. In the current situation, no matter which side he helped, the other side would most likely have to stay in the hospital for a month or two, or even die…

"crunch..."

The door to the faculty lounge opened, and Professor McGonagall walked in, her face contorted with rage. But the fight was too intense for even the students watching to notice her.

William noticed that Harry had sneaked into the crowd, so he nodded to him to indicate that he had taken care of things.

"You two, stop right there!"

Professor McGonagall's voice, amplified by magic, echoed throughout the lounge, causing the two engaged in fierce combat to momentarily lose focus and observe.

"Stop right now! Immediately!"

Professor McGonagall roared like a lion, her rare outburst causing the two wizards, locked in a fierce duel, to slow their spellcasting and cease their attacks, focusing instead on dealing with the incoming spells.

“Severus, Lupin,” she said, trying to remain calm, “I’m sorry to bother you, something urgent has come up. Please come to my office to discuss this further.”

Although she spoke calmly, anyone could tell she was on the verge of exploding.

"Professor William, I'm sorry, could you temporarily fill in for Professor Lupin and complete the lecture?"

She turned to William and asked him a question.

"Of course, is there anything else you want to say?"

“Let each of them deal with that Boggart, and then destroy it. Well then, I'll leave it to you, Professor William.”

Lupin laughed, glanced at Snape, and then left first. Snape lagged slightly behind, his usual mocking expression returning to his face—by the time Professor McGonagall arrived, he had clearly gained the upper hand.

The three left, and the classroom fell silent for a moment.

The fight that had just taken place was completely beyond the comprehension of the third-year students; everyone was terrified by the endless stream of magic unleashed by the two professors.

"Alright, the surprise time is over. Let's continue the lesson."

William clapped his hands twice and shouted at the group of children.

Lupin had already laid out all the key points of the course, so he couldn't easily change them. He also hadn't prepared any corresponding teaching materials, so he simply let them deal with the Boggart slowly.

"After Neville, who's usually next? You can start preparing."

“Everyone, just like before,” William said, waving his wand to restore the areas damaged in the duel. “Stand your original positions, one by one, and take care of that Boggart.”

...

"Harry, it's your turn!"

William called out Harry's name, and Harry hesitated for a moment before slowly walking over.

Boggart, bewildered by the students, immediately spotted a new target, *smack!*

After a loud noise, William saw himself.

???

Before he could even react in surprise, "Hilarious! Hilarious!"

After chanting a spell, he lay back in the rocking chair, half a chocolate frog in his hand, his eyes narrowed, and he was enjoying his meal...

……

Without William having to call out, the next student came running up.

Boggart quickly transformed, while William was still somewhat bewildered.

By the time he finally accepted that he had become the object of the students' fear, the Boggart had become completely confused and could no longer conjure up scary things perfectly.

"I'll do it!"

Neville's voice rang out, and William finally came to his senses.

However, before he could stop him, Professor Snape appeared again.

Fortunately, this time there were no strange hats, nor that pink lady's hat, only a sorting hat that looked very familiar.

Amid William's hesitation, 'Snape' donned the Sorting Hat.

'sky!'

Horrible scenes flashed through William's mind, but it was too late.

The Sorting Hat suddenly shouted, its voice exceptionally loud.

Azkaban!

"Hahahahaha!"

Loud laughter erupted from all around, and everyone lost their composure.

Amidst a series of laughs, the Boggart exploded, turning into wisps of smoke and disappearing.

Chapter 286 Arguments Are Everywhere

"Alright, get out of class is over now. Everyone can leave the classroom."

Resisting the urge to leave these energetic children with a mountain of homework, William finally announced the end of the course.

A group of children, still wanting more, chattered away as they left the classroom, leaving a exhausted William behind.

'So tiring... What was Professor Lupin thinking? Even with Snape gone, giving Gryffindor students this much freedom is just asking for trouble, isn't it?'

He walked back to the chair he had been sitting in, leaned against it, and remained motionless.

'I guess my duel with Snape isn't far off... Sending Snape to Azkaban... These Gryffindor students are really...'

Although he wanted to call it insane, William eventually laughed at himself, and only picked up the book and wand as if to cover it up when the office door was opened again.

"William! Have you heard? Snape and Lupin are fighting!"

Adams' voice rang out from the doorway, sounding smug and disapproving.

'How did this news spread so quickly?'

William was puzzled for a moment, but quickly understood—there were too many paintings in the castle, most of which were gossipy, and it would be strange if the gossip didn't get out, given the distance between the faculty lounge and Professor McGonagall's office.

"Yes, I've seen it."

"I don't know where the fight took place, or who won... Wait, William, have you met him?"

Adams suddenly realized what had happened and noticed the tables and chairs that had been rearranged.

"Is this the place?"

He asked himself the question and answered it, looking around at the traces that had been cleared. "It looks like a pretty normal duel. Those kids always like to exaggerate things."

"Those children?"

William immediately grasped the crux of the problem.

-

He wasn't wrong; by dinner time, news of the duel between the two professors had spread throughout the entire school.

Even more outrageous is that, due to Professor Snape's good reputation among Hogwarts students over the years, the duel story has evolved into the fact that although the two fought to a draw, Professor Snape's clothes were unfortunately transfigured by Lupin into a complete set of women's clothing.

Although it's unclear which student spread the rumor, the story eventually reached the point where even the students in class at the time were excitedly telling others how Snape fought while dressed in women's clothing—it was absolutely true, they had witnessed it themselves.

It's ridiculous. Although the Slytherin students tried desperately to defend their headmaster, it's clear that students from one house can't fight against students from three houses. In the end, the story became so absurd that it was unwatchable.

"So that's how it happened. Lupin discovered that Professor Snape was wearing a lady wizard's robe, and the two of them started a duel. When the fight got out of hand, they both started using dark magic. If Professor McGonagall hadn't arrived in time to stop them, they would both have been sent to Azkaban!"

At the dinner table, Adams was enthusiastically explaining the latest version of the duel scene to the young professors around him. Before mentioning Azkaban, he glanced at William and, finding no unusual reaction from William, happily began to speak.

The story of Azkaban was already involved in the early version released in the afternoon—Adams had already asked about it when he came over to get some firsthand information, and knew that William didn't care.

"Hahahaha!"

The professors around couldn't help but laugh out loud, but they quickly suppressed it.

Don't be fooled by the fact that everyone here is a professor. In the British magical world, there is only one large magic school, Hogwarts, and everyone has their own house. Everyone knows that Professor Snape is extremely biased in deducting and adding points.

“Go and ask around, Adams.”

Professor Taylor chimed in, "It's been a long time since we've heard a story about professors dueling!"

Everyone was happy, and Adams, naturally, happily went to Hufflepuff's table to inquire—his club had an event that afternoon, and he had spent almost the entire afternoon running between the office and the club.

But the happy time was always short-lived. Before Adams could report back, Professor McGonagall had already arrived at the faculty dining table, and the professors immediately stopped spreading rumors and began to sit up straight.

'It's finally over,' William sighed with relief. If more outrageous rumors were to spread, he figured they'd have to have a real duel tonight.

"Hey William, have you noticed? Neither of them came for dinner. Did they go out to play games again?"

Adams, who had sneaked back at some point, secretly pointed to the empty seat at the table and said something.

“It shouldn’t be…” William said somewhat uncertainly, “How come your students haven’t finished compiling a new version after all this time?”

The story is already ridiculously absurd, but everyone's just making it up for fun. It's so rare to see the headmaster of Slytherin make a fool of himself, how can we not cheer him on?

"What do you mean by making things up? That's the truth."

Adams shook his head and sighed as he spoke words he himself didn't believe, "It's been changed, but now the students are arguing."

"Start arguing? Isn't Hufflepuff the most united house?"

“There are arguments too,” Adams shook his head. “The new semester has just begun, and they’re already repeating the same old tune!”

"Ok?"

"It's still the same old story; they argued about tastes..."

William was completely bewildered; he had no idea that Hufflepuffs could argue like that.

"Wasn't the beginning about Snape teaching women how to cross-dress?"

"correct."

"Then they started discussing what style of dress Professor Snape was wearing."
