"The magical world has been quite turbulent lately. Let me see what defensive magic I need to set up for you."

"Because of Sirius?"

"Yes."

William was a little angry—was he the only one in the entire wizarding world who didn't know? Harry, who lived among the Muggles, knew.

'Besides getting the newspaper Fudge mentioned, I also need to get the most recent one, otherwise we'll be living like cavemen...'

'But it seems Harry doesn't know Sirius's target is him. Well, how could he tell a student something that keeps him up at night?'

"So, Professor, is Sirius Black impressive?"

Harry was a little scared, but he had a lot of questions he wanted to ask.

“Impressive,” William nodded, confirming again, “Extremely impressive. Among the dark wizards I know, he is first-rate.”

Although he has that card, Dumbledore shouldn't be considered a dark wizard—besides, there's a special class above the first class.

"Do you know many dark wizards, Professor?"

Harry started asking questions because he wanted to get to the bottom of it.

"Not a small number, but you kids should stay away from dark magic. Most of the dark wizards I know have ended up in Azkaban."

William warned that children of this age are very curious about black magic and must be dissuaded.

Chapter 254 Fudge: Come out here!

"For a wizard, walls are not a good form of protection."

“Without enough defensive spells, such a wall can be easily demolished with a single spell, so we must reinforce the wall that is most easily overlooked.”

"The roof is the same. To be honest, if you want to silently invade a house, the roof is the best choice, especially in places where ventilation ducts have been built, which are basically the hardest hit areas for invasion."

"However, this room doesn't have it, so we don't need to consider it for now."

"And the windows, that's another disaster area. Although there aren't any famous methods that allow wizards to fly right now, it's easy to climb onto the windowsill using some tricks."

……

Harry diligently took notes of what William said, but his mouth kept widening.

According to Professor William, the house was full of holes and completely uninhabitable.

“However, we don’t need to be so meticulous with these protections. Those are for preventing ordinary wizards,” William said, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he had spent so much time explaining knowledge that was temporarily useless. “What we need now is to build strong enough magical protection just in case. The statement that the larger the spellcasting area, the stronger the concentrated protection is in most cases is true.”

Harry was confused by this conversation and felt that something was strange.

As William cast layer upon layer of protective spells and occasionally pulled out bottles of potions from his bag and sprinkled them on the walls, the strange feeling grew stronger and stronger.

"What kind of medicine are those, Professor?"

"Yes, some potions for reinforcing houses. They can't be drunk. Some wizards use them when building laboratories. They're not very expensive, but the effect is short, so they're not cost-effective and few people use them."

As William answered, he considered whether to lock the window or leave the owl's passageway open. "I've already spoken to old Tom. The house can be altered as needed."

“That wall over there wasn’t reinforced,” he pointed to the wall on the right. “I’ve moved to another room. If there’s any danger, I should be able to get here right away.”

Although the professor spoke very seriously, Harry's legs were still a little cold.

However, he eventually realized that something was wrong.

"Professor... Sirius Black came out because of me, didn't he?"

Thirteen-year-olds aren't that stupid after all...

However, William had no choice; the opponent was simply too ruthless. Although the Ministry of Magic wanted to suppress the matter to avoid chaos, William felt it was best to let the parties involved know the gravity of the situation.

“If there are no problems, that should be the case,” William nodded. “Although we should keep it from a child your age, I wouldn’t dare let you stay here without reinforcing this house.”

Once he was sure he had almost finished his work, he simply sat down and looked at Harry and spoke.

"Sirius was considered a legend even in Azkaban after his escape. Before he went to prison, he destroyed a street and killed thirteen people with a spell."

"That's probably not the right way to put it. In other words, even if Old Tom's tavern had some defensive spells, it would still be razed to the ground in the face of that kind of spell."

Harry was stunned for a moment, but in the end he still couldn't imagine how powerful such a spell could be.

Finally, he had to ask what he considered a somewhat foolish question: "Professor, can you cast such a spell?"

“No, most of the magic I know isn’t that offensive,” William replied solemnly after thinking for a moment—even including the Unforgivable Curse that Dumbledore gave him, he didn’t have magic with that kind of power. “Wizards who can cast that kind of magic are all top-notch dark wizards.”

"Okay, Professor, I understand. I won't go out and play around."

Harry's expression was quite serious.

“There’s no need to worry too much. Diagon Alley is full of batters now,” William reassured him. “And the Aurors are protecting you. As long as you don’t try to stray into the secluded alleys, studying and having fun won’t be too much of a problem.”

But William's words of comfort seemed to have little effect.

For the rest of the time, Harry stayed in his room quite well, only going downstairs for a few steps when eating or drinking, and he would never leave his room without permission.

When he has a problem, he will come to William's room to ask for advice, but afterwards he will obediently go back to his room and not do anything at all.

On the fifth day of this, Fudge came to visit in person.

"Professor William, what did you do to Harry?"

Fudge didn't look too good, but he still asked the questions politely.

"He explained a few spells... and answered some questions he didn't understand in the book? That's all."

William thought hard for a moment, making sure he didn't tell the joke about the Fudge government's Sirius Black prison break response four-part series.

He's been so busy these past few days that he hasn't even gone out for drinks much, let alone brag about it.

"Then why doesn't he leave the house? The Aurors responsible for protecting him all suspect that the person they are protecting has become autistic—even among the common people, there are rumors that a group of us are not doing anything and have simply put Harry Potter under house arrest in order to avoid any trouble."

...

What kind of ridiculous rumors are these...

“Well, how about we have the Auror protect him and take him for a walk around Diagon Alley every day?” William was at a loss and was thinking of a remedy. “After all, it’s really not appropriate for a child his age to stay at home all the time.”

"That's all we can do, Professor."

Fudge looked helpless. "I'll have a good talk with him. I hope he won't mind the Aurors following him around..."

“That child is sometimes so sensible it’s heartbreaking,” William shook his head. “I really don’t know what he’s been through all those years. He probably doesn’t go out so as not to cause trouble for others…”

“I’d rather he go out; he’s just causing more trouble staying in the house.” Fudge gave a wry smile as he said goodbye and knocked on the door next door.

The opinions in the magical world...

William sighed, ignoring the conversation that was about to take place next door, and began to study the newspaper he had just acquired.

He still had some doubts; Sirius's escape seemed too coincidental. He wanted to take a closer look at that newspaper.

"Is this the photo that won the lottery?"

He stared at the Weasley family photo that took up almost half the newspaper page, and felt a bit of a stomachache.

The sight of red hair in the newspaper reminded him of a host of things that had happened in the previous school year.

Just as Fudge said, the newspapers clearly pointed out the relationship between Ron Weasley and Harry Potter.

Has the Daily Prophet found the secret to wealth?

They even included things that were practically unrelated, and this was supposed to be the official newspaper of the magical world…

"It has no reference value whatsoever..."

He lay back and stuffed the newspaper into the specially made bag originally used to hold exam papers.

"Learn Russian, there's so much to do..."

Chapter 255 William's Special Training

Reluctantly, Harry was eventually taken out by Fudge.

But after wandering around, his true nature, which he had forcibly suppressed, was finally unleashed.

Ultimately, every student admitted to Gryffindor has a restless heart—though that's a bit of a compliment, but that's just how Gryffindor is back in school, so let's be understanding…

Although Harry was a little nervous at first, he started to enjoy his time outside after he got into the swing of things.

Ice cream is the perfect treat for summer leisure time. While enjoying this delicious treat, Harry also had much more pocket money than his peers, and there were shops all around.

It wasn't until Harry returned to his room at the Leaky Cauldron that he realized he had spent the entire day outside.

Young people have a more youthful mindset; their emotions come and go faster than others.

Putting down the many odds and ends of what he had bought—some useful, some useless—Harry, with a mix of trepidation and skepticism, knocked directly on William's door.

"Harry? Please come in."

William's voice came from inside.

"Okay, Professor."

He pushed open the door and saw the self-defense magic professor leaning back in his chair, his right hand holding a wand resting on the table, and his left hand tracing something on a book on the table with his finger. As his finger slid, the quill pen on the book would occasionally dart about. He looked particularly lazy.

Seeing this scene, Harry's prepared question vanished, and he blurted out:

"Professor, what are you doing?"

"Learn a language, and while you're at it, think about whether there are any shortcomings in today's alarm measures."

"You still feel it's not perfect?"

Harry was stunned. William's series of spells had frightened him so much that he had stayed inside for a long time. He had only been able to play outside properly today, but the professor still felt that the defenses were not adequate.

“Well, it’s a bit of a shame,” William said, stopping the quill, handing the wand to his left hand, and unconsciously flicking the book with his right. “I originally thought the Aurors would inspect and reinforce your room or something, and I was thinking of seeing how they would do it, but in the end nothing happened.”

"Nothing happened? You mean they broke into my room?"

“No,” William waved his hand, “They seem to be more law-abiding than I thought…”

Even Harry, who had faced Voldemort in his first year, was momentarily at a loss for words.

"Relax, Harry, it's good that there was no infiltration. The Aurors are still reliable..."

“Um, Professor,” Harry hesitated for a while before finally continuing the conversation, “Professor, if you were facing Sirius Black, what would you do?”
