"Of course, but what does it matter?"

"Of course, we can write to the parents and tell them that if Professor William goes to the exam board, then next year's OWLs exam will likely be just as difficult. Show the parents the previous papers, and when they see the low scores from previous exams, they will immediately understand how dangerous it is for Professor William to go to the exam board."

“The monthly exam is the real challenge—” someone had just raised a question, but before they could finish, they realized, “That’s right, the parents don’t know about the monthly exam, they only know about OWLs. If you told them that Professor William would set such difficult questions at the exam administration, they would definitely believe you! You’re something else, Fred!”

"Thank you for the compliment. Also, I'm George."

George responded seriously, "Of course, in order to prevent some of the conspiracy from spreading, we have to take measures to prevent spies from appearing among the students. We definitely can't tell those exam fanatics about the monthly exam, otherwise it will all be over."

"Tell them that Professor William has left, and there's no professor at Hogwarts who can set such good exam questions!"

A follow-up message came from Ravenclaw—while normally Ravenclaws aren't particularly resistant to exams, after a full year of OWL preparation, no matter which house they're from, they won't have a positive view of exams.

“Great idea, I suggest Percy!” Fred agreed.

"Hermione, who is in second year, also has to be ruled out!"

……

And so, a group of fifth-grade students and fourth-grade twins, who were trying to save their sixth-grade fun-filled education, began to plot.

-

"Speaking of which, Fred, aren't we at a bit of a disadvantage?"

After all the negotiations were over, George watched his brother do the math, "If the professor were still here, we wouldn't have been able to escape the hellish teaching in fifth grade."

“You forgot to consider the chain reaction, my brother,” Fred shook his head. “If there really were monthly exams, I think the grueling teaching wouldn’t just be limited to fifth grade; it would be the difference between one year and three years…”

Thinking of the consequences, George couldn't help but gasp—if that happened, the only difference between Hogwarts and Hell would be that Hell doesn't require exams…

"Get out of here, Azkaban! We need to let everyone know!" George shouted to himself, "If Hogwarts loses Professor William, then this place is Azkaban!"

-

"Strange, not a single student has come forward to question or challenge us..."

William had dinner in his office, studying the curse while watching the mischievous child copying notes.

Although he would have to leave Hogwarts to work elsewhere, the investigation into the Dark Lord absolutely could not stop—he was still carrying a curse!

"Keep copying diligently; it'll really help your final exams. There's a saying that goes, 'After copying a textbook a thousand times, you'll master even the most difficult magic,'" William said with a smile, encouraging the child who was copying. "I checked your grades—well, to be honest, they're pretty barely passing. Although that's a common problem in Slytherin, you still need to put in some effort..."

I don't know if it's because pure-blood families are too well-off that the children don't study very hard, but Slytherin's average grades have never been very good. But if there is a student from a poor family, then the student with good grades, like Percy Hermione, will crush the students of the other three houses and become the undisputed number one.

“Of course, I’m not being sarcastic. I looked at your final exams from last year, and you actually have a lot of talent in self-defense magic, it’s just… your foundation is too weak…” William shook his head. “The other subjects are about the same, your level is terrible—you did very well on the first part of the exam from last year, but the rest was a complete mess…”

"How should I put it? It's like they were studying hard at first, but then they just gave up and thought they were done with it..." William ignored the kid's flushed and pale face. "It's more like they started to give up on themselves..."

"Sigh, never mind... just focus on copying the book." William had originally planned to give the boy another beating and present him with a large set of test papers to try and correct his incorrect thinking, but considering that he was about to leave his job, he could only sigh and give up—a half-hearted approach to correction wouldn't be very effective; it was just wishful thinking.

'Although continuing education until graduation may not guarantee a good education, and might even be a complete waste of effort, at least the students' grades will improve significantly…'

'Forget it, why think so much? Watching him do his problems makes me happy, and he gains knowledge too. That's enough—it's a win-win situation. Asking for too much will only lead to nothing!'

-

"The school's response should arrive today, right?"

William got out of bed, unsure of what to do. After enjoying watching the mischievous boy copy the book yesterday, he had replied to Professor Marchban, but he hadn't filled out the application form yet.

Although it might sound like he's talking without understanding the situation, he still wanted to finish dealing with everything at Hogwarts before applying for a position in the Examinations Authority.

Professor Marchban's reply has just arrived. The old lady expressed her strong support for his approach and stated that if Abu comes up with another solution, she will still retain the position originally prepared for William in the Wizarding Authority.

'I'm flattered—' William exclaimed. If the final exams at Hogwarts weren't still ongoing, he would have already started preparing monthly exam papers and application reports in the monthly exam format—something he had practiced quite well at Hogwarts.

But to his surprise, no one from the school came to find him.

If it weren't to prevent things from escalating further, he would have liked to go to the auditorium or McGonagall's office himself.

'You need to calm down, William…' he told himself. 'If you show up rashly, there will be no room for criticism among the students. Although the students are good, they are also easily deceived.'

'Although we promptly clarified the situation to the older students, it's really hard to say how things will develop now…'

'And that brat probably won't dare say anything more—but he's still angry, so I'll give him another set of tests for today's detention!' William thought to himself, 'While I'm at it, I'll also ask about the painting; if that kid spreads rumors again, then I'll have to inquire about the expulsion process…'

-

"You have your business, and I have mine, so we each manage our own affairs on a regular basis..."

The child William was talking about was now cornered in the lounge by several older students, the one in the lead of whom was also a member of the school board. "But we need to make this clear today. If you continue to spread any more junk messages on campus, we're not done yet!"

"Let's go find the others. I remember that girl who graduated last year, her uncle is a school board member. Does anyone have her contact information?"

"Isn't Mars, who's in seventh grade, her fiancé? We can go find him!"

"I have a cousin who's going to Hogwarts next year. His father is also a member of the school board. I'll go write a letter right now..."

The group left the lounge amidst much noise, leaving behind people unsure whether to continue publishing the information.

-

"Albus..."

In Dumbledore's headmaster's office, Professor McGonagall looked unusually bewildered.

What did you discuss with the school board members?

"A board of trustees? Not yet. I just spoke with Fudge, asking newspapers like the Daily Prophet not to publish negative information about Professor William, otherwise we could easily lose an excellent professor completely. (Note: Click to view)"

"But what's with all those letters from owls and school board members?"

Professor McGonagall looked surprised. "More than half of the board members have already written to say that they have learned about Professor William's teaching standards from various sources and are ready to help suppress the negative public opinion."

"Furthermore, many parents have written to say that they have learned about Professor William's teaching level over the past year through various channels and feel that Professor William is capable enough to serve as a professor."

"I really don't know how they found out. Even we ourselves are completely baffled about our OWLs exam results, and the final exams haven't even started yet."

“Oh, right,” Dumbledore said, as if remembering something, “I’ll write to Professor Marchban and see if this year’s self-defense spells can be graded early and the results released ahead of time—I remember the examiners were quite satisfied with this year’s candidates.”

"A feasible measure, Albus."

Professor McGonagall nodded.

"Professor William is still in his office. Before we have a formal conversation, we need to do what we can first."

Chapter 238 William's eyes sharpened.

"What's going on—did I guess wrong?"

William was getting restless in the office.

The final exams are over, and the papers have been delivered to his desk by the little elf, so why hasn't the school come to talk to him yet?

'Give me a straight answer on how to handle this...'

He muttered to himself as he began grading the exam papers with practiced ease.

Although it was the first final exam, it seemed to be just so-so...

There are no final exams in fifth grade, and the performance in sixth grade is pretty much what we've seen so far. There are no surprises, nothing to regret, just average.

"A sixth-grade student..."

William shook his head. "It's like chewed sugarcane—it brings absolutely no pleasure..."

After hastily producing the results, William stretched. Of all the sixth-grade students, only Percy's paper was worth his careful examination for errors. As for the others, well, they were just passable, barely making up for the year's work.

-

"The exam is over!"

"Ooh!"

"Great!"

……

A variety of shouts echoed through the lounge. The final exams were over, and everyone was as relaxed as the fifth graders during the time before the results came out.

Although final grades will definitely be released on the last day before leaving school, resulting in less relaxing time than fifth grade, what does it matter?

The joys of student life, even something as simple as suddenly finding out you don't have to go to the next class, are enough to make you feel content!

"Fred, do you think their joy is real joy?"

In the Gryffindor common room, George looked at his cheering classmates with a deep expression.

“Perhaps,” Fred remarked. “Compared to us, they didn’t even face what happened that day, nor could they imagine what would have happened after Hogwarts nearly became the most terrible prison… They didn’t even know next year was the OWL exams…”

Both of them sighed simultaneously, their eyes filled with a sage-like gleam. "They have no idea what kind of pain lies beneath that fleeting pleasure..."

"What are you two thinking about now?"

Percy's voice suddenly rang out, and he stared at his two younger brothers warily.

"I'm telling you, neither of you should be thinking of causing any trouble before you leave school, especially not Ginny!"

Percy's tone was quite stern. "She's still angry! If either of you does anything unusual again, I'll immediately follow Mother's instructions!"

Although the school didn't take the Azkaban incident too seriously—after all, putting pressure on freshmen during the sorting process is a long-standing tradition at the school—it doesn't mean the twins are unharmed.

Mrs. Weasley not only sent a furious letter, but also gave Percy the most terrifying power—if the two brothers were thinking of playing any pranks before summer vacation, Percy could directly twist their ears to scold them, and if it got serious, he could even kick the two brothers' butts hard.

"Yes, yes, no problem, Percy, we didn't do anything."

The two were quite friendly.

“That’s good,” Percy looked at the two suspiciously, his intuition telling him that his two brothers were up to no good. “Now go and put them in solitary confinement, as Professor McGonagall instructed.”

"The exam just ended!"

“Yes, that’s why there’s enough time for solitary confinement. Don’t be late, or else—” Percy didn’t speak, but lifted a corner of his robe to reveal his shoes.

-

"Is there finally a result?"

William sighed. Professor McGonagall had sent him a letter through a fairy, informing him that a board meeting would be held the next day, and as a professor whose opinions were being raised by the board, he needed to attend.

'That's strange—even if you're going to fire someone, you should at least give them a heads-up!'

William was completely baffled. He had submitted his final report card, but Professor McGonagall hadn't given him any official response.

Today's letter was the same; it didn't mention a single thing about what was going to happen, leaving him completely baffled as to what the school was up to.
