From Azkaban to Hogwarts.

"Someone you're familiar with?"
Neville looked around at his classmates, then at the hats on their heads—many of them were not good enough at Transfiguration, and their hats had turned back into parchment.
"Perhaps, the hat?"
He spoke with a puzzled expression, but the Gryffindors around him immediately understood and chuckled. Some of them pointed their wands at their heads, and the hats conjured from parchment instantly changed their appearance.
'Don't let this kid fall into my hands... Doesn't he fear changing his own head?' William immediately recognized the child who had violated the spell and remembered his name.
"Ah!"
"What's wrong, Seymour?"
"It's nothing, it just seems like some dust got in."
The students' quiet conversations did not affect Lupin's lecture.
"Hats? Then, how many hats?"
“A lot,” Neville blurted out, recalling the scene of Gryffindor all wearing hats last year.
"So, imagine those hats carefully, and then go. If all goes well, we'll see a bunch of hats appear in that damp, cold place."
The students below couldn't help but laugh, and Lupin laughed along with them—though he didn't know why they were laughing, a Gryffindor instinct told him that the hat was definitely not directed at him, nor was the laughter.
William suddenly felt that the gazes around him were murderous—he involuntarily tightened his grip on his wand.
If Professor Snape were to really engage in a duel, what kind of magic should he use?
"Yes, everyone, pay attention. If Neville succeeds, this Boggart might turn his attention to each of you in turn." Lupin's laughter faded, and his expression turned serious. "Now, I want each of you to take a moment to think about what you fear most, and then imagine how you could force it into something that looks ridiculous..."
'This is not funny at all... Seriously, I think there will be a duel at the castle after class. One side will be decided, and the other side will be either you or me...'
William gripped his wand tightly, contemplating whether to launch a surprise attack while watching Lupin give his lesson—hoping he wouldn't use the hat joke again.
“Neville, we need to back up,” Lupin said cheerfully, seemingly unaffected by the outside world. “How about we give you some space? I’ll call the next person forward… Now, everyone step back and give Neville some room—”
The students stepped back, revealing a large open space. William glanced at Professor Snape out of the corner of his eye while also assessing Lupin's safe distance.
“I’ll count to three, Neville,” Lupin said, pointing his wand at the wardrobe. “One—two—three—begin!”
A spark shot out from Lupin's wand and landed on the cabinet, instantly opening the wardrobe door.
William began to look around. It was strange to find Azkaban's environment here—he was still a little curious as to why Neville was afraid of Azkaban instead of Snape.
But to his surprise, a damp, dark, and gloomy environment appeared, not the Azkaban he had imagined, but a place that he was somewhat familiar with, similar to a potion laboratory.
The potion-brewing area is usually located in the basement because the environment there provides excellent benefits for potion brewing.
As the ground changed, a face he recognized very well appeared—a face he had just observed out of the corner of his eye.
'What utter nonsense!'
He suddenly understood: 'Neville was referring to the Potions classroom! So it's perfectly normal for Professor Snape to show up!'
Chapter 285 Can you please let me go?
"Hilarious! Hilarious!"
As soon as the incantation began, William subconsciously cast the Ironclad Charm on himself.
Even before the Iron Armor Spell was fully formed, he stomped his feet hard on the ground, forcing himself and the chair to fall to the ground.
As his body plummeted toward the ground, a rope in William's arms shot out like a snake, its gentle support completely neutralizing the force of his fall.
As the fall stopped, William's wand pointed directly at the spellcaster—only then did he hear clearly what the incantation was.
'I'm so nervous…'
The thought flashed through his mind, but he didn't let go of his wand.
As he firmly aimed his wand at Professor Snape, William glanced at the arena out of the corner of his eye.
Large swathes of trees appeared in the area, but they were ravaged by fire and gale, making it impossible to discern what the scene was like.
'A forest? Or one that's been destroyed…'
Although William couldn't quite grasp the meaning behind it, there was no doubt that there was no offensive spell hidden beneath that comical remark, and that there was no situation where a silent spell and a spoken spell were completely different.
Only after confirming this did William have the energy to pay attention to other things.
For example, he rudely pointed his wand at another professor in Lupin's class, and Professor Snape was so angry that he forgot to use the silence spell and used his own voice instead.
'Won't people die?'
William put himself in Professor Snape's shoes and realized that this matter could not be resolved without a duel.
He almost laughed when he saw it, especially when the woman's hat was picked up, but now, thinking back on it, ugh…
Just as he was taking a tiny moment to grasp the seriousness of the matter, the situation became extremely tense.
Lupin, who usually seemed kind, stood there, his eyes fixed on Snape, who had just disrupted the class.
Snape's eyes were as cold as ice. He didn't even glance at Neville, who had just been casting a spell. But Neville, surrounded by many students, felt a chill seeping into his wizard's robes from every corner, making him shiver uncontrollably.
“Lupin,” Snape said in his usual soft and clear voice, “Hogwarts has a tradition of showing students the wonders of magic in the first class, so that they don’t have unrealistic expectations of their progress.”
"I think you don't mind, I'll be your assistant and demonstrate it to them."
Although his tone remained unchanged, the sarcasm in his voice was much less pronounced than usual—indicating that he was genuinely angry.
'Are you kidding me! The students' first lesson is going to be a staged fight between two professors?'
But Lupin had no intention of backing down. "Perhaps we should indeed respect tradition. Before I joined the school, Professor McGonagall told me that the school hadn't taught formal wizard duels for many years, which is indeed a pity."
Even the most oblivious student could see the conflict between the two, but neither side was willing to back down.
'Forget it, let them fight, they can't be stopped anyway.'
William had originally intended to stop them, but now he simply gave up.
"All students step back over to me and make enough space for the two professors' 'duel' demonstration (Williams had to make a great effort to say this against his will)."
Go ahead and fight if you want, just don't hurt the students, or they might resort to sneaky attacks later!
Although somewhat reluctant and eager to see him up close, all the students obediently gathered around him after William spoke, forming a small group around him.
William quickly cast several protective spells with his wand—though they couldn't stop a direct attack of magic, the two professors would have to be crazy to cast spells on their students.
“That’s wonderful, thank you, Professor William.”
Lupin's face was full of smiles, making it impossible to tell that he had just been angry. He waved his wand, and the tables and chairs in the faculty lounge were magically pushed against the wall.
Opposite him, Snape waved his wand without saying a word, and the tables and chairs on his side also flew up and landed lightly in the corner.
As the two cast their spells simultaneously, Boggart, who had been on the field, slowly disappeared from the dilapidated forest and secretly slipped into a cabinet in the corner.
"I think that's about right."
Lupin was facing Snape, his wand pointed firmly at him with an extremely aggressive air.
“Very good,” Snape’s voice finally rose a little, “It’s good to show the students what a real duel is like.”
The two looked at each other, then bowed to each other in perfect posture, and then held their wands up to their chests like swords.
"one two Three--"
The two counted almost simultaneously, and then a dazzling red light shone from their hands at the same time.
'Are you crazy? You start with a disarming spell? You all expect to kill us in one hit?'
The two easily dodged the exchange of spells, but as Snape dodged, his wand emitted a black light that lunged at Lupin. As it approached Lupin, it transformed into a snake and coiled around him, only to be blocked by the bright silver armor.
At the same time, a flame suddenly appeared from the corner of Snape's robe, and in the blink of an eye, a raging fire broke out, as if to engulf him.
But a huge torrent of water crashed down, extinguishing the flames like a waterfall, then flowed upwards into the air, instantly freezing chunks of ice, which Snape then swung his wand at Lupin.
Countless ice crystals shone with iridescent light under the sunlight streaming through the lounge windows, dazzling the eye while also accompanied by a series of ear-piercing whistling sounds.
'Clear water like a spring, plus shapeshifting, plus a barrage of bullets...it's utterly ridiculous...'
As William analyzed the situation, he summoned a stream of water using the Clear Water Spring technique, which transformed into an ice shield in the air, blocking all the students.
Even the flying ice shards made a low, muffled sound against the ice shield. As for Lupin's Ironclad Charm, it produced a crisp sound like metal clashing amidst the frenzied attack of the ice spikes. But as the ice spikes became denser, an almost inaudible sound of something breaking appeared in the crisp sounds.
But at that moment, Snape's steps suddenly became chaotic. He had been moving and attacking with a rather elegant gait, but now he not only lost that elegance, but also became as chaotic as if he had inserted some kind of dance step.
'That was a brilliant move…'
William exclaimed in admiration, then casually cast another defensive spell before becoming even more focused on observing the two professors dueling on the field.
'If it were me, I'd probably use ropes and the ceiling to move—the inability to Apparate at Hogwarts is such a huge limitation; those combat-specific footwork looks amazing…'
Unfortunately, this is something you can only learn by looking at it and figuring it out on your own.
If Adams possessed the skills, that would be fine, but William had absolutely no hope of getting anything from Professor Snape.
Lupin's curse to interrupt Snape's spellcasting was quickly dispelled, but he was also out of danger. During the lull in the ice spikes, he used his wand to disrupt their transformation and freezing process in mid-air, rendering subsequent attacks ineffective.
Because the magic was disrupted, the nascent ice crystals exploded and scattered into the air, forming clumps of light-colored ice mist that were so bright they were blinding.
'Wait!'
William immediately noticed something was wrong and used Polymorph on his protective magic. With a wave of his wand, the ice shield turned black.
The next second, the ice mist in the air emitted a blinding light under Lupin's spell, and under the cover of this light, an Eye Strike spell flew directly toward Snape.
'This is serious,' William thought, having vaguely noticed the incantation, and now he was genuinely panicking.
The previous magic damage was limited and the lethality was still controllable, but the Eye Disease Curse, a spell often used to slay dragons, cannot be discharged immediately even with timely treatment—this is different from minor injuries such as broken arms or legs or even the loss of an entire arm!
Moreover, it's quite obvious that the Eye Disease Curse is definitely not the end, but just the beginning. William has never seen Professor Snape's dark magic, but just by looking at the cards, he knows how powerful it is. As for Professor Lupin, just by looking at the position he applied for and judging from his strength on the train, William doesn't think he would be a novice in dark magic.
'He's going crazy...we need to find someone to stop him!'
The thought immediately popped into William's mind—if it were Professor McGonagall, she should be able to stop the two of them.
He furtively pointed his wand at himself, and then his voice immediately reached Harry's ears.
"Go find Professor McGonagall quickly and tell her that Professor Lupin and Professor Snape have gotten into a fight. If she doesn't come soon, she might resort to dark magic!"
The voice suddenly appeared in Harry's ears. He was startled for a moment, then pretended not to hear anything and awkwardly looked at William.
William nodded, indicating that it was indeed him who said it.
Having received confirmation, Harry sneaked past the students who were occasionally gaping in disbelief, and headed straight for the door of the lounge. Then, taking advantage of everyone's inattention, he quietly opened the door and slipped out.
